"Yona... Yona…"

I opened my eyes, after hearing someone call my name.

Everything around me was dark, and I can't see a single thing.

"Who's there?" I shouted across the room, as I sat up from the bed, and clutched the fabric of the blanket towards my body.

"Yona…"

The voice was low, almost a whisper, but I'm pretty sure the voice came from inside this room.

Then realization hit me.

Where is this room? Where are the others? How did I end up here?

My eyes are now wide open, and my whole body tensed, waiting.

I can almost hear my own heartbeat, increasing rapidly as every second passes.

"What are you so afraid of?" the voice suddenly asked, but this time, it was louder.

"Who are you? What do you want?" I replied, as I tried to calm down my now shaking body.

The voice did not answer.

Then I felt a cold wind blew past my face.

I froze in the spot, as I kept my eyes wide open, holding my breath.

The deep voice laughed across the room, and my heart jumped and thumped faster.

"Show yourself to me," I said, my voice determined.

"Shhh… don't be afraid." The voice whispered.

As my eyes adjusted to the dark, I saw the figure of a man, striding towards me.

I swallowed, and prepared my whole body to fight if need arise.

Then a sweet, sweet smell wafted to my nose.

"What did you dream about?" the voice said once more.

Then I felt a cold hand touch my arm, and I let out a scream.

I sat up from the bed, screaming.

I buried my face in my hands, with tears streaming down my face.

Someone burst in the door and ran towards me.

As soon as I felt a hand touch my shoulder, I cried harder, and began jerking my body away.

"Yona… Yona!"

I froze as I recognized the voice.

I quickly opened my eyes and threw my arms around him, sobbing in his chest.

"Oh Hak…" I cried.

Hak wrapped his arms around me, as he patted my head, and rubbed my back.

I continued to cry, but I soon stopped as I suddenly realized something.

I pulled myself from him and looked at my surroundings.

We were in my old room in the palace.

It was a little dark, and I can hear the thunder rumble as heavy rain poured outside.

"Where are the others? How did we end up here?" I asked him.

"What did you dream about?" he replied.

"What? Oh… It was just some nightmare… don't worry about it. Where are the others?" I asked him again.

He stood up, and stopped beside the window, staring outside.

I followed him, and stopped beside him, waiting for him to speak.

After a few moments, Hak moved and stood behind me.

And then I felt him wrap his arms around me.

I felt confused at his own actions.

"Hak?" I asked, as I touched his arms.

Hak buried his face in my hair, and I felt him inhaled deeply.

"What's wrong?" I asked again, concerned at his actions.

Then I felt him move and his face stopped beside mine.

"Everything is fine," he whispered into my ear.

"I don't understand what's going on," I replied, more confused than ever.

Suddenly, I felt my whole body become numb, and everything around me spun around, as my surroundings became black.

I woke up, feeling a hand gently caressing my face.

I opened my eyes, and my eyes widened in horror as I stared at the dark blond-haired man staring down at me, smiling gently.

"Soo-won!"

I quickly lifted my head, which was resting on his lap, and I sat up with my back turned to him.

I closed my eyes, trying to comprehend what's happening.

"What's wrong, love?" he asked, as he moved in front of me.

What?

"What did you just say?" I asked him, looking straight into his eyes.

"Are you feeling ill?" he asked, as he reached out to touch my hand.

I quickly removed my hand away and looked at my surroundings.

We were sitting under a tree, in the palace garden. The sky was now getting dark, as the sun slowly sets down over the horizon.

I stood up and began walking away.

My heart jumped as I felt him grab my arm and stopped me.

"Tell me what's wrong."

I closed my eyes and inhaled.

"Let go, Soo-won. I don't understand what's happening right now. How did I end up here? Where's Hak?" I asked.

"What are you saying, love? Hak was dead a long time ago…" he whispered.

I froze in his words.

What?

I turned around and faced him.

And then I slapped his face.

"Mother?" a little boy suddenly walked towards us.

"Why did you slap father?" the little boy asked, his lavender eyes staring up at me.

Mother?

Soo-won reached out his one hand and patted the little boy's head.

"Your mother was just feeling ill, that's all." He smiled down at the little boy.

The boy nodded his head and wrapped his arms around me.

"I hope you feel better soon, mother."

I reached my hand and gently patted his head.

I was still confused on what's happening, but there is no way I'm showing any form of unkindness in front of this child who called me mother.

He stared up at me and smiled.

I felt my heart warm up and I smiled back at him.

"We should go back now," Soo-won said as he took the boy's other hand.

The little boy reached out his other hand to mine.

Together we walked away with the setting sun behind us.

After a few minutes, we stopped at a room.

The little boy turned towards us.

"I'm going to retire now for the day. Good night, Father. Good night, Mother." He hugged us both.

After he stepped into the room, I turned to Soo-won.

"Let's talk in our room." He said and began walking away.

Why would I follow him? Can I even trust him? But my mind was so confused right now, and I have a lot of questions.

I followed him and stepped into a large bedroom.

He sat down on the bed and I sat down beside him.

"What did you dream about?" he asked, staring at me.

What?

It was the same question.

"Soo-won… I'm not playing any game with you. Just tell me what's happening," I replied, desperate.

"I don't know what to tell you, Yona… I don't understand you at all," he replied.

I closed my eyes, hoping that it was just some nightmare again.

But everything felt so real.

"Okay… first of all, I feel like this is just some random nightmare, but everything feels so real… tell me, who is that child? He called me mother... is he my son?" I replied, opening my eyes.

"What are you saying, love? Of course, he's our child."

I froze in his words and didn't reply.

I can't even imagine it.

After a while he stood up and walked outside, telling me to wait.

After a few minutes, he returned with a doctor.

The doctor bowed and approached me.

"Your majesty, his majesty told me you feel unwell. Please tell me what's happening so that I may help you," he asked, sitting down on a chair in front of me.

I looked straight into his eyes and didn't speak.

"Based from what his majesty told me, you seem to be having trouble with your memories. Tell me, while you took a nap outside, what did you dream about?"

I stared at him, now more confused than ever.

Everyone was asking me what I dreamt about.

I didn't answer again.

Then he turned his eyes to Soo-won, and they nodded at each other.

And then the doctor pulled something and approached me.

Before I knew it, I felt a prick on my arm and everything went black.

"Yona… Yona."

I felt a hand, gently tapping my shoulder.

As I opened my eyes, I stared in shock at the man before me.

"I brought you something to eat," he said, smiling.

"Father?" I asked, my voice hoarse, and my tears suddenly streamed down my face.

"What's wrong?" he asked as he hugged me and patted my head.

"Is this real?" I asked, closing my eyes.

I hope this is real.

I stared up at him, and he let out a small laugh.

"I can't believe you woke up so late. You must have felt so tired last night," he said.

I looked around me and realized it was already past noon.

Father stayed while I ate.

Even if it's just a dream… I was so happy. And I want to enjoy every moment.

We went outside and walked around the palace.

I enjoyed every moment and hoped that this dream doesn't end soon.

We watched the sunset together, sitting down under a tree.

"Father?" I stared up at him as I sat on his lap.

"Yes?"

"How old am I already?"

Father laughed at my question.

But I wanted to know whether this was real or not, because it really felt so real.

"Why, of course you were 16 already! I will never forget my only daughter's age."

I stared on the ground, thinking.

So I was already 16, and father wasn't murdered in this dream.

After a while, he spoke again.

"Tell me, Yona… what did you dream about?"

What?

I stared up at him, but he remained smiling at me.

Perhaps if I tell him this series of nightmare will end already.

"Father… I dreamt about scary things. I dreamt about a man in the dark room, about Hak, and Soo-won. But they all asked me the same question you just asked me…" I stared up at him again.

He kissed my head and patted my hair.

"Let's return to our rooms now." He said.

As soon as I lay down on my bed, I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up with many voices, speaking at once.

"Let her rest now, if you want her to get better quickly," Yoon sighed.

I opened my eyes, and I saw six people staring down at me.

"The young miss is awake!" Zeno clapped cheerfully.

I sat up and stared at all of them. They looked back at me, confused.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"I told you so! Let her rest. Now, get away from here," Yoon said once again.

"Get well soon, Yona," Jae-ha winked at me.

"Now, now, hurry up droopy eyes," Hak pulled him outside.

"Get well soon, master," Kija yelled, being dragged away by Zeno.

Shin-ah stared and nodded, then walked away.

"If you need anything, just call me. To answer your question, we are staying at Ik-Soo's place, remember?" he said as he walked outside and closed the door.

I sighed and began thinking about everything.

Now I'm sure I'm no longer dreaming. I'm back to reality.

I smiled and drifted off to sleep again.

After a while, I woke up.

I felt so sore for lying down for too long, so I decided to take a walk outside.

It was now past midnight, and everyone was sleeping peacefully.

I stretched out and sat down beside the waterfall.

"How are you?" a voice asked from behind.

"Ik-soo!" I replied, relieved.

He sat down beside me, and together we stared at the waters before us.

"Why are you out here too?" I asked.

"I had a terrible dream and I can't sleep anymore."

I laughed at the irony.

"I had a terrible dream earlier too," I replied.

With that he turned towards me.

"Tell me, Yona... What did you dream about?"
