The sun blazed down upon Horatio's red hair and as Calleigh looked at him through the windshield of her Hummer, she could swear he was literally on fire. What she did not realize was Horatio really was blazing inside. Calleigh was not sure if she should drive up and approach him so she just watched.

Knowing that Calleigh was in the distance watching and not caring at all, Horatio stepped to the railing of the Venetian Causeway bridge and waited. He stared intently at the boat gliding on the choppy waterway towards him. Horatio knew just how to time it. He counted down in his head the precise moment and then glanced at Calleigh and jumped.

Calleigh's heart stopped and jaw dropped open as she saw Horatio disappear and his sunglasses fall. Immediately, she jumped out of her Hummer and yelled, "Horatio!" as she ran to the railing where he jumped. She leaned over and saw the stern disappear under the bridge. Calleigh ran to the other side railing and the bow came into view. She saw Horatio standing on the bow's deck with his glock pointed at the captain driving.

Calleigh pulled out her phone and dialed and when the dispatcher answered, she frantically said, "This is CSI Duquesne. Get the Coast Guard into Biscayne Bay now! If you don't, Lieutenant Caine could be walking the plank!"

"Shut it off, now!" Horatio said as he pointed his glock.

"Caine, I knew you were crazy, but you're also nuts."

"I'm not going to ask again. Turn it off or I'll turn this fiberglass float into a man-made reef!"

"Aww, lieutenant, you may hold the gun but I hold the upper hand and it's on the boat's trigger. Now, if I were you, I'd think twice about pulling yours. I can assure you, mine's faster."

Horatio kept his aim as he watched the Coast Guard approaching quickly. He waited just long enough to prove his point then pulled the trigger.

The bullet pierced the floorboard and bay water came bubbling up quickly through the hole.

"Caine, you son of a bitch!" Raul yelled and went to slide the throttle down, but before he could, the Coast Guard pointed their guns while one plugged the hole.

"It appears, Raul, that your ship..." Horatio said as he stooped down to get his sunglasses and slipped them on while facing Calleigh still watching from the bridge, "Has finally sunk."

Calleigh waved and smiled back to Horatio. When she turned around, there stood Walter with a smirk of his own. He had been watching also. "Just like H. I wondered why he ran out of the lab like a bat out of hell. Did you know about this?"

"No. Nothing. I was just crossing the bridge on my way back to the lab and saw him and stopped. When Horatio jumped, Walter, I was shocked."

"Do you even know who that guy is?"

"He doesn't look familiar. Horatio obviously knows him."

"You don't say," Walter said with a grin as the Coast Guard tied a line to the boat and started pulling it. "And I think we will know soon enough."

"We better get to the pier and meet them."

Walter and Calleigh were standing on the dock waiting as the Coast Guard pulled in to tie up to the pylon. A deputy stood to take the suspect away as well. As soon as they were docked, Horatio jumped off and looked at Walter. "Walter, go over this boat with a fine toothed comb. The heroin is on it somewhere."

"Will do H. but man, you gotta tell us, who is he?"

"A blast from my past, Walter. A blast from my past."

"A blast from his past?" Walter said as he turned to Calleigh.

"Maybe he thinks he's Brendan Fraser."

"And I guess that makes you Alicia Silverstone?"

"As if," Calleigh said as she smiled and started to walk away.

Walter boarded the boat and started his investigation. He looked in every noticeable nook and cranny. He opened the bow hatch and found life vests but no heroine. As he was bending over lowering the lid, a little girl's voice startled him, "Can I come out now. Is it safe?"

Walter leaned up and stood still as he turned his head and looked around. Seeing nothing, he said, "This Miami heat is finally getting to me. I could have sworn I heard a little girl."

"You heard me. I'm down here. I've been hiding from the bad man who hurt mommy. She told me to run and I did."

Walter turned to look down into the cabin's hatch and there she stood staring up at him. Dressed in a My Little Pony nightshirt and with tasseled dark hair, she smiled and asked, "Are you a policeman? Mommy said I can trust a policeman."

"I am and your mommy is right. You can trust me. What's your name? I'm Walter, and see, here's my badge. I really am a policeman."

"Emmie. That's shiny."

"Well, Emmie, lets get you up here and I'll let you hold it if you like."

"I'll like that."

Walter leaned down and offered his hand. Emmie took it and he literally pulled her up through the hatch. As he did, a plume of white dust seemed to waft around her.

"Looks like you went a little overboard on the baby powder there Emmie," Walter said as he handed his badge to her.

Emmie took it and smiled while saying, "It's not baby powder. It's that white stuff where I was hiding."

Walter looked at her and paused. "Can you show me where at down there you were hiding Emmie? Just point if you can."

"In there," Emmie's little finger pointed through the hatch to the door that was now half ajar. "One of the big bags fell and white dust just got all over me. I had to hold my nose and breath."

"Stay here Emmie."

"You're going down there?"

"I have too. I need to check it out. Just stay right there. You can be the officer now and show the badge if anyone comes."

"I will. I promise."

Walter lowered his big frame down into the cabin and opened the door where Emmie had been hiding. Under his breath he said, "Jackpot."

Walter then emerged through the hatch and Emmie still stood where he told her. "Emmie, you're a very smart girl to hold your breath like you did. But we must get you out of that shirt. It's not safe for you."

"I can't take it off Walter. I... I... I don't have anything on underneath."

"Not even any..."

"Nope."

Walter looked at Emmie as he pulled out his phone and dialed. "Hey Calleigh, I got a little problem..."

"I want my mommy."

"Walter, who was that? It sounded like a little girl," Walter heard through the receiver.

"I know you do Emmie," Walter said as he turned to her. "It was Calleigh. Her name is Emmie and she was hiding on the boat. Her mom told her to run. She looks to be about Patty's height and age. I'm guessing. Emmie, how old are you?"

"Eight. Are you on the phone with another policeman? Does he know where my mommy is?"

"Policewoman Emmie. And with a little help from you, she is gonna try to find your mommy."

"I heard her. I'm on the way Walter."

"Hey Calleigh, bring some clothes for her. She was dowsed with heroin and I gotta get her out of that nightshirt."

"It just so happens I have a bag in my Hummer. I don't think Patty will mind."

Walter turned back around and Emmie was standing in the same spot. He smiled again and said as he held out his hand, "Come on Emmie. Let's take a little walk to my riding lab. I think I may have something in there that you can put on."

Emmie stuck out her little hand and held on to Walter's big one that engulfed hers. As they began to walk, Emmie asked, "That policewoman coming to take me and ask questions isn't she?"

"Yes. You'll like her. She has a daughter about your age. She'll be here shortly."

"Why can't you take me Walter?"

"Well, because Emmie, you know that white stuff that got all over you and you had to hold your nose? It was bad drugs and I have to take it into evidence."

Emmie stopped walking and looked up at Walter. "You mean I'm dirty with drugs? Mommy told me never to do drugs. They will get me in trouble." She said as her hand came out of Walter's and without hesitation, pulled her nightshirt off and threw it.

Now standing naked in front of him, Walter exclaimed, "Emmie! Really? A few minutes ago you said you couldn't take it off." He then scooped her up into his wide arms and ran as fast as he could to his Hummer. "You could have waited until we reached my riding lab."

"But Walter I wasn't legal. I was dirty with drugs."

As Emmie finished, Walter reached his Hummer and reached for the door handle. Slipping Emmie into the seat, he said, "Now Emmie, stay here while I look for something you can put on."

"Okay Walter. I won't budge. I promise."

Walter went to the back of his Hummer and moved a few things around. "Come on Walter, you know you have something in here," he said under his breath. The only thing he found was his police vest. It would have to do.

"Okay Emmie, I found something. When I come to the door, I'm gonna have my back turned and then you can open it. I'll hand you this so you can put it on while I stand in front of you."

"Okay."

Walter turned his back at the door and then heard it open. Walter reached around with his vest in his hand and waited for Emmie to take it.

Emmie did but almost dropped it since it was heavy. Try as she might, she just could not get it on. "Um, Walter, I need some help. I can't get it."

"Try again. I don't want to turn around. "

"It's okay Walter. I don't care if you see. You'll be helping me."

"Emmie, I really cant. You have to try again."

"Okay, if you say so."

"I say so. You can do it." Walter said and he heard ruffling.

"Okay Walter, you can turn around now. I'm covered but I can't buckle it. You'll have to do it."

Walter turned around and smiled. "See, I knew you could do it. Let me just tighten it here."

Emmie grinned as Walter fastened the buckle. "It's heavy."

"Yes, it is but it saves lives."

"You saved me Walter. Can you save my mommy."

Walter put his big hand to the side of Emmie's little face and said, "My whole team will try and save your mommy. I promise. And there's one of them now."

"Is she the one you called?"

"Yes, Emmie, she is. Her name is Calleigh."

"She's really pretty."

"Well, looks like someone is ready for the team. You must be Emmie. I'm Calleigh." Calleigh said with a smile as she approached.

Emmie smiled but immediately locked up. There was no sound out of her mouth.

"I didn't have anything else for her to wear Calleigh."

"As much as you look cute in that Emmie, come with me. I have something that will fit you perfectly."

Calleigh stuck out her hand but Emmie did not take it. She just stood there staring. Then she looked at Walter.

Walter kneeled to her level and said, "Emmie, remember I said Calleigh is part of my team and you'll like her. Go, I promise you will be safe."

Emmie then hugged Walter and took Calleigh's hand. Walter watched as they walked to Calleigh's Hummer. When they were out of earshot, Walter pulled out his phone and dialed. "H., Calleigh is coming in with a little girl that was hiding on the boat. She said her mother told her to run. She was hiding from the bad man that hurt her mother. H., I think you better try talking to the perp again."

"The little girl, Raul?"

"What little girl? I swear Caine, you really are losing it."

"The little girl hiding in the spot where you were stashing the heroin."

"Lieutenant, I swear, I know nothing about a little girl. You got me on the drugs, I admit that, but there was no little girl on that boat when I left dock."

"Then how do explain she got there."

"You're the detective Caine, detect!"

"And what about the little girl's mother? What did you do with her?"

"Again lieutenant, you're making allegations. All I did was take the heroin to deliver for the boss. There was no mother and no little girl. Pin the trafficking on me, but you can't get me on any other charges."

"We'll see about that." Horatio said as he opened the door and then saw Calleigh entering with Emmie at her side. Horatio smiled as Calleigh held Emmie's hand.

"Emmie, we are going to go right in there. There are games you can play with. I've got to inform my lead but I'll be right outside the door. If you need anything, just open the door. Okay?"

Emmie only looked at Calleigh with no expression. She just stood there.

Calleigh sighed as she exited and looked at Horatio who had met her at the door.

"Not talking is she."

"Not one word. I did get a smile when I gave her Patty's clothes to put on, but that was it."

"Traumatized. I'd be too if my mother told me to run."

"I know she speaks. I saw her talking to Walter. At least she let me help her change her clothes."

"She's scared Calleigh. Can't blame her. Maybe if I give it a try." Horatio said and opened the door.

Emmie looked at Horatio as she sat messing with a board game, but she had no expression. "Hi Emmie, I'm Horatio. May I join you?" Horatio asked as he sat beside her.

"Your mommy was smart to tell you to run." Horatio said as he picked up a game piece and twirled it in his fingers as he looked at it. "You were a very smart and brave girl."

Emmie looked up at Horatio and watched him with the game piece. Still, there was no expression and no words.

"Can you tell me how you found that boat? I bet it was dark in that room you were hiding in. I know you were scared."

Emmie placed a game piece on the board and picked up the dice. She rolled then began moving it the four spaces she rolled. She still did not answer.

Horatio picked up the dice and rolled as he asked, "Emmie the man on the boat, was he the one that hurt your mommy?" Horatio then moved his piece the seven spaces.

Emmie then frowned but Horatio could not tell if that was because of the question he asked about her mother or if it was because he passed her on the game board. Emmie then took the dice again and rolled. This time her game piece landed on the same spot as Horatio's.

"You must play this game at home Emmie. You're very good at it."

Emmie almost let a smile form but held out. When she reached for the dice again, she looked up and bolted out the door yelling, "Walter!

Walter stopped and when Emmie reached him, she jumped. Walter caught her and held her close to his big frame. "Hey now, Emmie, what in the world?"

"Apparently, she wanted Walter," Horatio said to Calleigh.

"Can you blame her? Just look at him. Who wouldn't want that big teddy bear?"

"Oh Walter. I wanted too," Emmie said as the tears started to flow and she had to stop.

"Wanted to what Emmie? You can tell me."

"Tell them. I couldn't. I wanted you."

"What did I tell you out by my rolling lab? About my team?"

"That I'd like her. Calleigh."

"And what? You don't? How could you not like Calleigh? Here, let's dry those tears." Walter said as he took his thumb and wiped her tear stained cheek.

"I do Walter. I do. She's really nice. But you're easier to talk too."

"I promised you that my team would help find your mommy didn't I?"

"Yes."

"Do you trust me Emmie?"

"I do Walter."

"Then trust me now."

"Okay Walter. I'll answer them."

Walter carried Emmie back to the playroom so she would be more comfortable. He sat down on the couch beside her as Calleigh and Horatio followed.

"Miss Calleigh, Thank you for the clothes. They are much lighter than what Walter put on me."

"You're very welcome sweetie. I know Patty won't mind."

"Could I meet her?"

"Of course you can. In fact, my husband is on the way here with her as we speak."

Emmie smiled then turned to Horatio. "Mr. Horatio, when I ran, I just ran. Then I saw that boat and hid. I did what mommy told me to do."

"You did Emmie. You certainly did. And it's just Horatio. No mister. The man on the boat Emmie?"

"He didn't hurt mommy. I didn't know him. It was another man."

"Emmie, do you think you could describe this man?"

"I can try. But how?"

"To a sketch artist. Anything you remember."

"A sketch artist. What's that?"

"That, Emmie, is an artist that will listen to you and sketch a picture of the description you give."

"If I do though, he may come after me like he did mommy."

"Emmie, I won't let that happen." Walter chimed in and put his arm around her.

"What Walter means, Emmie, is WE won't let that happen." Horatio replied.

"You won't? Promise?"

""Emmie, you have my word."

"I feel better now." Emmie said and looked at Walter. "You were right Walter. I do like them."

Horatio and Calleigh stood outside the door while Walter kept Emmie company by playing that same game with her.

"Calleigh, let's get Darla in here to get that sketch. She's good with children."

"Yeah, and so is he," Calleigh said and pointed to Walter. "Like I said, a big teddy bear."

Calleigh then pulled out her phone and called Darla. She watched Emmie with Walter and smiled as she informed her of the task. Darla arrived in five minutes armed with her digital facial reconstruction laptop.

"Hey Calleigh. She's in there?"

"Yeah. With Walter."

"Looks like she's taken a liking to him."

"I think it's the other way around if you ask me," Calleigh said with another smile.

Darla snickered and as she opened the door she looked at Calleigh and said quietly, "He is quite the big teddy bear." The door shut behind her afterwards.

"See, what did I tell you Horatio. Even Darla thinks Walter is all snuggly."

"Yes, and who knew... he could be a big snuggly CSI as well." Horatio said and walked away twirling his sunglasses.

Calleigh snickered as she turned back to watch through the window.

"Hi Emmie. I'm Darla. You think you can help me make a picture of the man you saw?"

"I sure am meeting a lot of people here Walter."

"You are and they are all here to help you."

"I know. I hope I can help."

"All I need you to do is just describe what he looked like. Anything you can remember."

"Okay. Start now?"

"Whenever you're ready."

"Walter, what if I say something wrong?"

"Emmie, just say what you saw. It'll be okay. Trust me."

"I trust you Walter." Emmie said and started describing.

When Darla finished, Walter looked at Calleigh and she could tell from Walter's expression it was someone they knew. She called Horatio immediately.

"Horatio, you need to get back here. Darla's done and judging by the expression on Walter's face, it's somebody we know."

"On my way."

"Did I do good Walter?" Emmie looked at him asking with a very concerned look.

"Emmie, you did wonderful."

"You did perfect Emmie." Darla said as she saved the sketch.

"Do you know him Walter? You looked at Miss Calleigh when I was done like you did."

"Well Emmie, I'm not gonna lie. Yes, I know him."

"Did you arrest him one time?"

"Not me. Horatio." Walter answered and pointed as Horatio walked in and around the table so he could see the computer.

"I think...Walter... Raul left something out." Horatio said and headed to the door.

"Walter, is Horatio going to save my mommy?"

"In a way Emmie. In a way. Let's just say we are getting closer."

Emmie smiled at Walter and then leaned into him and gave him a big hug. Walter just melted into her arms and everyone saw it.

"Now what am I doing back here Caine? I already told you everything."

"Raul, you left out your brother."

"My brother? What about him?"

"I don't know. What about him? You tell me Raul. Where did he take that little girl's mother?"

"What is it with you and some woman and a little girl? All I did was drive a boat. That's it. Nothing else. Whatever Ruis was doing was his business and not mine."

"Raul, you're really gonna sit here and tell me that you did not have a hand in scaring that little girl and taking her mother with your brother?"

"Caine, for the last time, I drove a boat full of drugs. That's it. Look at the surveillance tape from the dock if you really don't believe me."

"I think I will." Horatio said and pulled out his phone as he headed for the door."

Before he exited, Raul yelled, "Caine, I promise, you'll only find me at that boat. Trust me. You'll have to find Ruis to ask him about a mother and a little girl."

Horatio looked over his shoulder and said, "That...Raul... I can do."

Then Horatio dialed. "Frank, Ruis Gonzalez. Find him."

"Horatio, do you believe him?" Calleigh asked as he hung up the phone.

"Believe this or not, I actually do Calleigh. He's more adamant than he's ever been. Plus, we all know Ruis is more violent."

"That's an understatement." Calleigh said with a loud sigh.

As Horatio turned around, he was startled by a female officer with a headset. "What is it officer?"

"Lieutenant, we have a woman on the line claiming to be in danger. Says she's been kidnapped."

"Thank you officer. Patch her through."

"Horatio, you don't think..."

"This is Lieutenant Horatio Caine," he said and waited for a response. When he did hear a voice, he looked at Calleigh and mouthed the word "Yes."

"I'll go with Frank." Calleigh said and Horatio nodded.

"I'm hurt and been kidnapped. I don't have much time. If he knows I called you, he'll kill me. Someone needs to find my daughter."

"Ma'am, you're speaking of Emmie."

"Oh my god, you found her. She's such a good girl."

"Yes, she is with one of my officers. She's safe. Now, we are gonna find you." Horatio said and listened as closely as he could.

"I don't know how. I don't even know where I am. Oh no... he's coming... gotta..."

"What the hell! How did you get my phone!" Horatio heard him say then there was a loud smack and thud.

"Ruis!" Horatio yelled through the receiver.

"You've got to be kidding me. Caine, how did you know..."

"Because I... am your worst enemy."

"Calleigh, how the hell are we to find Ruis when we don't even know where to look."

"Frank, I have a feeling you'll be getting a call right about now," and miraculously, Frank's cell rang.

"You know Calleigh, you scare me sometimes."

"It's a gift," she answered with a smile.

"You got something Horatio," Frank said into his phone and continued to listen. Calleigh watched intently.

"Will do Horatio." Frank then looked at Calleigh and said, "The old North Dade Detention Center. He said he heard the clinking of bars shutting."

"That place has been abandoned for years. It would make a good hideout, especially when you've kidnapped someone."

"I swear Calleigh, you and Horatio have been hanging around too long. You're feeding off of each other." Frank said as he headed to his unmarked.

"Like I said, it's a gift," Calleigh said again with a smile as she piled into her Hummer.

Frank hauled down the highway with Calleigh close in tow, lights and sirens blazing. When they were close to the center, both cut the lights and sounds at the same time. Pulling in, the eerieness of the place really showed.

Calleigh pulled up beside Frank and getting out at the same time, Frank said, "I never thought I'd be back at this place. I put many dipsticks in this place."

"And you're about to put in another one."

"You ready Calleigh?"

"I'll follow you."

Frank drew his gun and Calleigh fell in behind him with hers drawn as well. Slowly they made their way into the dilapidated detention center. All kinds of debris and left over office equipment scattered the surroundings as they maneuvered around.

They turned the corner and stopped to listen.

"You're lucky bitch. I could have killed you after that little stunt. But you still have something I want. And I plan to get it. So, let's try this again. Tell me where the money is and I won't have to do this."

"For the hundredth time, I don't know what you're talking about. I am the wrong woman. I've never known any Pedro Ortiz."

"You're really gonna stick to that story aren't you?"

"It's the only story I got. I'm telling you, you have the wrong woman. I just want to be with my daughter."

"Keep this up bitch and your daughter won't have a mother,"

"But I keep telling you, I'm not who you think I am. I can't tell you anything because I don't know."

"You know what, I've had enough. You are going to take me to the money then I'm gonna leave your ass there to rot!"

Frank and Calleigh then heard rustling and shuffling then Emmie's mother screamed as she was pulled out by her arm by Ruis.

"Hold it Ruis!" Frank yelled and aimed. Calleigh backed him up the best she could.

Ruis pulled Emmie's mother into him and he wrapped his arm around her while he aimed the gun at her head with the other. "I swear cop, I'll kill her!"

"You do that and you won't find that money you have been yelling at her about."

"But I don't know..."

"Maybe she's telling you the truth, has that ever occurred to you?"

"She's been lying the whole time. Pedro told me she has it."

Frank took a step.

"Uh uh cop, don't you move. Any closer and I put a bullet in her brain. I mean it."

"Now if you did that, like my officer said, you'll never find that money." Horatio said as he touched the barrel of his glock to the back of Ruis' head. "Now, if I were you, I'd let her go."

Ruis let Emmie's mother go and immediately Calleigh called for to come to her. Calleigh met her half way.

"Now, drop the gun Ruis." Horatio said and pushed the barrel a little harder into the back of his head. "Now!"

Ruis dropped the gun and said, "Caine, I swear, one of these days, I will outwit you."

"Well today, Ruis... is not the day. Frank." Horatio said and Frank came towards them.

"Ruis Gonorrhea, you are under arrest."

"The name is Gonzalez."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'll transmit you to jail because you're still under arrest."

As Frank took Ruis out, Horatio joined Calleigh and Emmie's mother. She had a bad laceration to her leg that was still bleeding through her makeshift bandage. Horatio called for an ambulance but Emmie's mother had other things on her mind.

"Emmie first."

"After the paramedics look at you first. Your daughter is safe. Trust me."

"She really is. She's with a huge teddy bear."

"A huge teddy bear?"

"You'll see," Calleigh said and smiled. "Come on, let's get you looked at," and Calleigh helped her out to the ambulance now pulling up to meet them.

Horatio put his sunglasses on and headed for his Hummer. He knew exactly where he needed to go.

With his glock drawn, Horatio walked through the door of the warehouse and pointed it straight. "Pedro Ortiz!"

Pedro turned around and laughed.

"I wouldn't laugh if I were you. Ruis Gonzalez had the wrong woman."

"That idiot never even knew a brick wall facing him head on."

"Where is she Pedro?"

"In there," Pedro said and pointed his finger to the office in the distance.

"And the money?"

"I'm actually sitting on it," Pedro said as he got up from sitting on the trunk and lifted the lid. Horatio looked down and saw the cash. "I couldn't have your CSI finding it on that boat. The drugs, okay, but not this. No way."

"She had no idea about the money did she?"

"Not one bit. Ruis would have never found it even if he had the right woman. I knew he wouldn't be able to kill her. That would be up to me."

"You drive a hard bargain for a hit Pedro," Horatio said as she came out of the office.

Her high heels clicked heavily on the concrete floor of the warehouse as she came forward saying as she looked down into her purse, "I'm ready Pedro, we can go now." Then she looked up.

"We won't be going anywhere Manuela. This is the end of the road for you." Pedro said and drew his gun and pulled the trigger. Manuela hit the floor with a thud.

Then Pedro did the same. His body made an even louder thud. "And a dead end for you Pedro," Horatio said as he lowered his glock.

He then saw Manuela move and start to get up. He ran over to her . "Manuela, don't get up. You're hurt."

"Like hell. Bruised maybe. Did you kill him?"

"I did."

"Good. That's what he deserves for putting the hit on me," Manuela said as she pulled down the neck of her dress to show Horatio the bullet proof vest underneath. "I knew about that money. I knew I about the drugs. I knew he was going to kill me."

"What tipped you off Manuela?"

"When that idiot Ruis came and wanted what he thought was his money. Then Raul showed up to be the boat driver after that.

"It was you who phoned in the tip."

"Yes, and I knew you had to be the one to get it. I knew you had arrested Raul before. Ruis though, well he saw the woman on the other boat and assumed it was me. I was about to jump on the boat to get that little girl out that ran to it when Raul showed up to take it. I figured you'd find her with my call."

"We did. And her mother."

"Good. You can take me in now. I'm tired of talking."

"Take you where Manuela?" Horatio said as he slipped his sunglasses on and walked toward the warehouse door.

"Mommy!" Emmie yelled and jumped up from the couch and game she was playing with Patty and Walter. She ran out the door and straight into her mother's arms.

"Mommy! I did what you said. I ran and hid. Walter found me."

"Walter?"

"Yeah, in there," Emmie said as she pointed. Walter looked on and smiled. "I like him mommy. He's so nice. Come on, mommy you need to meet him."

Emmie's mother smiled and nodded at Walter as Emmie pulled her towards the door. While Walter made his way out to meet them, she looked at Calleigh and said quietly, "He really is a big teddy bear isn't he."

Calleigh smiled and said, "Told you," as Patty joined her.

"Hello ma'am." Walter said as Emmie took his hand while still holding on to her mother's.

"Walter, I assume? Loribell Hutchins. Emmie's mom."

"Yes ma'am. Walter Simmons."

"Thank you for finding my daughter." Loribell said as she hugged Emmie.

"Well, she actually found me instead. If she hadn't said something first, she could still be hiding."

"I knew he was a policeman mommy. That's why I said something. You always told me I could trust policemen."

"I did sweetie. And I trusted them too. Walter rescued you like Miss Delko rescued me."

"Thank you Miss Calleigh for finding my mommy and letting Patty play with me."

"Aww, honey, you're so welcome. You can play with Patty anytime you want."

"I'd like that."

Horatio then came walking up and smiled at Emmie saying, "I see you introduced your mother to your big teddy bear."

"I did Horatio. And he's so cuddly," Emmie said on cue and did not even know it, while she hugged Walter yet again.

"Big teddy bear? Um, am I missing something?"

"Just be glad Walter... you're not a mean grizzly," Horatio said and they all laughed. Except Walter himself, who then smiled and picked Emmie up to give her a real teddy bear hug.
