Hey guys this is my first attempt at an HP fic. I really like gamer fics and some of my favorite ones are of course the HP gamer fics. I'm going to try and stay as original as possible but I've found some really good ideas and concepts from the couple of !gamer Harry fics I've read. Props to michaelsuave, Concept101, and Silverrosestorm for writing they're own gamer fics (especially Concept101's), since I consider theirs to be leagues above my own. If I can actually manage to finish this story to my liking and make it decently long, I may try my hand at the famous Reptilia28 challenge since those fics are some of my favorite fics of all time no matter how many times it's been done. Last but not least I don't own Harry Potter as it belongs to Warner Bros. Studio and one J.K. Rowling and I am making no money off of this at all. I also do not own the Manwha "The Gamer" and am still not making any money from this although if you want to understand the mechanics and certain things more you may want to go read it on or using the Webtoon app. (No I seriously recommend it, it's soo good and has tons of chapters to bing read especially during quarantine)

As dawn breaks in Privet Drive, all are sound asleep in their comfy beds dreaming sweet dreams. All but one small boy who goes by the name Harry James Potter. Unbeknownst to him he just so happens to be the most famed wizard in all of Europe for surviving the Killing Curse and defeating the most feared Dark Lord in all of Europe, Lord Voldemort, gaining the moniker, "The Boy Who Lived".

While everyone is sleeping soundly in their comfortable beds, poor Harry is shivering on a small cot in a cupboard under the stairs with nothing but the clothes on his back and a blanket, barely big enough for a toddler let alone a malnourished 10 year old. But soon that would all change as Harry woke up with a start, in front of him a light blue screen.

"Uncle Vernon must've shoved me into my cupboard harder than I thought", muttered the young boy. He quickly rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and cleaned his glasses on his shirt before looking back at where the screen was. 'I must still be dreaming', he thought before pinching himself as hard as he could. "Owww" he mouthed as he knew that he would be in for a beating should he wake up his rotten relatives. "Ok then, most definitely NOT a dream", he whispered to himself.

After assuring himself he was not dreaming or delusional he read the screen, it read:

WELCOME GAMER! YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY GAIA TO BECOME THIS UNIVERSE'S GAMER. PLEASE CLICK THE ARROW TO PROCEED WITH THE TUTORIAL.

"I wonder what a gamer is, and who's Gaia? Why did they choose me?", deciding to follow the command he pressed the small arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen. To his utter surprise the text was replaced with new text:

THE GAMER IS A BEING CHOSEN BY THE EARTH (GAIA) TO BE THE PROTECTER OF HIS OR HER UNIVERSE AGAINST AN ULTIMATE EVIL. THIS POSITION GRANTS IMMENSE POWER BUT COMES WITH EQUAL RESPONSIBILITY, FOR THOSE WHO MISUSE THIS POWER OFTEN FIND THEMSELVES EITHER DEAD OR WISHING FOR DEATH.

'Yeesh,' thought Harry 'better not mess this up because otherwise I might as well wake up the Dursley's at the buttcrack of dawn with an airhorn and a bucket of water'.

ONE OF THE BASIC ABILITIES OF THE GAMER'S POWER IS STATUS. TO ACTIVATE THE ABILITY SIMPLY INTONE OR THINK THE WORD "STATUS". STATUS REVEALS THE ABILITIES OF THE GAMER IN THE FORMAT OF : STR, VIT, AGL, DEX, INT, WIS, LUK, CHA.

STR: STRENGTH, THIS DETERMINES HOW MUCH YOU CAN LIFT AND HOW MUCH DAMAGE YOU CAN DO WITH PHYSICAL ATTACKS.

VIT: VITALITY DETERMINES YOUR ENDURANCE AND HOW MUCH HEALTH/HP YOU HAVE.

AGL: AGILITY, THIS DETERMINES HOW FAST YOU CAN RUN AND YOUR REFLEXES.

DEX: DEXTERITY, IT DETERMINES HOW WELL YOU DO IN THINGS THAT REQUIRE FINESSE (I.E. LOCKPICKING, PICKPOCKETING, AIMING, ETC).

INT: INTELLIGENCE, THIS DETERMINES HOW WELL YOU REMEMBER THINGS AND HOW LARGE YOUR MANA/MP POOL IS.

WIS: WISDOM, HOW WELL YOU CAN MAKE GOOD JUDGEMENT CALLS AND HOW WELL YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR MANA/MP AS WELL AS HOW FAST IT REGENERATES.

LUK: LUCK, DEPENDING ON WETHER OR NOT LADY LUCK IS SMILING ON YOU IS DEPENDENT ON YOUR LUCK LEVEL. THE HIGHER YOUR LUCK LEVEL IS, THE HIGHER THE CHANCES OF CRITICAL HITS AND RARE LOOT DROPPING.

CHA: CHARISMA, SOMETIMES BRUTE FORCE IS NOT ALWAYS THE ANSWER, SOMETIMES HAVING A SILVER TONGUE CAN GET YOU OUT OF A STICKY SITUATION. USING CHARISMA YOU CAN BEFRIEND PEOPLE FASTER THAN NORMAL, GIVE INSPIRING SPEECHES EASIER, HAGGLE DOWN PRICES, AND MAKE LIES MORE BELIEVABLE NO MATTER HOW ABSURD OR OUT OF THIS WORLD THEY ARE.

'Wow, that is a lot of information to digest', thought Harry, not completely believing the fact that he's been given such a great power with the ability for so much good considering the rotten luck he's had in his life so far. "Okay so all I have to do is think the screen I want to get? Alright then." 'Status', thought Harry after swiping away the window. To his delight another light blue window appeared with his name at the top with a description of him.

At this Harry had several questions but 3 stuck out the most, "Why in the world do I have so many negatives to my stats? Why do I have such high charisma? Why is my luck just 3 question marks?" Harry's mind being sufficiently fried decided to go back to sleep until his Aunt Petunia woke him up and let him out of his cupboard to finish sorting through all of this new information.

Well? How was it? I hope it wasn't too long or tedious. My only gripe about the whole gamer aspect is that it takes a while to explain and even then I don't think I do a very good job. Please comment to give me feedback on my work if there's anything you think you could point out, and by "feedback" I MEAN FEEDBACK. I will not tolerate people just hating on my work for no reason. If you have a legitimate concern or opinion on this feel free to comment but if you're just going to post stuff like "You suck, go kill yourself, give up writing, this story is atrocius, etc." You can just delete it because I don't care. I'm doing this for fun and because I want to try my hand at it. If you do post that kind of crap anyways you're just wasting keystrokes and brain cells.
