Repaying a Dept.

Prologue

Soul Regained

An endless void of darkness surrounds her. Her senses fail, she cannot even scream. All she feels is the inhuman rage that fills her. Rage towards the damnable dragon that mocked her by calling itself a god. It was he that trapped her in this hell.

She, the guardian goddess of Termina, remembered the battle. In the great canyon in Termina's east the ground split in two, a gateway from the Netherworld to the mortal world. The Dragon rose with his followers to wreak havoc across the world. Termina's Four Giants appeared to fight but they were overwhelmed, that was when she appeared.

A large bluish-green sword in the shape of a double helix in her left hand, she delivered divine retribution upon the Dragon's Legion, making them repent for their sins. Fighting the Dragon himself was easy. She remembers standing over its broken body, her sword to his throat.

"This farce is over Majora. You have lost." To her surprise the Dragon began to laugh. "I disagree." From his mouth he unleashes a torrent of hellfire at her, engulfing her completely. It did not harm her much, if anything it was a minor annoyance, she guessed it was supposed to stun her . The Dragon began to chat in a language unfamiliar to her

"A succ ifed kxo fenoh ev kxo Netherworld-"

She dashed towards Majora and impaled him through his chest, straight through his heart. Coughing up blood he finishes his chant."- ke… khuf mo odomo… veh okohdako!" a dark wave of energy burst from the Dragon's body engulfing them both. For the first in her long life she felt immense pain, then she knew nothing back darkness.

A warm golden light touches her skin. Opening her eyes, she sees a figure standing before her. She notices the light is coming from his left hand. A familiar light and power, the Triforce. A relic created by her mother and aunts eons ago.

"Umm…who are you?" The figure asks with a child's voice. Suddenly they both scream as though lighting strikes through their bodies. She grabs her head as memories that didn't belong to her rush through her mind. She sees the figure, a young boy, in a forest, inside a great tree, a volcano, a giant fish, then suddenly he was older and wielding a familiar blade. She then understood.

'A CHILD!? My mother and aunts forced a CHILD TO CLEAN UP THEIR MESS THIS TIME!?' rage coursed through her once more. It reached a breaking point when she saw the boy's recent memories.

"MAJORA!"she roars. The boy steps back and his hand instinctively reaches for a sword on his back that isn't there.

She grabs him by his shoulders. "Listen boy. I am the Mask you have on. This body is mine. Surrender control to me so I can kill that demon Majora."

"I-"

"That wasn't a request boy." Her eyes shine a white light. Next thing she knew she was in a room. Psychedelic was the only word she could think of to describe it. In front of her is a Majora's Mask. Truthfully, she didn't care how the dragon became a mask. She just wanted it dead.

Summing her sword, she charged at her old enemy. Four other masks prepare to attack her, but they are destroyed with a single slash. Majora's Mask flattens itself and spins at her, she easily grabs it and slams it on the ground with enough force to creak it.

The mask roars and releases a shock-wave that knocks her back. The Mask floats once more and grows long narrow arms on its side and legs below it, on top is a large eye. It starts to literally dance around the arena with inhuman speed taking cheap shots at her.

Channeling her power into her blade she unleashes a barrage of energy disks at Majora, smiling as the energy causes his body to burn with blue fire. Majora screams at her as his body becomes more human like, having a more realistic structure, besides the whips for hands

His voice deeper, he yells "HOW!? You should be dead after all these years! How are you so strong?!"

She simply laughs at him. A laugh that shakes the room because of her power. "How? Is it not obvious? I am a Fierce Goddess you idiot." She narrows her eyes at him. " And a pathetic little shit like you will never truly beat me"

She fires another energy disk at Majora who dodges then unleashes both of his hand whips at her. She easily grabs them and wraps them around her arm for a better grip.

"GET OVER HERE!" With a roar she pulls Majora towards her with his own hand whips. When he gets close, she punches him in his face full force. He falls beside her.

She tugs once more at the hand whips and with another yell she uses them to slam Majora into the wall hard, creaking it greatly. Then she pulls him over her shoulder slamming him onto the ground. Grabbing his arms proper she rips them off then knelling she grabs his head with a vice-like grip and slams his head onto the ground. Each hit caused the crater at her feet to widen.

Finally, she stands tall. Majora broken before her. Grabbing her sword once more she impales the mask that makes up Majora's chest. It glows blue and Majora's body bursts into flames, disintegrating him.

She lets out a sigh. Finally, he is dead. Suddenly her body shines green. "What the…?" a green orb exists her chest and glows bright. The boy from earlier appears before her, unconscious. She picks him up easily in her arms. "Let's get you out of here Link. This place will probably self-destruct soon with him here." Because she saw his memories earlier, she is aware they are in a moon of Majora's creation.

Right on cue the room begins to violently shake. Making sure Link is securely in her arms she uses her power to teleport them out.

She watches from a distance as Link wakes up in the middle of Termina field. She smiles a bit as he is berated by a small pale fairy for confronting Majora alone. He just smiles awkwardly and apologizes.

She decides to slip away unnoticed. In her hand is her mask the boy used to awaken her; she took it before he woke up. Glaring at it her she crushes it in her hand and grinds it to dust under her boot. Making her way into the Termina woods she rests under a tree. "Kid. I owe you. Thanks to you I am free

from my curse. " In the old days she developed a reputation as a brutal, fierce warrior but she wasn't without honor. She will repay Link one day, question is how?

Going through the memories she received when she and Link shared a body gave her an easy answer. "He is a kid this time. Why would They allow that?" Thousands of years ago her aunt Farore told her about a Champion of Hyrule named Link and how he would reincarnate to defended Hyrule. She doesn't know why though but she suspected her mother and aunts had something to do with it.

Which means either that Ganondorf character was so pathetic a child could defeat him, which technically did happen, or her mother and aunts are all sick beings sending a child through hell for shits and giggles.

She looks up to the heavens with a glare. "I, Kana, Guardian Goddess of Termina vow to one day repay my debt to Link, the Champion of Hyrule, by training his next incarnation so that when evil rises again in Hyrule he will be ready. I will stay with him until that evil is defeated."

She glows a white light then a white inverted triangle appears on her left hand, becoming a permanent mark to symbolize her vow. Standing tall she inhales the fresh air. She has a lot of free time until Hyrule will need a Link again, so it's time to continue her old job.

Termina's guardian, The Fierce Deity Kana, daughter of Hyrule's Goddess of Power Din, has returned.

Author's Note: I hope you enjoyed this beginning to my first multi-chapter story!

If I may take a moment to answer what I imagine might be common questions I bet most will have

Termina being its own place; back in 2018 the Zelda Encyclopedia was released and made Termina just a odd world created by Majora and Skull Kid canon. Personally I think this is ridicules and eliminates all potential for future stories, might as well put Termina in the corner with Holodrum and Labrynna from the Oracle games. I personally like the idea of Termina being a parallel world to Hyrule which I will explore more later

Fierce Deity; saying this now, Eiji Aonuma saying the Mask was created by the Termina peoples hopes to not be killed by a creepy moon. Again that just destroys possible stories. Plus look at the official artwork for Fierce Deity. Totally a being created by the hopes and dreams of people like this is a Super Sentai/Power Rangers plot. What she is in this story is based on a theory I had for while.

As for her gender. Originally I was going to say why not? We don't know anything about the spirit in the mask so anything goes if you ask me. Now though I have a good reason to make Fierce Deity a goddess but that is spoiler territory. Though those who know the lore of Hyrule may have noticed a few parallels in this chapter. Anything else I could say will eventually be address in future chapters.

And as said in the summary this will be a alternate retelling of Twilight Princess, my favorite entry. I'm not sure when ch1 proper will be released though.

One last thing for fun. That language Majora used to seal Fierce in a mask. I didn't make that up, its from a pretty good Gamecube game that came out in 2002. Though fans of that series arent a big fan of that entry. I honestly wonder if anyone will know what language it is.

Sorry if this a.n is to long. I promise the next one wont be.
