CHAPTER SEVEN

The Incinerator let out a frustrated growl and lunged, making a move for Roxanne's throat, probably to strangle her, when Roxanne let out a frustrated whimper and raised her hands above her head in self-defense. "Wait!" she screamed, her breaths escaping her lips in short, panicked spurts.

"Why?" he snarled, wrenching her to her feet, his fingernails digging into the flesh of her arm. "You know, you're really starting to tick me off here, Lois Lane," the Incinerator growled angrily, flicking his lighter underneath Roxanne's chin as his other hand came up to cup the reporter's chin upward and tilt it at an angle, cocking her head to the side and forcing the scared reporter of Metro City to meet his listless gaze. "Maybe I should just cook you right here an' now and forget all the money you just gave me. I'm gonna get what I'm owed anyways whether you and Fish Stick over there stay alive or not. Doesn't bother me one way or another if you stay alive or if you die, Miss Ritchi. It sure would save me from having to listen to your whining all the time, you little brat."

Roxanne swallowed nervously, biting the inside of her cheek as she looked towards Minion for guidance. God bless that little fish; he was looking just as terrified if not more so than she felt now.

The reporter dropped her gaze to her feet, where perched right by the edge of her left black sneaker, rested her bag.

For a moment, she had forgotten she'd thrown it in a fit of anger at Minion's tank, and then she immediately felt guilty, knowing how much guilt and shame the little talking fish of her boyfriend's was undoubtedly putting upon himself, for Roxanne knew Minion blamed himself.

"I—in my bag," she breathed, her blue eyes wide and round with shock as she gave a jerk of her head towards her little black bag on the floor. She slowly raised her hands above her head, and in so doing, the Incinerator released his grip upon her arm and took a step or two back, looking confused.

Roxanne bit the inside of her cheek and slowly knelt to the floor to pick up her bag and rummage through the main compartment, looking for her little rose pink wallet, all the while never averting her gaze from the supervillain, who looked like he was more than ready to burn her and Minion to a crisp and he wouldn't so much as bat an eyelid. "I—I'm just going to…reach in my wallet a—and…"

With shaking fingers, she unzipped the main compartment of her wallet and held out a card with her photo ID on it. The Incinerator growled in frustration and snatched the card rather violently out of the reporter's fumbling hands, and Roxanne barely stifled a surprised squeak as he looked it over.

"What the hell is this? Why you givin' me your driver's license? I don't need that stupid shit," he snapped; his head whiplashing sharply upwards to regard the reporter. "You think this is some kinda joke, Miss Ritchi?" he shouted, his face reddening, and he tossed the card back at Roxanne's chest.

"Look, sir, Megamind is coming for you, sir, a—and he's not going to be happy with you for kidnapping both of us and you can pretty much guarantee that her boyfriend called the cops! You can be here when they arrive, or you could leave. J—just take whatever money you took from Miss Ritchi's wallet and call it even. But if you stay here with us, you're going to go to jail. Especially if you keep up this abhorrent behavior towards Miss Ritchi, who willpress charges against you, sir!" Minion bellowed from his aquarium tank across the room, seemingly finally having lost his patience.

"Guess I better make this quick then, huh?" Metro City's Incinerator growled, relinquishing his grip on Roxanne's arm, and grabbing at the reporter's throat, squeezing hard as he used his other hand to fumble with the waistband of her black low rise flared work pants. "It's you I've wanted…"

"Get—of—of—me!" gasped Roxanne pitifully, using one of her hands to desperately claw at his. She could feel the blood rushing to her head and in her eardrums and felt a stab of cold fear prick at her heart and felt like it froze the very blood in her veins. Roxanne swore she heard Minion's pleas.

"LET GO!" she shouted through gritted teeth angrily. Roxanne struggled with the Incinerator as much as whatever feeble strength she possessed in her could, managing to maintain one hand on his hand covering her throat in an attempt to pry it off of her, and the other holding onto the waistband of her black pants enough to make it difficult for him to reach the button and the zipper of her pants.

Black dots swarmed in the front of her vision, and it was becoming more and more difficult for her to breathe, Roxanne let out a panicked, choked gasp as she could swear she heard the sound of a door bursting open, possibly being broken down. Was that M's voice she heard? Or—or Minion's?

The Incinerator, who was still attempting to say something to her, sounded royally ticked off, and she could tell by the fuming look in his listless eyes that he was definitely going to remember this.

Roxanne let out a whimper as a rush of cold fall air from the outside wafted into the warehouse. There was a lot of commotion going on around her it sounded like, for just the three of them in here. Noise and chaos that didn't really make sense, like there were more people here with her now.

She let out a squeak as a burst of cold air wafted in front of her face, and suddenly, her hand felt like ice. Roxanne forced her eyes open, lifted her head blearily and tried to focus her gaze a few feet in front of her, and a flash of bright blue and a brief shot of her boyfriend's handsome face in all his popular primary colored skin complexion darted in front of her fading vision. "M," she breathed out in a shaking breath, blinking back briny tears, and another face, an unfamiliar female cop's, swam to the front of her vision. Roxanne blinked owlishly in front of her as her vision slowly returned to normal. "O—oh." She stammered, trying to find the right words for the situation in front of her.

At first glance, Roxanne would have sworn it was a huge chunk of clear glass with an incredible likeness of the supervillain who'd just been attempting to strangle her to death and assault her, given the temperature and the fact that it was only October, not even Halloween yet, Roxanne had to guess. But when she reached out to touch it with a shaking finger, Roxanne let out a scream.

It was cold. Ice cold, and wet to the touch. What the hell was a block of ice doing in this warehouse, let alone standing in front of her? And why so…large and irregular? Her head throbbed and ached, sending a pulsating pain to the back of her skull, and then her boyfriend's handsome face flashed in front of her vision as he knelt beside her, and she heard the unmistakable sound of his Freeze Ray gun being tossed aside, and Roxanne immediately knew what it happened, her mind piecing together the missing pieces. Megamind had arrived with the police in tow and had frozen the Incinerator with his freeze ray gun. She almost—almost—laughed at that. Fitting that a man with an obsession for all things heat and fire would freeze to his death, Roxanne thought and almost cried.

"We got him, ma'am," the woman in the Metro City police uniform said. Roxanne let out a choked stifled sob and grabbed at the woman and gave her a tight hug, clinging to her as though this god send of a woman was her very lifeline, which in a way, Roxanne supposed that she was, sort of.

Megamind was saying something to her, but she didn't give her boyfriend a chance to respond or say anything further as she flung her arms around his neck and covered his mouth in a passionate kiss.

He broke apart first, furrowing his dark brows into a frown and gently rubbing tiny circles in the small of her back. "Y—you're okay, Roxy. You're safe," he whispered soothingly into the shell of his ear, though there was no mistaking the crack and wavering in his voice as he blinked back fresh tears.

Roxanne mutely nodded, biting her bottom lip in a pout and finally tore her gaze away from her boyfriend's intense stare and glanced across the room at the aquarium tank, and met Minion's gaze, who'd been in the middle of doing a victory lap around the thank until the little fish noticed her looking. With shaking legs, one hand clutching onto Megamind's arm in a vice grip, he helped her get to her feet and she stumbled towards the tank and Minion's fallen discarded suit that lay in a heap on the floor. She felt so disoriented and dizzy, but she had to help the little fish. They needed to…

"Sit down." Megamind instructed harshly, though not unkindly. He put his slender hands on Roxanne's shoulders and somewhat forcefully guided her back down into the very chair that the Incinerator had hogtied her to. Roxanne swallowed nervously but lifted her chin to meet the alien's gaze and felt a swell of warmth blossom in her chest as Megamind reached over and gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. His lips were warm, and when he pulled away, she felt a burning, tingling sensation. "Just focus on your breathing, Roxy. I've got the Brain Bots coming in a sec. They'll help fix Minion's suit. He's gonna be just fine. More police are on their way, I called for a lot of backup."

"No…wh—what about Hal, M?" Roxanne breathed, shaking her head, and trying to stand back up. "Wh—where's Hal? The—the guy said Hal stole a lot of money from him. Wh—where is he?"

Roxanne slowly sat up straighter, her back resting against the chair's back rest and blinked as her vision returned to normal and she took in her boyfriend's appearance. Though he was looking exhausted, dark circles under his eyes, the blue alien was looking immensely relieved to see his friend and girlfriend alive and relatively unharmed, minus the burn mark on Roxanne's arm from where the Incinerator had decided to put out a cigarette on her arm, and he frowned, the pads of his fingertips slowly ghosting over the column of her throat as Megamind's face paused, hovering over the harsh red markings of the man's fingermarks, red against white, where he'd attempted to strangle Roxanne.

Megamind hadn't donned his suit for this rescue mission, which she thought was kind of odd. Instead he'd shown up the warehouse in jeans and a black turtleneck sweater. It still looked strange to see the alien in civilian clothes, but the Defender of Metro City had every right to wear whatever he wanted, whenever. "Easy, Roxy," he soothed, glancing towards the female cop, who gave a nod. "I never was going to bring this creep Hal. Hal Schtewart might be a jerk, but even he wasn't worth your lives. Hal was found trying to leave the city limits with a stolen car and a whole lot of this guy's money. Cops picked him up. If those two have a score to settle, they'll have to do it on their own terms. In jail, where they both belong," Megamind growled angrily, glancing towards the now-frozen Incinerator, encased in that huge block of ice until the authorities could later de-thaw him.

"B—but he—he's frozen," Roxanne breathed, finally tearing her gaze away from the block of ice with a live person inside of it, and returning her gaze back towards Megamind, who scowled.

"He'll live," he snapped. "Besides, what's the human expression you love so much? Ah…revenge is a dish best served cold?" he asked, knitting his brows together in confusion and swiveled his head slightly as the humming arrival of the Brain Bots momentarily commanded his attention away from her. "Ah! Good! You all got Daddy's message, wonderful! Stay sharp, Bots, you've got work to do and a long night ahead of you all," he chirped happily, his tone rising, and began barking orders at a couple of them to take away Minion and his suit back to the observatory for repairs, the rest to assist in whatever way they could to help take the frozen Incinerator back to the downtown Metro City PD.

"What about Minion?" Roxanne cried, her arm outstretched as she watched the Brain Bots form together and pick up both the fish's discarded suit and his aquarium tank with Minion still inside.

Megamind shook his head and placed a gentle hand on his girlfriend's shoulder, giving it a tight squeeze. "Roxy, Min's going to be fine. Didn't I tell you? He's one tough little fish. He'll make it."

Minion noticed Roxanne's furrowed brows and worried stare as the Brain Bots lifted his tank up into the air, chirping and each machine communicating among themselves. "I will be all right, Miss Ritchi," Minion called out, exhaling a shaking breath of water, and shooting a small sad little smile the reporter's way. "Don't worry about me. Just listen to the boss and keep your breathing steady, like he said. Deep slow breaths, Miss Ritchi, and I'll see you back at our apartment, okay?" he called out. Roxanne blinked back tears and mutely nodded, afraid if she opened her mouth to speak any further, she would get sick. She couldn't help but notice her breaths were shaky and quick, and she still felt really lightheaded. But what she wouldn't give for a glass of cold ice water and some food!

She gave a curt final nod to the talking little fish, who returned the gesture and smiled at her, their eyes locking and having a private conversation of her own. If Minion hadn't been here with her during all of this, things for Roxanne would have probably gone a whole lot worse. She owed him.

"You're gonna be fine, ma'am." Another cop, this one a guy, came over and intrigued, poked the frozen block of ice with his baton. He blinked a couple of times, as though hardly daring to believe his eyes, but then, strange happenings in Metro City were becoming more and more of a habit lately.

Especially with the Defender of Metro City, his girlfriend, and the talking robotic fish always on the case. Roxanne nodded, closing her eyes, and tried to focus on regulating her breathing back to normal, like the cop and Megamind instructed her to do. She couldn't seem to stop her shaking and she allowed Megamind to shakily help her to her feet, and she cried out as she whirled around. "Wait! I—I almost forgot something, M, j—just gimme a second and I'll be right there, love!" Spotting her little black canvas bag and her pink wallet and the discarded ID card she had tried to give the Incinerator, she knelt down and gathered her stuff, slinging her little bag over her shoulder.

Megamind noticed her clutching her wallet and the card tightly to her chest, near her heart. "What's that for, Roxy?" he asked, draping one of her arms over his shoulder, the other wrapped protectively around his waist as he gently guided her outside, where a burst of cold fall night air waited to greet the pair of them as he led them back towards where he'd parked the invisible car, no doubt wanting to take Roxanne to the hospital to get her injuries checked out. "What is that?"

Feeling a pained, weak smile tug at the corner of her lips that she did not bother to try to fight back, Roxanne, with shaking fingers, held out the little ID card to Megamind, who took it, his green eyes widening with shock and awe. "You…you've kept this in your wallet? After all this time?"

Roxanne nodded, still smiling, feeling her shoulders sag in relief as they paused outside the car.

"Y—yeah. He…he took all the cash I had in my wallet, but that was pretty much it, and he…he…" She bit her lip and momentarily turned her head away before turning back to meet Megamind's quizzical gaze. "He forgot to stamp my frequent kidnapping card, M," she replied. She bit the inside of her cheek as Megamind's face remained impassive, and the reporter could tell the alien wasn't quite sure what to think. Her boyfriend had a look on his handsome features that told Roxanne that he wasn't entirely sure if he wanted to laugh at her joke or not. "Th—that was a joke."

Her mom had always told her growing up that laughing never expressed anything. Roxanne, even as a kid, had always doubted that affirmation, as her mom had used to love laughing with her dad, usually over dinner accompanied by a couple glasses of wine. Her dad had also told Roxanne that it was just a sound coming from a mouth, that it didn't mean anything, either. Megamind cherished Roxanne's smile, but for her to laugh at something was incredibly rare, so he was surprised to hear the noise that burst forth from his girlfriend's lips was like a cross between a snort and a laugh.

And just the sound of Roxanne laughing was enough to get Megamind going too. Her laugh was a sound he did not hear often and it's a sound he would wait another thousand years to hear again.

He leaned in close, their breaths mingling, and let out a sigh as Roxanne rested her forehead against his, basking in the warmth he gave off.

The two of them stared at each other in an odd way, as if it were some kind of silent argument. Their glances battled one another, until tears arose, and Roxanne found herself crying for what had to be at least the tenth time tonight, though this time, for a different reason. She was alive. Safe.

"Guess he didn't know the promotion was discontinued about six months ago, Roxy," he snorted. "Why…why did you do it?" Megamind asked, his tears rolling down with the same quietness as hers. He sighed, wiping his own tears with the sleeve of his black sweater, before turning away from the invisible car, and staggering away from Roxanne with a strange curious slowness.

Roxanne winced as her hand curled around her inner forearm, where the Incinerator had burned her, as she followed her boyfriend as he glanced out at the warehouse where the supervillain had held her and Minion captive in. She bit the inside of her cheek and felt an urge to do something, to comfort him, but also herself. In a moment and without even having to think about it, she pressed her lips against his, felt his lean body loosen and his arms touch her shoulders and squeezing tightly.

She chuckled beneath the salty tears. "It's payback, M," she whispered into the shell of his ear. "For all those times you've saved my life. Thank you," she said quietly, pulling back to study his face.

Megamind smiled and leaned in and kissed her and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below her ear, his thumb caressing her cheek as their breaths mingled. She ran her fingers down his spine, pulling him closer until there was no space left between them and she could feel the beating of his heart against her chest.

Then the two of them hovered right there, quite soundless for so long, simply feeling each other's presence, for it was far too precious a moment for either one of them to risk ruining first by pulling away. "Guess we should head back and check on Minion," Roxanne sighed, wrenching open the car door and tossing her bag into the backseat of the invisible car. "I know what you're thinking, M. I don't need a hospital. I—I'm fine," she stammered. "He…he didn't do anything except for this, which I think we can treat at home. Besides, if you and me go to a hospital, it's going to be all over the news the minute you're spotted with me in the waiting room, and this is kind of something I'd like to keep private, M," she mumbled, ashamed, the heat creeping to her cheeks as she briefly flashed the burn arm on her inner forearm at Megamind's way. She watched and cringed as his blue face almost turned purple the angrier he got as his green inquisitive eyes lingered on the burn mark.

Roxanne flinched as he opened the car door for Roxanne, and she slid wordlessly into the passenger seat. He didn't speak much as he clambered into the driver's side of the car and put the vehicle into drive, and it wasn't until about ten minutes or so into the drive that he finally broke the silence. "I don't know what exactly that stupid creep did to you, Roxy," Megamind started, his gaze flitting back and forth between the road and Roxanne as they headed back to their shared apartment, "and you don't have to tell me anything of what happened if you don't want to, but Minion, when I got there, was looking pretty shaken up." He frowned and scowled, pursing his lips into a thin line.

It took a lot for the logical talking fish to get emotional, and to see his best friend in an emotional state of distress when he'd arrived at their location with the cops was disheartening, to say the least.

Megamind, sensing Roxanne didn't have an immediate response to give, continued to press the issue. "This creep shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. The Incinerator is a sick man, to kidnap you and Minion off the streets the way that he did. To go up against the Defender of Metro City. Sick. And stupid. So very stupid. I—I can't let him get away with this, Roxy. You and Min didn't deserve any of what that creep put you through, and that man deserves to face the consequences of what he's done. I can't let him get away with this, Roxy," he growled, his blue knuckles almost turning white with the effort to steady himself as he maintained a vice grip on the steering wheel.

"But he won't," Roxanne gently reminded the alien. "You—you froze him like a Popsicle in a block of ice, M. He—he won't be going anywhere, and the next place he does go by the time the cops get that creep unthawed is straight back to the Metro City prison, the high security ward this time. I'm sure the Warden will be thrilled to get him and Hal back. A—and besides…wasn't Minion the one who told us that the bad guys lose and don't get the girl?" Roxanne commented darkly.

The reporter watched as the alien's face blanched and his frown deepened as he remembered the night of their first 'real official' date that had ended in disaster when Roxanne had learned who Megamind truly was after masquerading as Bernard while the two of them had been dating.

Thankfully, following Titan's defeat, Roxanne had forgiven Megamind and she had been the one who suggested entering into an official relationship, for which the alien could not have been happier.

"You came with the cops just in time before he could do anything bad, M," Roxanne sighed.

"B—but Roxy…" Megamind slammed his foot on the brakes as they reached the outside of their apartment complex and regarded his girlfriend with something akin to shock in his bright green eyes.

Roxanne flinched, but was unable to tear her gaze away from his piercing stare. She bit her tongue and waited.

"Even if that jerk didn't get to the worst part of…whatever he was wanting to do to you, he still attacked you. He forced you up against the wall and tried to…tried to…" His voice cracked.

Frowning, Roxanne stared back at Megamind. She didn't need her boyfriend to tell her that what the Incinerator had done to her was all kinds of wrong. She knew that it was, but she really didn't want Megamind to get involved. He had done so much for her, had changed so much of who he had been previously. He'd given up his life of crime and had gone over to the side of good, claiming he did it for her so that he could get the girl. Her. Roxanne shook her head to clear it, frustrated.

She didn't want the alien to do anything rash that she knew he would only regret later. "Let the cops deal with the Incinerator, M," she whispered, hoping her voice sounded calm, and thinking it was kind of ironic how the two of them had switched roles for a moment. She was the one who'd been kidnapped, and almost had unspeakable things done to her, Minion watching, but he was the one who seemed to need the comfort the most in this moment, and then it hit Roxanne like a brick.

Roxanne and Minion to Megamind was his entire world, the only good things in his life to come out of defending Metro City. Aside from having the citizens' respect, but he didn't care about that. The two he cared about the most in this life had been kidnapped, taken from him tonight and almost killed, and had something happened to either her or Minion, he would have lost a part of himself.

There would have been no doubt in Roxanne's mind that Megamind would have quickly whiplashed from despair to destruction if he'd lost either her or his best friend tonight. "I…"

Her voice trailed off as she struggled to think of the only thing to say as she gathered her bag out of the backseat and slung it over her shoulder, sighing in frustration as the blue alien strode over to the passenger seat of their invisible car and flung the door wide open for his girlfriend as she got out.

"I'm sorry," Roxanne whispered in a small voice, feeling her left hand close into a protective fist around the strap of her black bag, feeling immensely grateful that the Incinerator hadn't ruined it, and it was pretty much as good as new. The only thing he'd stolen out of her had been her cash, and that could easily be replaced. Once the police were done de-thawing him out of that block of ice, maybe the station would even call her down to press charges and she'd get all of her money back then.

Megamind sighed, putting his arm around her shoulder, and closing off the gap of space between the two of them. "It isn't all on you, Roxy," he sighed. "I always knew you were crazy. Who would go out with Minion at around twelve o' clock in the morning for packages of cookies? Only Roxanne Ritchi would actually get excited whenever I'd kidnap you in times past," he grinned, a mischievous twinkle starting in his green eyes that Roxanne had recognized well over the last few months of them steady dating, whenever he wanted to 'go to bed,' as he liked to put it to her.

Roxanne felt a smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth as she quirked a brow at her boyfriend from another planet and folded her arms across her chest. "I'm crazy, huh?" she asked, teasing him.

"Well, yeah." Megamind shrugged and shot her a tiny smile. "But I'm crazy too. You can't bring out something that isn't there, Rox, and you and me. Together, we bring out the crazy in both of us, but it was already a part of me to begin with. You drive me crazy, and I drive you crazy. I know that. It isn't your fault any more than it is mine. But next time you go out for a midnight snack run…"

His voice trailed off and hardened, and Roxanne swallowed nervously, thinking that now was the part that she had kind of been dreading all night. The part where Megamind would scream and yell at her for allowing herself and Minion to be caught in a compromising position and get themselves kidnapped. She steeled her facial muscles as she watched a muscle in Megamind's jaw twitched.

Roxanne was totally prepared for one of his outbursts of brief, fiery anger, but it didn't come.

"Next time," Megamind began in a slow, cautious voice, though there was no hiding the smirk that was forming on his thin blue eyes. "Get the Halloween Oreos. You know those are my favorites," he joked, giving her shoulder a gentle squeeze, and leaning over to kiss her again.

Roxanne smiled back at Megamind and slowly leaned in, so her forehead rested against his. He didn't object as she laid her head against his chest and closed her eyes, and she felt his slender arm wrap securely around her shoulders. "You got it, M," she breathed breathlessly, basking in his warmth. "Thank you for saving us." He would never have any idea how grateful she was to him.

Megamind pulled back, looking slightly offended. "N—no problem, Roxy. It's what I'm supposed to do now. Instead of kidnapping you," he added, letting out a content little sigh as he reached up a hand and playfully bopped Roxanne on the nose, "Instead of kidnapping you, these days…I guess I…I rescue you, Roxanne. Me and Minion…we're the good guys now. Forever. And you're safe."

Roxanne nodded. Megamind was right. She was safe. So was Minion. Thanks to him. Roxanne exhaled a shaking breath as she closed her eyes as she leaned against his side, her hands splayed across his chest. The reporter couldn't quite help herself whenever she was around the blue alien.

Roxanne Ritchi had never expected to fall in love with Megamind. Falling in love with the blue alien had been the easy part. It was admitting to herself that it happened that was the hard part sometimes. But she knew that was what falling in love was like, a story she never wanted to end.

For so long had she longed for it, and now that she had it, this moment with her nestled in his arms, she did not want to lose it, for it was much too precious a moment for Roxanne to ruin.

To lose this thing that made her feel so complete. Roxanne's musing was interrupted as Megamind's hand reached for hers and they interlocked as they kissed outside of their apartment tentatively, passionately, and then tenderly. Roxanne let out a hiss as she felt little sparks of static dancing over her collarbones where the pads of his fingertips grazed her skin near Roxanne's neck.

She wasn't sure if they were from where the alien's hands gently skimmed her skin. Either way, it was kind of a magical feeling and caused the reporter to shiver in complete pleasure and ecstasy.

It made her forget about the Incinerator, and the horrible ordeal she and Minion had been through.

His lips pressed against hers with passion, love, and affection as his warm blue hands wrapped tightly around her middle, leaving a trail of sparks in their wake. "You're beautiful, Roxy," he whispered, so Roxanne felt his warm breath in her ear. She wrinkled her nose in light protest.

"Shut up and kiss me, M," Roxanne whispered playfully back and she laughed as his lips gently brushed against hers again, and she grinned as he smiled into their kiss as his fingers tugged at his sweater and the other hand gently scratched at his back. "You know I love you, M, right?" she whispered as their eyes made contact as they broke apart. "I know it I don't say it enough."

"I know," he answered steadily, his hand drifting from her waist to grip her hand in his. "But you think it every day. It's in your eyes, I can tell whenever I catch you staring at me and you think I'm not looking," he teased, ignoring the light blush speckling along her cheeks, "And that's good enough for me," he grinned, pressing his lips to her forehead for a gentle kiss. Roxanne nodded, still blushing under the scrutiny of his gaze, allowed him to hold her hand and lead her into their home.

Somehow, Roxanne knew that as long as she and Minion were by Megamind side, that everything was going to be okay.

And she knew that it was because she had no intention of ever letting him go.
