It looks like you guys are anticipating on what the last chapter is talking about. It'll reveal what Rebecca will answer to Yugi, so just read it. This chapter will show an event happening, and I promise you that they will cross paths with their idols soon. Enjoy!

Rebecca blinked, and then frowned as she tried to recall a certain memory about it. The Rose Duelist did sounded familiar, and she remembered her grandfather telling her about it. However, the Rose Duelist's identity is still unknown, and the only person who would pick the Rose Duelist is the queen herself: Margaret Mai Beaufort.

What's more surprising is that Yugi heard about the legendary Rose Duelist, who is rumored to be a myth. Only the royal family of Lancaster and York know who the Rose Duelist is. The only way to figure out who the Rose Duelist could be is requesting a high druid to summon a duelist to help end the war. Lady Beaufort did mention a high druid named Simon McMooran to aid her, but they still haven't found the Rose Duelist yet.

It's also rare to find the right person to become the Rose Duelist, because he or she must fight for the Red Roses, and obtain 16 Rose Cards to end the war and return back home. Yugi and Ryou ended up here from a spell, and she cannot ignore it as a minor coincidence.

Biting her lip, she looked over at Yugi. "I'm afraid there has been no information on who the Rose Duelist could be. Whoever he or she is, they must fight for the Red Roses." She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "The only way to know whom the Rose Duelist could be is asking either Lady Margaret Mai Beaufort or the druid Simon McMooran. Unfortunately, that would be impossible since they are busy aiding her majesty's son: Prince Henry Yami Tudor the VII."

She gave Yugi a suspicious look. "May I ask, how did you hear about the Rose Duelist? Did someone from your era told you about it?"

A sad smile appeared on Yugi's face, as he looked at his lap. "My guardian Merle told me the story about the Wars of the Roses. Every night before Ryou and I sleep, he would tell us about Henry Yami Tudor, Bakura J. Mortimer, and many other characters who participated in the war. All we know is that the Rose Guardian's identity is still unknown, and someday, we hope to figure out who that person is."

"If the Rose Guardian has been chosen or not," Ryou added. "He is right though. Our guardians Merle and Nenet had told us the story." He let out a sad sigh. "That's all we know about the Rose Guardian. Even our guardians do not know who the Rose Guardian could be."

Their pets snuggled against their legs, sensing their owners' sadness. Rebecca's eyes softened, remembering when they told her their guardians went to the afterlife when they were young. They were lucky to be raised in the castle under their queen's protection. Even she is still mourning over the death of her own parents.

"Forgive me. I shouldn't have pried," Rebecca apologized, and bowed her head.

Yugi shook his head. "Its okay. We learned to accept and move on." He touched the handle of his sword. "Right now, all we can do is fulfill their dreams so they would be proud of us and guide us in spirit. We won't fail them."

"He's right. But for now, we must find a way to return back home without involving ourselves in the war," Ryou added.

"We'll discuss it tomorrow. Right now, suppertime is approaching. I must prepare dinner immediately," Rebecca stood up and hurried to the kitchen. She pointed to a bedroom across from the kitchen. "Over there is your bedroom. Go ahead and settle down there. I'll call you when dinner is ready."

Ryou got up. "May I help? Yugi and I learned how to cook in the kitchen before."

"He's right. We know how to make a great stew," Yugi replied.

"Perfect! Put your things away, wash your hands, and come here to help me prepare the ingredients. The faster we can get the meal ready; you'll be prepared to meet my grandfather once he returns from his meeting!" Rebecca said.

Ryou picked up the empty cups and dishes and brought them over to the kitchen. "Would you like me to wash these?"

"Please do!" Rebecca pleaded.

Yugi got up and went over to where they are. "Your grandfather will be all right with two males and their pets staying here with the two of you?"

"He won't mind. He'll be interested in what the 15th century is like, and I'm certain you would love to hear his stories."

"What does he do?"

"Can't tell you. His job is a secret," Rebecca playfully winked at him, and pulled him over to a table where some veggies and a knife are resting on. "Now start chopping!"

Putting the white nightshirt on, Yugi sighed in relief as he felt the soft cotton caressing his skin. Even though he does love wearing his knight uniform, it can sometimes be a little uncomfortable when wearing it too long. Luckily, the uniform isn't too tight so he is able to breathe and move around in it.

Snowflake is resting on the bed, with Thumper sleeping next to her. Ryou already had his nightshirt on, and is busy going through the spell book while sitting on the bed. Even though it's only been days since they stayed at the 'Hawkins Glowing Flowers', it felt like they stayed here longer. Their pets also had gotten use to the new environment and area.

When they first met Arthur Hawkins on the day they helped Rebecca prepare dinner, they were surprised that he believed them after telling him their story. Besides the spell book and Rebecca confirming their story, he also didn't mind them staying here until they are able to return back home.

Bless his heart for being so sweet and kind.

As promised, Yugi and Ryou helped around at their home and shop. They made sure to stay hidden from customers so no one would see them, since they cannot let any rumors fly around town of two people resembling their prince and his knight.

Melody welcomed the duo with open arms, happy to make more friends and promising to keep them safe so no one would see their faces. She even asked about what their kingdom is like, and if she can visit the place.

"Your castle must be so pretty! Melody dreams of seeing a beautiful castle!" she gushed.

Rebecca would sweat-drop and scold her for acting improper in front of their guests, while the boys told her it was fine and described what the inside and outside walls of the castle is like. They even mentioned the mosaic glass of their queen surrounded by beautiful roses, making Melody squeal in delight while Rebecca listened.

"Your queen must be not only strong, but beautiful and intelligent. Are you certain she doesn't have a king to rule by her side?" Rebecca questioned.

Yugi shook his head. "She chose to rule her kingdom with no husband. Even though she needs an heir or next of kin to help take over her throne before she passes, she chose to pass it down to her niece. Its her way to prove to every kingdom and nation that all queens are powerful."

"Now I really wish to meet her someday. She would be a great role model for all females."

"Melody wants to meet her, too! I want to know what type of beautiful dresses she would wear!"

Arthur Hawkins was intrigued at what the 15th century is like, along with their kingdom being at peace and their guardians. He asked them if they knew about duel monsters, which are known as Ka monsters. They did know, but were unsure what their Ka spirits would be like since they've never summoned one before. They've also never seen Merle's or Nenet's Ka spirits either, which is strange to them.

"People usually get them early or late. You two are probably late bloomers," Arthur explained. "Rebecca is still waiting for her Ka spirit to appear, and I already know what mine is."

Melody mentioned her duel monster spirit is called 'Enchanting Mermaid', making her gush and talk about how pretty her Ka is. They remembered Duke mentioning about his, but wouldn't tell them until their Ka spirits came so they can introduce them to one another. For now, Yugi and Ryou must wait until the time comes.

Yugi sat down on the bed and got under the covers, sitting up so he could look at Ryou. "Have you found anything yet?"

Ryou flipped another page. "I believe so. Since the pink solution caused a reaction to the ingredients I used to make the medicine, maybe we need to recreate it and it can take us back home."

"Are you certain it will take us forward and not backward?"

"There's a chance it may or may not do that, but we must take the risk. I'm able to find the ingredients we need to recreate the pink solution. However, the ingredients are located in different areas so we must be careful."

"We'll need to ask Mr. Hawkins about the areas so we will know which places are dangerous and which ones are not."

"Agreed. We must stay hidden so no one will see us. Like Rebecca said, we avoid crossing paths with anyone who is involved with the Red Roses or White Roses. Getting involved with their war is something we cannot do. We have to stay safe and alive."

"So much for meeting our favorite characters from the story," Yugi laid down on the bed. "Are you ready to sleep? We gotta wake up in the crack of dawn to water the plants and move some stuff."

"I will later. Let me finish reading it, and I'll blow the candle."

"Alright then. Goodnight, Ryou."

"Goodnight, Yugi."

The next day

Carefully placing the potted plant on top of the shelf, Yugi placed another one next to it. While he is busy organizing the flowers, Ryou is watering them and giving them some fresh fertilizer. Snowflake and Thumper are busy sniffing the flowers, remembering not to get too close so they wouldn't smell the pollen.

Due to an increase in sales for roses and other rare flowers, the shop had been extremely busy. Rebecca and Melody are busy tending the customers, while both Yugi and Ryou are keeping stock on which flowers they have available. They made sure to stay hidden from view so no one would see them. The reason the shop had been so busy is because of tonight's ball.

Earlier, Melody barged in and excitedly told Rebecca that everyone in the village is invited for the Lancaster Ball. To be admitted, they all must wear a fancy outfit and have a mask on them to conceal their faces. The Lancaster Ball is celebrating the season when their red roses have bloomed. Not only that, the royal family of Lancaster will be there. Everyone is hoping to get a glimpse of the king, queen, and their prince.

"Melody is lucky her pearl necklace came on time! Now I can wear it with my beautiful, new dress and mask!" Melody squealed in delight.

Rebecca bonked her head, but not too hard to hurt her. "Less talking, more working! We have customers to attend to!"

Yugi and Ryou did remember the last masked ball they went to, and it was a year ago in the Celestial Kingdoms. Queen Cecelia wanted to celebrate the day her village was found, and hosted a ball in her castle. Everyone was invited, and they all wore masks and the best outfits. They only danced a little with a couple of maidens, and mostly spent their time enjoying the food or watching their friend Duke dancing with many maidens at the ball.

Today, the Lancaster Ball is being held tonight and it looks like Melody is planning on going. It will be dangerous to go there, so the boys will remain in the flower shop while Melody, Rebecca, and Arthur Hawkins go there to have fun. Plus, they don't have any masks or suits to go there besides their own uniforms.

But then, evening time started to approach and the shop closed down after the last customer left. As Rebecca finished counting the money, Melody started staring at the boys from head to toe. She placed her finger on her chin, as her expression turned perceptive.

Yugi looked down at his cloak, and then back at her. "Is there something on our clothes, Melody?"

Ryou glanced at his outfit. "I do not see any stains or anything. Is there a bug then?"

Melody gasped and snapped her fingers. "Melody knows the perfect outfit for you two!"

Rebecca finished counting the money, placed it in a safe box, and then hid it from view. "Outfit for what?"

Melody spun around to face her. "For the ball! I know what they must wear for the masked ball!"

"The masked ball? You do realize someone would recognize them based on their hair, right?"

"Melody has an idea to hide their identity, and for them to enjoy the ball with us!"

"Wait! They're coming with us!?"

"They will keep Melody and Rebecca safe from danger if we stay in a group together! Just us 4 girls!"

Rebecca looked at the ceiling for a moment, and then frowned as she placed her hands on her hips. "I understand why, but we will take a carriage to go to the ball. We won't walk there."

Yugi raised his hand up. "We're confused here. Are we actually going to the ball?"

Melody happily nodded. "Yes you are! Melody will not be happy if you refuse!"

Ryou scratched the side of his head. "But why? Like Rebecca said, someone would see our hair and think we're impersonating their prince and knight."

"Melody shall take care of that! Rebecca and I will give you both a makeover and make you two beautiful!"

"I am!?" Rebecca asked in disbelief. "How exactly am I gonna do that?"

"Go upstairs and wait for me! Melody will be right back!" she winked at her and quickly left the shop.

The boys looked at each other, and then at Rebecca. She shrugged her shoulders, confused on what her friend is talking about. Whatever idea Melody has, it will either work or it won't work. Hopefully, the idea isn't crazy.

"Melody, I can't believe you thought of a plan like this!"

"It is a great plan!"

"Now I have doubts! I don't think your idea can work!"

Melody pouted. "Melody thinks it's a great plan!"

"Are you certain that disguising them as maidens would fool anyone?" Rebecca sighs. "We need to alter their figures, have them wear dresses, put makeup on them, and style their hairs so they would resemble an innocent maiden."

"We both already did that. We helped them put on corsets so they would have a feminine figure, picked out their dresses and helped them wear it, and now we must give them a makeover," Melody giggled, holding her hands up in front of her as she closed her eyes while smiling. "It will be so much fun! We will help them look beautiful!"

Rebecca face-palmed. "Except they're people, not dolls. Also, they will never talk to us after this."

"Melody thinks they will thank us!" Melody opened the curtains and peeked her head in. "Are you two ready to come out? Melody and Rebecca are waiting!"

Yugi covered his blushing face. "W-We are not coming out!"

Ryou hid behind him. "H-He's right! This is too embarrassing!"

Melody saw their dresses and squealed. "They look perfect on you! Please come out so Rebecca can see them!"

"No way! She'll laugh at us!"

"Our animals are also outside! We can't let them see us like this!"

Snowflake & Thumper tilted their heads, and gazed at the curtains with the girls. Rebecca rolled her eyes. "Stop this childish behavior at once and come out! You two were raised in a castle, trained to be a knight and healer, and you're both scared to come out because you're wearing a dress!?"

"Its hard to move when you're wearing a corset!" Yugi cried out while flushed.

"Yugi, I won't laugh at you and Ryou. I just want you two to come outside so I can see those dresses. Will you two please do that?" Rebecca pleaded.

"Melody will be really happy if you do that!" Melody added and went over to stand next to Rebecca.

The two girls waited, hoping they would listen and come out. It lasted for a couple of minutes, but then the curtains parted and both boys stepped out in their new outfits. Melody clapped her hands in delight while Rebecca's eyes widened in disbelief at how amazing they now look.

Snowflake mewed as she saw Yugi's dress, which to her is pretty. A noble medieval dress that is off the shoulder and floor-length shaded in dark purple that causes the fabric to shine from silk; with a round neckline to reveal the elegant dress worn below it. Criss-cross patterns tied by a lilac ribbon appeared on the front part of the dress where a black fabric is, and tied into a bow around the waist. Silver trimmings appeared on the back part of the round neckline, stretching vertically down to the hem of the dress.

His sleeves are long and wide, the flow broken up just below the shoulders where they're divided by slender, stylish bands. A mixture of purple and black is separated, almost like he is wearing a black dress with a long, purple dress coat over it. Around his neck is his pendant necklace with the purple rose painted on it.

Thumper wiggled his nose as he gazed at Ryou's dress: an elegant, silky sky blue gown that is off the shoulder and reaches the floor. With a round neckline with blue lacy trimmings on it, the sleeves were a little puffy and stopped at his elbows. A blue ribbon is tied around his waist, and floral designs were sewed on the fabric's top, waist, and bottom front near the hem. Hung around his neck is his pendant necklace with the white lily flower painted on it.

Yugi hugged his arms, blushing as he and Ryou felt stares on them. "This is way too embarrassing."

Ryou nodded, and rubbed his arms. "Also a little chilly."

Sparkles appeared in Melody's eyes as she swooned at their dresses. "They fit you perfectly! Next is to do your hair and makeup!"

She dragged them over to the makeup stand and began doing Ryou's makeup, while Rebecca is busy doing Yugi's makeup. The boys were ordered not to move around too much, and to endure it since beauty is important and they must endure the pain in order to look beautiful. Soon, the makeup was done and the girls began to style their hairs.

After a lot of brushing and different styles, they were able to decide on the best ones for the boys. Yugi had his hair brushed down and made into an elegant braid decorated with flowers slung over his right shoulder, and a purple flower is attached on the side of his head. Ryou had his hair brushed down, and styled into a half up half down rope braid with tiny flowers added in the braid, and a white flower is pinned on the side of his head.

As they finished, Rebecca and Melody looked at them and then at each other, causing them to squeal in delight as they looked at them again. The makeup they gave them brought out their eyes, lips, and skin. Taming their hair had been a challenge, but they were able to achieve it and now their male friends look like beautiful maidens.

Rebecca remembered they needed to wear the proper footwear, so she quickly found some shoes they can wear and helped them put it on: a pair of black Mary Janes for Yugi, and green Mary Janes for Ryou. She got up and helped them get up. "You two are now ready!"

"Now its our turn to get ready! Wait right here, boys!" Melody dragged Rebecca to another room.

A few minutes later, they came out wearing different dresses. Rebecca wore a red and pink noble medieval dress that almost resembled Yugi's dress, except it covered her shoulders and the trimmings were golden. A golden locket is hung around her neck, and she still had her glasses on.

Melody wore a navy blue ball gown with golden trimmings, poofy sleeves that puff out and reached down to her wrists, floral designs on the bottom part of her dress, buttons on the top front of her dress, white laces on the sleeves, and a pearl necklace hung around her neck along with a pair of earrings to match.

"You ladies look lovely," Ryou said.

Yugi nodded. "Those dresses suit you well."

Rebecca blushed, while Melody giggled. Soon, the girls did their makeup on each other and styled their hairs. Rebecca had her hair styled into a bun, while Melody had her hair down but curled. They then put on their Mary Jane shoes, in which Rebecca wore red while Melody wore black. As they got up and admired each other, Rebecca opened a drawer and pulled out a box.

Placing the box on a table, she opened it and pulled out 4 masks and handed one to each. "Before we go inside the ball, we must wear these masks. They won't let us in if we do not wear them. So take good care of them and do not lose your mask."

Yugi looked at his mask, which is a silver purple design with floral lines covered in sparkles and an amethyst gem sticking on the top. Ryou's mask is a light, blue color with darker blue sparkles shaded around the eyeholes and a diamond shape patter on the forehead. Silver trimmings were designed at the edges, along with silver floral lines covered in sparkles.

Melody's mask is navy blue with black lacy trimmings on them, along with a blue rose and black feather pinned to the side. Rebecca's mask is a golden color with trimmings, and a yellow rose is pinned to the side with a fabric stretched out like a fan.

They put them on, and the only thing shown on their faces are their eyes and mouth. Luckily, the shoes Yugi and Ryou wore are easier to walk in, so they will not have trouble moving around and avoid tripping. Snowflake mewed, and Thumper squeaked.

Yugi patted his kitten's head. "You two stay here. Since you both already ate dinner, its best you get some sleep. We will be back before it gets really late."

Ryou stroked Thumper's head. "Please be on your best behavior. Do not cause any trouble, okay?"

They rubbed themselves against their masters, causing the boys to laugh and pet them more. Melody giggled at their antics, while Rebecca smiled. "Lets go downstairs, boys. Our carriage awaits us."

"You got a carriage for us?" Yugi asked.

"Mako has a friend who lets us use the carriage whenever we like. He's a little shy and goofy, but very kind. I think you'll get along with him well," Rebecca clapped. "Now, let us leave so we will arrive for the ball on time."
