Annabeth POV:

I groaned rolling out of bed already dreading what's to come today. Today especially seemed to just drag on. From the moment I got out of bed to when I'm out the door and on my way to Goode.

I was just dressed in a pair of loose fitting ripped boyfriend jeans and a grey hoodie that was a size too big.

I ascended the stairs of the polished stone steps and leaned against the railing.

It was fairly early in the morning and only a few students were here. There were some kids lounging on the grass and some of the jocks tossing a football to try and impress the cheerleaders.

I rolled my eyes and slipped my phone out of my pocket. It was a pretty new model. The iPhone 8. Most kids had the x but I found that to be a little much. I mean if it works it works right?

I opened my Instagram and checked my dms from a few classmates and some from strangers that I didn't bother checking. My account was set to private so that I could ensure there wasn't any creeps or anything. I had a few requests but I decided to thoroughly check them when I got home.

I had a couple hundred followers on the app. I think around 750. It wasn't much but I didn't care. I don't post much on my account besides a few occasional selfies that I found were decent and a few with my brothers.

It was a few minutes later when the doors opened. Students pushed around trying to get inside and meet their friends. I squeezed through the doors and made a beeline for my locker. I knew from first hand experience not to talk to anyone and distract myself.

I took out the books for my first class and waited in the cafeteria for the bell to ring.

I heard laughter come from my right. I turned to the source of the sound and found myself staring right into Percy's eyes.

He blushed and looked down. I thought it was cute it added color to his otherwise tanned face.

I jumped up at the sound of someone slapping their hands on the table. Looking up I saw a grumpy Thalia slumping down into the seat in front of me.

"Hey" I wiggled my fingers at her in greeting.

She grunted. That's Thalia for you.

She started to ramble about her awful morning and I tuned out halfway through her speech when I realized this would take a while.

I tried to connect the dots with the freckles that danced across the bridge of her nose and splattered her left and right cheek. I gave up when I forgot which freckles I had already connected. Instead focusing on the way her eyes flashed like lightning and the blue that looked so intense and stormy, but hidden behind that intimidating barrier there was a sense of softness to it.

"-ey hey" I snapped my head back and almost gave myself whiplash.

"Yeah" I mumbled.

She rolled her eyes. "did you hear anything I said at all?" She accused

"mhm, something about you tripping over your brother's socks"

She stared at me "What's with you today? Usually you'd give me a lecture about watching my steps"

"Nothing, Just... tired I guess"

She dismissed the topic but I knew she didn't fully believe me.

"So did you want to come to my house after school today and watch this new movie everyone's been raving about. I'll bring the snacks" Thalia asked nudging my foot with hers.

"Sure, I'll be there" I replied pushing her legs off me.

"Great" She exclaimed clasping her hands together. "I'll invite piper and Will too."

I agreed with a nod of my head and laced my fingers together delicately.

Thalia eyed me warily but eventually settled with scrolling through her phone.

I looked back towards Percy's table and sighed. Drew was hovering over him, both palms flat on the table and she was whispering something into his ear.

I wasn't jealous. I don't think I was. I didn't like him like that. He had a girlfriend and I was perfectly content with my status. So why was I so bothered by Drew's presence. And why did my heart clench and-

"Bethhhhh" I slowly turned my head towards Thalia.

Her eyes widened.

"what" I looked around

"You, miss have some explaining to do." She said smirking.

"Whattt" I threw my hands up exasperatedly

Her eyes glittered like she knew something I didn't.

I punched her shoulder "Whattt Thalia, why'd you call me".

She shook her head and laughed. I rolled my eyes.

The bell finally rang and I scooped up my bag and my phone that was laying on the table dropping it into my pocket before turning around to find my class.

I sat in the back sketching designs that I wanted to see in the city when I grew up. The teacher was nowhere to be found and everyone was just talking to their friends. It was first period so I hadn't received any homework yet.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Nico grinning at me.

"Bro, when'd you get here." I asked ruffling his hair slightly.

He scowled at me and patted his hair down.

"Just last night" he replied tapping his fingers against the desk.

"Wha- how, you weren't supposed to be here 'till next week" I responded slightly confused.

"Shhh, I know. And you can't tell Will. It's supposed to be a surprise"

I imitated zipping my lips and tossing the key.

He snorted at my ridiculous antics.

"So...anything interesting happen yesterday?" He asked me nudging my shoulder playfully.

"Nah, Thalia just being Thalia and-" I cut myself off remembering the movie Thalia talked about. "Oh Thalia said we were gonna watch that new movie. Will's going to be there too"

He smiled almost dreamily. I stifled a groan. The pair was so in love and they don't even know.

"That it?" He asked suspiciously

"Yup" I replied popping the p.

"No, you're hiding something. What is it" He narrowed his eyes at me.

I glanced away.

Nico gasped. "You so are. c'mon what is it?"

I pushed his cold hands off of mine"

"Nothing, Shut up please"

He was about to say something when the teacher walked in.

The rest of the hour passed by in a blur.

Things were going pretty normally... until lunch rolled around.

I was standing in line waiting to pay for my food when I felt someone shove me from behind.

I toppled and used my hands to stop me from landing face first into the floor.

I heard Snickers from the person that I assumed pushed me.

I sat on the floor trying to keep calm and looked up to see who in hades had the audacity to push me. I found myself staring right back at-

Drew

Mkay so another chapter down. Sorry for the long wait. This one wasn't checked for mistakes so sorry if there are any bad ones. I just really wanted to get this one up.

Please review. I'd love to hear any suggestions and just reviews in general. They're precious to me.

Hopefully the next chapter won't take as long.
