My three youngest brothers had never watched any 'classical Disney movies', and my other younger brother had little to no memory of them, until, like, January, when we watched The Lion King, and then in April when we tried to make a habit of watching one every week. Their ages were 12, 10 (while I'm writing this but 13 and 11 when I post this story), 7, and 5. All of us older, more sophisticated siblings, were absolutely appalled by our failure as their brethren and sistren. Obviously, we had to fix it. By the time I realized how sad their life had been, this idea had already popped into my mind.

So, obviously, I was able to add to it by projecting my younger brothers into Black Sheep/Carmen Sandiego and we five older kids into Player.

Second, I know that the Carmen Sandiego novel "Clue by Clue" revealed that Carmen and Player have never physically met, but for the sake of this I'm casting that aside. AU time!

(:)

"Yeah!" Player agreed instantly, and the newly named – as of one day ago – Carmen Sandiego heard his chair squeak, a clear sound that he was jumping in his chair. "Absolutely. I'd love for you to come here! We can do so much together! We can get you proper clothes since you only have the jacket, hat, and jumpsuit… oh, and, like, a laptop or tablet so we can FaceTime in high def… maybe a phone for mobile communication."

"That sounds amazing!" Carmen squealed readily in excitement, slipping on said jacket with a grin as she peered out of the window on her hotel bedroom's wall. The sun in Laayoune shining through without any clouds blocking its beams. "And you can show me all those… uh, 'movies' that I never saw; the poor, naïve, indolent child that I am."

"That's right. You are quite oblivious. I, however, shall be your master, young padawan." Player paused, fingers drumming against his desk. "I'm thinking The Incredibles is a good first movie… or one of the classics! Like 101 Dalmatians, Treasure Planet, Aristocats, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi, Snow White! Man, you've been missing out on so much."

"It's not Aristocats, it's Aristocrats. There's an 'r' in there." Carmen corrected, ignoring his snort. "But, Player, we'll have, like, a week to see them all! Can we do the tour-stuff at Niagara Falls?" Carmen asked, perking up. "Or can we go to a mall? Or a 'pizza' place? I've never had pizza before, but Gray said it was really good, and I want to try it really bad, but it's okay if we don't, oh, am I rambling-?"

"Sheep – uh, Carmen, we will literally do all of that and more!" Player promised with a laugh. "We can even go down the falls in a barrel if you wanted- wait, no, we're not doing that, that was a joke, Carmen! Don't you dare even consider doing that! That's very bad! I'm fairly certain adults died from that!"

"Aw, well, you're no fun." Carmen determined, plugging her headphones into her ears, activating them.

"I'm safer than your adopted-parents are, that's for sure." Player huffed, having been given Carmen's entire backstory almost a day earlier when she had been on the boat ride away from her former home. "Less fun? Maybe. But more cautious is better in the long run."

"Oof, being safe burns." Carmen grunted with fake pain, clutching at her heart. "Hey, and I'm just saying, but you don't have to even come along on the barrel ride. I can go alone, and you can be that dude who goes 'I knew that person who went over Niagara Falls in a barrel, probably illegally. She died, but we were pals' or even that one dude who just looks at the grave and says, 'I told you so'."

"Huh. Okay, yeah, just pulled it up, someone did go over the falls in a barrel about one hundred years ago, and- wait, why are you talking like it's a given that you're doing it? You better not, or I will literally dig you out of your grave to yell at you."

"I'll take you up on that." Carmen fondly bantered back, placing one hand firmly on her hip. She shoved the VILE hard drive into an inside pocket, rolling up the edges of her coat so that they didn't come so close to the ground, managing to snap them into place. "I love Cookie's coat, but it's too long for me. I'm excited for my growth spirt."

"Here-here." Player concurred with a sigh. "Waiting for a growth spirt defines my entire life. I haven't grown since I was, like, ten."

Carmen chuckled at that, glancing in the mirror as she tried to clip her hair back with a random hair pin she had found on the chair in the hotel room. It failed, so she reluctantly sighed and settled it back down. "So, check in with your parents?"

"I'll do that right now while it's on my mind!" Player announced, his chair squeaking again as he probably turned it around. "Call you back later!"

"See ya!" She waved, hanging up as she heard him dash off. Exiting the hotel room, she hoped his family's answer was yes.

(:)

"Hey, Sheep." Player sighed when he called her back seven hours late, groaning with reluctance and sorrow. (Carmen noticed he forgot to use her real name again… it really didn't bother her much, though.) "So…umm…"

"What? Did they say no?" Carmen asked, staring at the table in front of her in the mini café in the airport she was now seated in, squeezing her tea cup tightly. Her shoulders hunched as she awaited the words that would delay her personally meeting with Player even longer.

"Nope!" Player's voice dropped any bit of sadness and instead filled with joy. "Got you! They said 'yes!' They're all for it! I think they're mostly relieved that their introvert son has a friend that is obviously not a pigment of his overactive imagination. They said that there's no way they're going to make me pass up the opportunity to officially meet you, especially if you have the time and money to come! They also said that you can have the guest bedroom and don't need to get a hotel elsewhere. So, guess who gets to live with us for a week?"

"This little lost lamb." Carmen beamed, sipping at her tea happily. "I can't wait to meet you. This is going to be great! How are we going to do this? I'm waiting for my flight to go to Madrid… so, do I bounce around for a while until you find a free time in your schedule, or-?"

"I talked to my parents about it! So, Winter Break is about two weeks long, right? My parents said that I could have one week off whenever you come to visit, and then my second week off around Christmas. So, while we could wait one or two weeks so that I can have Winter Break at the usual time, we could still just reschedule your next flight for here. Sure, you'd have little to no time to tour Spain, but Spain won't be going anywhere."

"True." Carmen admitted with a nod, a smile blossoming over her face. "So, head to Madrid and you'll schedule a flight to Ontario, and I'll be there in-?"

"A day and a half at most." He promised readily. "What's your flight number? I can evaluate when the next plane leaves for Ontario using that."

Carmen straightened, heart gleefully skipping at the thought.
