Chapter 3 - The Mineshaft

Author's Notes: Sorry for the late update. The chapter you've been waiting for is finally here. We left off at the pups being attacked by an Illager Patrol, sent by the Evoker from the Woodland Mansion. The pups are not prepared for such a difficult task, so they'll be mining underground in this chapter.

Disclaimer: I own almost nothing of this story, just the story itself and the OCs that I created.

And now for the 3rd part of the story.

After escaping from a surprise attack from a bunch of Pillagers, the pups were exhausted.

"Hey guys! What took you so long? I got a lot of food from the farms I made, " questioned Everest, not noticing the exhausted looks on the other pups' faces.

"A surprise attack from an Illager Patrol. That's what caused this," Explained Rocky.

"Yeah. One of them had an ominous-looking banner on his head." Zuma commented on the fact that one of the Illagers had an Illager banner on his head.

"Some food will help with it. Eat it and you'll feel better." Said Everest, dropping bread on the ground for the pups to pick up.

Soon, the pups began to eat theor food, noisily chewing but over all all happy sounds of deliciousness.

"Mm, this food is so delicious."

A few minutes later…

"If we want to defeat the Illagers, then we have to get resources. And what better way to do that than Mining?" suggested Shelly.

"Ok, so we go have to go mining, so let's get digging!"

"Uh, Chase… Did you forget the #1 rule of Minecraft?" Shelly warned Chase as he started digging.

"NEVER DIG STRAIGHT DOWN!" The pups yelled at Chase, even though he didn't listen and continued digging through a dungeon with a Zombie spawner, next to cave of creepers, into a deep ravine, and finally through a pool of lava which burned him to death. He respawned at the world spawn and made his way to their base.

"Guess I should've listened to them," he mumbled to the audience.

Meanwhile, back at the base…

"Good thing I patched that hole in the floor." Rubble gleefully exclaimed to the pups.

"Maybe we should dig another way into the underground." Shelly said while looking at the audience.

"Yup! I'll get started right away!" Rubble then dug a staircase with his iron pickaxe, leading deep underground, placing stairs along the tunnel until he hit an abandoned mineshaft, only to be killed by a creeper sneaking right behind him, destroying the camera with him. "Darnit! Killed by a creeper…"

Rocky then fixed the camera relatively quickly after its destruction.

A few minutes Later...

"Let's go down there, too!"

The other pups went down there, too. Marshall was the last one, but tripped and slid on his butt, crashing into the other pups and landing into a dog pile like the ones they do in the Lookout when they reached the mineshaft.

"Is that a chest inside a minecart? I never saw those when playing this game." Chase commented when he the nearby minecart that had a chest inside.

"It's a storage minecart, silly!"

"Yeah! I'm sure the audience knows about this type of minecart. Let's check the loot" Shelly commented that the storage minecart might have some loot in there.

"Shelly! I just fixed the 4th Wall!" Rocky griped at her for breaking it after a creeper destroyed the camera.

"Wait! Where's Rubble?" asked Marshall, not noticing that he's making his way here.

"I'm right here! Sorry for the delay. A creeper snuck up to me and destroyed the camera, killing me in the process. I brought torches for exploring the mineshaft, too."

The pups explored the mineshaft and found lots of loot. One of the minecarts had coal, rails, and an Iron Pickaxe. Another one had Iron Ingots, more coal, lapis lazuli, and powered rails. Yet another one contained gold, detector rails, and the jackpot: Diamonds. The last chest was empty.

"Maybe we should go caving for more diamonds?"

3 hours later…

"Nothing – not a single ore - besides stupid coal ore!" Chase commented at the audience.

"We'll go strip mining instead."

3 more hours later…

"Lots of diamonds – we could build an entire skyscraper out of these!" Skye commented about the amount of diamonds they have.

"We don't have that many, silly! You need 9 diamonds to make a block of diamonds! Plus, it would be impractical to make a building out of them." Shelly replied to Skye's comment, not noticing a Ruined Portal nearby.

"I think I see a Ruined Portal nearby! It might have some good loot for us to use."

Author's Notes: So the pups have found a ruined portal nearby, almost ready to activate. Will the pups survive the fiery depths of the new nether, or get burnt to ashes while trying? Stay tuned to find out! Don't worry, the woodland mansion chapter will be coming, but the new nether stuff is more important. Here are some people's reviews of this story.

Ok, couple of things. One, this could've written a bit better, more descriptive words, more dialogue, usage of words synonyms, stuff like that. Punctuation and capitalization are smaller, but could use some improvement. Other than that, pretty good story and I like how you incorporated the new update and mobs. Good job. Now, this is not a promotion for any certain system, but each Minecraft has its flaws. Same with each system. I personally like PlayStation and PC gaming, but Xbox and Nintendo both have their advantages. Xbox has games you can't get on PS4, but then PlayStation does have its own exclusives. Nintendo's fun mainly for Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and the classic Doom games. Now, my big complaint is how Mojang forgets about PS4 and Xbox, hence the updates for both versions being delayed for updates. Jesus, this is the longest review I've written. Probably no-one cares, but I had to write this. – Scotty the Demon Slayer (Collaboration Partner)

As a Minecraft player myself, this sounds really interesting. Keep it up! – Writing4Life123

I love this story! Very creative. I can't wait to hear what happens next. – My Mom
