Thank you so much for those that have followed and reviewed it is so appreciated. This story ended up far longer than expected and I do find longer stories I lose focus and it does not live up to expectations. Therefore this will be the last chapter. I hope this is just a little fluffy cuteness that wraps this up. It has potential for a sequel and I will consider that but for now this is the end. I have a couple one shots/stories lines up separate to this that I may post tonight. Once again thank you.

Chapter Fourteen

Ziva sat on the toilet lid, shaking and crying, holding the stick in her hands, the little blue plus seemingly brighter and brighter. They had been careful, she thought they had. She tried to think of every time they slept together, every morning she took her pill. The time she switched pills and wasn't taking it for a while, but then they used condoms, she was sure they used condoms. But every time was so heated and passionate, they could easily have slipped up. Had her new pill not worked, what about that one-time Tony just pulled out, had he managed in time. No, he definitely did, and she got a period after. Her mind was drowning in thoughts, a million and one times that could have led to this. A baby, how could they possibly have a baby together. Yes, things had been great, amazing even, but they had only been together eight months. It had been so turbulent; wouldn't a baby make the little things worse. Ziva hiccupped and tried to control her breathing. She had to speak to Tony. That was their thing, talking. Tony loved to talk; he was non-stop ramble all day long talk to anyone, but she was the opposite. Although a promise was made to be more open, to let Tony in. She wasn't always perfect, but she tried.

"Zee you alright in there?"

She couldn't hide forever, she knew that.

"Come in" She whispered.

The door opened and Tony entered, his eyes wide and concerned. Dropping to his knees in front of Ziva he allowed the little stick in her hands to sink in. The realisation was daunting but oh so exciting. He could tell by the tears in her eyes that she was scared though.

"Hey, look at me" He whispered tiling her chin, so her eyes fixed on his. He wasn't going to over think this, not yet. He would be there for her, offer her the comfort she need to wrap her mind around this.

"I don't know how this happened"

Tony smirked, his boyish mind remembering all their sexual encounters, that led them to this moment.

"I know how Tony" Ziva sighed. "I just thought we were careful"

Her voice was still uneven, and Tony knew he had to take control, he had to reassure her muddled mind.

"Accidents happen"

"Is that what this baby will be, an accident…how is that fair to the baby, do we have the baby, do you want it?" Ziva rambled nervously.

"I couldn't think of anything greater, than having a baby with you"

His words were warm and melted her heart. Her nerves starting to slowly ease as the news set in.

"I don't know if I am meant to be a mother" Ziva sighed.

It was not that she didn't want the baby. Sure, it was a shock and unexpected, but she had thought of having children, she wanted to be settled and have that family life she never had, but doubts would always fill her mind. Her childhood hardly gave her scope for how it should be done.

"You would make a fantastic mother Ziva, but if this is not something you want or you're not ready for…I won't pressure you"

He couldn't help but feel gutted. Seeing the positive stick made his insides jump with excitement, images of a pregnant Ziva followed by a mini version of her running around the apartment. They hadn't discussed children; the relationship was still developing but he had hoped she would want to start a family one day. Pressuring her was not an option no matter how excited he was at the prospect.

"I don't deserve you Tony DiNozzo"

"Hey, don't speak like that, you deserve the world"

Ziva smiled, she hadn't meant to put herself down, she knew how much Tony hated that, but it was hard to accept her luck sometimes.

"Having a baby is hard, and what about work…and…"

"One step at a time"

"What's step one?"

"I guess we need to get you checked at the doctors, just to be sure and stuff" Tony suggested, not really knowing what to do.

"I can make an appointment today"

"You haven't got to make a decision about this baby right away" Tony whispered.

Ziva cradled his face in her hands, stroking her thumbs along his cheek bones, her soft skin brushing his stubbled face.

"Do you want this baby?" Ziva asked.

Tony swallowed hard. He was scared and taken off guard but having a baby with Ziva was a dream, the best dream that would become reality.

"Yes, I do"

Ziva nodded, kissing his lips softly and pulling back just enough to catch his eyesight.

"Me to"

Tony and Ziva stood nervously in the elevator, alongside Gibbs, McGee, Abby, Ducky and Jimmy. They had all crammed in after Tony requested a team talk and then Ziva had hit the switch. Everyone was staring at the couple expectantly, eyes wide wandering what could possibly be happening.

"We haven't got all day DiNozzo" Gibbs mumbled.

Tony smiled and wrapped his arm around Ziva, holding her tightly to his side. His other hand moving to her still relatively flat stomach. It was Abby who picked up on the movement first, her mouth opening wide about to scream in excitement before Tony made the announcement stopping her in her tracks.

"We are having a baby"

Excited cheers echoed in the metal elevator, McGee fist bumping Tony while Abby squealed and hugged Ziva tight. Ducky congratulated the pair, momentarily muttering some story of his mother's own pregnancy announcement. Gibbs however remained silent, his back against the furthest wall of the elevator. Ziva was nervous, she hated how Gibbs would say so very little if anything at all. Tony didn't miss it either, his hand protectively squeezing Ziva's hip.

"Guy's this is amazing, we are going to have a team baby" Jimmy exclaimed, his excitement almost as high as Abby's.

"When is the baby due?" McGee asked.

"Erm, June"

"Oh wow, so your about four months along?" Ducky asked, a hint of concern evident.

Ziva bowed her head slightly, not missing the tone nor Gibb's hardening stance in the corner.

"Yes roughly." Ziva admitted.

"Ziva you should not be…"

"I know...Ducky. I know, desk work"

"My dear I just wish everything to be as safe as possible for you and this baby"

"I know, I thank you for that"

"We were just waiting for the three-month mark, for safety…and I guess we just needed to find the right time" Tony added.

He didn't want anyone to judge Ziva for having been in the field. They both knew she had been extra careful, working out their own little plan for keeping her safe while they kept her pregnancy under wraps. Tony would do the hard fighting, he would stand in front of Ziva when guns were drawn, she would opt out of field work where possible. It wasn't perfect, nor that safe but they needed the time of it being just them knowing.

"Well we will look after you Ziva" Jimmy added.

"Oh yeah and spoil you rotten" Abby added.

Gibbs still remained silent, his gaze not even on the couple. Ziva couldn't help but feel a little hurt, she had hoped he would be pleased, at least say congratulations. She wasn't entirely sure what she had done wrong, or if it was just that fact, she had fallen pregnant and would no longer be in the field. Was he annoyed at that, at potentially getting another field agent to cover her?

"I think we should probably head back to work, don't you think" Ducky suggest, having noted the longing gaze between Ziva and the back of Gibb's head.

McGee flipped the switch back, the doors quickly opening and the team exiting, except Gibbs. He remained in his position and something told Tony and Ziva they were supposed to stay put to.

"I erm…I will get back to the paperwork McGee mumbled noting the rest of the agents staying put.

Tony just nodded as the doors closed once more. This time it was Gibbs to flip the switch. He still hadn't spoken or looked at the couple. Both Tony and Ziva felt nervous, nowhere to run to.

"Please say something Gibbs"

Ziva's voice was soft and vulnerable, seeking some kind of comfort.

Gibbs finally looked up and it was then that Tony and Ziva noticed the tears welling in their stone-cold boss eyes. They wouldn't fall, they knew that for sure, but it was clear Gibbs was a little overwhelmed with the news.

"Gibbs…"

"I'm proud of the both of you"

He was composed as he spoke and so genuine. His arms extending to hold Ziva for a moment, his signature peck to her temple. She didn't want to let go, staying tucked in his side. She found herself oh so often seeking the approval of Gibbs, like so much came down to him and his thoughts.

"So how do you feel about being a Grandpa?" Tony chuckled.

Gibbs slapped his head with his free hand before grasping his shoulder in an affectionate way.

"Don't mess this up DiNozzo"

"Oh, I am determined not to, Ziva and this baby are my world"

"Good…does senior know?"

"Yes, we told him last night, he is very excited"

"Good, babies are a wonderful thing"

"Are you mad I can't work in the field?"

"Would I rather have you than some rookie, sure…but I'd rather have my grandchild more"

Ziva smiled, that was enough for her she could deal with that.

"It won't be forever"

"I know"

FIVE MONTHS LATER

Ziva lay on the hospital bed, the baby girl in her arms. Her tiny fingers grasping Tony's as he perched on the edge.

"She is so perfect guys"

"She really is" Ziva smiled.

It sure wasn't easy, bring a baby into this world but it was so rewarding to hold this perfect little bundle in her arms.

"I can't believe you guys are parents, who would have thought it" McGee laughed.

"Ziva I can believe…" Abby smirked.

"Watch it scuito" Tony wanred lightly.

"I am just saying, you were such a player when you were young, when you first met each other. Now your all loved up and have a baby" Abby explained.

"I never thought I'd see the day" Ziva laughed.

Tony nuzzled her neck, placing a sweet kiss before moving to her cheek.

"Hey hey, save it for later" Gibbs warned.

Tony grumbled but stopped his assault of kisses.

"I am just proud of my girl"

"So does your baby girl have a name?" Jimmy asked.

"Yes…Tali"

"Oh, guys that's perfect!"

"That was your sisters name?" Ducky asked.

"It was"

"Oh, well that is perfect indeed"

"Have I got to wait for an invitation to hold my granddaughter"? Gibbs asked softly.

His cool demeanour diminished as he scooped the baby from Ziva's arms and held her protectively.

"He's become soppy" Tony whispered into Ziva's ear.

"No, he hasn't…just with Tali"

"You know, we can use her to our advantage now, he will never say no again if we use Tali"

"We are not using our daughter to get away with stuff" Ziva mumbled lightly, but she wasn't entirely opposed.

Gibbs cooed over the baby, rocking her gently in his arms.

"Your mum and dad think they are smart, but they will never get anything passed me" Gibbs whispered.

Both Tony and Ziva looking at each other and laughing. Gibbs hearing was like a hawk.

"But you, you can get away with anything" He whispered to the baby.

Ziva smiled, the family feeling was an overwhelming one, but she loved it. The women that walked into NCIS all those years ago, overconfident, overtly sexual and teasing…not a care in the world, little to no maternal instinct, a commitment phobe, and here she was now. Holding her baby with her man, the love so extensive she couldn't put it into words. Her extended family so much greater than she could ever have wished. Her life was still complex, and some days were harder than others but what she had was perfect. She wouldn't change it for the world.
