Pride

A/N: Hello everyone! This is my first story, so I would really appreciate any criticisms, especially if its harsh. The pairing is Harry Potter/ Loki, but it won't have any sexual scenes. Maybe next time lol. Also, if you don't like this story please let me know why. I published this story about a year ago, but took it down because of an incredible harsh review. I have fixed my mistakes and have completely altered the story from how it was. Its a sucky story because I feel like its rushed but I just wanted to post something for Pride, in honor of my own coming out as pansexual.

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this fanfiction. I am not making any profit off this, and don't intend to. Everyone belongs to J.K. Rowling or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Warnings: This story involves a romantic relationship between two males, but as mentioned there are no graphic scenes. It is intended to make people smile, not spread hate.

It was a dreary day in London, which brought a smile to Loki's face. He had always loved rain and clouds as a child in Asgard, until Thor nearly ruined them for him. He tilted his face towards the sky, feeling the soft drizzle. Hurrying down the street he flipped his collar up to protect his shirt collar from getting wet. Opening the door to The Leakey Cauldron he was instantly assaulted with the loud voices, the smell of greasy food and alcohol. Hearing someone call his name over the loud cacophony, he turned and walked to the bar.

"'Ello again Mr. Loki. Care for a cuppa?" Tom the barkeep asked him. Despite not having been in the Leakey for at least a month, Tom greeted him as though he had been in that morning.

" No, thank you. I merely came in to enter Diagon Alley. I've a few errands to run," the god answered, smiling at the old man.

Tom waved him through and he maneuvered through the busy pub, careful to not jostle anyone. As he did this he gave many waves and smiles to people he was familiar with, and nodded at those he wasn't. Leaving the small building he saw the entrance already opened, so he walked through. Similar to the pub Diagon Alley was busy and loud, which Loki loved. Too much of his childhood had been spent in silent libraries, which was his own fault.

Quickly, he stopped at Gringotts, before entering Madame Malkin's robe shop. He could easily conjure robes for the next Ministry Ball, but he liked supporting local businesses. He was quick and politely evaded the shopkeeper's attempts at small talk. It was best to be home early.

Harry was due home at around 5:30 London time, since Fridays he had meetings with the Minister. As Head Auror he needed to keep a healthy relationship with other prominent figures in the Ministry, to prevent any retaliation when he did something crazy, like hire a woman for his second in command.

'Those old coots would think something like hiring a woman as Captain is an outrage,' Loki thought to himself as he teleported home.

Once in Potter Manor, Loki began to set things up. It was a bit cliche to propose on the first day of Pride Month, but he didn't care. He loved Harry and he was pretty damn sure Harry loved him, and that was all that mattered. Since Potter Manor was in Los Angeles, he shucked his coat and rolled his sleeves up. After just a few minutes the summer heat was causing the normally cool god to sweat. Opening a small pocket dimension he hid the ring he'd withdrawn from his vault, as well as the formal robes he planned on wearing in a few weeks time.

Due to the time difference it was still considered early morning, because it was hardly past 8 am. Deciding to shower, he headed for the bathroom in their master bedroom. Planning his day would help calm him down and silence those insecurities in the back of his head. After he showered he would make sure he looked nothing less than perfect, then have a small breakfast. Normally Harry stayed up until about 1 or 2 in the afternoon before heading to bed, so he would wait until it was a little later. They had already made plans to attend the Pride parade in downtown Los Angeles, so he would wait for Harry to take a pepper-up before they left. His plan was to propose in the middle of Snata Monica Boulevard, which was very luckily the exact spot they'd met.

At exactly 9:31 am, Harry portkeyed into the living room, a few feet away from his lover, who was waiting on the sofa. Loki was dressed in a very loose fitting collared shirt that was a gorgeous print and halfway buttoned, similar to Timoteè Chalamet's shirt in 'Call Me By Your Name". The shirt was French-tucked into snug fitting dress pants, showing off a simple gold belt buckle. With his polished dress shoes and perfectly wavy hair, he was stunning. By comparison Harry was wearing a form-fitting suit under his black Auror Robes, with only his badge providing any color.

Loki rose and grinned at his lover, approaching for a hug.

"Hello, my love. How was work?" he asked, kissing him lightly. Harry smiled back and wrapped his arms around his partner.

"Fine, mostly paperwork. Ron says hi, and Draco said to let you know he would be joining us around noon. Apparently he's been seeing Blaise Zabini, and he wants to make it official." Harry was mostly speaking to Loki's neck, but his words were clear. Loki couldn't help but smirk at the new information; he'd guessed as much last time Draco had visited.

"I'm glad it wasn't too stressful today. if you'd like, we could wait a bit before we leave?"

"Nah, I'm alright. I'd like a shower, these robes always make me feel stuffy. Why don't you pick what you'd like for me to wear, so I don't ruin your look," Harry responded jokingly. Before he'd met Loki Harry usually wore whatever was comfortable, but his partner preferred to look presentable at all times.

"Of course love. I'll lay it on the bed for when you're ready."

As Harry entered the bathroom and turned the shower on, Loki opened the large closet. He chose a tight white dress shirt, but no undershirt. The clean fabric complimented Harry's tanned skin, as well as Loki's light pink patterned shirt. Black slacks were neatly laid on the bed spread,, and brown polished shoes put on the floor. Their plan was to wear their pride flags like capes, so simple clothing seemed best.

Returning to the living room, he waited for his future fiancé to get ready. He loved seeing Harry enter the room fully dressed, as opposed to watching his put his clothes on. Just a few minutes later Harry came from the hallway, in the process of rolling his sleeves up. His hair was perfectly messy, and a pair of black sunglasses were folded in the front of his mostly buttoned up shirt.

"All set?" he asked, looking up. Loki nodded and two large flags appeared in his hands. They carried their own as Harry apparated them a block away form the parade. Once they'd joined a few other marchers they loosely tied their flags around each other's necks. Holding hands, they began their march, heads held up in pride. They each got several compliments and happy yells from their fellow pride goers, but had eyes for only each other.

The street was packed full of people who wore smiles, and proudly displayed themselves for everyone to see. Draco and Blaise met up with them about a block down form where Loki planned on proposing, both wearing shirts that read " Love is love is love is love" in rainbow print and cargo shorts. Seeing the Malfoy heir and normally formal Italian so relaxed and carefree was refreshing, and brought joy to Loki's heart knowing that Pride allowed people to express who they are, without being ashamed. Seeing no photographers for muggle newspapers and television stations, Loki pulled Harry into a kiss, right in the middle of the street, earning loud cheers and yells from people passing them. Harry grinned, and winked when they pulled apart. Linking hands once more, Harry joined hand with Draco, so both couples were connected. They continued to march, laughing and smiling until they were stood in front of the building Harry and Loki had first met at. It was a Chase Bank, which Loki had accidentally entered thinkinh it was an extension of Gringotts. As he had left the bank Harry had run into him, having been talking to Hermione. Despite some hesitance due to Loki's reputation, they'd begun seeing each other once everything was cleared up.

Turning to look at harry, he smiled and pulled him onto the sidewalk, where it was slightly less crowded. Discreetly summoning the ring he'd hid earlier, he bent on one knee. He heard the gasps and cheers of people around them, and saw the cameras and phones being pointed towards them, but ignored it.

"Harry, from the moment you ran into me in front of this bank, I knew you were special. Your pretty green eyes lured me in, and your charm, kindness and laughter made me stay. I love you with all of my heart, and I ask that you grant me the honor of becoming my husband, so wecan share more memories and laughter. Will you marry me?"

Harry looked shocked, but then laughed out loud and pulled Loki up. "You stole the words right out of my mouth."

Still chuckling he pulled a ring box from his pocket, and laughed again at Loki's face.

"I guess we had the same idea," he remarked, grinning at Draco, who rolled his eyes, though he wore a huge smile.

Loki nearly tackled Harry to the floor in a huge hug, before grabbing his waist and pulling him close for a long kiss. Putting their foreheads together, they basked in them moment, of just them two and their love.

They exchanged rings; gold for Loki and silver for Harry. As they shared another kiss they ignored Draco, who was warning Blaise that his proposal had better be cuter than theirs, and let the cheers and congratulations fade into the background.

All that mattered was their love and devotion to each other, as well as the pride they felt the next day as they showed off their rings. Thor and Tony, who 'ran into' them at the end of the parade route gave them huge hugs and congratulations, and Loki's meeting with the rest of the Avengers in New York City the next day was interrupted by a pregnant Hermione Granger, who yelled at him for not telling her.

Loki simply smiled.

Author's Note: So? How was it? Please please please let me know what you think. This story will for sure be edited soon with tons mroe detail and way better dialogue but I just wanted to post my rough draft to see if people would like reading something of mine. I have the rough draft of a multi chapter story, so if this has a good reception I will probably post that soon.
