Third Person POV:
In the far reaches of Alaska, on December 2, 1995, a young woman left a newborn baby who had only lived for an hour on a rock. For a regular person, the baby would soon die and the mother would move on. But these were not regular people. The woman was Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and hunt, a maiden goddess. And the boy was a new type of being, not a demigod, mortal, or god, but the result of 500 million years of immortal evolution, resulting in one of the most powerful beings to walk the surface of the earth.
The baby was strange, it was easy to see. Silver blood flowed through his veins, and he didn't need sustenance to survive. He was immune to disease. He was partially immortal, only able to die in battle. His mother, Artemis, didn't break her vow of maidenhood. She had always wanted a child, but her oath had made that impossible. So she took part of her divine essence and used it to create a child like no other, one that would be as strong as a major god if he grew to adulthood. However, Artemis didn't want a boy. She wanted a daughter, someone who she could add to her hunt. But since her hunters would never accept a boy child, she left him to die, hoping that she would never see him again.
However, events progressed a different way. The boy survived, due to his partial immortality. He was an independent spirit, one with power over the moon, inhuman endurance, and an urge to make things right. He was Perseus, the destroyer, the avenger, the Son of Artemis.
By the time he reached 2 years old, he could speak fluently. When he turned 4, he could shoot an arrow with godly accuracy. When he became 7, he could take down a pack of lions single-handedly and walk away without a single cut. When he turned 8, he was found by a 17-year-old blond-haired, blue-eyed boy, who had the same kind of fiery determination, to avenge themselves, and bring down the people who wrecked their lives. The boy's name was Luke Castellan.
8 Years Later.
Perseus's POV:
Today, I was hunting a herd of deer. As soon as I killed 4 of them, and let the rest run off, I was approached by 4 kids, all boys. The one in the lead had blue eyes and blond hair. He asked me "who's your godly parent?" "Godly what?" I asked him. He told me to follow him and introduced himself as Luke.
"What do you see?" asked Luke, holding out his sword. I responded, a bit confused, with "It's a sword, what else could it be?"
At this, Luke got very excited and after looking at my auburn hair and silver eyes, introduced me to another boy named Chris. Chris led me to an archery range and told me to shoot at the target from 50 yards out. I've been practicing archery since I was born, so I managed to get a bulls-eye, and then split the arrow I shot before on every shot. After about ten shots, Chris asked me to concentrate and try to create an object. After closing my eyes for about 15 seconds, a silver knife appeared in front of me. I suddenly felt very dizzy and would've collapsed to the ground if Chris hadn't caught me. Chris said "It is confirmed" before leading me to a table. He explained to me that the gods in Greek mythology are alive because humans remember them. Then, he explained that somehow, I was the son of Artemis.
"But wait," I said. "I thought Artemis was a maiden goddess."
Chris nodded, "She is." "Then how does a maiden goddess have a child?" I asked.
Chris replied, "We don't know. Maybe she broke her oath of maidenhood. Even if she didn't, there are other ways for a child to be born."
I decided to drop the subject for now. Chris handed me a ring that turned into a special silver bow that could create different types of arrows by pulling back the string and a belt buckle that revealed dual hunting knives when the center was pressed. I thought it was so cool and couldn't wait to try it out. After telling Chris about this, he pulled out a huge bronze sword and asked me to attack him. He knocked both knives out of my hands in about a minute and stared at me. I asked him what he was looking at, and he said it was nothing. I felt really bad for being defeated easily but he reassured me that he had been practicing for a long time and I was great for being able to stand up to him for a full minute. Then he led me to the archery range and left me to train.
Chris's POV:
Oh my god! We literally have the only son of Artemis in existence on our side. He was confused at first but quickly took to the myths. He has to be a son of Artemis. He created a hunting knife out of moonlight! He didn't even go unconscious, just wobbled on his feet a bit. That's an extraordinary amount of power coming from someone so little. By the time he reaches 14, there's no telling how powerful he could become. After we sparred a bit, I noticed that he was bleeding silver blood, not red blood. I brushed him off when he asked about me staring at it and I left him at the archery range before rushing to talk to the sarcophagus of Lord Kronos. We had to dig through Tartarus itself to get that thing.
"Lord Kronos" I yelled, approaching the coffin. "What is it, Chris?" a low, hollow voice answered. "You won't believe what happened. We somehow found a really powerful son of Artemis." I said, stopping to take a deep breath. "How is that possible?" he asked. "I don't know," I replied. "But he could create a dagger out of moonlight and only felt a little dizzy, is the best archery shot I've ever seen and bleeds silver blood. All coming from an 8-year-old!" I exclaimed. "This is good news," Lord Kronos replied. "He will be a valuable asset on my march to take Olympus. I want him to be rigorously trained, day and night. How good of an archery shot was he?" he asked. "My lord, he could shoot a bulls-eye from 50 yards away, and then split the arrow in half on his second shot. Then he repeated that 10 times. Even the hunters couldn't do it." I said. "Do not talk about the hunters," Kronos replied. "But I want him to be trained in hunting knives as well. He will assist greatly in our plans to defeat the gods." "Yes, Lord Kronos," I said.
