Sakura was walking through the streets of Konoha making her way to the hospital. She heard from Ino that the retrieval team hospitalized. She wanted to check on Naruto, but she was also wanted to see if Naruto had kept his promise and brought back Sasuke. She suddenly went to the receptionist's desk.
"Good afternoon, Sakura" the receptionist said brightly with a smile on her face.
"Good afternoon" Sakura bowed to her. her mentor; the fifth Hokage, Lady Tsunade had taught her to clean up her manners. "I'm looking for Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha".
The receptionist looked through the clipboard "Naruto Uzumaki checked out a few minutes ago and i'm afraid i'm not seeing any Sasuke Uchiha".
Great, he didn't capture him she thought. She hoped he didn't hurt him too bad, she didn't want Sasuke's face permanently damaged from Naruto's senseful beatings and look bad for her when Naruto inevitably brought him back home. Not that she couldn't heal him, it was a tempting offer; considering how ofter she lusted after him. if Sasuke came back like that, She would prefer beating Naruto. Sakura went to the only place that Naruto would go to. Ichiraku's Ramen.

Sakura went to the stand, where she spotted Naruto talking to a white haired ninja.
"Hey, gaki".
"Ero-sennin!" Naruto said cheerfully while slurping his ramen.
"Quiet down, gaki" Jiraiya slapped the blonde's head.
"Oww, what was that for?" Naruto replied as he rubbed his head from the recently hit area.
"I have a reputation to keep, so keep it down".
"Fine".
"Anyways, how would you like to go on a little trip with me".
"W-What do you mean?" Naruto asked.
"Go on a trip with me, so you can train to get stronger".
"What are you kidding?, of course! Believe it!" Naruto replied excitedly.
Jiraiya laughed at his enthusiasm, only Naruto would be excited about this.
"Listen" Jiraiya said catching Naruto's attention "I think it would be best to give up on Sasuke".
"What!?" Naruto exclaimed catching the while village's attention and making Jiraiya flinch at his tone.
"We need to defeat Orochimaru and the Akatsuki, they are a bigger threat".
"Okay, i agree and i'll go with you, but i'm not giving up on Sasuke; i made a promise to someone and i intend on keeping it".
Sakura felt a sense of pride and smiled to herself while listening to the conversation. She was interrupted of her train of thought by the white haired ninja's voice.
"We leave tomorrow" Jiraiya said "Besides, i think you have an admirer".
"Huh?" Naruto looked in the direction Jiraiya was pointing.
Sakura knew she had been sensed. She slowly appeared in Naruto's line of sight.
"Sakura-chan" Naruto stood up and wiped up the remnants of ramen off his chin.
"Hey, Naruto" Sakura said as a light blush appeared on the pinkette's cheeks due to the embarrassment of the situation.
"I got to leave, but remember tomorrow" Jiraiya said to him as he stood up, Naruto nodded.
Jiraiya got up and left, Sakura sat on the seat Jiraiya was just sitting in, besides Naruto.
"How are you, Naruto?" Sakura asked as she raised a finger to indicate to Ayame that she wanted a bowl.
"I'm good, how about you?; Sakura-Chan?" Naruto asked as he flashed his classic foxy grin.
"I'm good, so i heard about you being unable to bring back Sasuke" Sakura said.
"Yeah" Naruto said sadly.
"Naruto, it's okay" Sakura put her hand on his shoulder in comfort.
Naruto seemed to relax at her touch.
"You will get him back and the sooner you get him back, the sooner me and him can go out..." As Sakura continued, Naruto was becoming more uncomfortably silent as she went on, Sakura noticed his change in his demeanor, as his happiness evaporated in the air.
"Naruto...?" Sakura said as she noticed he got up and paid for his meal. But there was more money than it actually cost for his bowl "That's for Sakura's bowl". Naruto said Teuchi, Naruto then turned to Sakura "Sakura-chan...". Sakura sat in her in stool as she listened confused at Naruto's sudden change of behavior. "Met me on the bench tonight, i have to tell you something". Naruto left as Sakura agreed. Sakura finished her ramen bowl and left for the unexpected impromptu meeting on the bench.
...
Sakura sat on the bench, while waiting for Naruto. the reason she was doing this because of Naruto's tone gave off like she wouldn't have a choice to met up with him.
"Naruto, better hurry up" she thought.
Sakura stared at the lights illuminating the bench and the night sky trying to pass the time until Naruto came.
Naruto then showed up and sat right beside her.
"Naruto, why did you ask me to come here and why did you leave at Ichiraku's Ramen like that?" Sakura asked.
Naruto breathed out as he spoke "I'm sorry about earlier, i was angry and i asked you to come here because does the bench look familiar to you?".
Sakura looked at said bench and nothing stood out.
"No" Sakura said.
"Did a certain teme come here?" Naruto said.
Sakura thought about what he said, then a memory hit her.
FLASHBACK
"You have such a charming forehead. It makes me want to kiss it" Sasuke said.
Sakura goes to kiss him as his lips pucker up, but he leaves holding his stomach.
END FLASHBACK
Sakura came back to with a blush on her cheeks "Yeah" she said euphorically with a smile on her face. Then she realized "Wait, how do you know about that?"
"Because, it wasn't Sasuke that day, it was me that said that to you. I was henged as him" Naruto said.
Sakura sat shocked, eyes widened "What?".
"It was you that said that to me?".
"Yeah" Naruto said weakly.
Sakura looked at Naruto with killer intent.
"I can't believe you did that? How could you?".
"Because, i liked your forehead and i like you; Sasuke doesn't care about you like i do. But i've been there for you. I would go through hell for you. That's why i made that promise to you because i couldn't stand to see you in pain".
"Naruto...".
"But you're all about Sasuke, you're selfish; Sakura. You never once gave me the time of day or thank me for the stuff i do for you".
"I'm leaving tomorrow for two years".
"So, goodbye, i'll see you in two years" Naruto said.
Naruto left her and said what he needed to be said and left Sakura thinking it was him and not Sasuke, it feel like he detached himself from her. Sakura sobbed then cried.
"It was you, Naruto, it was you. I hope you don't hate me, we'll talk about this when you get back". She whispered to herself to sleep
It was gonna be a long two years.
