Chapter 1: The Heist

Ten months after the 'event', as Remi Reyes came to call it, had yielded a big lifestyle change for her. Remi had come to hate her new life and the man who forced her into it. Ten months ago, Oscar Rodriguez had 'asked' Remi to help out with his criminal enterprise. That is how Remi landed here, sitting in a warehouse, surrounded by Rodriguez's lackeys. The man had her do various things that Remi wasn't comfortable with like stealing and at time patching up Rodriguez's men when they got shot or roughed up.

Remi would have gone to the police ten months ago, but the night she had met the man, Rodriguez had threatened her friends at STAR Labs if she did. Remi had decided that whatever happened, she would not bring her friends into this mess. That didn't stop Remi from checking in on her friends two weeks after the 'event'. What Remi found out upset her more than she was letting these days. Ronnie Raymond, someone who Remi considered a brother, was one of the people counted among the dead that night.

Remi remembered the day she met Ronnie and her other two friends. Ronnie had come in to the medical wing at STAR Labs when he got a concussion from working on the pipeline. Remi was working when Ronnie had come in and after checking that he was alright, Ronnie had asked if Remi wanted to come hang out with him, his girlfriend, Caitlin Snow, and their other friend Francisco 'Cisco' Ramon. After that night, Remi spent any free time with three. Her time spent with the three were the best time Remi at STAR Labs. Looking back tho, Remi remembered more of her time spent with Cisco than with Caitlin and Ronnie. By the time they were all introduced to each other, Caitlin and Ronnie had been dating for almost three months.

"Hey, sugar, what's going on in that pretty head of yours?" One of Rodriguez's men asked.

"Like I would tell you," Remi snarled at the man. To bad for him that Remi didn't bother to learn his name, or any of the names of Rodriguez's men's names. "Besides, we have work to do. Now, let's go over the plan one last time."

"So, the diamonds are located here," sugar man started, pointed at one of Central City's banks. "At Gold City Bank. The diamonds are located in the safety deposit box of one of Central City's wealthiest men: Liam Miller. First things first, we need to get Miller's key and the bank key to open the deposit box, which we have. Second thing is to disable the security camera's and the alarm's. Once we get the diamonds, we have to get out fast."

"I'm guessing we don't want to run into the cops?"

"That and the streak. Besides, I know a guy that can help with the streak problem."

"Let me guess, Leonard Snart?!" Remi questioned.

"Yes, Leonard Snart. You know, he has gotten a hit on the streak with that ice gun thing!"

Remi rolled her eyes, but Remi knew Snart was the best of the best of thieves. That didn't stop Remi from not trusting Snart. If Remi had to put her finger on why, it was probably because Remi still had her morals from before she got recruited to Rodriguez's crime family.

It was eleven pm the next night when Remi walked up to the meeting spot. Sugar man and two others were waiting as well as Snart. Remi was pessimistic about the whole thing. It was bad enough that if the cops found them, they all went to prison. But, the threat of the streak scared Remi ever so slightly more. Remi had heard that the last couple of people with odd powers being detained by the streak. That was the last thing Remi wanted at the moment.

"Hey, kid. You ready?" Snart was the one to pull Remi out of her thoughts as she stopped next to him. Remi raised an eyebrow at Snart's outfit.

"I didn't know it was supposed to snow, Snart," Remi shot back. "Have you guys knocked out the security camera's yet?"

"Yes, but only for the next 15 minutes, we need to hurry," sugar man said.

"Then let's go, we got the kid here now," Snart got the two's attention.

Remi nodded. Remi adjusted the black hoodie she had on as she followed the four men into the bank. As per the plan, Snart and two of the man would wait out in the front lobby of the bank while Remi and sugar man went to the room with the deposit boxes were kept. As the group split up, Remi's nerves skyrocketed. Remi made her way to the deposit boxes with sugar man as she scanned which one they needed.

"Here it is," Remi quietly said, pointing to the correct man nodded as the pair made their way to box. "You got Miller's key, right?"

"Yeah, right here," sugar man replied, pulling out the key stolen off of Miller. "You got the other?"

Remi nodded at the question before moving over to the box in question. Sugar man followed closely after Remi. Remi shot a quick glance behind her before turning back around and there he was, the streak. Remi huffed a little when she saw him standing there. The group obviously weren't going to get the diamonds.

"Nice try, guys," the streak said. "But you guys aren't going to be stealing anything today."

"Says who?" Sugar man questioned.

"Says me!"

Remi slowly backed away as sugar man started trying to attack the streak. She made it about half way to the door be fore sugar man went down and the streak was in front of her. Remi stopped where she was. Remi stared at him with big eyes.

"So, are you going to try and hit me too?" The streak asked her.

"Not r-really," Remi stuttered. "Not that I'm-m wan-nting to go o prison, e-either."

"Yeah, well, you are in a bank after closing, trying to get something out a deposit box that I'm sure doesn't belong to you, with at least three armed men plus Snart. I'm pretty sure you are going to jail for this."

If possible, Remi's eyes went slightly bigger. "You can't," Remi whispered. "You just can't. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless you can help me with something," Remi said, feeling a slight shimmer of hope in her gut. What she was about to propose was crazy, but it might work. For her and the streak.

"Go on."

A/N: Sorry to end this on a cliff hanger, but I wanted to get the next chapter up. I am actually glad at how this turned out. I will be starting the next chapter soon and I am hoping to post that chapter up soon as well.
