"Diction, it's important!" Her professor's voice boomed throughout the lecture hall.

"Yes something is good" he frowned "But it's also magnificent, astounding, superb"

Sakura rolled her eyes, the only reason she had even come to her literature lecture was because it was conveniently right next to her campus food court. She had convinced herself that sitting and listening to her professor babble on about Hemingway was worth her sandwich she was going to destroy in the next five minutes.

"Midterms are coming up by the way" a change in topic caught the pink-haired girl's attention "I'm assigning a five page paper single spaced" the class groaned in agony, some professors really liked torturing their students.

"Quiet down, Quiet down" he rolled his eyes "This paper is 30% of your grade, I want you to pick a novel we have read in class, so you have about 3 to choose from"

Sakura scoffed at how many options they had to choose from, 3 books, none which she liked.

"I expect an in depth analysis, introduce the novel, summarize it but don't just re-write the whole novel, pick 5 or 6 quotes that stood out to you and explain why it's significant to the novel and then for the last 2 pages tell me why you chose the book."

Sakura began to think about how she would approach this assignment, she barely read the first one they were assigned, the second one is being used as a coaster, and the third one was so boring she had to literally pinch herself to stay awake.

If this was any other class, the girl would probably just open her textbook and study for the next two weeks but literature was not like that. There was no textbook, no notes, no right or wrong. Everything was so relative and she hated it.

She wanted black and white, right and wrong, yes or no not "I mean your description of the tone was decent but it could improve" what the hell did that even mean?

But she knew she needed to buckle down and get serious on this assignment, it was worth 30% of her grade and Sakura was sitting at a 75% in the class. Another D on an assignment would only bring her down lower.

On the other hand would acing the assignment even bring her to a B? She had no clue. The grading and percentages were so weird when it came to the class, homework wasn't standard it was just given on a whim, there were no exams but plenty of essays that were each worth different points, and pop quizzes here or there.

"Anyways, if you need any help or assistance I'm always available, I won't write it for you but I can at least get you on the right path" the man glanced at his wrist "Class dismissed, if you have any questions feel free to stay after class"

She closed her laptop and shoved it in her bag before heading down to the podium, it seems as if a handful of students had some questions or concerns over the assignment because there was a hefty line waiting for her.

Maybe they were on the verge of failing too, tch.

Sakura had registered for the class thinking she wouldn't even have to bat an eye in the class, the A would be easy for sure.

Boy was she wrong.

The first novel they read was not only 300 some pages long but her professor only gave them about 2 weeks to read it and come up with some sort of analyzation.

Sakura had to pull it out of her ass and I'm sure she could tell her professor knew the paper was out of her ass considering she had received a big fat D, red ink was everywhere. She had skimmed the critique's, cringing when she saw a few misspelled words and grammatical errors, wasn't spellcheck supposed to take care of all that?

"Next"

Oh well, she'd just have to try harder for this assignment, she definitely needed to go back and reread the past 3 novels to conclude which one she'd base her assignment off of, she had a feeling that the third one would be her pick, boring as it was, it was the only book she had read far enough to get an understanding on what was going on.

"Ahem, Next"

Sakura blinked her eyes and noticed that no one was in front of her, her professor was standing a few feet away leaning on the podium.

She hurried over and apologized "Hi Sakura Haruno, I had a question about the assignment—" she smiled nervously "Actually more so about my position in the class"

"Go on"

"Well you see— I am at a 75% right now which is a C, I realize this assignment is worth 30% of my grade I was wondering if getting an A would—"

"Bring you up to a B"

She bit her lip before nodding "Yeah, I know that it's my fault for falling so far behind but I just want to weigh out my options"

"Sakura Haruno is it?" he shut his eyes briefly "You were the one who misspelled the author of Fahrenheit 451 on their paper correct?"

Sakura was hoping the students in the back were far enough away to dismiss the professors comment, "Yeah that's me" she sighed and looked down.

"Don't be ashamed, it happens" the man chuckled before crossing his arms "You know, from grading your paper or should I say papers, I notice that you have very little background in literature, am I correct?"

"Yeah, I'm a chemistry major—" she chuckled "Literature and or English really isn't my strong spot"

"I figured" the professor rubbed his chin before turning back to ruffle through the papers on the podium. He whipped out a yellow piece of paper and handed it to her.

"I feel like this should be of assistance to you"

She read the sheet.

"FREE ENGLISH TUTORS"

"It's free and I know a couple of the tutors myself, they're pretty good kids" he smiled and shoved his hands in his pocket "I would love to sit here and re-teach you the basics and core principles of literature and writing but honestly I have hundreds of papers to grade and if I single you out it won't be fair to the rest"

"So the best I can offer you is that, there should be an e-mail you can contact and they'll get you connected with a tutor on campus, how does that sound?"

She clutched the paper in her hands and smiled "Thank you, I'll be sure to contact them soon."

. . .

Sakura wasn't going to contact them.

First of all, she was already swarmed with work from her other classes, her chemistry professor had given her 5 pages of organic reactions to work on, her biology professor had decided that a pop quiz might "weasel" itself in on next week's class, and her anatomy midterm was approaching soon, she didn't have time to squeeze in tutoring sessions.

She bit into her sandwich and sighed, attending class for this was totally worth it.

"Haruno" a blonde slid into the booth across from her, reaching for the other half of her sandwich.

"Hey" she pulled the plate closer to her "I did not just torture myself for an hour and a half to not finish my entire sandwich"

"Geez" the blonde girl rolled her eyes "I barely had any lunch, I went to all of classes today, I'm starving"

Sakura scoffed and continued chowing down on her turkey and ham sub "You went to all of your classes?" the pink-haired girl downed her soda "Have the stars aligned?"

"Hey I'm trying to focus on my education" Ino stuck her tongue out "Besides there's a total hottie in my physics class and—"

"Ah so that's why you've been getting up bright and early to attend classes" Sakura smirked.

"That and" Ino pointed her finger in the air "I wanted to show off my new top" she stretched out the purple crop-top "Cute right?"

"Meh" she frowned "It's alright"

"Yeah yeah, coming from someone who only wears the same sweatshirt and shorts everyday"
If anyone was as close to Ino as she was, they would probably assume she was a business major, maybe communications, something simple, something that screams I don't want to go to college but my parents forced me. But Ino was a physics major, sometimes even Sakura would remember that fact and surprise herself all over again.

The blonde was a clutz, she was loud, obnoxious, and she could spend hours talking about a new nail-salon that opened across campus or the 30 seniors she had crushes on but a lot of people underestimated the blonde, she was one of the most smartest people Sakura knew.

Ino unlike Sakura didn't need to spend hours re-reading her textbook for a concept to click, she just understood physics. While Sakura was cooped up on a Friday afternoon studying for her biology exam, Ino would be at some fraternity partying her heart out. But when grades were out, they'd both get an A, Sakura despised Ino and her ability to just understand things without having to focus on them.

But I guess that's what made Ino, Ino.

"Anyways, this Friday, you, me, Temari, Zeta house, boys, drinks, yes"

"How about, me, at my room, studying, essay, tests, homework, no"

Ino groaned "It's a Friday for crying out loud Sakura, everything else can wait plus midterms are far away, you'll worry about it when it comes"

"Easy for you to say" Sakura scoffed "I have some stupid essay for my literature class, it's the midterm basically and get this it's worth 30% of my fucking grade Ino"

"Tough luck" the blonde eyed the yellow sheet that had been laying on the table, she grabbed it and read aloud "Free English Tutors"

"Yeah my professor gave it to me cause he thinks it would benefit me but I don't think so, seems more of a burden than anything"

The blonde shoved the paper away and shrugged "Could be beneficial, tutors could be hot" she winked before Sakura could scowl at her "Go be a whore somewhere else"

"I will, anyways I got to go, I have a stupid quiz soon, think about Friday!" she stood up and quickly snatched away the other half of Sakura's sandwich.

Instead of protesting the pink-haired girl simply rolled her eyes, she'd get her back eventually.

. . .

It was 5:00 pm and frankly Sakura could feel her legs giving out, Tuesday's were her busiest days. 5 classes, 2 labs and almost no room to go back to her dorm to catch up on some rest but luckily the day was over and she was once again reunited with her twin bed she had grown to love.

There were a lot of things Sakura was unlucky with but when it came to her dorm she was one of the luckiest. Their dorm assignments were basically a lottery system, there were 20 single spaces available, 50 doubles, and 30 triples.

Sakura didn't really care about rooming with anyone, she just hoped whoever it was wasn't a complete slob and respected her items and side of the room. But Sakura wouldn't have to worry about any of that because fortunately she had been one of the ten to receive a single assignment and boy was she loving it.

Her walls were decorated with various polaroid's throughout her high-school and freshman days. Important dates were written on neon green sticky notes, plastered all across her desk and she had a cute little pink rug in the center to really bring everything together.

Her room was basic, but she liked it like that.

Although she'd much rather prefer a long nap after her stressful, long day she knew that if she didn't get to her assignments right away she'd push them off till tomorrow and then tomorrow would come and then the cycle would continue.

She reached for her bag, bringing it onto her bed to search for her laptop.

There was almost too many things on her plate, she didn't know where to start.

Biology? Sure but it was just a quiz, and it wasn't until a few days. She understood the basic concepts she just needed refreshers on the details, it could wait.

Anatomy? The exam was going to be a big one, but what was the point of studying now when they haven't even covered half the material yet, it would be better to size up all the information she needed to study so she could make a proper study guide.

Chemistry, Maybe. She did have a lot of homework and it was going to take her a few hours to even begin to understand some of the questions.

But then she remembered, a new burden was added to her list.

Literature.

God just when she thought it couldn't get any worse, the three books that had been thrown around in her room were coming back to haunt her.
The first book was 300 pages long and it just got worse from there, she would need at least a good week to refresh her memory and decide which book she was going to use for her damn essay.

Sakura decided to start at literature.

She ran around her room to collect the books she'd be reading for the next few days and stacked them neatly on her bed, ridding the sheets of everything else.

Okay she was going to do this, all she needed to do was concentrate.

. . .

No Sakura could not do this.

She began to truly believe that English was in fact her weakest point, every time she read a sentence it was like the wires in her brain short circuited and she'd have to read it 5 more times for it to really set in.

At this pace, she wasn't going to finish a single book until Christmas, and it was September.

Just as she was about to reach for her phone, she noticed the familiar yellow sheet on her desk. She held it up and examined the smaller print.

'Email KonohaLitTutors for assistance!"

She was actually contemplating sending an e-mail at this point, it was becoming hopeless for her to attempt to tackle this assignment on her own. Hell it was already 8 pm and she had only gotten through 10 pages.

'2 hour sessions, every Wednesday and Thursday!"

Her Wednesday's and Thursday's were pretty vacant except for a chemistry lecture on Wednesday and two labs on Thursday.

She swatted the paper away and reached for her laptop.

Opening her e-mail only reassured her anxiety, her inbox was flooded with constant reminders from her professors about exams, assignments and homework. It was beginning to settle in that she needed to get her shit together now or else she'd be in trouble.

'To: KonohaLitTutors '

'From: SakuraH '

'Hey, I am a sophomore attending Konoha Uni—'

She angrily pressed the backspace key, that was stupid of course they knew she was a student at Konoha University why else would she be writing to them.

'Hey, I'm a sophomore and I was curious about the tutoring program—'

Tutoring program? Was it even a program? Sakura was beginning to grow frustrated at herself why was this so hard? Just write the damn email and send it.

'Hey, I'm a sophomore, was recommended the literature tutoring sessions by a professor, would like some more information. Thank you.'

Sakura didn't even re-read her e-mail, she knew if she did she'd probably find something that irked her and she'd sit here all night trying to write a sentence.

The pink-haired girl shut her laptop and sighed.

Time to get started on that chemistry homework.

. . .

Sakura was in the middle of trying to figure out the mechanism of the Grignard reaction when her laptop buzzed.

A small rectangle appeared '1 new inbox!"

She swatted her pencil away and tapped on the notification.

'To: SakuraH '

'From: KonohaLitTutors '

'Hello, our tutoring sessions are two hours long the times are flexible after 3pm and the sessions are held Wednesday and Thursday. I have forwarded your email to one of our specific tutors, they can give you more information and you can work out a schedule. Thank you'

Before Sakura could react another notification popped up on her screen, she tapped it and was met with another email.

'To: SakuraH '

'From: UchihaS '

'Hello, I am one of the available literature tutors on campus. My name is Sasuke Uchiha, please give me a time between 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on both Wednesdays and Thursdays that work for you. Thank you.'

Well whoever Sasuke Uchiha was all she knew was that they were persistent as hell. Sakura never agreed to the sessions she was just asking for more information, but it would be rude to double back now, plus who was she kidding she needed help on this assignment fast.

She hit reply and thought about her schedule.

She wouldn't be able to do anything until 4:00pm on Thursdays but Wednesday she was basically flexible whenever.

'Hi Sasuke. I am free from 3:00 pm on Wednesdays and 4:00 pm on Thursdaes'

Fuck, the pink-haired girl scrambled to cancel the email when she realized her spelling error but it was too late, the e-mail was already sent. She immediately slammed her forehead on her keyboard. Now this person was definitely going realize why she needed English tutoring.

'Okay. I would like to meet up at 4:00 pm tomorrow to discuss what you need help on specifically, please bring any assignments, books, or any other relevant information that might assist us during your session. Thank you'

She read the e-mail before writing her response 'Okay. Where shall we meet'

Sakura realized that they had been sending e-mails almost as if they were texting, was Sasuke refreshing his inbox too? Because she sure was.

'At the main library, floor 5 that's where all our sessions will take place, on both Wednesdays and Thursdaes'

Sakura had to re-read the word again, was this on purpose? He had made that typo on purpose he was teasing her. She was already dreading her meeting with this person and they haven't even seen each other yet.

'Okay. Thank you. See you tomorrow'

Sakura was at least expecting some kind of thank you or okay but her inbox had stayed empty the whole night.

Suddenly Sakura didn't want to finish her chemistry homework anymore.

She wanted to take a nice long nap and forget that she had spelled Thursday wrong, to an English tutor.
