The Hollow Knight, Pure Vessel, a Hero, at least to the Hallownest itself. It was meant to be perfect container for a plague that emerged at one point in history, after being forgotten by everyone and everything. However... the vessel had a flaw. No mind to speak, no will to break, no voice to cry suffering, born of God and Void, it wasn't empty, no matter how Pale King wished it was.
And so, after many years, the Radiance awakened and began to take over, turning it's inhabitants into frenzied beasts under it's control. And when all seemed lost, a being, similar but different reached the town of Dirtmouth. It was a tiny being, smaller than the guards of Hallownest. Around the height of most average bugs.
It had no name, but to some it was known as Little Ghost, to others, vessel, most of them knew it as the Knight. It had a simple white mask with two horns sprouting from it, it's body looking like it was made from the darkness itself, a Mothwing Cloak infused with void draped on it's body. On it's back, a weapon it carried through it's whole journey. Pure Nail, made from his original old nail that was restored and then enhanced with Pale Ore, making it one of the most powerful weapons in the Hallownest ever forged.
The Knight came to the Hallownest, when a call, a primal feeling reached out to his very essence and lured it into the old decrepit ruins of the great city it used to be. What it experienced there would have left many before it broken or dead, but the Knight no matter how many times it died, no matter how much it endured, it refused to give up.
Each time it died, his shell would split and his shade would be left behind. A shade which tried to kill it and had to defeat every time it died. Each time it died, it learned something new, gained more experience, honed his reflexes and in the end overcame his opponents. So many enemies, so many difficult opponents... Grim, Broken Vessel, Dung Defender, Hornet, Watcher Knights just to name a few. And then, there was Radiance.
The Radiance was the one responsible for the infection. In her pursuit to be remembered, to be worshiped once more, she caused the destruction of the entire nation, few areas untouched by her will. The Pale King, who wished to stop the infection, came up with a plan, a plan that could potentially save the entirety of the Hallownest itself.
A plan to make a perfect vessel, the Hollow Knight. The plan itself was cruel, heartless, abhorrent even, one that could only be created out of pure desperation. With the White Lady as his wife, the plan for the Pure Vessel had begun. The children born of the union were dropped into the Abyss, the origin of the Void, where all the vessels were created.
The children died there, killed by the Void itself, their bodies twisted and turned by the Void, turning them into Vessels. Out of thousands of them, only one was chosen, the Hollow Knight. The rest of them were discarded, left to die, as the seal on the door prevented them from leaving, including the Knight, who now knew what it had to do.
The Knight stood in an area known as Junk Pit, a place not far off from the Royal Waterways, where sewage gathered. There it stood in front of the Godseeker, a massive bug, who shared her collective mind with her tribe of godseekers. She wore a big copper-like mask with a bit of a mantle, her four limbs looking too small to be able to carry her, a simple white flower located in her hands.
What it needed was to defeat the Radiance at her best, in the dream world. It refused to endanger Hornet, it's sister, just for a chance to defeat the one behind it all. So, it brought up it's Dream Nail and began to charge it, as the Nail began to manifest in a flurry of purple light, before it struck the Godseeker and was transported into the Godhome.
It wasn't the first time it arrived here, it spent many hours of it's life challenging the pantheons of the Master, Artist, Sage, Knight and the Pantheon of the Hallownest itself. There it saw it's adversary, the Absolute Radiance, which defeated it the first time they fought. So, it practiced, it improved, until it was able to defeat every single opponent without taking a hit. Going as far as to limit his abilities on all the pantheons.
Once that happened, the Knight challenged the Pantheon, with all the bindings on it, bringing the fight to the Radiance. It wasn't easy, it was tough, but, it knew what to do. And one by one, it defeated all the opponents that stood in it's way, until only the Radiance remained. She was afraid, Radiance could only watch as her sworn enemy, the Void, was slowly chipping away at her health. No matter what she tried, what she did, the Knight dodged everything that came it's way, until, it was only it and Radiance on the top of the Pantheon.
And with one final strike, the Radiance was staggered, as she tried to keep itself together. In the meantime, the Knight's shell split open and it's shade fell into the roiling mass of the Void below. However, this was only the beginning, as a massive figure, one that dwarfed even the Radiance itself manifested, the Pantheon bathed in the Void.
The Radiance was terrified as she took in the sight in front of her. A monster with body made from the Void, with eight massive glowing eyes located in it's spiked head. Four arms with razor sharp claws and a series of flailing tendrils behind it. God of Gods, the Shade Lord. Two tendrils shot out of the Void, wrapping around the Radiance and keeping her in place, as the monster grabbed Radiance's head with one of it's arm and pried her open.
Then it began to tear through the Radiance, destroying every single part of her, until she couldn't last any longer and exploded into an essence, leaving nothing behind. The Shade Lord began to descend into the Godhome, as the Void leaked from the skies, tainting everything it touched. Just as the Void began to drip from the Godseeker's body in the Junk Pit, a small part of it dropped on the Delicate Flower. Tendrils of void began to lash out of her body, only for a pure light to envelop the bug, making them disappear, leaving nothing behind, but the very flower she held in her hands.
Author's Notes:
So, here is my take on Hollow Knight crossover. I wanted to write one, since there is way too few of them. Seriously, Hollow Knights is a great franchise and it deserves more recognition than bloody naruto or harry potter.
I honestly don't know RWBY that much, except for the basics. However, I wanted to put iy on the fanfiction, because I thought, why not? Plus, I wanted to write something fun.
Still, here are some ideas for this fiction:
-The Knight stays as the vessel he is. So, he doesn't turn into a human, or Faunus, or anything like this. He is also quite small, but since I don't know the exact size and I am going by a discussion on the internet, he is around one feet tall. Which is to say, he is tiny, at least in his base form.
-Two, ROMANCE. Since, you can't have a crossover, without someone asking about it. As it is, I don't see the Knight ever being able to fall in love, at least, not the love the humans see. Also, pairings are terrible and spoil every single story they appear in. No thank you.
