Chapter 1

All rights to Stephanie Myers and her beautiful creation and fanfiction that allows us to have fun with our favorite characters. I own Daisy, Delilah, Daphne and JJ.

I've been MIA in my writing for several years and recently had a burning desire to write again. I've got a whole plot written out with a new Chromebook that helps from what I was using before (a 7 year old Toshiba laptop) I'm back with a new story and this ones just about good ol love.

***New Start***

The car was packed full. Who knew how much I could fit in my Dodge Durango. Standing in the driveway I looked up at my home for the last 7 years. James and I bought this home right after we graduated from Oklahoma State University. He had a degree in business and quickly found work through some contacts in Houston. I didn't quite finish school like I thought I would. I was able to obtain my associates in English. There isn't much you can do with it but I was proud I got somewhere after I was expecting our oldest in the start of my sophomore year.

James and I met our freshman year at orientation. He was from Dallas originally and came from a family in oil. He wanted to get into business and make the big bucks like his daddy and at the time I was crazy for his blue eyes and blinding white smile. We were married pretty quickly after finding out we were expecting Daisy. We had 8 years together though the last year was the hardest. A month before our youngest turned 3 I found out about his affair. It was heartbreaking and made it excruciating to cope with. We tried counseling but James's heart just wasn't into it anymore. And to be honest I never could find it in me to trust him anymore. He had already moved out and moved on before I could even really wrap my head around the fact that our marriage was over.

The last year was a rough one for us. I was trying to adjust to single mom life. Thankfully he was at least on top of helping support us because what else could I do with a toddler still at home. I was not prepared to go back to work and put her in day care. Before the divorce could be final though he was in an accident driving home from work and just like that he was gone.

That started a whole new hurtle to accept and deal with. The girls didn't understand even more why daddy wasn't around anymore. I had to deal with the headache of his estate and a greedy mistress that thankfully I just paid to go away. She signed contracts to the effects of accepting the $10,000 and went on her merry way.

So here we are. I've got Daisy buckled up with her headphones already plugged in. At the age of 9, she's definitely already showing signs of the prepubescent drama especially with this move. Delilah is buckled into her carseat with a tablet full of games to keep her occupied on this 8 hour drive.

James has been gone a year and I just don't know where we fit any longer in Houston. So I swallowed my pride after not speaking to my daddy except for holidays. He didn't take my marriage and moving away so well. Unfortunately, James and him never got along. We had a long talk where I broke down and poured my heart out to him. It was like he knew this moment was coming and was more than ready for me to move home.

Here we go moving back to Durant, OK where my family's cattle ranch has been for the last 50 years. My grandadddy, Donnie started this ranch with his daddy we called Grand Papa back in the 1960's. When my daddy, Charlie was old enough he took over. I grew up on this ranch. We have more than 80 acres where we run cattle, breed, raise and get them ready for auction. I need away from this city. I need a new start.
