Hello guys! I'm finally back after a week break due to the fact my family came over. I had completely forgotten about this story until I looked at my email and saw people comment on some song suggestions, so that's the reason why I haven't posted a new chapter. To make up for it, I made the chapter slightly longer than usual.
Before I continue, I would like to thank everyone for supporting this story. It means a lot.
All the music mentioned and used are owned by their rightful owners. This is a non-profit story. All characters and properties of My Hero Academia are owned by Kohei Horikoshi.
Also, remember that the song's lyrics have been mostly changed. Some reader thought I had terrible hearing, which I do, but still, I don't have that bad hearing.
Without further ado, here's the next chapter of Dekumania!
Izuku never felt more fucked in his life. He was starting to think the universe hated him.
First, he goes to Tokyo just for contract negotiations, only to have to run for his life from a mob of screaming fangirls. He then gets pulled in with Camie, a girl he only met twice. Twice! Thanks to his bad luck, he sings in front of her and a bunch of thirsty women and ends up making new fans and having another group of females chasing after him. Then, he meets up with his old band, which was a good thing, and agrees to perform on a float for the Pussycats, which was a bad thing, since now they're thirsting after him as well. Also, he kind-of forgot that performing at a parade meant people would be there, so now everyone's chasing after him again. Finally, he gets help, but he gets it from the person he least wanted to meet.
Speaking of, he was hiding from Midnight right now, while simultaneously trying to look for the secret club. He was dressed up in a suit since he thought it would be polite to look nice for the yakuza boss, but in the grand scheme of things, he looked like a Japanese rip-off version of James Bond. How did everything go wrong?
Well, he agreed to sing for Midnight. And what did he sing? A fucking love song.
A few hours earlier...
"Thanks for the help, Midnight-sensei. I thought I was done for." Izuku rubbed his face in the towel Midnight had bought for the store. The two of them sat on a couch in Midnight's hotel room.
"No problem. Why were you in the river anyway?"
"Well, a bunch of girls was chasing me, and I did not want to be subjected to whatever torture they would give me." Izuku shuddered, as though he thought that the fangirls wanted to torture him. Well, the guy used to only have Toga as a fan, so you could see why.
"Oh, did they want to have some fun with you," Midnight purred and walked her fingers onto Izuku's shoulder, which made him shudder. Midnight laughed and patted him on the head.
"You're just too much fun to play with. So anyway, why were the girls chasing you?"
Izuku contemplated telling her that he was part of Power Beat, the most popular band in Japan at the moment, but he decided against it. Unfortunately, he stupidly told her something just as bad.
"I sang for them, so they chased after me." Izuku looked down miserably, then realized he probably said the wrong thing.
"Oh, that's cute. Say, would you sing something for me as well?" Midnight did not think he was being serious.
"Um... I don't think that's the best idea. Many things happen to me when I sing, and it usually ends with me running for my life." Izuku backed up against the couch and curled up in a ball like he was Tamaki 2.0.
"Oh, I won't do anything, I swear. You're my student so I can't lust over you. You're my cute cinnamon bun." Midnight pinched his cheek and rubbed his head yet again, relaxing the poor boy.
"Well, the Pussycats were my teachers and they chased me, so I don't think that's a good argument, but whatever. Midnight is closer to me than the Pussycats, so I trust her."
Izuku brought out his guitar, which surprised Midnight. "I thought you had a strength enhancement quirk?"
"Well, I have a music quirk as well that allows me to emit emotions from the music I play. It isn't helpful for heroics, so I never mentioned it. Also, I didn't use it anyway until this year." When he talked about his quirk, a huge red flag should have been raised, but Izuku was too oblivious to warning signs like those.
Izuku played a few chords on his guitar, then stopped to think. "What type of song would you want me to play?"
Midnight scrunched her eyebrows, deep in thought. Then, she looked outside the window next to the couch and saw a couple holding hands on a bench. "Ooh, play a love song!"
Izuku, whose analytical thinking did not apply to his music writing, happily agreed. "I've been working on this ever since I've been to Tokyo. This song is called Something."
Izuku started to play some chords and started to sing in a dreamy voice.
...
"Something with the way she sings
Calls to me like no other lover
Something with the way she moves me"
...
"I never want to leave now
I will keep our sacred vow"
...
Izuku gave a flirty grin subconsciously, one that made Midnight very hot under her pants. It seemed that Izuku was digging himself deeper into an early grave.
...
"Somehow in her smile, I know
That we will be eternal lovers
Somehow in her dance, she shows me"
...
"I never want to leave now
I will keep our sacred vow"
...
Izuku's love song was emitting a powerful aura that made Midnight subconsciously fall in love deeper with him. He didn't even notice her just slowly scoot nearly to him. Izuku had successfully made his teacher fall in love with him.
...
"You're asking me if our love will go
I say no, I say no
If you leave, then we will know
I say no, I say no"
...
Izuku played some nasty guitar solo with his acoustic guitar, one that was calm and gentle just like love.
...
"Something with the way she moves
Attracts me like a burning fire
Something with the way she soothes me"
...
"I never want to leave now
I will keep our sacred vow"
...
Izuku did the intro again and then did a nice relaxing finish. He closed his eyes and smiled, then turned towards the now empty spot on the couch that had what looked like a giant wet spot. Izuku turned around to look for his teacher and noticed her coming out of the bathroom, looking extremely flustered and hot.
"Sensei, is there anything wrong? There's a giant wet spot on the couch and I don't know if that's a bad thing or not." Izuku was too innocent.
"Call me Nemuri Kayama out of school."
"What?" Izuku was getting suspicious of how Midnight was slowly inching towards him with hearts in her eyes.
"Should I could you Master? Oh, before that we need to go on a date, then another one, we need to get married, then we can have some fun!" Midnight was going insane.
Izuku was having none of it, however, and he turned around and with a scream, jumped out of the window like he was a spy in a movie. Midnight quickly ran to the window only to see Izuku getting out of there like he was on fire. Midnight licked her lips and smiled, and turned around to call her buddies.
"Ladies, it's hunting season."
Izuku shuddered as he ran down the street.
The two hero classes continued to watch Izuku's tapes, but some of the people were focused on other things.
"Why doesn't Izuku trust me? I'm his best and first friend at U.A."
"What is he hiding from us? That he has another quirk?"
"Hmm, maybe he's lying about All Might being his dad." Todoroki whipped his head and glared at All Might, who had given up of getting out of his heavily taped bonds. All Might didn't see Todoroki staring at him, but he shuddered under his gaze.
It was getting late, but everyone wanted to stay so they could continue the next day. After all, they had the whole weak off until the talent show on Friday. Momo created sleeping bags for the Big Three and Eri.
However, just before they were about to sleep, there was a knock at the dorm door. Aizawa rolled/slithered to the front door and opened it to see all of the teachers of the first years there plus Nezu. Cementoss looked sleepy and had cement all over him, due to the fact he had to fix part of the building. Ectoplasm was debating with one of his clones about the durability of the clone compared to the original Ectoplasm. Present Mic looked annoyed at the fact that Nezu was sitting on his shoulder, as he probably couldn't scream when he wanted to due to the creature's ears. Vlad King looked like he wanted to panic.
"Shota, have you seen my students? I went to pick them up to take them for ice cream... I mean training. They've been missing for a few hours."
"Um, you should've checked with me first, but they've been here for quite a while. I'm pretty sure they've been here for a day."
"What? Well, I haven't been back to the dorms since I had to help with the damaged building."
Present Mic put his two cents in. "Speaking of, you were supposed to help us! What have you been doing? Do you know how tiring it is to carry Nezu on your shoulder like this for hours? He weighs more then he looks."
Nezu glared at him and batted a paw at his eye. Aizawa rolled his eyes and answered his question. "I carry him all the time. Maybe you're just weak."
"Hey!"
"Anyways, the hero classes and I have found out an important secret."
"What? Is it something dangerous?" Vlad King looked panicked once again.
"Wait, is this just an excuse for not coming? I don't care what it is."
*literally 15 seconds later*
"No way! Why did you keep that Izuku was in Power Beat? I keep trying to invite them to my radio show but they keep rejecting me."
"I wonder why."
"Too many loud, blonde people. Must hide." Tamaki shivered when he saw Present Mic enter the room with the other teachers.
"Is that a shot at me you fucking potato!" Bakugou looked disturbed for some reason, but he still acted normally.
"Shut up you fucking pomeranian! It's like you scream to make up for having a small dick. Isn't that right?"
"What the fuck-" Bakugou was promptly shut up, causing everyone to laugh.
"Good. Stay quiet and sit next to All Might." Bakugou promptly walked next to All Might and sat down on the chair next to All Might.
"First time?" All Might nodded to Bakugou, who blankly nodded back.
"Well, this is a present surprise! Can't say I didn't know though." Nezu exclaimed to the shocked room. "After all, Izuku and his friends had to ask permission from someone to use the band room."
"True, but how did he just assume that we were the biggest band in Japan?" Tamaki whispered to Shinsou and Mirio.
"The principal knows everything mysterious in the world. Don't overwork yourself thinking about it." Mirio shrugged; he learned not to question Nezu years ago.
"That is right Mr. Mirio. I know everything. Haha! " Nezu cackled while everyone was creeped out on how he heard Mirio.
"So," Present Mic practically ran to the DVD's, "can we listen to a song?"
Everyone shrugged. "I guess one more couldn't hurt," spoke Momo. "I mean, you guys have never heard Izuku in all his glory."
Everyone included the teachers (who all were secret fans of Power Beat as well) cheered loudly, but just when they were about to pick a DVD, Kirishima had an odd suggestion.
"Guys, Izuku has songs about everything, right. Do you think he has a passionate song about love?"
"Excuse but you like love songs?" Sero made a face at Kirishimia's question.
"Of course. It's the manliest thing in the world to talk about love. Only the manliest men talk about love, and Izuku is one-upping that. He's singing about love. Don't you think that's manly?"
No one looked impressed, even Tetsutetsu.
"What do you mean, Kirishima-bro? Technically, the other songs he wrote were about love as well."
"No my hardening bro, I mean a real passionate love song."
"Oh, like those sappy ones my dad would sing to impress my mom!"
"Yeah, those."
"That's so manly!"
Correction: no one looked impressed except for Tetsutetsu.
"You guys know great love songs don't have to be ballads as well, right?" Jirou had spoken up with a blush on her face. "Most of the love songs I like are catchy and have good riffs."
"Wow, I always thought you listened to death metal, not love songs- ow!" Mina got an ear jack to the stomach for her troubles. Luckily, no one commented about the fact they all thought Jiro was emo.
"Wait, I have just the right thing to prove you right Jiro-san. Let me get it." Mirio didn't see Shinsou's and Tamaki's panicked looks.
"Hm, where is it? Ah-ha!" Mirio got out an album. It had an abstract painting of a blonde lady with blue eyes, with half of her face covered by roses. (It's Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek and the Dominos).
"Wait a minute, that girl looks like David's daughter, Melissia-shonen from I-Island. It can't be..." All Might had a revelation in his head, and it seemed like others in Class 1-A had a revelation too.
"What? Is he dating her?"
"Why am I having this feeling of... dread? They can't be dating. Right?" Uraraka had a big crush on Izuku, but she never faced it head-on, until now. "I have to find out what their relationship is."
"What's with the cover?" Sen Kaibara held it and looked closely at it.
"I don't know, but I like it. It reminds me of my art in pre-school." Kosei Tsuburaba grinned, and showed Sen a picture of his art on his phone, causing the usually-stoic boy to laugh.
"It was inspired by someone, but he wouldn't tell me who." Mirio frowned. "The album is called Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs."
"Woah, so he does write passionate love songs after all!" Kirishima pumped his fist and accidentally punched Nirengeki Shoda in the face into the wall. "I'm sorry!"
Nirengeki made a thumbs up with his free hand. Everyone else just groaned.
"You're telling me that the guy writes love songs? Though he has surprised us before, I highly doubt he can write good love songs. I bet you I could write-" That was as far as Monoma got before getting knocked out by Kendou, who flashed an apologetic smile.
"Anyways, plug in the DVD. I want to see if he's the real deal." Present Mic giddily clapped his hands and sat next to Aizawa on the ground.
The screen turned black, then the words "Layla" came up on the screen.
Mirio, still oblivious to his bandmates' warnings, jumped up excitingly. "Oh, Layla. This is probably my favorite song on this album. It was inspired by some myth Izuku read about a prince and a princess who can't love each other due to their parents, so they try to do anything they can so they could love each other again. Also, Izuku said he was inspired by something, but he didn't tell me."
All the girls in the room instantly thought, "It has to be me", each mentally listing their reasons why Izuku could love them.
The screen changed to show Izuku waiting outside someone's door. He knocked a few times, but no one answered, causing him to turn back to the wall and slowly slide down it. He put his hands in his hair, looking utterly broken. Then, he promptly stood up and ran down the street to his car.
The scene then changes to Izuku and his band with their instruments, and then Izuku starts to play a riff. While he was playing his riff, Izuku from the earlier scene was driving on the road towards a beach. Izuku then started to sing. (During the song, the scene goes back to the band playing the song).
...
"Why do you think that it's so wrong
To want someone waiting by your side
You've waited for a savior too long
Please and come be my perfect bride"
...
"Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, praying and begging, please
Layla, take my love for you tonight"
...
Izuku got out his car and looked around the beach, finding a blond hair on a rock. He looked up at the ocean and saw a mountain. He quickly ran back to the car and drove to his new destination.
...
"I know that you need some sweet loving
I know that I can't let you down
I'm a fool for doing nothing
I'm sorry for letting you down"
...
"Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, praying and begging, please
Layla, take my love for you tonight"
...
Izuku was hiking up a mountain, following footsteps in the path. He was walking with a stick he found on the trail, going through dangerous parts like a waterfall and cliff. The video also showed him hiking during a rainstorm with a determined look in his eyes.
"So manly," Kirishima whispered. Half of the people there weren't even listening.
"This guy... he makes me feel so gay though I know I'm straight. Is that even possible?" Monoma spoke for almost all of the boys there.
"So hot. He's definitely in love with me." Uraraka murmured, and all the girls in the room nodded along with her, each lost in their world.
...
"No matter how bad the situation
Without you, I can't stop the pain
Together our love gives elation
And it's something you want to gain"
...
"Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, praying and begging, please
Layla, take my love for you tonight"
...
"Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, praying and begging, please
Layla, take my love for you tonight"
...
The song transitioned from a guitar solo to a peaceful piano part, which was when Izuku found his mysterious love. She had blonde hair like the girl in the album cover, but she didn't turn her back, so they couldn't see her face. Izuku walked up and put his hand on her shoulder, and when she turned around, he hugged her.
No one in the room said anything, even after the long piano outro ended. It was like they were afraid to ruin the atmosphere the song created.
"That was... That was manly!" Tetsutetsu cried, tears streaming down his face. "I never knew love could be so passionate!"
"I just want to fucking take Deku and make him sing that to me." Everyone looked at Bakugou. "You bastards heard nothing. Fucking nothing."
"Heard what?" Everyone was smart to just pretend that Bakugou did not say anything. However, they could notice that Bakugou was deep in thought about something, but they didn't bother to even ask him anything.
"Well, that was enlightening; I have to say, I wonder what else he's written." Nezu grinned madly. "However, that is a question we will answer tomorrow. There is a curfew, though your students may stay here if you want to. Also, please untie All Might."
Everyone glanced back to see a depressed All Might gazing off into the distance.
"Fine, but he needs to promise he won't do anything sketchy, like tell Midoyria or his mom about anything."
"I already said that I wouldn't do that. You just ignored me!"
"You better not tell his mom when you go out with dinner with her tomorrow." Everyone stared at Aizawa. "What?"
All Might groaned, and Todoroki fist-pumped the air. "Yes, I was right. They are related."
Everyone sweatdropped at the news; they couldn't (and still didn't) believe that All Might and Deku were related.
While this was going on, Mirio was pulled aside by his bandmates.
"You fool. What have you done?" Shinsou hissed at Mirio. "You remember what his other quirk does."
"What do you mean- oh, I screwed up."
"Yeah, you did. Now, I can bet every girl in this room is attracted to him now if they weren't before."
"I'm so afraid for him. I feel his pain."
"What? That doesn't even make sense!"
"True, but it can't be that bad. From what I know, his quirk is limited by the volume and the emotional investment of the music."
"You just played one of or the most passionate love songs for them. At almost full volume."
"Oh yeah. We're fucked."
"We all are."
The three bandmates sat in the corner, thinking what mistakes were made and how they would affect Izuku.
Speaking of Izuku...
"Oh my god! Where is it?"
Izuku had walked around this shady part of Tokyo for a few hours now, ever since he realized he was safe from his teacher. He had looked in every nook and corner of main streets and tiny roads that led to an alley. It was not helpful that Gio Andrea, the Mafia boss he was supposed to meet, gave the worst directions ever. It was not his fault he couldn't understand what "Ask for Chicken's litter at where the sun meets the moon" meant. It didn't help that he found the sheet of paper in his hotel room with nothing else on it.
He turned right and left and saw a billboard. On one half, there was a sunscreen ad with a sun with shades putting on sunscreen, while on the other side, there was an ad about driving safe at night with a moon in a car.
"Well, I guess I'm dumber than I thought," Izuku thought as he walked towards the building where the billboard was built on. The front of the building was covered with a giant poster of the name of the supposed store: Chicken's Pet store. Outside, an orange tabby wandered around, seemingly looking for something. The owner, Izuku presumed, looked like a nervous wreck. He was young, around mid-twenty, and looked frail and weak, but if you looked under his baggy work clothes, you could see a built man. Izuku had probably come to the right place.
"Hello, mister."
"H-h-hello there. W-what you like?" Unless you were a top psychologist, you wouldn't be able to tell that the man was faking his stutter. Izuku could, however, since he had a severe one when he first started to get bullied.
"Is that Chicken?" Izuku glanced at the cat, who was still looking for presumably, its litter.
"Yeah."
"Um, where is Chicken's litter?" Izuku flinched when the man didn't say anything for a few moments. "Maybe my wording was supposed to be more specific."
"Come on in! Go to the storage closet down to the left, where a guy will be waiting for you, Izuku Midoyria." The guy gave a wink, just doing a 180 in personality. Izuku just gulped and did what he was told to.
"Midoyria, I presume." Why did everyone know his name? "My name is Bill, and I'll be your guide today. Please follow me to see the boss." Bill pulled a mop back, and the room started to sink like it was an elevator.
"So, um, did your boss tell you what he wanted from me?" Not the best conversation starter, but it had been a question burning in his mind for a while now.
"Surprisingly, no. He didn't tell us what he wanted from you." Bill glanced at his watch. "All he said was that he needed a favor for what he did for you."
Midoyria glanced at the ceiling light, watching it swing back and forth. He honestly wished he could get out of this, but Gio's favor was too big not to pay back. After all, he was the one who jump-started Power Beat's career.
A year earlier...
"Did you find anyone who would sponsor us?" Izuku crouched next to Mirio on the computer, looking for sponsors. For the radio to play your songs, you needed to be signed with a record company first. Izuku had wanted to go to Tokyo Capital Records since they sent their records to them already, but they were too big of a company and probably wouldn't get to the music they sent until a few months later. Izuku and his band wanted their music to be on the radio now, but it seemed like no one wanted to take a chance on a bunch of teenagers.
"I mean, I wouldn't blame them."
"I was speaking out loud again, wasn't I."
"It's cute, but that's not the point. Betting on a bunch of teenagers being the next biggest thing is a fool's errand. But, it would be stupider for them not to bet on us." Mirio flashed a smile at Izuku, who grinned back.
"You're right, senpai."
"I'm always right."
"Guys!" Mirio and Izuku both looked up to see Tamaki rushing up to them with a newspaper. "We got an offer!"
"From who? I only sent out a few recordings so far."
"From Gio's Record Company." Shinsou appeared out of nowhere, sleeping bag in hand. "I saw an ad for them in the newspaper, so I sent our recordings to them. They should have already messaged back if they're smart."
"Gio's Record Company. I've never heard of that before, and I've done extensive research. Are you sure they're not a scam?" Izuku raised an eyebrow at Shinsou, who shrugged in return.
"Yeah, I'm sure. If it was a scam, why would they put it in a major newspaper? Also, the company's been around for a while now, which means that it's legit."
"Ok, I'm trusting you. When do they want to meet us?"
"On Friday."
"Wow, that was fast. Are you sure this isn't a scam?"
"For the last time Izuku, this isn't a scam!"
A few days later...
"I take my words back. This is a scam."
"You think!"
Izuku and his three friends were in front of Gio's Record Company. The building looked suspiciously abandoned, and a ton of trash surrounded the building. The only way they could tell that someone was inside were shadows dancing across the dirty tile floor.
"I'm afraid. Is it too late to turn back now?"
"Yeah, it is. We spent 100 dollars on tickets to go out to Tokyo, only for this to happen."
"Oh well! Let's just check before we leave."
"Are you sure Mirio-senpai? I feel something fishy brewing around here."
"That's exactly why we should check!"
"That is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time."
"Is it even stupider than the time you said that this company was legit?"
"We don't talk about that."
"Anyways, let's go in." Leave it to Mirio to get them back on track.
The four of them strolled in, alert for any sign of trouble.
"Wait, this exists?" Izuku entered first, only to see a ton of records lining the shelves and tables. They were some merchandise of some indie bands that Izuku assumed came from this company.
"Wow, this is cool!"
"See, I was right."
"I still have this feeling in my stomach."
"Tamaki, I'm pretty sure it's because you drank that year-old milk."
"You gave me that as a prank! I thought you were my friend."
"Are you guys Power Beat?" The four of them activated their quirks and got into fighting positions, only to realize that the supposed owner of the shop was at the front desk now.
"And if we are?" Shinsou looked ready for a fight.
"Oh, the boss wanted to see you. Follow me!" The old guy turned around and hobbled away with his cane. The boys looked at each other and follow him into the employee's break room. There, hidden in the shadows, was an old man. He looked like that mafia boss from the Godfather, Vito, or whatever his name was. By his sides were two big and buff bodyguards. One looked like a crocodile on steroids, which was probably true. The other was a polar bear who looked like he could eat all of them for dinner and still have room for dessert. Tamaki audibility gulped at the sight of the two of them.
"Ah, our guests have arrived. Come, sit." The boss, who Izuku knew was Gio, spoke with a slight Italian accent, and gestured to the seats in front of him. Izuku and Mirio made eye contact, and Mirio nodded.
They had not yet sat down when the door slammed shut, locking them in. The U.A. students looked around for a way to escape but found no way, so they reluctantly sat down again.
"Sorry for the door, but we had to make sure our talks were not found out by my rivals."
"Rivals?" Tamaki questioned before something dawned on him. "Right! Rivals."
"He is a yakuza boss or something," Izuku whispered to Shinsou. "This is so shady."
"If we die, I blame you."
"What! This was your fault."
"You're the one who wanted to do this in the first place."
"Be quiet guys!" Mirio jabbed both of them in the stomach and forced a smile onto his face. "They didn't mean anything. We're sorry for disrespecting you on your turf."
"He just assumed that the guy was a yakuza boss!" His three friends exclaimed in their heads.
"It is ok. But they are right." Gio flashed a grin. "I am the don of the biggest Italian Yakuza cell in East Asia!"
Izuku jumped out of his seat, only for a person to hold his hand behind him. "Midoyria!" Mirio exclaimed.
"I'm fine. He's not trying to hurt me." Izuku gritted his teeth and gave his best glare at Gio, who smirked at the scene.
"You're a bright one, are you. I need you guys as much as you need me." Gio got up and started to pace around the room. "It had come to my attention that such a brilliant band exists, such as you young men. I had noticed that all the major record companies had passed on your brilliant works, so I took the liberty to be the one who would launch your career."
"Why are you telling us this? If people found out that you're the head of a yakuza cell, they wouldn't take us seriously."
"Ah, you see young Midoyria, that they don't need to know about that. You have no proof that I'm the head of a cell, only your words. Besides, my records are almost as clean as yours. There's no reason to expect an old man who wouldn't touch a fly to be the head of such a group. Besides, my cell doesn't usually do anything illegal. Usually." Gio took a small sip of wine and sighed.
"What do you want out of this?" It was Shinsou's chance to speak. "Everyone has a price, so name yours."
"Oh." Gio sat back down and put his legs on the table. "Well, I don't request anything back in return from you three." He glanced at Tamaki, Shinsou, and Mirio. "But he, he is the true star." Gio met Izuku's fierce gaze with his all-knowing one.
"Want do you want? It better not be anything bad." Izuku got out, giving his best shot at a glare but instead just looked like he was trying to give his best angry kitten expression.
"I wouldn't worry about that. I just need a favor."
"What favor."
"You'll see. I'm afraid it is not the time to request one, but soon you will hear from me." Gio grinned ominously while he stood up to walk out of the room. "Just think of it as payment for your success. Until you fulfill your request, I promise I won't do anything illegal. Until then." He and his guards exited the room, disappearing. The owner reappeared from outside the door, ushering them out of the store.
"That was the weirdest thing I've ever seen, and I've seen Mirio running around naked." Tamaki ignored the protest from Mirio.
"True. But that's not our concern right now. Izuku, are you taking his offer?"
"I don't think we have a choice. I'll have to pay him back."
"I hope you're thinking this through Izuku." Mirio sternly said with a worried expression. "We don't know anything about him."
"It's fine. He promised me that he would stay out of trouble. What's the worse that could happen?"
Looking back at it, those were not the right words to say.
"What?" Bob glanced back at Izuku, who grinned sheepishly and rubbed his head.
"Sorry, I was just thinking out loud." Izuku noticed the elevator had stopped at the 14th floor.
"We're here," Bob cheerfully said, as if that the ring the elevator made didn't make that obvious. "Off you go." He pushed Izuku gently with a smile and waved to him as he exited the elevator. Bob was a really nice man. Izuku wondered why he was with the yakuza in the first place, but he would probably never get that question.
Izuku was about to contemplate his life choices on coming when his thought process stopped completely when he gazed over the stairs. Outside the elevator lobby, there was a crystal chandelier hanging over the ballroom, majestically shining light everywhere like it was Aoyama. The ballroom itself was full of many people, all of them looking rich and proper. It was like there was a party here or something. There were cooks running around the ballroom carrying trays of tasty and exquisite food. People were dancing and socializing around certain areas, but Izuku could see him. Gio was surrounded by other men and a girl, who Izuku assumed was his daughter, or maybe his young wife. Gio had noticed him and waved to the band playing to stop.
"Izuku!" He bellowed out, clearly drunk. "You're just the man I needed. You remember that favor I requested? Well, I obviously need it now. Go up on the stage," He pointed towards the band, who were still confused about what was happening, "and play a nice song. Preferably a love song."
Izuku, being one of if not the most intelligent students at U.A., just gave a confused look.
Gio brought his arm and wrapped it around his shoulders. "I never told you the true reason why I supported you guys, right?"
Izuku nodded at him blankly.
"Well, I was looking for the next big thing. I had a couple of minor successes with these semi-popular indie bands, but I wanted a big fish. One day, my daughter was listening to this recording I had never seen before. I had put it in my pile of songs I was going to listen to later, but my daughter didn't know that and grabbed it off the pile. She gave it a good listen and was instantly hooked. I had never seen her so happy, and I realized that you and your band are perfect. You guys can be, and will be, the best band of all time!" Gio was beaming now, but it was uncomfortable by the way he was acting. "So as a favor to her, I booked you as her birthday gift! What do you say?"
Izuku had realized two things. First, he couldn't get out of this. From the way the man had said it, Izuku knew he had no say in the matter. The second thing was that he had to play for his daughter. She was the one who jump-started their career after all, and Izuku did feel slightly bad to abandon her at her time in need.
"What do you want me to play?"
15 minutes later...
"Um, I'm Izuku Midoyria. Apparently, the young lady whose birthday we're celebrating today has requested me to perform." God, why did he sound so much like a robot?
The crowed half-heartily cheered, but Izuku was distracted. He thought he had seen a flash of dirty blue hair and a glimpse of a detached hand, but he was pretty sure he was hallucinating. He wouldn't be surprised if this was all an acid dream (he knew what one was like; after all, he had accidentally had one before).
"The song I'll be performing today is 'I Want to Know What Love Is'. This is for you, um, Brooke!" Izuku pointed at a pretty red-haired teenage girl in the crowd, who was screaming like she was at a concert.
...
"Well I know it's been a long time
A long time since we saw each other
And I feel like it's been a crime
Since I know you're seeing another"
...
"There's a mountain I've to climb
I have to put it on my shoulder
How are those mountains so sublime
While you and I are getting older"
...
"In my life, there's been heartache and pain
How can I face it without you again
I won't stop no matter how far
Even as far as a star"
...
"I wanna know what love is
I know that you can show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me"
...
By now, everyone was slow-dancing to the music. Luckily for Izuku, the room had anti-quirk sensors in it so no fights broke out. If only it was that simple...
...
"Well I know it's been a long time
A long time to see what I can see
I can't think of reason or rhyme
I don't need to when you're right beside me"
...
"In my life, there's been heartache and pain
How can I face it without you again
I won't stop no matter how far
Even as far as a star"
...
"I wanna know what love is
I know that you can show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me"
...
"I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
(And I wanna feel) I wanna feel what love is
(And I know) I know you can show me
Let's talk about love"
...
"I wanna know what love is (That love that you feel inside)
I want you to show me (Show me all of that sweet love)
I wanna feel what love is (How can you hide it)
I know you can show me (Yeah)"
...
"I wanna know what love is (Let's talk about love)
I want you to show me (I want to show)
I wanna feel what love is (And I know, and I know)
I know you can show me (Yeah)
I wanna know what love is (I wanna know)
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is (I wanna feel)
I know you can show me"
...
Izuku had finished the song, and everyone clapped loudly. Gio's daughter walked up towards the stage, and gave him a nice kiss on the cheek, causing him to overload.
"My first kiss from a girl? Not my mom? What?" Izuku was really liking it.
"Hey, that was supposed to be mine!" Izuku's eyes nearly came out when he saw Midnight at the top of the stairway.
"Eek! Why are you here?"
"To claim what's mine of course," Midnight licked and hungrily stared at him. Too bad she was captured by some guards.
"Wait, let her go!" Izuku turned to Gio. "Please, I'll do anything else for you, I promise."
Gio looked kind of sad like he didn't want to do something. "Oh no," Izuku realized.
"Oh yes, Midoyria." A husky voice came from his ear, causing him to shudder. He had been right all along after all. Tomura Shigaraki leered behind him. Izuku looked out in the crowd, seeing Dabi and Toga interacting with others.
"Why?" Izuku choked out.
"We had to kid. You're great and all, but Tomura helps protect us from rival cells, so we have to do what he says. He makes sure all of the guys in my circle are living safely with their families."
"I understand," Izuku really didn't understand, but he didn't blame the guy for trying. Izuku tried to activate his quirk, but to his surprise, nothing happened.
"The room is anti-quirk, but I have a gun. You better stay put." Shigaraki whispered in his ear. "One move and you and your sensei are dead."
"Fine."
"Ooh, Izuku! You look so handsome!" Of course, Toga had to claim what she wanted. "Can I keep him as my pet? We'll do so many fun things with each other."
"No, he's mine." Dabi had come out of nowhere. "Is what Shigaraki would say. He's an 'NPC' that Tomura can have all to himself. Isn't that right?"
Tomura growled at both of them. "Shut the hell up. Let's get out of here."
Izuku panicked. He should have known that it was a trap all along. Was there any way he could get out of this situation?
Wait. There was one.
