Carvings of large monstrous creatures were shown on a wall as a loud footstep hits the ground with a thud.

Sparks continue floating in the air as another footstep thud hits the ground.

LEGENDARY

Then another heavier thud occurred as everything went black.

Then suddenly a thunderous ear-piercing roar fills the air

The air was darken by smoke as the HALO team in the air fell trailing red flares as the city was in flames.

"ANDREW!" Yelled a man's voice.

SAN FRANCISCO 2014

"No!" Cried a little girl's voice.

"Andrew!" A man with black hair, brown eyes named Mark Russell held a flashlight searching for his lost son.

Close by was his wife Emma with blonde hair, blue eyes and was holding their daughter Madison with brown hair and brown eyes.

"Andrew!" Mark yelled.

"No!" Madison cried.

Mark continues looking around desperately for his son.

"ANDREW!" Mark yelled.

Then suddenly the ground shook from a thud of a massive footstep as Mark turns and looked up. Emma as well turns looking at something.

"No!" Madison cried.

Parts of a building came down as well as a large foot as Godzilla stomps by. And Emma watches as Godzilla roars out.

"ANDREW!"

5 years later, now 2019, Emma sat sadly quietly in a room as it was early morning and looked over to a picture frame showing a family photo of them with Andrew sometime before the incident.

The loss of Andrew has been a huge toll.

"Thousands gathered in the Bay Area last night to honor the victims of the 2014 attacks. Part of a wave of memorials and protests demanding-"

"-that the secretive monster-hunting coalition known as Monarch be held accountable."

A couple hours later, Emma watches a News channel.

Then the TV showed a stranded pod of dolphin bodies on a beach.

"The recent spike in mass die-offs in the world's oceans could be caused by efforts to locate and track Godzilla, who hasn't been seen in over 5 years." Another news reporter said.

"Top brass at the mysterious Monarch organization will face another intense grilling as the government continues to push the extermination of the Titans." A 3rd reporter said.

Named after the Greek Titans of Mythology, the monstrous creatures that included Godzilla that has been recently named.

"And rumors persist that Monarch may be hiding even more creatures discovered since the attacks of 2014." The news reporter continued. "A historical tragedy that changed the world as we know it forever. The day the world discovered that monsters are real."

Emma then closed a case that had the Monarch logo on it.

In the living room, Madison now a young pre-teen was listening to some upbeat music through her AirPods. She was looking through her laptop through some E-mails and global news like on ruins of San Francisco and Vegas of Titan radiation being responsible of startling regrowth.

Another on NPR News on Risso's Dolphins of a new study, another on EcoNews Alert of climate change leading to a new extinction event and bees not finding a way to adapt to the warming climate.

Another showing some New Scientist information of homing in on the place on Earth where life started nearly 4 billion years ago. And lastly a National Geographic page saying will humans survive the 6th mass extinction yet to come.

Madison then clicks on an E-mail that was recently on her father saying that he hasn't heard from them in a few months. Sometime after San Francisco and losing Andrew, things haven't been easy since her parents were now divorced. And that he sent some photos of some wolves he's been studying.

Madison looks through the photos of the wolves and a photo of her with her father from a fishing trip. Madison lightly smiled and then types a message.

"Hey Dad,

Sorry I haven't written back. I miss you.
But there's something I want to talk to you about..."

Madison glanced over to her left for a moment and continues typing.

"I'm getting worried about Mom"

Then suddenly the smoke alarm went off beeping as Madison looked over and quickly took her AirPods off.

"Shit!" Madison cursed rushing over to the stove with burning bacon. "Shit, shit, shit!"

She quickly removes the lid off and grabs the burnt bacon with tongs placing them on a place.

"Oh..." Madison nervously said.

"Maddie?" Emma said walking in.

"Good morning!" Madison said grabbing the pan. "Good morning, Mom!"

"Oh, God!" Emma said seeing the flame on the stove.

She quickly turns off the stove off.

"Uh..." Madison placed the pan in the sink and turns it on as cold water pours on it.

"Okay." Emma said.

The alarm continues beeping as Emma grabs a hand towel and fans the smoke from the alarm.

"I made us breakfast." Madison said.

Emma reaches up and turns off the alarm.

"It's, uh... Eggs, toast, and what was once bacon." Madison said.

The toaster goes off as Emma grabs the 2 pieces of toast.

"And which do you recommend?" Emma inquired.

"The toast and eggs." Madison chuckled.

"Thank you." Emma said.

She then walks over to the table as Madison closed her laptop.

"Coffee?" Madison offered.

Madison then pours some coffee into her mother's mug.

"What were you working on?" Emma asked.

"Um, I was looking at recipes." Madison said as Emma took a sip of her coffee.

"For toast?" Emma questioned with a bit of a cracked voice.

Madison then turns to her. "Dad's been emailing me. But he looks good. Healthy." She then grabs a plate of toast.

"Have you responded?" Emma asked.

"Not yet." Madison said and ate a piece of fruit.

"Madison, I just don't want you to see you get hurt." Emma said.

"I know." Madison said.

"Especially with everything that's going on right now." Emma added.

"Mom, I know." Madison replied and took a sip of her own coffee.

"Listen, I know things haven't been easy for you." Emma said. "But we're gonna get through this. Together."

"You're sure he's gonna be okay?" Madison inquired.

"He is in the safest place that he could be right now." Emma reassured.

Madison turns to her.

"Wanna hear some good news?" Emma asked and placed her right hand on the case. "I finished it."

"Really?" Madison inquired.

Emma moves over to it.

"You think it's gonna work?" Madison asked.

"It's gonna work." Emma nodded.

Then suddenly the ground shook as a tremor began as the lights on the ceiling swung and flickered. And a picture frame fell over as a strange screeching-like scream was heard as Emma turns looking outside as the tremor ends.

Emma heads over to the window as well as Madison as they stood near it as a faint growl was heard.

"It's gonna be okay." Madison said.

"Dr. Russell, we need you in containment." A voice said through her walkie-talkie.

"I'm on my way." Emma responded.

Outside, birds chirped as they were in a house in a rainforest. And some distance away was a base and a large temple, possibly thousands of years old.

MONARCH OUTPOST 61

YUNNAN RAINFOREST, CHINA

"What the hell happened?"

Before long, Emma and Madison were heading down a hall in the temple with a man named Tim Mancini.

"No idea." He said. "She was sleeping like a baby until an hour ago, and then, boom. Her radiation levels went through the roof. Almost like something triggered it."

"Thanks, Tim." Emma said. "You know, I can take it from here. Why don't you get some rest?"

"No way." Tim denied. "Sleep or no sleep, I'm not missing this."

Madison then looked over as 2 members in suits were looking over a carving of a moth as 1 took a photo of it.

Madison then hurries over to catch up with her mother and Tim as they got to a lab as instinct chatter occurred from the other members.

"Containment team, move into primary position."

Ahead of Madison, a team heads onto a walkway surrounding a large object with a blue glow with vines around it.

And the object gave off a pulsating sound.

"Sedatives?" Emma questioned placing on a headset.

"No effect." Tim said. "This thing wants to be born."

The team around the object watched as it moves.

"Emergency protocol is in effect. 10 seconds to biocontainment."

"Her time has come." Emma said.

The pulsating then intensifies as then the object moves growing bigger as then growling was heard as the surface of the object rips open. And everyone worked in amazement as the object was revealed to be an egg as tread lines of silk covered the surface of a creature. Soon the creature turns revealing to be a large 50 foot caterpillar larva.

"Meet Titanus Mosura." Tim said. "Or as we like to call her..."

"Mothra." Madison smiled.

"Incredible." Emma said.

"Activating containment grid."

Then machinery powers up as a force field of energy surrounds Mothra. She looks down at the containment team as her vision showed them with an orange glow as their taser guns showed a crackle of electricity.

Then suddenly the grid sparks as the cavern then changes to red as the grid powers down.

They soon knew something was wrong.

"Warning."

"What's happening?" Emma asked turning to a member.

Mothra then roars as he hits the walkway as some of the members raised their guns.

"Warning."

The computer showed the containment grid failing completely.

"Something's really wrong here." Tim said. "Containment systems are failing. Perimeter alarms are going off, the whole network's going insane."

"What do you mean?" Emma asked. "How's is that possible?"

"Emma, I think someone else is doing this." Tim said.

Then suddenly Mothra bellows out as the entire cavern shook as the containment had their taser guns aiming at the giant larva.

"Containment team, stand down." Emma called their radios. "I-"

"-repeat, stand down." Emma said. "You are scaring her."

Mothra looks down at the containment team and made a loud trilling sound as 1 member raised his gun yelling. And then Mothra screeches as she slams one of her many legs on the platform causing him to fall back.

The member then fires as the blast hits the larva's underside as Mothra screeches in pain. She then looks down at them and roars and fires a blast of silk at a few members, and then again at a few more as 1 screamed. She then fired another silk attack at a man pinning him to the wall.

The other members of the team quickly ran off as Mothra lowers down hitting the walkway as a man tripped and fell. And Mothra grabs him with her mouth mandibles, and she lifts up as he screamed and threw him to a web with 2 other members.

In the lab, Tim lifts the lid of a red button.

Emma then saw him.

"No!" Emma yelled.

She then quickly stopped him.

"Dr. Russell, I'm sorry." Tim said. "But you know the protocols. We have to terminate!"

"I'll handle this!" Emma said.

Emma then grabs the case.

"Mom! No!" Madison said trying to stop her from her suicidal task.

"Madison, stay here." Emma said. "It's gonna work."

Emma then press her badge against a scanner and opens the door, and enters a chamber closing the door and turns to the other side.

"Stand Clear."

Emma was then sprayed as Mothra continues her rampage as she knocks down a statue. She then growls turning to Emma.

"It's okay." Emma said gently.

Emma slowly walked towards Mothra as she cautiously watched her. Mothra then hits the walkway causing Emma to stumble from the jolt. Emma continue heading down the walkway as Madison watched.

Mothra then lifts up as Emma slowly kneels down and opens the case revealing some kind of device that was originally design for a different purpose. She then turns it on as a screen lifts up as Mothra cautiously watched her.

Emma then scrolls through a list as she then brought to another screen on the device, as it started playing a pulsing sound as Emma turns to Mothra.

Mothra however fired a silk at her as Emma narrowly avoided it proving she wasn't pleased with it.

"Mom!" Madison yelled.

Emma quickly got back to the device and tries a different frequency as Mothra fired another silk blast narrowly missing her.

"Mom!" Madison yelled.

Then Madison quickly grabs Tim's badge and rushed to the chamber.

"Maddie, wait!" Tim said trying to stop her.

Madison quickly press the badge on the scanner, and got in the chamber.

"Maddie!" Time rushing to the door as Madison closed it.

"Get back in here!" Tim yelled.

Madison turns as she was then sprayed.

Emma looked back as Madison rushed towards her.

"Maddie! Go back!" Emma yelled.

"Mom! Let's go!" Madison yelled.

Emma determined, continues working on the device as Mothra roared.

"Mom!" Madison said getting to her mother's side.

Emma continues through the device, and tries a different frequency as it continues pulsing. And then Mothra angrily rears up high ready to strike, and Emma quickly scrolls through to a different frequency as then Mothra lowers down towards them.

Then the device's screen showed, "ALPHA FREQUENCY FOUND" and Emma quickly pushed a button as Mothra roars nearing them as they held on to each other.

But then, Mothra froze as the red glow changes back to a gentle blue as she warbles and backs away slightly.

Emma turns to Mothra as well as Madison as the larva looks down at them. Emma then turns to the device as it continues playing the alpha frequency and turns back to her.

"Son of a bitch." Tim said stunned. "It worked."

Everyone else in the lab were also amazed.

Emma and Madison got up as Madison reaches her right hand out as Mothra lowers down near her as Madison could almost touch her as Emma smiled. And then Mothra let out a strong exhale as Madison stumbled back a bit as Emma caught her as she chuckled.

Emma then looks back to the lab as Tim watched amazed.

Then suddenly an explosion occurred as they were thrown off their feet as Emma held on to Madison.

And then a team of men appeared and then fired their guns at the members. Emma held Madison as she turns to Mothra lifting up seeing the carnage.

The men continue shooting the other lab members leaving only Tim remaining as then appearing from the smoke was an elderly man in his early 70's white hair, blue eyes.

He nears Tim as he got up with his hands raised up.

The man then brought out a pistol, and then shoots him as part of the glass broke and shattered as Madison screamed as Emma held her protectively.

The man stared at them as Madison whimpered.

"Mom?" Madison said nervously.

The man then glanced up at Mothra as she warbles and the device continues playing the pulsing sound.

I do apologize for how this story came out and it's delay.

It was my brother's congratulation that day, we then went to a party and it was really late by the time we got home.

I did saw a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird flashed by.

A few days later, we went on a beach trip in Kure Beach with some friends where I managed to finish Kong: Wild Skull Island. We went on the beach, did some fishing on the pier, there was even a sea turtle nest right by the walkway to the beach. I think it's that of a Loggerhead Sea Turtle, but I'm not sure how long it's been there. We also saw some Black-tip Shark pups.

Anyway, it's easy to know why Mothra's outpost was given 61. Since she made her first appearance in 1961.

And Mothra was the biggest challenge because probably for the back and forth in terms of design of getting it right. And also how she was worshiped as a Goddess in earlier films.

Mothra was a challenge for being basically a giant moth in earlier films. And the brought some elements of bioluminescence which is something that is found in nature, and seemed like the perfect fit. Like different colors and brightness to communicate her emotions.

And Director Micheal Dougherty felt that Mothra shouldn't just be a moth, and that she should embody the traits of lots of different insects. Like Praying Mantis which could explain the leg design of her. And in a world filled with other giant monsters, which is why they gave her a stinger.

The Yunnan Temple was built in a way to honor her.
