Having gone through many unsafe and bizarre experiences at many of the jobs his parents sent him to, Iruma has acquired the habit of easily accepting anything that happens to him, and taking action to fix it rather than wasting time on despair. So, he runs in the direction of the comm station to contact Earth and ask for help, avoiding claws, fireballs, and other attacks on his way there.

Inside the comms room, Iruma sees someone he doesn't recognise, wearing a torn UAC uniform. Their arms and legs are covered in swollen lumps, and they seem to have lost all their hair. Instead of eyes, they have a large indentation in the center of their skull.

"Wh-what happened to you?" Iruma asks. The only response he receives is midway between a grunt and a scream, as the unknown figure stumbles toward him.

"Hold on, I'll get you a medpack."

After running to the medbay and returning, Iruma attempts to treat the worst of the swellings, but is unable to: the person in front of him attacks him every time he comes close.

"I-I'm sorry, I guess you don't want any. Is there anything else that can help?"

The response is just as incomprehensible as before.

"Well, I need to contact Earth and tell them about all this."

Iruma approaches the comm station, and sends a message to UAC headquarters in Palo Alto:

"Um, h-hello, I'm sorry to disturb you, it's just that, um,"

He dodges a swipe at his torso.

"Something went wrong with the teleportation, I think, and some aliens showed up? I think one of them wants to kill me for some reason. There's also someone else here, and they look sick or injured. Could you please send help? If it's not too much trouble?"

Iruma ends the message, and waits for a response.

Eight minutes later, he gets one:

"Your message has been added to the UAC's internal queue. Please wait for it to be processed, and a representative will be with you shortly."

And so he waits even longer, staying out of the way of the person in the room with him, and unsuccessfully trying to heal them.

Eventually, the door opens.

A towering figure wearing UAC-branded power armor enters the room, drags Iruma out, and snaps the neck of the boil-covered scientist. When that has no effect, the figure draws a pistol, and fires a single shot through the indentation in their forehead.

"Wh- why did you just-"

"Already dead. No pulse. Controlled corpse."

The marine takes up a position by the comm station, and sends a message to UAC headquarters:

"Phobos base lost. Alien threat present. One survivor. I'll get him out. Nuke it."
