Shelagh got up and answered the door. It was just January first, the girls and Teddy where playing with their parents, Tim sat reading but joining in occasionally.

Shelagh opened the door with a cheery smile, "Mother Mildred! Come in!" The nun thanked her and stepped into the foyer and took her coat off. "Patrick, could you make us some tea please?"

Shelagh and Mother Mildred met Patrick in the kitchen. "What can we do for you mother?" Patrick asked handing over a cup of hot tea.

"Well, we have been asked to take a group of people to a Scottish town for a fortnight, Nurses Franklin, Anderson, Dyer along with myself and Sister Julienne will come too, and we hoped you would come." Mother Mildred told the couple

Straight to the point, Shelagh thought, "What town?" She asked

"Hilder Lack, in Aberdeen." She supplied

"Oh," Shelagh breathed. That was her home town.

Once Mother left and the children went to bed, Shelagh began pacing the living room. Patrick came downstairs, saw his pacing wife, sat down and pulled her next to him.

"What is it?" He asked, thinking he knew the answer

"We are going aren't we? I mean I want to go, I want to help. But why did it have to be Hilder Lack?!" She exclaimed putting her head in her hands

Patrick was utterly confused, then it dawn on him. He knew she was from Aberdeen but, that must be where she was from! "Is that where you grew up?" He asked quietly

"Yes" she replied simply

"Oh darling!" He embraces her, he knew she would not want to see most the people she knew, they had talked about it over the years.

Fifteen days later, Patrick, Shelagh, Tricia, Valerie, Lucille, sister Julienne and Mother Mildred boarded the train to Hilder Lack for a fortnight.
