Lion Forge

Leo Valdez was a Son of Hapheastus. Leo Valdez was One of the Seven. Leo Valdez was a Hero. Leo Valdez was the love of Calypso. Leo Valdez, wasn't always Leo Valdez.

Some say the world will end in fire

Some say in ice

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire

But if I had to perish twice

I think I know enough of hate

To know that for destruction Ice

Is also great

And would suffice

Leo re-read the poem he had translated into Ancient Greek. He sighed even though he had been de-aged and his families memories altered to think he died. He thought to the poem itself. Fire and Ice. Red and Blue. The two Lions he once piloted. Who he flew into space fighting in the ten thousand year old war. Which made him wonder, did the planets Zarkon destroy have Gods? An Afterlife? Or did they all go to the Underworld? It was a question he had been wondering for a long time.

At the Campfire, Leo cried at the songs full of love and happiness. He stood and began to sing.

Leo: Remember me

Though I have to say goodbye

Remember me

Don't let it make you cry

For ever if I'm far away

I hold you in my heart

I sing a secret song to you

Each night we are apart

Remember me

Though I have to travel far

Remember me

Each time you hear a sad guitar

Know that I'm with you

The only way that I can be

Until you're in my arms again

Remember me

If you close your eyes and let the music play

Keep our love alive

I'll never fade away

If you close your eyes and let the music play

Keep our love alive

I'll never fade away

If you close your eyes and let the music play

Keep our love alive

I'll never fade away

Remember me

For soon I will be gone

Remember me

And let the love we have live on

And I know that I'm with you the only way that I can be

So, until your in my arms again

Remember me

Percy Jackson, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Nico DiAngelo, Thalia Grace, and Annabeth Chase were tearing up. It made them feel sad for those they cared about that they lost. Chiron knew for a fact, there was more to the Latino boy than there appeared to be. He was an oddly skilled archer. Though his body language despite his personality showed he was always tensed for war. Which made no sense! Yes he was a Demigod, but he shouldn't act like he was always expecting war.

Dionysus, or Mr. D knew exactly what Valdez's deal was. But vowed never to reveal it to any, even his fellow gods unless there was no other way to explain.

That night, Leo pulled out an old photo. It was crumpled and faded a little. He cried looking at it. In it were a large Cuban family. A boy with ocean blue eyes wearing blue and white armor was in the middle smiling widely. Then he moved to look at the second photo. The same boy was next to a boy with a mullet in red and white armor, a large boy in yellow and white armor, an older man in black and white armor with a robotic arm, a girl with white hair and pointed ears with blue markings on her face in pink and white armor, and lastly a girl with short brown hair in green and white armor. They were standing in front of five robotic lions. One black, one yellow, one red, one green, and one blue.

Leo was many things.

A Demigod.

A Hero.

An Inventor.

A Liar.

Leo Valdez hadn't always been Leo Valdez.

Lance McClain in a way did die. Lance became Leo Valdez. He had it all. Respect, a woman he loved with all his heart, good friends, a promising future, and a family he loved. Then Haggar took it all away. She made everyone think he had died. Blue and the other Lions helped him create a new life. Each giving him a gift to help him along. Green gave him an understanding of technology and nature. Red gave him speed and agility. And the gift of fire. Black gave him powerful Instincts. so he could stay several steps ahead of Haggar. Yellow gave him compasion and strength of heart. And Blue, his Beautiful Blue gave him the ability to hide his real appearance and the ability to summon her spiritual self from water.

Lance McClain was no more. Sadly. But Leo Valdez was still alive. And he would fight. To protect his new family with every bit of strength he had and each gift the Lions gave him. It was the reason he chose Leo as his new name. His way of thanking them for what they did for him.
