In the Pokémon world there are many types and kinds of pokémon and people. They live side by side with one another in different regions and cities. From the cradle of adventures in Kanto to the tropical paradise of Alola. Legendary pokémon have captured the imagination and stoked the fires of adventure, sending more and more people out to explore the world. Pokémon are friends to all people, co-workers and some trainers use them for battle... Trainers capture and raise their pokémon companions to reach glory and fulfill their dreams and aspirations...

But it's not all sunshines and rainbows...

Many organizations use pokémon for their own selfish desires and nefarious ends, be them world domination or a profit out of extorting those weaker than them...

We now find ourselves in the Cervantes Region, South-West of the Kalos Region. The place where our newest adventure in the Pokémon World is about to begin. Adventurer beware, this is one bizarre adventure you're in for.

As the sounds of the flowing water hitting the shore of the river, Pelippers and Wingulls flew deep into the city of Sevilla. The sky was clear of any form of clouds and some Flying type pokémon soared through the sky much to the entertainment of the people below. The warmth of the city and its beautiful climate made this city of the Cervantes Region a very recommended place to visit.

The streets of the city were all paved with black stones and tall buildings rose on either side of the streets with balconies on the different floors. People and pokémon of all shapes and sizes walked around the streets going about their daily business. Cars drove by as people went into different stores and bars to have a little snack. A store that sold pieces of art had a woman and her Gardevoir showing off her red dance for their nightly dancing activities. In a bar not far from there, a couple of old men and their Growliths sat on a table looking out into the city as a waiter brought them a plate of Iberico jam and a couple of ciders. And in another part of the street a family was taking pictures of the scenery.

A group of officers of the Guardia Civil ran around keeping an eye on everything so that nothing was going on. While on the other side of the street a young man walked down the street with a pink scorpion with a gliding pair of wings attached to its pincers and feet hanging on his right shoulder. This was a Gligar. The young man of sixteen years of age wore an open short sleeved black hoodie with a stitched golden star on his left perctoral on top of a long sleeved purple t-shirt, red jean pants with the knees wrapped in white stripes, and casual black slip-on shoes. He had bright red eyes, messy black hair that barely reached to his shoulders and wore a purple beanie with a stitched symbol of a fist.

"Well, where should we go today, Pinball Wizard?" asked the young man with a cocky smile to the Gligar on his shoulder.

Gligar looked around the street. It stuck out its tongue in a form of deep thought before placing a pincer claw above its eyes. Its eyes then settled on a target before pointing to it.

"Gli... Gligar!" the now named Pinball Wizard, replied.

The young man followed Pinball Wizard's claw as it led to the Plaza Española. The Plaza Española was a large arched building that circled the Maria Luisa park, a place where people would go to admire the architecture of the region and the history of how it was founded. It was the perfect place for tourists to learn about what the city and the people could show.

"Not a bad place, Pinball Wizard. Let's do the usual, alright?" the young man suggested.

"Gli!" Pinball Wizard replied with a sneaky smile of its own.

The two walked to The Plaza Española keeping a smile on their faces. The busy streets of the city were their natural habitat and they knew almost every single knick and cranny that made it. They crossed the street just as the signal turned green. They arrived at the Plaza and looked around for the perfect target. The ground of the arched building was comprised of black and white stones with a large arched bridge that stretched over the river and into the Maria Luisa park entrance.

The young man and Pinball spotted a couple of tourist girls taking pictures of the great fountain. Different statues of legendary pokémon, such as Lugia, Kyoger and Manaphy, adorned the fountain as the tourists took pictures of it. The two girls were so focused on the fountain that they didn't notice a sneaky looking man dressed in a black long sleeved shirt, white pants and a brown baseball cap.

The man walked past the two girls and, while no one was looking, reached into one of their bags and pulled out their wallet. The man smirked to himself as he pocketed the wallet in his left pant pocket.

Just then, the young man "accidentally" bumped into the other man.

"Hey, watch it, kid," The man snarled.

"Sorry, amigo, my bad," The young man replied, holding up his hands in defense.

The man snarled and went on his way, grumbling under his breath.

Once the man was out of his sight, the young man cracked a smile. He looked over his shoulder to his partner in crime.

"You got it, Pinball Wizard?" The young man asked.

"Gli gli," Pinball Wizard replied, holding out the wallet that the other man had stolen.

Pinball climbed back to the young man's shoulder before handing him the wallet.

"Let's do this," The young man said before walking to the two tourist girls. "Excuse me señoritas," He asked, getting their attention.

The two girls turned around and saw the young man standing there with the wallet in his hand.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but is this your wallet?" The young man asked, showing them the wallet.

"Oh my gawd, my wallet!" said one of the girls before snatching it. "My daddy would've killed me if I lost it! Thanks cutie, you're a life saver!"

"No need to thank me, just doing the right thing," The young man replied.

The two girls walked away talking about how lucky they were to not have lost their wallet.

The young man smirked before pulling out two hundred Pokedollars from his hoodie's pocket. Pinball Wizard grinned at as they both chuckled to each other.

"Let's go get some food, this should buy us something. What are you in the mood for?" The young man asked.

"Gligar, gli," Pinball Wizard said before licking its lips.

"Chocolate churros it is," The young man said as he pocketed the money.

As the young man walked away, a hand was placed on his left shoulder stoping him on his tracks.

"I sure hope that you weren't planning on keeping all that money for yourself, Johnny," A stern old voice said.

The now named Johnny and Pinball closed their eyes and groaned before turning around to see the one that caught them. The owner of the hand was a man, more specifically, an elderly gentleman with tanned skin, short white hair and mustache and brown eyes. He wore a long sleeved white shirt under a purple vest and brown suit jacket, brown pants, black shoes and a brown fedora. The old man carried himself with an air of professionalism and good manners. He looked at Johnny with a slightly disapproving look on his face, narrowing his eyes while raising his left eyebrow. On his right hand he held an old wooden cane with a silver handle.

"Hello Professor Antonio," Johnny sighed. "I thought we were supposed to meet at 10 o'clock. Weren't we?"

"Yes, but you do tend to be fashionably late with sticky fingers," Professor Antonio said, holding out his hand.

Johnny rolled his eyes before giving him the money that he'd taken from the wallet.

Professor Antonio put the money inside his jacket pocket. He led Johnny and his Pokémon out of the Plaza Española as the people around them went on with their business.

Johnny and the professor walked through the streets with the professor keeping his eyes on the young man. After walking for twenty minutes, they arrived at a lab where the professor did his work. The building was relatively small compared to other labs in other regions, but it was useful for what Professor Antonio worked on. It was a two-story white building with a glass door at the entrance with a pokeball symbol over them. Bits of brick were seen near the entrance and two windows laid on the second floor.

"Come on, we've got an hour to prepare before the trainers arrive," Professor Antonio said, tapping on Johnny's shoulder.

Johnny and Professor Antonio entered through the front door and made their way to the lab that was past the stairs. They entered the room where the different Pokémon ran around and played with different toys and pieces. They were all starters from different regions and were all meant to be chosen by a trainer today. Pinball Wizard jumped off of Johnny's shoulder and glided towards the smaller Pokémon where he began playing with them. The other Pokémon gathered around the Gligar as it then started talking to them. Amongst the different starter Pokémon was a small Snubbull that slept on a bed and only opened one eye at the appearance of the two humans before returning to sleep.

"Right. So who are we looking at today?" Johnny asked, picking up a white lab coat and putting it on.

"We've got three trainers coming today. So, we'll need three volunteers today," Professor Antonio replied, picking up a clipboard with three documents.

The professor was a specialist on the area of Pokémon adaptability. Basically he looked at how Pokémon adapted to different places and why some Pokémon were more common in certain areas rather than others. He also dabbled on how the area affected the evolution of the Pokémon. That was the reason as to why he had different starter Pokémon from other regions. Which was great for trainers as they had the choice of different powerful starter Pokémon.

"Alright, Pinball Wizard, we need three today," Johnny said, kneeling next to Pinball Wizard.

"Gli, gli!" Pinball Wizard replied, nodding before reeling the message to the other Pokémon.

As Pinball told the starter Pokémon candidates about the upcoming selection many started to chirp and cry out in excitement. Amongst the other starters, a single Chimchar jumped over the others and landed on Johnny's shoulder.

"Chimchar! Chim!" Chimchar cried out in excitement.

Johnny laughed as he grabbed hold of the little monkey with a flame for a tail.

"Sorry little guy, but I'm not going to be the one making the choice," Johnny said, making Chimchar look down.

The little fire type starter jumped down and rejoined his friends.

"It seems Chimchar isn't very fond of going with anyone but you, Johnny," Professor Antonio chimed in. "Are you sure you don't want to have him as your companion?"

Johnny looked at the professor and then at the other Pokémon.

"I wish, but going out on a journey isn't my thing. Besides, the champion hasn't been challenged in over fifteen years," Johnny said. "What's the point?"

Professor Antonio looked at his assistant and ward with a heavy heart. He then went up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"It's not about having a point or not, it's about finding your path by broadening your horizons," Professor Antonio said. "If you go on a journey, you could meet so many people and Pokémon that could help you grow. You can't spend your life making it as a part-time pickpocket and assistant," He explained as the Snubull went up to his legs.

Johnny rolled his eyes before leaving the room.

Pinball Wizard jumped over to Johnny's shoulder, trying to keep his partner company.

"What am I gonna do with this chico? He drives me crazy sometimes," Professor Antonio wondered as the Snubull growled.

Professor Antonio turned to his working table and pulls out three different Pokedexes. He then pulled open one of the drawers. Inside the drawer there was a small black chip that he pulled out. He grabbed a magnifying glass and examined the chip.

"I must get this to Jose before the League Challenge begins," Professor Antonio said as he closed the chip. "This should put an end their schemes. Years of research are about to bear fruit," He said looking at Snubull as it whimpered.

"Snubull?" Snubull asked.

"Don't worry, Iggy. I've got it all figured out," Professor Antonio said, rubbing the now named Iggy's head. "After the trainers pick up their partners I'll go straight to Jose's place. He's been wanting to pin this bastardo for a long time," He added, putting the chip in his vest's pocket.

Johnny was walking out of the bathroom, not thinking much about his talk with the professor. He liked his life and wanted to keep things the way they were. He looked at one of the posters that were scattered on some of the walls. The poster showed the silhouettes of the eight gym leaders and the Elite Four standing above the words Pokémon League Challenge.

"Yeah right, as if I could ever do that," Johnny said, looking at Pinball Wizard.

"Johnny, the three trainers have arrived! Come help me with them!" Professor Antonio called from the other room.

Johnny walked to the other room and got a good look at the three different trainers.

The first trainer was a young girl around thirteen years of age and wore a pink dress and had brown hair tied in a ponytail. The second trainer was another thirteen year old, but it was a young boy that wore a blue polo shirt and ragged jeans and had shaggy blonde hair. The last trainer was the odd one out. He looked to be at least seventeen, he had a black duster jacket, white pants, black shoes and a red sleeveless t-shirt. He had a purple mohawk and had a dragon tattoo on his left cheek.

Johnny narrowed his eyes at the punk wanna be trainer. He couldn't help but feel like that guy was not as good as he led on. He could feel Pinball keep his eyes on the strange man as well.

"Welcome, I am Professor Antonio, the head researcher of the Cervantes Region," Professor Antonio introduced himself as Iggy walked next to him. "You three will start your journey today and as such you'll choose your first Pokémon today. You may choose a grass-type, fire-type or a water-type from amongst these Pokémon," He explained, presenting the different starters to the trainers. "Now, who'd like to go first then?"

The young girl went first and picked up a the water-type starter Squirtle as her partner and companion.

The youngest boy went next and chose the grass-type starter Treecko as his companion.

Now all that was left was the punk.

"It would seem that you get to pick from amongst the fire-type starters," Professor Antonio said. "I wonder which one you'll pick. Perhaps Charmander or a Litten to match your style?" He suggested.

"Don't tell me what to pick old man, I, Luka, will make my own choice," said the now named Luka, causing Johnny, Pinball Wizard and Iggy to growl.

Luka peered through the different fire-type starters as if he was picking a cow for slaughter. His eyes landed on Chimchar.

"Guess I'll take the fire monkey then," Luka said, picking up the little fire-type starter.

Chimchar tried to pull free from Luka's grip. It cried out, causing Johnny to step forward.

"Hey, take it easy pal," Johnny said. "You're hurting him."

Luka merely scoffed before putting Chimchar in his poke ball.

"Mind your own business, loser," Luka said before walking out of the lab.

"Espere you don't have your Pokédex yet," Professor Antonio said, but Luka was already far gone.

Johnny looked at the professor before he picked the Pokédex from the professor.

"Don't worry, Professor Antonio," Johnny said. "I'll give it to him."

"Thank you Johnny," Professor Antonio replied. "I'll set these two up in the meantime."

Johnny pocketed the Pokédex inside his hoodie before taking off his white jacket. He walked towards the entrance just as a man wearing a black uniform, sunglasses and a black cap came upon the entrance.

"Delivery for Professor Antonio," He said, showing Antonio a medium sized package.

"Just leave it there," Johnny said without giving the man a second glance.

The delivery man left the package by the entrance before leaving with a smile. He stepped out of the lab just as the sun struck the badge he had on his shoulder. It showed a triangle with a red dragon coiling around itself.

Johnny ran looking for the trainer Luka. He narrowed his eyes as he and Pinball Wizard looked for him.

"Alright Pinball, time to get a higher view," Johnny said as Pinball nodded.

Pinball Wizard jumped onto Johnny's Right hand, coiling himself into a ball. Johnny then flung Pinball Wizard. As he soared into the sky, Pinball Wizard spun around bouncing against the buildings before spreading it's glider wings taking to the air. Pinball Wizard glided through the air keeping his eyes open for any signs of the man they were looking for. As he looked from above, Johnny kept up from the ground.

Pinball then spotted something ahead of them.

"Gligar! Gli, gli!" Pinball Wizard called pointing with its pincer.

"Got it, Pinball!" Johnny said, running in the pointed direction.

Johnny reached the corner of a building. He peaked over the other street and found his quarry, Luka.

"Come on you damn monkey," Luka demanded, pulling on a leash connected to the collar that was around Chimchar's neck. "I'm your new master and you have to listen to me!"

"Chim Chimchar!" Chimchar replied, pulling against Luka.

"Why you little!" Luka growled, reading himself to kick Chimchar.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a voice called to Luka from behind.

Luka turned around to see who had said that, but instead he was met with a punch to the face. He fell down, letting go of the leash.

Johnny stood before Chimchar much to his relief.

"You can't force a Pokémon, or anyone for that matter, to do anything they don't want to," Johnny said as he walked between Chimchar and Luka. "That's one of the things that I can't stand. So I'll give you one chance to get lost."

Luka spat out blood before chuckling to himself. He got up and reached for his back pocket.

"You think you can just come at me and spout all that crap and think I'll listen? I got news for you kid, you don't know who you're messing with," Luka said, pulling out a switchblade. "Now, how about I repay you that little sucker punch with a nice scar on your face?"

Johnny didn't move nor reply. He narrowed his eyes at Luka, focusing on him.

"Last chance to walk away, Luka" Johnny said. "I'm not the nicest guy to scumbags like you. So drop the knife, I'll take Chimchar back to the lab and we'll call it even," He explained.

Luka laughed before licking the blade of his switchblade.

"You're a deadman, kid," Luka said, lunging to stab Johnny.

Johnny tipped his hat.

"Very well, Pinball Wizard, X-Scissor!" Johnny called out.

From high above Luka, Pinball Wizard dropped down at high speeds. He crossed its pincers in an X form as they glowed white with a light green highlight. It struck at the back of Luka's head, knocking the punk off balance.

Johnny used this chance to get in close. He punched Luka with an uppercut with his right fist before cracking him across the face with his left.

Luka fell down to the ground knocked out with a bloody nose.

Johnny walked up to the switch blade with his hands on his pockets. He kicked the blade away and watched it go into a nearby sewer.

"That takes care of that," Johnny said before going through Luka's pants, looking for Chimchar's Pokéball. "Here we go," He said, taking the Pokéball.

Johnny went up to Chimchar as Pinball Wizard clung to his shoulder. He unclipped the leash, leaving the black collar on.

"Let's go, Chimchar," Johnny said. "The professor will yell at me either way, but as long as you're ok, I'll take it."

Chimchar cried out of happiness before jumping onto Johnny's other shoulder with a smile on its face.

"Alright, you're happy, I get it," Johnny laughed. "Let's go get some churros before we get that scolding, huh?"

Both Pinball Wizard and Chimchar cheered at the prospect of having a sweet fried treat.

Johnny and his two Pokémon had made their way to a bakery where he liked to buy churros. As they walked towards the store, Johnny heard something behind them. He briefly turned his head to see what it had been, but he didn't see anything.

"Must've been my imagination," Johnny sighed before walking away.

Unbeknownst to Johnny and his two Pokémon, someone was tailing them.

Johnny walked down the street until he got to an empty street. He always used that short cut to get to the bakery.

Chink.

Johnny stopped as he heard an empty can roll after being kicked. He turned around hoping that it had been some wild Pokémon running around the city.

"Chim!" Chimchar pointed at the corner of one of the entrances.

Johnny followed the fire-type's finger and saw that someone was indeed following them. He took a defensive stance, thinking of who could be following them.

"Alright pal, what are you waiting for?" Johnny called out. "I know you're following me."

A young man walked out of the corner. He had short red hair with a short pony tail on the back of his head. He had fair skin and deep blue eyes. He wore a green jacket over a white t-shirt, lime green pants with two belts wrapped around his waist, and a pair of black shoes on his feet. He had a calm look to his eyes and didn't seem to waste a single movement as he walked towards Johnny.

"I must say, your Chimchar's keen eyes are impressive. He was able to spot me rather easily," He said. "You must be a pretty good trainer."

"I'm not, but tell me: Who are you and why were you following me?" Johnny asked, his eyes fixed on the young man.

"Perdón my name is Nando, and I'm here to remind you punks that Team Dragoon isn't welcomed here," Nando answered, pointing an accusatory finger at Johnny. "Now get lost... or suffer the consequences!"

Johnny placed Chimchar on the ground behind him as he assumed a combat stance with Pinball Wizard ready to jump in. Nando pulled out a Pokéball and got ready to throw it.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but if you're looking for a fight... I'll give it to you!" Johnny said, pointing him back.
