Warning for manipulation, and icons of a Religious nature. I would also like to take this time to point out that this is only a work of fiction and not my true thoughts on the existence of such characters as the devil or angels themselves. Thank you for reading and I hope you all enjoy Doom of the Angels.

It is common knowledge among the newer angels that they are allowed to go out into the world. They are told this from the moment that their light blinks into existence. They are more than encouraged to go out and observe the people of the Earth below. But they are never to fraternize with them or those that had chosen to be cast down.

James Potter never understood what it meant to choose to be cast down. He looked down upon the world and the way that the humans, the chosen children of the creator, treated each other. Why anyone would choose to live in that world he didn't understand?

"What are you looking at James?" his best mate Sirius asked, clapping a hand on his shoulder. "Are you planning our first trip to the world below for us?"

James didn't know how to answer that question. Angels were encouraged to go to Earth and fulfill the Creator's wishes. But the people of Earth were so violent and bloodthirsty. Probably an after effect of the Morningstar and his followers.

"I don't know, Siri," James said, looking down at a handsome looking dark-haired man as he walked along a path. "What if going down to Earth causes more trouble than it does good? You know what Minerva says about the two of us."

"Double trouble!" They said in unison and looked back down to the Earth.

"You aren't just worried about trouble, are you?" James felt Sirius's eyes on him as he tracked the handsome man on Earth. He had a sudden need to go down there and meet the man. One that he was sure that Sirius could see from the smirk on his face. "Is it just me or are you thinking of breaking one of the Creator's rules, Jamesie?"

"What?" he asked, pretending sound shocked when in fact that was the first thing that popped into his mind. The second one was the Creator's disappointed face as they drummed him out of heaven and down to Earth or worse. He didn't want to think about that.

"You were eyeing that gorgeous looking being for probably before I got here," Sirius said, pointing towards the dark-haired man that James had been watching. "Don't you want to know if he wants you the same way that you want him?"

"It doesn't matter what either of us wants, Sirius. I'd never have been able to have him without giving up this." He pointed around them at the beautiful streets made of pure gold stones. The great big tower mansions and the beautiful scenery around them. "Who'd want to give up this?"

"Someone who could have that," said a knowing voice from nearby. The voice belonged to that once most beautiful of angels. The who'd chosen to fall rather than serve the Creator and his chosen children. He stood near James and Sirius in all his radiant glory as though he belonged there still.

"You aren't supposed to be her Morningstar," snapped Sirius, folding his arms over his chest. "You know that as well as anyone else does." He looked to James for back up to find his friend scarlet faced and trying not to meet his eye.

"Imagine if you will, young one, how would it feel to receive a kiss from your chosen loves lips," purred the soft voice of the Deceiver. "Imagine a pleasure unlike you have ever beheld before in your life. I'm sure that he'd be more than willing to help you enjoy said pleasure."

"We're quite fine watching from up here," Sirius said, turning James away from the Morningstar. "Thank you very much and good day!"

"His name is Regulus," the Morningstar purred into James's ear, having sidestepped Sirius to move to James's other side. The actual devil on his shoulder to Sirius's angel. "I can introduce him to you, if wish, young James? I can even introduce your friend Sirius to the young man he's been watching for quite some time too."

James could see Sirius gulp at the mention of his watching a young man on Earth. He wanted to tell the Morningstar to take his offer and shove it. But his brain thought otherwise. Not even the proper brain either. "I would love that," James heard his own voice saying. "I would love to meet Regulus. What do I have to do?"

"All you have to do is fall," the Morningstar purred in his ear, making the sound of falling seem more and more tantalizing by the minute. "A swift fall and you could have everything. You could have him. You could have a place where you can live together without being judged and most of all you can have freedom and knowledge. Wouldn't you like that James?"

James didn't care about any of the rest of it. The image of the dark-haired man filled his mind. Even though he had never seen the man's face before he imagined it was quite handsome.

"James," Sirius said, trying to break James out of the spell that the Morningstar's voice had created. "Begone, you vile villain."

"I don't think your friend wants me gone. In fact, I think he quite wants to come along with me. After all, aren't you little angels free to spread your wings and come down to Earth every once in a while?"

"We are," James said, looking up at the Morningstar as though he was the only person present at the moment. "You can introduce me to him?" He pointed towards Regulus as he made his way into a building that looked like a palace.

"I can take you to him right now if you wanted me too."

"I do," James said, thoughts of running his finger through the softness of Regulus's hair ran through his mind. All he could think about was Regulus and that gave him a feeling that he couldn't quite describe. One he'd never felt before.

"Come with me, then," The Morningstar said, holding out his arm for James. "We shall see if we can make a connection for you."

James didn't know what that meant or why it would make the Morningstar so happy but willing took the fallen angel's arm against Sirius's protest. The last thing in heaven he saw was Sirius shaking his head sadly at him.

Regulus's POV:

Regulus watched as the Morningstar carried an unconscious being into his house. He was pretty sure that it was a being. The dark-haired being in the Morningstar's arms seemed to glow with a light that Regulus dimly remembers seeing once upon a time on the Morningstar himself.

"What did I say about bringing strange beings into my house, Mr. Morningstar?" Regulus said, giving the once angel a pointed look.

"When have I ever listened to anyone, my friend?" The Morningstar countered back, nodding towards the unconscious form in his arms. "My friend here didn't really take kindly to the fall. Is there somewhere that I could put him to recuperate his energies?"

"You forced another one to fall." It was more a statement than a question. Regulus looked sadly down at the being whose light was beginning to fade. Like with the Morningstar it always started slowly. "How did you do it this time?"

"It's more like how did you do it." The jab hurt Regulus more than he could say. He should be used to the Morningstar trying to lure the denizens of his former home with promises of wealth, power, and God only knew what.

"What did you promise this one?" Regulus folded his arms over his chest, watching as the Morningstar laid the unconscious once angel on his bed. "You must have promised him something pretty big to have someone like him fall. The brightness of him looks like he'd be almost on the same level as you."

"Does it matter what he once was? All that matters is he is here now and he wishes to remain here." The Morningstar tucked the younger being into the bed as though he was a child, which Regulus guess in a manner of speaking he was now.

"Are not answering my question for a reason?" he asked, watching the rise and fall of the being's chest as he slept. "What did you promise him to make him fall from somewhere that's supposed to be so nice?"

"Why I only promised to introduce him to you." The answer was stated as though it was the simplest and easiest to guess. "He jumped at the opportunity to come here and talk to you. I don't think he realized, however, that there wouldn't be a return trip."

"You tricked him?" Regulus asked, seeing the eyelashes of the man on the bed fluttering. "You tricked him so that he would be forced to join you? Without a choice in the matter?"

"You make me sound so cruel, my dear Regulus," The Morningstar purred, smiling wickedly at Regulus. "Are we not friends now?"

Regulus started pointedly. "Are you going to answer my question or not?"

"Yes. I tricked him and I would do it again. To take one as pure as this one was and make him wish to fall is the highest honor in my regards."

Regulus gritted his teeth. He didn't like it when a beings choice was taken away from him. He remembered a time not too long ago when his choice had been taken from him. "You have quite the way of taking something pure and tarnishing it, don't you?" he asked impassively.

"It isn't hard when the being that's so pure and innocent tarnishes themselves." The quick gleam of glee that flashed across the handsome face of the dark-haired former angel sents shivers down Regulus's spine. The memory of those charms working on himself surfacing and making him hate the demon in front of him. "Don't be jealous. I got you a little pet that would do anything to be with you."

The hazel eyes of the being on Regulus's bed opened wide. He looked around himself in alarm. He had no clue what had been done to him and Regulus felt sorry for him.

He walked over and sat on the bedside, placing a calming hand on the being's shoulder. "Don't panic," he said gently. "I'm here to help you. My name is Regulus."

James's POV:

James had heard stories about the fall of Sirius's brother, Regulus. It was said that he was among the first to fall with the Morningstar and that instead of joining him and the other fallen angels Regulus was given a choice. He could give up his angelic grace and live a normal human life among the chosen.

"I thought that you were a myth," James said, scooting back into the wall behind the bed. "Are you working with him?" He pointed towards the evil one. The one who'd taken his choice from him. "How did you make me do?"

"It was simple to plant the seeds of want and need in your head. Young angels are easy to fool into thinking that something is what they want."

"Don't listen to him," Regulus pleaded. "You didn't fall of your accord. You were made to think that it was what you wanted to do. Is that right?"

James nodded frantically, looking into the solemn grey eyes that looked at him sadly. "I was."

"Then I'm pretty sure that you have a choice to make, my friend," Regulus said. He nodded toward the Morningstar. "You can choose to join the one who forced your hand by putting thoughts into your head that aren't inherently your own." He smiled at James brightly. "Or you could choose a different path. One that won't get you home anytime soon but will get you there eventually."

"I want to choose the second path," James said, watching Regulus as though he was about to say surprise it's all a lie. "What do I have to do?"

"You've already done it. You've chosen to become one of us. One of the chosen. The same choice that I was given not too long ago."

"He's only made you seal your doom," The Morningstar crowed. "Don't think that it won't be easy for me to sway a simple human. I've been doing so since I fell. By now it's but a parlor trick. You'll be mine. You'll both be mine!"

"It's time for you to leave, my friend," Regulus told the Morningstar pointedly, looking towards the door that stood open.

"Now, we need to get you some proper clothes and teach you about the world that you've chosen to take as your own," Regulus said, holding out his hand for James to take. "It won't be easy but we'll make it in this world together."

"Together," James said, taking Regulus's hand and gasping at the tingles that spread from the contact with the other man. He didn't know what it meant but with Regulus's help he'd figure these things out. He'd make Earth his new home and Regulus his family.

The Morningstar's POV:

As he watched from his place below, Lucifer Morningstar felt a thrill of glee go through him. Regulus and James had both played into his hands like the fools they were. Their willfulness to be free of both him and the Creator was laughable. He'd give them their illusion of freedom but already their doom was implanted into their minds.

He'd use the same thing he'd used to get them both to fall against him. He had already done it in regards to the younger one. Sending the impulses of pleasure down the arm and spine of the young being at touching Regulus's hand. All he had to do was bide his time and place more pleasurable thoughts into both his victim's heads. It wasn't like he didn't have the time and opportunity to do so.

"You'll both be mine in time," he crowed to the image that flashed in front of his eyes, "and you'll burn for it. Mark my words. No one makes a mockery of the Morningstar and gets away."

He sat back on his throne all the maliciously evil plans he could do to the duo running through his head. A smile broke across it making him look more horrifying than handsome. He would make sure that he was their doom if it was the last thing he did.

I hope you all enjoyed Doom of the Angels as much as I enjoyed writing. I would like to point out that this fiction and nothing to do with how I think or feel on the aspect of the devil or religion as a whole.
