As promised, here is the thirteenth part of the third installment in my 'Heart' series, a little early as I won't have time to do it on the usual day so early is better than late. The only real thing to address here is that the 5th Supplement is set to come out between this Part and the next one so it will be up sometime early next week with another, longer, Supplement set to come out between Parts XXVI and XXVII so there is a lot coming this week to look forward to. Unfortunately, next week will also the last time for a while that will have 2 Parts uploaded in one week, after that the real world will be returning and I will return to weekly uploads. That is all for the administrative stuff but there were a few questions from the last Part in the reviews that will be answered now.

Will Psyduck be used in Ash's battle with Misty? For this all I will say is enjoy this Part as this is that battle so you will have to wait and see if Psyduck makes an appearance or not.

Will Mamoswine learn Sleep Talk to counter Pokemon that can put him to sleep? No he won't. I had to do research just to confirm that Mamoswine could learn it at all and turns out he can. However I never intended to have him learn the move. There is one move that for specific reasons Mamoswine will learn but all in good time for that.

Anyway, that is all for this shorter than usual pre Part note, anything else will be addressed at the end of the Part. For now sit back and enjoy the latest installment in Dreams Come From the Heart. Part XXV: Getting Wet and Wild.

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon.

Part XXV: Getting Wet and Wild

It was the next day and Ash was standing in the challenger's box of the Cerulean Gym waiting for Misty to come out of the changing room and being their battle. The gym looked just like it had back when Dawn had challenged it though there were a few larger floats in pool and no weighted structures this time. Misty clearly wanted to change it up at least in part for their match to ensure that Ash had to think on the fly against her.

Dawn was in the stands in her usual pink, white and blue cheerleader outfit and pom poms ready to begin cheering for Ash louder than ever before because it was against Misty. She had spent part of their time on the way to Cerulean preparing the routine with her Pokémon so that they were all ready to cheer their hearts out for Ash.

As always all of her Pokémon except Mamoswine were by her side in the stands. They were all dressed up in either male or female versions of Dawn's own outfit depending on the Pokémon's gender or personality if Dawn wasn't sure on their gender. Dawn had deliberately placed Pinsir closest to Misty so that she could enjoy the bug Pokémon as close to her as possible and Pinsir was looking great in her outfit.

The exceptions of Oddish who was too small an outfit and instead just had a pom pom attached to her head leaves and Eevee who had the pom pom in her mouth though she was wearing a miniature cheerleading outfit. They were both as enthusiastic about cheering with Dawn as the others, their bodies just limited how they could do it.

The only other person in the gym was the referee for the match, a woman this time and one of the handful of students who studied under Misty. She was on her plinth at the midpoint opposite the stands as they all waited for Misty to come out from the changing room. Apparently Misty had decided on a new outfit just for this battle and was going to surprise them with it. Dawn didn't trust the gym leader for a second but she knew she would have to deal with it.

As they were waiting Dawn remembered what had happened after the Contest the day before. She had had a nice chat with the new coordinator who Dawn had beaten in the final, a girl called Emily, about her future and wished the younger girl luck on the circuit. Dawn knew that they would meet again in Saffron City for the Contest there and she was looking forward to seeing how the girl had grown. Dawn felt that Emily had potential and was looking forward to seeing her progress over the course of the season.

While this had been happening Ash and Misty had had their own chat and Misty had asked him if she could meet his Palpitoad and if possible borrow him. Ash had agreed that they could at least meet after their match as Ash was already planning on using Palpitoad against Lt. Surge, the electric type gym leader in Vermilion City where they were heading next, so he needed the Vibration Pokémon in his rotation as soon as he was done here.

Ash had changed his team after his win in Pewter and intended to keep the trend up after each full battle. This way Misty could meet Palpitoad personally and if they got on well Ash would let her train him and use him in gym battles while he and Dawn traveled between Vermilion City and Cinnabar Island when Ash intended to use Palpitoad again against Blaine, once Blaine accepted his challenge.

With that set the rest of the day had been relaxing and uneventful for them once Dawn had returned to Misty's. All they did was chill, eat and hang out before the big day today. An early night later, that again Dawn and Ash couldn't share a room though this time it was a Seal that prevented them from sneaking to the other's room and not a Politoed, they were ready for today.

Dawn for one couldn't wait to see Ash beat Misty, hopefully convincingly. The battle alone would be epic because of how well they knew each other and their respective styles but for Dawn it was more the enjoyment of watching Misty lose to Ash that gave her joy. She was really looking forward to seeing Ash's tactics against his oldest friend.

Dawn knew that it was going to be interesting for sure. However, the interesting part started earlier than expected, it started the moment Misty finally entered and her jaw dropped at the outfit Misty had opted to wear.

While the redhead had kept her usual odd hair style, she had changed her clothes for the match into something that Dawn hadn't expected. Given the water battlefield and the nature of the combatants, the fact that Misty was wearing what could be technically called a swimsuit was appropriate attire. The suit itself was not.

Misty had opted for a bright blue, almost glowing that's how bright it was, bikini and that was it. That alone would have been just about acceptable as Dawn herself owned plenty of bikinis and liked to mix it up every time she had the chance to swim. However Misty's bikini was a shade too small to be something one would be allowed to wear at the beach.

The bottoms basically covered enough to be modest while showing off Misty's long, toned legs that Dawn couldn't help but be envious of. They had only see the front but Dawn was certain that Misty's ass, which Dawn begrudgingly had to admit was pretty impressive though she only knew that because Misty liked to shake it at her whenever she got the opportunity, was clearly visible. Hopefully Ash didn't get a look at it though Dawn knew that her boyfriend was to noble to stare at his friend's ass.

Dawn had to squint to see where Misty had stored her Poke Ball but she actually had them on her, they the string sides of the bottoms. There were 3 Poke Balls each showing where she had decided to keep her Pokémon for the battle. Dawn was certain that it was a miracle that they were still on but she didn't say anything, just hopped that bottoms were sturdier than they looked. Then there was the top.

Misty couldn't really brag about her breasts even in a bikini. Dawn could tell that they were smaller, but perkier, than her own modest bust and nothing compared to May's assets but they were still there and Misty was showing no shame in drawing attention to them. Her top was a triangle string top that basically covered her nipples and a little bit around them and that was about it. There was more boob than fabric on display, Dawn was sure of it.

The whole outfit was such that even Ash was speechless, his jaw open as he gaped at Misty's attire, Pikachu doing the same next to him. The ref was also a little uncomfortable with her gym leader's outfit but had to just deal with it, though it did explain why Misty had insisted on a female ref. This was going to be an eventful battle for sure.

Misty, however, was smirking as she took her spot in the gym leader's box knowing that she had made the impression she had intended to make. Dawn had not seen this coming and once again Misty had won a round in their perpetual war of pettiness and banter against each other.

"What's the matter Ash." Misty said with a playful wink. "You like my new bathing suit? I got it the other day just for this match. I figured there's a high chance I might get wet while facing you so I decided to wear it."

"Er, well, yeah." Ash stammered going red and Dawn was about to get really angry at Misty's blatant inuendo when Ash decided to be his usually oblivious self again. "It's just always weird seeing you look like a girl. It always stuns me."

Dawn's anger vanished in a second as she burst out laughing at Ash's unintended dis. Misty collapsed in frustration before getting up, a vein ticking in her forehead at Ash's oblivious attitude that was both infuriating and endearing. Dawn was still laughing though. Ash had just inadvertently destroyed Misty without even knowing it and Dawn was loving it, as well as loving her boyfriend even more.

"I see you're ready for this." Misty said turning and glaring at Dawn who had finally stopped laughing. "Gotta admit, that outfit does look cute on you. That said I never thought I would see a Pinsir look like that."

"Pinsir loves her cheerleading outfit." Dawn said back. "And unlike you, she actually looks good when dressed like a girl, not that excuse of a bathing suit."

"Well Misty does look good in it." Ash said coming to his friends defense and stepping in it again as Dawn glared at her boyfriend though he clearly didn't know why he was in trouble while Misty laughed this time. "I'm just not used to remembering how feminine she can be that's all."

"See Dawn, I am a world class beauty after all." Misty said with a smirk ignoring Ash's accidental jibe. "Ash's seal of approval is enough for me."

"Alright if that's how you want to play it then two can play your game." Dawn snapped throwing down her pom poms and glaring at Misty, a glare the gym leader matched. "If you want to show off to my boyfriend then I may as well join you to remind you who he actually belongs to. I was saving this reveal for later, when I could be alone with Ash again and properly congratulate him on beating you, but now works as well. I know you Misty; you'll get a kick out of it too."

With that Dawn put her now free hands at the hem of her shirt and in one smooth move she ripped it off and threw it behind her while trying to fight down the flush she was feeling. Underneath Dawn had gone with a black lacy bra that she knew Ash would love on her. It was little more than lingerie and not at all practical but she had bought and worn it for Ash. Now it would serve another purpose as well, to piss Misty off.

As she did that, Dawn did not notice Piplup slowly but surely inched away from her knowing exactly what was going on. He was not going to get in the way of his trainer waring with this particular female again, he still had nightmares about that Gyarados. Piplup would rather take another Draco Meteor from Gabite then get between Dawn and a rival again.

Back on the battlefield it was Misty's turn to drop her draw while Ash just gazed at Dawn in amazement with love in his eyes. It wasn't like he hadn't seen Dawn in all her glory but somehow the tantalizing bra made her even more sexy to him. Hopefully he would get to see it again when all of this was done.

Misty noticed Ash's appreciation, closed her jaw and growled at Dawn as Dawn picked up her pom poms and set herself again with a grin at Misty knowing that she had evened the score. If Misty was going to try and distract Ash by looking like a hussy then Dawn had to counter it and remind Misty that Ash only had eyes for her. She wasn't exactly comfortable in her current state but something about Misty always got under Dawn's skin and brought out this side of her.

"Um, can we, er, start." The now highly embarrassed ref said, at least it was a female this time. "This is a battle after all ladies."

"Yes please." Ash said grateful. "I came here for a battle Misty not deal with this. It's time to win."

"I won't be that easy on you Ash, no matter how good looking you are." Misty said with another wink at Ash and then one at Dawn that caused the latter to growl at her. "Nor will you lady's presence help you. Let's get this started then. I have been waiting for this ever since you issued your challenge after your birthday."

"Alright the rules are simple." The ref said as things began to get back to normal, or at least as normal as it could be when her boss was for some reason in a jealousy contest with the woman in the stands. "This will be a full 6 on 6 match between the challenger Ash of Pallet Town and the Cerulean City Gym Leader Misty. As Ash has already won the Cascade Badge this will not be an official gym battle under the gym's official rules. As such both trainers are free to substitute at will. The winner will be the trainer who defeats all 6 of the other trainer's Pokémon. Is that clear?"

"Yes." Both Ash and Misty said with a nod as they both got their game faces on and pulled out their first Poke Balls.

"Good then on my command." The ref said raising her flags and then dropping them with a flourish. "Begin!"

"Staryu, I choose you!" Misty yelled throwing out her faithful Pokémon but Ash had held off for a second. "This will be like old times."

"Truer than you expect, it's time for the return of an old friend Misty." Ash said with a grin as he hurled his own Poke Ball. "Pidgeot, I choose you!"

Pidgeot cawed as he materialized and flew in a graceful arc around the whole battlefield, glad to be in a battle for Ash. He came to a rest in front of Ash and flapped his wings slowly and steadily to maintain flight. It was time to show Ash just how strong he had become.

Pidgeot looked across at his opponent and cawed again recognizing the Staryu as an old friend from back in the day, as well as its trainer. He would always recognize that redhead girl as she was constantly in heat for Ash back then. In fact she still was in heat for him, as was the other trainer in the stands that was currently traveling with Ash but Pidgeot didn't care. This was his first battle in a while and he had to make his old friend proud.

"Is, is that who I think it is?" Misty asked incredulous her eyes wide at the sight. "How?"

"Yup we ran into Pidgeot on the way here." Ash said with a smile. "After a little argument, one that I deserved the brunt of, Pidgeot let me catch it again so long as I beat it. After that I promised it that I would use it for this battle and more to come."

"I can tell." Misty said as she smiled back at Ash and one of his earliest catches back when they first met. "I am looking forward to this. As the challenger I will give you the first move, you'll need it."

"Peck!" Ash ordered as soon as Misty had said he could go pointing to the Staryu for emphasis. "Start off strong my friend."

"Dodge and use Swift!" Misty ordered to counter the attack.

Staryu leapt into the air and Pidgeot closed in and flew under the genderless water type. Instantly Staryu sent out a series of yellow stars right at Pidgeot to capitalize on the maneuver. Neither had a type advantage, this was a battle of pure skill.

"Pidgeot show Misty just how fast you are now." Ash yelled. "Quick, dodge it and hit Staryu with Wing Attack!"

Pidgeot instantly spun and swooped away from the stars with the elegance of a flying type before it changed direction faster than Misty expected. His wings glowed white and he slammed into the side of Staryu at full speed. The Pokémon wailed in pain as it was sent upwards from the attack.

"Now get above it and hit it with Twister!" Ash ordered knowing he had the upper hand.

Pidgeot cawed again and putting on a burst of impressive speed got above the other Pokémon. Then he turned on a dime that look impossible due to his size and flapped his wings together creating the twister of dragon type power. As soon as it was ready he launched it at his old friend.

Staryu didn't have a chance and couldn't dodge despite Misty's yell due to the earlier attack stunning it. The second attack slammed into it and sent it back to the battlefield. Rather than hit the water, the Star Shape Pokémon hit the pool float it had started on with a thud and stuck there unmoving. It was on its back so all could see that the light in its center no longer glowing while Pidgeot flew back to his starting position cawing in victory.

"Staryu is unable to battle." The ref said raising a flag. "Pidgeot is the winner."

"Staryu return." Misty said with a sigh before looking at the ball. "You did great as always my beauty, Pidgeot has just gotten better than last time we saw it."

"Let's go Ash, you the best, keep beating Misty!" Dawn yelled shaking her pom poms and dancing so that she showed off to Misty while her Pokémon mirrored her moves as best they could. "You can do it, wipe the floor with her."

"Pidgeot return." Ash said recalling his Pokémon. "You did great but you should rest, that was a lot of intense speed flying and I will need you later."

"Good call Ash, you won't be as lucky this time." Misty said as she threw her second Poke Ball. "Starmie, I choose you!"

"Noctowl, I choose you!" Ash said throwing out his own ball as the familiar Starmie materialized on the float in front of Misty.

Noctowl burst from its Poke Ball with a few sparkling stars as always. Ash had wondered about that phenomenon that only his Noctowl seemed to have when it came out of its ball but when he had seen Dawn's Eevee do the same he realized it was because they were shiny variants, though he still didn't know why. It had certainly made Dawn happy as it added to Eevee's Contest appeal so she was giddy with the chance to use Eevee in a Contest at some point in the near future.

"Let's keep this up, Noctowl use Sky Attack!" Ash called refocusing on the battle and Noctowl soared up, flipped and then sped at Starmie at his command. "We don't need to worry about the water if we control the air."

"Not this time Ash." Misty said with a knowing smirk. "I've done some special training with Starmie since I accepted your challenge just in case you tried to use flying types. Starmie, dodge with Rapid Spin!"

Starmie obeyed as it spun forward and at the last minute dipped under Noctowl's attack and spun up and above it before stopping once it was clear and Noctowl well past it. It was as it reached the apex of its upward arc that Misty revealed her secret weapon that only her Starmie could use.

"Now use Thunderbolt!" Misty ordered. "Didn't expect that now did you Ash."

"What!" Ash said shocked as he called out in desperation. "Noctowl…"

However there wasn't time to get an order off. The super effective attack had been aimed perfectly and hit Noctowl clean in the back. It let out a yell of pain before being shot forward to crash into the ground next to Misty, missing the water entirely. Noctowl then skidded until he rested against the wall, swirls for eyes. It had been quick and efficient, though Ash knew that it would only work once against him.

"Noctowl is unable to battle." The ref said raising a flag. "The winner is Starmie."

"Noctowl return." Ash said recalling his feinted Pokémon. "You were amazing my friend; it was my fault there not yours. Misty isn't a gym leader for nothing after all. Teaching a water type Pokémon an electric move shows just how good she is."

"Thank you Ash, it means a lot coming from you." Misty said with a slight blush on her cheeks while Dawn just glared at her despite agreeing with Ash's praise. "Only Staryu and Starmie can learn it so I taught the later for obvious reasons."

"Impressive but you won't fool me again." Ash said as Starmie returned to the float and Ash pulled out his third Poke Ball. "I have just the Pokémon for you to meet now."

"We will see, you good to continue Starmie." Misty said and the Mysterious Pokémon gave its version of a nod by bending its top spikes forward. "Alright good. Come on Ash, I can handle whatever you have for me."

"We shall see about that." Ash said with a smirk as he threw the Poke Ball. "Leavanny, I choose you!"

"Leavanny." Leavanny sang as he appeared on the float, balancing perfectly on it despite the water and his spindly legs. "Leavanny."

"Oh yeah that's right you da man Leavanny." Dawn called out as Misty suddenly went stiff at the sight of the unfamiliar and almost certainly Unova bug type Pokémon. "Show Misty how great bug types are. She loves you almost as much as she loves her own water types."

"B, b, b, b, b bug!" Misty yelled as she was paralyzed with fear at the sight of the bug.

"Yup Leavanny is from Unova and really useful against you." Ash said with a smirk. "I know you Misty, I had to have a bug type in my rotation when I faced you. Remember that part of a battle is knowing your opponent as well as her Pokémon so as to get an advantage and this is one I have on you."

"Go Ash show her why you're the best." Dawn cheered while Misty still trembled in fear. "Use her fear against her."

"Leavanny use Energy Ball!" Ash ordered before Misty fully recovered.

"Leavanny." Leavanny said as he formed the energy ball.

Starmie looked back at its trainer worried as she hadn't given it a command and sighed at the sight, at least as best as it could without a mouth. It needed an order to dodge or counter the attack or else it would be hit and it was at a serious disadvantage to the other Pokémon.

The problem was that Misty was still paralyzed with fear at the new bug type Pokémon. Sure it wasn't as ugly as some like Dawn's Pinsir who happened to have neared her than Misty would have like but it was still a bug type so gross and scary to her. Misty's fear had been activated and all Starmie could do was brace for impact, it was too well trained to disobey its trainer and friend and hope that one day Misty overcame this odd fear.

The ball of grass type energy slammed into Starmie right in the center of its red crystal. It was already a super effective attack against a water type like Starmie making it hard to recover from but it was made worse by the fact that it was a critical hit.

Starmie had no hope after that as it was basted back and right into Misty's face. Misty was floored by her own Pokémon, landing hard on her back as the red light went out to show that Starmie was unconscious. The one good thing was that the attack had snapped Misty out of her fear of Leavanny. Ash had used her own fear against her, the way any trainer should if they knew, and she had lost another Pokémon because of it. That wouldn't happen again.

"Starmie is unable to battle." The ref said once again raising the appropriate flag. "The winner is Leavanny."

"That's right you go Leavanny." Dawn said jumping up and doing her routine and ignoring the slight jiggle that her lack of a shirt caused. "Show Misty what bug types are made of and why she is right to fear you. Keep it up Ash, you got this! Win baby win!"

"Starmie return." Misty said recalling her Pokémon from her face before slowly standing and adjusting herself to make sure that she was alright, if a little bruised. "You did great, it was my own fear of bug types that caused this and you didn't disobey me, I'm proud of you. I won't let that happen again I promise. We will take this bug down."

"Leavanny, you good?" Ash asked his Pokémon who hadn't moved at all.

"Leavanny." Leavanny sang with a nod as he faced Misty waiting for the next Pokémon she would send out. "Leavanny."

"Good then stay in there." Ash said with a grin, he was really getting into the battle. "Alright Misty, send out your next Pokémon. I'm ready for anything you go."

"A bug and possibly grass type puts me at a significant disadvantage but noting I can't handle." Misty said as she pulled off another Poke Ball from her bottoms. "Corsola, I choose you!"

Misty threw the ball and the pink and white Coral Pokémon appeared on the float before her. Ash smirked. He had hoped that Misty would chose this Pokémon. While he had hoped to use Pokémon with a type disadvantage in this battle, he was going to show Misty the error of her ways in choosing a water and rock type to fight a grass and bug type like Leavanny.

"Leavanny, Razor Leaf!" Ash ordered starting the next battle.

"Corsola into the water and dodge it." Misty countered and Corsola dove into the water and got away from the attack, the Razor Leaf hitting the float harmlessly though leaving a clear gash in it.

"Leavanny brace yourself." Ash ordered as he knew that Corsola was swimming towards them as fast as possible. "As soon as it attacks I want you to counter with X-Scissor!"

"Corsola, show Ash what we can do." Misty yelled thrusting her arm out. "Use Tackle!"

"Corsola!" Corsola yelled as it burst out of the water right in front of Leavanny.

The angle was too low for the lanky Leavanny to attack effectively, and Corsola too small anyway so Leavanny had to take the blow to the gut. Still the fully evolved Pokémon was no slouch and he trusted Ash implicitly so he took a step back and as soon as Corsola leapt back to retreat from the attack he struck.

The powerful bug type move slammed into Corsola and sent it flying with a yell. It was only a regular damage attack as bug type moves were not an advantage or disadvantage against water or rock types but Ash followed it up with a grass type attack that he knew would work.

"Now hit Corsola with Razor Leaf!" Ash yelled and Leavanny obeyed.

Before Misty could react, the super effective attack slammed into the still airborne Corsola and did 4x damage to the poor Pokémon. Misty knew that the Pokémon was almost done for but she had one last trick left in her arsenal that should work. Misty knew what Ash would do; she knew him too well. All she needed was for Corsola to have enough fight left in it to pull this off

"Go after it and finish it with another X-Scissor!" Ash ordered.

Leavanny obeyed and gracefully leapt from her float at full speed at Corsola. It would be close but Ash was certain that he would hit before Corsola hit the water. Misty grimaced but she wasn't going to go down without one last gift for Ash to deal with.

"Corsola use the last of your strength and use Toxic!" Misty yelled just as Leavanny reached the Coral Pokémon.

The Nurturing Pokémon was too close to have a chance to abort the attack and Misty knew it. As Corsola's spikes became purple with the poison type attack, Leavanny's attack his home right on the poisoned spikes. Misty knew the gamble had paid off; it was a worthwhile sacrifice to take out Leavanny.

Corsola was blasted forward one last time and ejected from the area of the water battlefield. Misty had to go down on one knee so that Corsola flew over her head and slammed into the wall, sticking upside down on its spikes that were now imbedded in the wall. Misty looked and confirmed that Corsola had swirls for eyes.

"Leavanny!" Leavanny yelled in pain as he landed on the float in front of Moisty and fell to a knee, a purple blemish appearing under his eyes indicating that he was poisoned.

"Corsola is unable to battle, the winner is Leavanny." The ref said as Misty got to her feet and returned her Pokémon, ignoring the holes in the wall as they would be easy to patch up.

"You did great Corsola." Misty said proudly to the Poke Ball. "I knew you were extremely disadvantaged against a Pokémon like Leavanny but you made sure that Ash has to recall it from the fight. That Toxic helped us a lot."

"Leavanny return." Ash said knowing that Misty was right, he had seen her plan at the end when it was too late and he couldn't ask Leavanny to fight anymore while he was poisoned. "Take a good long rest, you may still be able to fight but you will only return if absolutely necessary. We will get you fixed up when this is over."

"That's it keep it up Ash!" Dawn cheered as she shook her pom poms for her boyfriend. "Your sacrifice will be worth it Leavanny, I know it."

"3-1 Misty, getting a little uncomfortable don't you think." Ash said with a smirk. "Leavanny may be poisoned but he's not out, you've only taken down Noctowl so far."

"Hardly." Misty replied as she pulled out her fourth Poke Ball. "I still have my 3 of my best Pokémon left."

"And I have 4 strong ones." Ash countered as he too pulled out a Poke Ball. "So let's continue this. Pidgeot, you're up again!"

"Politoed, I choose you!" Misty said throwing out her own Poke Ball and instantly attacking. "Water Gun!"

"Dodge it Pidgeot." Ash countered and Pidgeot did just that avoiding the jet of water that Politoed had blasted from its mouth.

However the attack had just been a distraction so that Politoed could leap into the water and avoid any speed-based attack Ash might launch. With both Pokémon in their dominant plains it was going to be interesting. However Ash had a plan for this. He remembered how Dawn had countered Misty's Staryu in a similar situation and Ash hoped that this would work though it wouldn't be as efficient as Dawn's method had been.

"Pidgeot, use Twister and hit the water with it." Ash ordered. "Displace it and force Politoed out."

Pidgeot cawed and turned to face the water but couldn't see the water type. It was infuriating that the other Pokémon was being a coward and hiding from him but the attack should displace enough water to cause Politoed to get out and face Pidgeot. Flapping his wing, Pidgeot beat them in a rhythm and created the powerful dragon type attack and aimed it right at the water.

The move hit the water at full speed and displaced it in all directions. It wasn't like the wave that had been created when Gyarados had hit it but it was still enough to cause problem and splash out a fair amount of water out of the pool. However it didn't have the desired effect and Misty chose that moment to strike as she had intended all along, minus the Twister attack at the water.

"Now Politoed, use Headbutt!" Misty yelled and the Frog Pokémon shot out of the water off to Pidgeot's side and away from the epicenter of the attack.

The Bird Pokémon had no chance to dodge the attack as Politoed had used the water to increase its speed before it attacked. The Frog Pokémon slammed head first into Pidgeot's side and sent it reeling, still in contact with the flying type. Misty knew that she had the win so long as she kept the pressure up.

"Finish it with Mega Punch!" Misty ordered.

Before Ash could react, Politoed cocked it's fist back and slammed the attack into Pidgeot's side, right where its head had been a moment earlier. The attack was the last straw for Pidgeot as it sent the flying type Pokémon down to hard. Pidgeot slammed into the float in front of Ash hard enough to move the heavy float slightly towards Ash. Pidgeot didn't get up, he just lay there with swirls for eyes showing that he was out of the fight.

"Pidgeot is unable to battle." The ref said raising the correct flag. "The winner is Politoed."

"Pidgeot return." Ash said calling back one of his oldest Pokémon friends with a smile while Politoed floated in the water having returned to the water as soon as Pidgeot was hit the second time. "You did great for your first official battle in years. There will be many more to come, I promise you that. Together we will win it all just as we set out to do."

"You good Politoed?" Misty asked and Politoed croaked and nodded in response to its trainer's question. "Good then let's even this match up quick."

"Don't speak so soon Misty." Ash said as he pulled out his next Poke Ball. "I think it's time to finally fully utilize the pool. Buizel, I choose you!"

Ash threw the Poke Ball out and the Sea Weasel Pokémon materialized on the float before Ash, his arms crossed and a confident look on his face ready for battle. Misty had to stop herself fawning over the clearly powerful and well-trained water type Pokémon from Sinnoh. Ash really knew how to catch them. When this was over she was totally swimming with this Buizel once it was healed up.

"That is an impressive Pokémon." Misty gushed, her love for water types, and if she was being honest Ash as well, getting to her. "I was waiting for the water type I knew you would use against mee and here it is. You always knew how to find good Pokémon. Did you use my lure on it?"

"I used your lure when I tried to catch him but in the end I wasn't the one to catch Buizel." Ash said causing Misty to blink in confusion. "I traded for him."

"What?" Misty said her confusion growing. "You traded for a Pokémon? You never trade. Who the hell did you trade away and with whom? Who could be that important to get Ash Ketchum to trade one of his Pokémon?"

"Oh yeah go Buizel you da man, show Misty up for your old trainer." Dawn yelled causing Misty to turn her stunned gaze on Dawn as a vein ticked in her temple, of course it just had to be Dawn who Ash traded with. "Yeah that's right Misty, I was Buizel original trainer. He was so powerful when we met him that I just had to catch him but alas he was not into Contests but rather traditional battles. He prefers strength to grace. A close friend suggested it and it was a tough decision but the right one in the end."

"Dawn's right." Ash confirmed with a nod. "The Aipom I caught during my time challenging the Battle Frontier here had decided to me to Sinnoh and while there she fell in love with Contests. After realizing that our Pokémon preferred what the other trainer competed in Zoey suggested we trade them. After some soul searching and beating Team Rocket with them we did just that. It was a great choice and we don't regret it at all."

"You traded with Dawn." Misty growled and Dawn beamed at the annoyance in her rival. "Of all people to get you to trade a Pokémon it had to be her."

"Yup goes to show just how special I am." Dawn taunted Misty from the stands. "I am the only person Ash has ever traded with, at least permanently as Brock once told me about all about Ash's Butterfree."

"Well then let's see how good this Buizel is then." Misty said through gritted teeth before turning back to the battle. "Politoed dive underwater. If Ash is going to use a water type then that is where we will fight."

"Buizel follow it." Ash ordered as Politoed beneath the surface of the pool. "Show Misty who the better swimmer is."

"Bui, Bui." Buizel said with a smile as he leapt into the water ready for the thrill of battle.

"Politoed, use Double Slap!" Misty yelled following the green Pokémon with her eyes.

"Buizel dive beneath it to dodge." Ash ordered using Buizel's orange fur to keep track of it. "And counter with Sonic Boom as soon as it is over you."

It would come down to swimming skills to see which Pokémon won this battle. Fortunately both were colorful enough to see from above so long as there wasn't a float in the way. It was going to be an interesting battle.

They watched as Politoed swam at Buizel its hands glowing but at the last minute Buizel showed his agility and the way he could use his forked tail underwater by twisting his body to get underneath Politoed. Then he slashed it upwards at Politoed's belly. The force of the attack could be seen as the normal type attack cut through the water by displacing it and hit Politoed squarely in the chest.

They couldn't hear the Pokémon from underwater but it was clear the attack had been effective. That was shown when Politoed sailed out of the water and into the air spraying water everywhere. Ash knew he had to act now if he was going to win this fight.

"Buizel follow it up with an Aqua Jet, hit the same spot." Ash ordered. "You can do it!"

"Politoed, dodge." Misty yelled but it was in vain, her Pokémon didn't have the space to move while in the air and winded from the last attack.

Buizel shot out of the water encased in a jet of water and hit Politoed in the chest again. The force of the second blow combined with the already upward trajectory of Politoed caused the Frog Pokémon to shoot upwards even faster than before, until it met resistance in the shape of a reinforced glass ceiling. Because of the reinforcements added after Dawn decided to throw a Gyarados into it, it did even shake when Politoed hit it.

"Let Politoed fall past you." Ash said as Politoed fell limp and down to the water as Buizel ended his Aqua Jet but was still soaring upwards. "And then assist its fall with another Sonic Boom."

"Politoed use Water Gun!" Misty yelled hoping that it would work as thee Pokémon passed each other in the air.

Alas it didn't. While Politoed did hear the order and turned and fired off the attack, it was too weak to do much more than send out a light squirt of water. Buizel was fresh and uninjured, it was no match at this point. Buizel slashed his tail and the attack boomed down at Politoed, the sound effectively signaling the end of the battle.

The Sonic Boom cut through the Water Gun with ease before it slammed into Politoed from forehead to crotch. The Pokémon didn't make a sound, it was likely knocked out in that instant, as the force of the blow sent it hurtling back to the water.

Politoed hit the water with a loud splash and sank beneath the surface while Buizel just flipped in the air as he dove down and into the water with ease and grace. Buizel swam over to his float and leapt out to turn and face Misty with a look of triumph on his face. As he did, Politoed floated to the surface on its back, its eyes swirls and clearly out cold.

"Politoed is unable to battle." The ref said raising a flag. "The winner is Buizel."

"Alright way to go Buizel show that water chick what a real water Pokémon can do." Dawn said cheering with her Pokémon joining in while Misty returned her fully evolved Pokémon and just ignored Dawn. "Almost there Ash, only 2 left to beat. You can do it baby!"

"You did great Politoed, I couldn't have asked for more from you." Misty said as she put the ball away and pulled out her 5th Pokémon. "That Buizel is certainly something else and I know it is purely from Ash's training. I have got to travel to Sinnoh and get some more water types, that region seems to have some good ones. Alright Ash, let's keep this water battle going. I'm not done yet."

"Neither am I." Ash said with a grin. "Buizel, you good to continue?"

"Bui, bui." Buizel said as he taunted Misty by extending a paw to her and giving the come-on gesture to her. "Bui, bui."

Misty smiled, she could respect this powerful water type, and cocked her arm back to send out her next Pokémon. This was one that Ash would be surprised at as he didn't know it had evolved since he had last seen it in action. However, as Misty was about to send out her Seadra everything went horribly wrong and in hindsight Misty really should have seen it coming.

She kept her spare Pokémon by the water on a shelf specially designed for Poke Balls. It was so that she could always see them when in a battle just in case Team Rocket tried to steal them or to switch them out while training with them. It was a simple and effective system that worked well for her.

Usually it wasn't a problem but because she wanted to use water today against Ash and not fill the pool in and limit her abilities she had put a certain Pokémon away on the shelf for the battle. That Pokémon had chosen that precise moment as Misty was about to send out her 5th Pokémon to burst out of his ball and in an arc of white light shoot out and land on the float in front of Misty.

"Psy?" Psyduck said holding his head and looking around confused as Misty had to pull her arm back to prevent throwing the Poke Ball in her hand as her tempter at her stupid Pokémon neared Gyarados level. That was when Psyduck saw where he was and instantly panicked. "Psyyyyyy!"

"I take that that you did not intend to use Psyduck." Ash said shocked at what had happened as the Duck Pokémon ran around on the float in a blind panic as it realized the predicament it was in. "I see he still has the same problem as before."

"No I didn't fill the pool so I can't use him." Misty growled while Buizel watched in utter confusion at the panicking Psyduck in front of him. "My biggest failure as a water master, having a water Pokémon that can't swim and refuses learn. His refusal to stay in his Poke Ball I can handle most of the time, his fear of water I can't."

"Wait your Psyduck can't swim." Dawn yelled in amazement. "What in Arceus's holy name! How on earth do you catch a Psyduck that can't swim?"

"Don't rub it in." Misty said with a resigned sigh, Dawn was right and it wasn't worth fighting her over this particular failure. "Psyduck is probably my second most powerful Pokémon, when he is at his best that is, but his inability to swim is a huge embarrassment and failure on my part. Alright Psyduck, time to go back to your ball."

"You can do that but you will have to put one of your two remaining Pokémon away." The ref suddenly said gesturing at Misty's waist.

"Wait what?" Misty asked confused looking at the ref. "I didn't choose Psyduck or send him out. He's not in my rotation for this battle so he shouldn't count."

"That may be but he the fact of the matter is that he is out and on the battlefield and therefore according to the rules he is now part of the battle and your team." The ref said officially. "Sorry but those are the rules, you will have to fight with him. I will allow you to put one of your two remaining Pokémon away however so you can choose who Psyduck is replacing."

"Fine." Misty grumbled as she walked over to the rack and placed the Poke Ball still in her hand on it while picking up Psyduck's now empty ball. "There you go, Seadra is out of my roster and Psyduck is in it."

"That is acceptable." The ref said with a nod as Misty returned to her box. "The match may now continue."

"Alright Ash I wouldn't say this under any other situation but well you know Psyduck." Misty said glaring at her still panicking Pokémon running back and forth on the float like his life depended on it. "Please try not to knock him into the water. I am not in the mood to save Psyduck's life again and I am pretty sure this bikini isn't the best to actually swim in."

"I will do my best." Ash agreed before looking at Buizel and getting the match started again while Dawn silently fumed at Misty's reference to her very minimal attire. "Alright Buizel use Aqua Jet but if Psyduck falls in the water be ready to save him as he can't swim."

"Bui." Buizel said as he launched himself in a jet of water at the pathetic Psyduck he was facing.

"Psyduck dodge." Misty yelled at the Duck Pokémon. "Or at least do something you stupid duck."

Psyduck was still in panic mode and didn't hear Misty's command. He just kept running back and forth in place on the float as he tried to avoid the water. Somehow Psyduck's dumb luck paid off as he managed to run forward just as Buizel was about to hit him causing the Sea Weasel Pokémon to miss him completely. However, the force of the attack spun Psyduck in a circle a few times until he fell onto his ass on the float but the attack had snapped some sense back into Psyduck.

Buizel for his part did not miss a beat. He used the remaining energy from the attack to arc upwards and then flip backwards in a graceful move that he had picked up back when he had been Dawn's Pokémon. As the water attack ended, Buizel turned and landed on the same float as Psyduck who blinked up at the other Pokémon in confusion.

"That's it Buizel." Ash said pushing his advantage. "Quick use Ice Punch on Psyduck."

"Psyduck take the attack on your head." Misty ordered as the ice encased Buizel's right paw. "You can't didge so make sure that hit counts."

As Buizel cocked his arm back, Psyduck leant his head forward, still sitting on the float, and for once listening to Misty. The punch hit the Duck Pokémon squarely between the eyes and he fell backwards, his head slamming into the float before shooting back up to blink in confusion still sitting.

"Keep it up Buizel." Ash said while Dawn looked on utterly confused, especially at Misty's smirk after her Pokémon had taken a hit. "Ice Punch again and again until Psyduck is down and out."

"Bui." Buizel said with a smile, this was easy for him if not a satisfying win and attacked again.

Ash had clearly forgotten in the heat of battle exactly how Misty unlocked her Psyduck's considerable power. It wasn't pretty and often caused a lot of damage to Psyduck but it was undeniably effective. Misty smiled and just let the attacks happened, Psyduck may have barged into the battle unannounced and unplanned but she was still going to use him to win this round at least.

Buizel landed 3 more Ice Punches, all to Psyduck's head and all causing the same reaction as the first, before Misty knew that Psyduck was ready. It was time, Psyduck's eyes were glowing blue and he was moaning louder and louder holding his head the entire time. Then, as Buizel was coming in for a 5th Ice Punch, Misty struck.

"Now Psyduck, stop it with Confusion." Misty ordered.

"Psy." Psyduck wailed but his headache reached its breaking point and he was strong enough to stop the attack much to Ash and Buizel's surprise, the latter's fist inches from Psyduck's head but unable to move.

"Throw Buizel at Ash." Misty ordered and Psyduck twisted his head and the psychic type attack threw Buizel away from him and towards Ash. "Now unleash that headache in a strong Psychic aimed at Buizel!"

"Psy!" Psyduck yelled in pain, his eyes now a deep blue, as he unleashed his full power.

The powerful wave of psychic type power, enhanced by Psyduck's extreme headache, slammed into the still stunned Buizel at full force. He was thrown even faster than before and Ash didn't have time to react. As Psyduck fell back on the float still conscious and feeling a lot better, Buizel slammed into Ash at full speed.

All Dawn could do was wince in sympathetic pain, Piplup too as he knew what Ash was going through, at what happened next. The force of thee blow sent Ash and Buizel flying into the wall behind him and right next to a patch of clearly new concrete that had been a Piplup shaped hole a few weeks ago. It wasn't as forceful as when Piplup had hit the wall but it was still painful.

Ash felt the air driven from his lungs as he slumped down to sit on the ground still holding Buizel in his arms. He looked down at the Pokémon in his lap and groaned painfully. Buizel's eyes were swirls, his mouth open, and out cold. Buizel was out of the fight.

"Buizel is unable to battle." The ref declared raising a flag. "The winner is Psyduck."

"Yes I knew that would work." Misty said jumping up and down as Psyduck just looked around still confused at what had just happened but thankfully no longer panicking as he had forgotten exactly where he was. "Psyduck you are so amazing!"

"Buizel return." Ash gasped as he recalled his Pokémon once he had enough air in his lungs to speak. "You did great, that was my fault you lost not yours. I should have remembered how Misty's Psyduck operates. He's really powerful but only when his headache is at its worst."

"Come on Ash you can do this." Dawn cheered encouragingly to him knowing he needed it right now. "That Psyduck can't swim and is already spent its headache. You will get it this time."

Ash just nodded and smiled at his girlfriend as he painfully got to his feet and slowly walked back to his box. Pikachu tugged at his pants leg from his usual spot at Ash's side indicating that he wanted in, that he was ready to fight for Ash against Misty.

"Not yet Pikachu." Ash said his breath still short as he pulled his 5th Poke Ball ready to reveal the last Pokémon that Misty didn't know about. "We both know who Misty's last Pokémon will be and I will need you for that one. I need my best against her best and in this battle that's you. Besides, this will be quick, we have the advantage and I won't forget how Psyduck fights again.."

"Pika Pi." Pikachu said with a nod knowing that Ash was right, he would be needed at the end and that was a battle he was really looking forward too. "Pikachu."

"Thanks buddy." Ash said with a smile as he looked at Misty. "That was good with Psyduck. It has been too long since I saw him in battle so I forgot his abilities. Shame he won't win this time though."

"We shall see." Misty said with a confidence she didn't feel. "He is my second best so you will need a good Pokémon to beat him."

"And I have just the Pokémon worthy of facing your Psyduck." Ash said with a smile as he cocked his arm back and threw out his 5th Pokémon. "Sceptile, I chose you!"

The Poke Ball burst open and the fully evolved Hoenn starter materialized on their float in front of Ash. Sceptile put his usual reed in his mouth and stared confidently at the now standing but still confused Psyduck across the water from him.

"Let's keep this at range for now." Ash said with a smile. "Your Psyduck is good but only up close if I recall. Sceptile use Leaf Storm and aim at Psyduck's feet and do not hit its head no matter what."

"Tile." Sceptile said as he created the attack and sent it at the Duck Pokémon trusting his trainer's odd instructions.

"Psyduck dodge that." Misty ordered but the Leaf Storm was too wide and Psyduck was confined to his float by his inability to swim, something Misty once again cursed as it limited his abilities. "Or just run in place because you can't swim you stupid duck. That is it, I am going to finally teach you to swim after this even if it is the last thing I do."

Psyduck didn't hear his trainer, he was too busy running back and forth as he tried to dodge the attack while also avoiding the water. It was all in vain as the attack hit the float and his lower body and exploded.

"Psyyyyy!" Psyduck wailed as he was sent into the air flapping his arms wildly despite the fact the he couldn't fly.

"Now Sceptile use Leaf Blade." Ash ordered. "And make sure that Psyduck lands outside the pool as he can't swim."

Sceptile obeyed as he used his powerful leg muscles to launch forward, the leaves at his elbows becoming glowing green and elongating into blades. His speed was such that he reached Psyduck with little problem and slashed the blades at the flailing Pokémon. The grass type attack made contact with Psyduck's belly and he was thrown backwards by the super effective attack, no longer flailing.

"Damn it you stupid duck." Misty growled as she tracked Psyduck with her eyes and backed up a few paces. "You just had to ruin my strategy didn't you. It's intensive training for you when this is said and done. It's time you lived up to your potential."

Psyduck didn't hear his trainer as he was already out could before Misty caught him so he was entirely dead weight by that point. Of course he was also coming at her because of a powerful attack so the result wasn't going to be pretty.

Both of those factors combined to knock Misty right onto her ass with the force of the impact. She just sat there in grumbling in pain as Psyduck lay in her arms, swirls for eyes. Misty did not notice that while her bikini stayed on, the top was loosened by Psyduck hitting right in her chest.

"Psyduck is unable to battle." The ref said raising one of her flags. "The winner is Sceptile."

"Alright way to go Sceptile knock her on her admittedly nice ass." Dawn said cheering as Sceptile leapt back to his float and looked over at Misty waiting patiently for the next opponent. "Only one left and we all know who that is. Defeat it Ash and win this thing!"

"Psyduck return." Misty said as she got up to her feet, again, she was going to have a bruise on her ass and it wasn't how she would have preferred to get it bruised by Ash. "For a sudden appearance you did well but without a full headache we can't do much. I wasn't lying, we are going on an intensive training regime starting once you are healed up."

"Sceptile you want to remain?" Ash asked and Sceptile nodded, he was going to win this for Ash and up his reputation amongst Ash's Pokémon as one of the best. "Good because you still have some advantage over the next Pokémon but it won't be ease. Dawn is right, we know who it will be. Misty promised me she'd go all out so there is only one Pokémon she could be saving for last."

"That you do." Misty said with a grin as she pulled the last Poke Ball form her bikini bottoms, enlarged it and gave it a kiss just as she had done against Dawn though this time it wouldn't be a surprise. "My beautiful blue baby, it is your turn to shine for me. Gyarados, I chose you!"

Misty threw out the ball farther and higher than the others. With a roar of pure rage the 21-foot-long Atrocious Pokémon materialized in the middle of the pool just as it done against Dawn. As always he was ready for battle.

Dawn didn't stop cheering for Ash, after beating this Gyarados she had no fear of it. Piplup, however, dove for cover and didn't look at Gyarados as he trembled in fear. He wasn't sure he could ever look at another one again without seeing a flash of orange and feeling the intense pain he had felt that day.

Sceptile just nodded and waited for his command. He could tell that this Pokémon was powerful, dammed powerful at that as it was a Gyarados, a Pokémon with a known reputation to all. It was a worthy advisory for him. Sceptile would again show why he was one of Ash's top tier Pokémon. He still had that Charizard to dethrone as the best Pokémon Ash had but that would come in time. For now he could show Ash just how good he was by beating this overgrown, pissed off, sea serpent with ease.

"As I expected." Ash said with a nod of respect. "You saved your best for last just as Forrest did. Time to end this though. Sceptile, use Leaf Storm."

"Cut through that with Hyper Beam." Misty ordered and Piplup flinched at that order and hunkered down lower than before, his eyes shut tight and trembling in fear.

Gyarados roared as the orange light formed in his maw. As the Leaf Storm was blasted at him, the Hyper Beam went off. It cut through the grass type attack like a knife through butter and destroyed it as it came barreling down on Sceptile.

"Sceptile, dodge." Ash ordered but the Forest Pokémon wasn't fast enough.

Sceptile leapt up but the orange beam of light still caught him in the leg. it was only a glancing blow that sent Sceptile flying and spinning upwards but it was still a hit and his Pokémon was hurt. After a moment Sceptile reached the apex of his impromptu flight and came crashing down hard to the float.

"Sceptile get up and use Solar Beam!" Ash yelled going for broke as Sceptile got up slowly, his back glowing as he absorbed the sun. "This will be close but I know that you can do it."

"As soon as you recharge use Flamethrower!" Misty ordered. "Show that types don't matter against you."

Ash gritted his teeth and hoped that he had the speed. If the Solar Beam hit then the match was his even if Gyarados didn't go down from it because it would be too badly injured to last long but if it didn't then he was done for, that Flamethrower would definitely end Sceptile. It was like his battle with Max and his Slaking all over again. It came down to which Pokémon was ready first. This time Ash was not so lucky.

As it appeared that Sceptile had the energy to launch his attack, Gyarados recovered and the flames appeared in his maw. Then they shot out at full speed and power and washed over Sceptile before he or Ash could react in time. The Forest Pokémon was too close to being ready to abort even if Ash had wanted to regardless. All he could do was watch as the flames engulfed Sceptile entirely.

Almost as soon as they had begun they ended. Sceptile was still standing there but his back was no longer glowing. Instead he looked charred, his eyes were wide, his mouth open and the twig there reduced to ash that slowly blew away. Sceptile coughed out a cloud of dust and then fell back and crashed down to the float, his eyes nothing but swirls.

"Sceptile is unable to battle." The ref said raising a flag. "Gyarados is the winner."

"Sceptile return." Ash aid with a smile bringing back his fully evolved Pokémon. "You did great buddy, just not enough light this time to get the attack off in time. if you had attacked we would have won. That Gyarados is something else, you have nothing to be ashamed off losing to it."

"Well Ash it's time." Misty said with a smirk. "I know that you too have been holding something back just for me so send him out. It's been too long since I last faced him, I want to see if he is as good as ever. It is fitting that it will be my Gyarados who you have to beat to win. This is it, if you can't beat Gyarados now you've lost because your Leavanny won't win."

"True it is." Ash said with a nod before looking at Pikachu who looked back with a serious look on his face. "It's time buddy, you ready to win it?"

"Pikachu." Pikachu said confidently with a nod of his head.

"Then get out there." Ash said with a smile as Pikachu leapt onto the scorched float. "Time to end this just as we planned."

They all knew that this was effectively the last battle. Misty was right, while Ash still technically had Leavanny he was poisoned and therefore weakened. While Leavanny was strong and had a type advantage over Gyarados that was negated by Gyarados's own abilities and Leavanny's current status problem. That was why it came down to this battle to decide the winner. Neither Ash nor Misty would have it any other way.

"Let's start this out with a bang Pikachu." Ash said pointing at Gyarados. "Use Elector Ball!"

"Dodge it." Misty ordered as Pikachu created and then fired the ball of electricity from his tail.

Gyarados easily twisted his large body out of the way of the ball of electricity. It would have done a lot of damage had it landed but it didn't and it harmlessly hit the far wall creating a small crater where it hit. However, the attack had just been a diversion for Ash.

"Now Pikachu use Quick Attack!" Ash ordered.

"Pika!" Pikachu yelled as he ran forward at full speed towards the Gyarados.

Between the nature of the attack and Pikachu's high speed and agility stats, Pikachu was able to run full pelt at Gyarados, using the floats to make his way there and negate the hinderance of a water battlefield. Before Gyarados could react, Pikachu jumped and hit him in the side of the mouth at full speed.

"Again Pikachu." Ash called out. "Keep the Quick Attacks up! We just need to get lucky once to win this."

"Crunch Gyarados!" Misty ordered. "Don't let Pikachu keep hitting you, any damage will slow you down and make you vulnerable to an electric attack."

Either it was in deed luck or Pikachu's speed but the Mouse Pokémon leapt high and hit Gyarados between the eyes with his second Quick Attack, just before Gyarados closed his powerful jaws. While the attack did little damage, Pikachu was thrown back and flipped through the air and landing on his original float with next to no damage taken.

Gyarados just glared at the annoying little Pokémon that was pestering him ready to end it when he felt it. His body suddenly spasmed in pain as it was wracked by yellow sparks and he briefly couldn't move.

"Alright it took effect." Ash yelled leaping in the air knowing that he had the match. "I love that Static ability of yours Pikachu."

"Pikachu." Pikachu said proudly.

"Paralysis isn't always going to prevent a move and you know that." Misty said, annoyed that she hadn't seen the true extent of Ash's plan. "Gyarados, use Dragon Pulse! This time it will work, I know it."

Unfortunately for Misty it didn't. Not because of some oddity with it not affecting the Pokémon like what happened with Togekiss but because of paralysis taking hold of it thanks to Pikachu's Static ability. Gyarados bellowed in frustration as his body sparked and spasmed preventing him from moving for a moment. Ash didn't hesitate in exploiting his advantage in that moment.

"Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt, maximum power!" Ash yelled. "Let's end this."

"Pikachu!" Pikachu yelled as he unleashed his full power at the monstrous Pokémon before him.

The bolt of electricity flashed across the battlefield and struck Gyarados in the center of his chest. Instantly the super effective attack, made even more effective because of both of Gyarados's types, coursed through his body as Pikachu kept it up for as long as he could manage.

Gyarados howled in pain as the attack devastated his health knowing that it was the end. It was over almost as quickly as it had begun but it was clear that it had been too much even for a Pokémon like Gyarados. Gyarados crashed to the side and hit the ground hard, the ref diving out of the way as Gyarados landed on and destroyed the podium in a cloud of dust.

When the dust settled they could see the results. Gyarados was half in and half out of the water, his mouth closed, tongue out and his eyes swirls. The match was over. Ash had won.

"Gyarados is unable to battle." The ref declared getting up and edging away from the defeated Gyarados. "Misty is out of Pokémon. Therefore the winner is the challenger Ash from Pallet Town."

"Yes!" Ash said leaping up.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said mimicking his trainer in celebration of his victory over another Gyarados.

"Gyarados return." Misty said with a smile as the ref took this as a good moment to leave having executed all of her duties. "You did well, we will work on dealing with electric types in the future, I promise you that."

"Yes that is how it is done!" Dawn said dropping her pom poms and leaping over the edge of the stands forgetting just how high up she was, her only focus being Ash.

Thankfully fall wasn't too far and Dawn landed in a crouch to avoid injuring herself even if the landing still shocked her. As soon as she was up she ran over to Ash who had just taken a step back from his box exhausted after the intense battle. He barely had time to process before Dawn was in his arms. All Ash could do was sweep her up and kiss her deeply not caring that Misty was still present.

Dawn melted into the moment and deepened the kiss though unlike Ash she knew full well that Misty was still there and didn't care. It would have gotten steamy had Misty not loudly coughed and Ash pulled away in embarrassment. Misty had come up behind them to congratulate them but she did not want to see this.

"Sorry," Ash mumbled blushing furiously as he and Dawn broke apart and extended his hand to Misty. "Good match Misty, just as expected."

"It was." Misty agreed taking Ash's hand and then pulling him into a hug that forced Dawn to stagger away slight as she held Ash close. "I missed that."

Ash just hugged Misty back, a little uncomfortable with all the bare flesh he was touching but putting up with it because she was his friend. It was Dawn's turn to fume and cough to get Misty away from her boyfriend, again.

"Oh yeah how can I forget about you Dawn." Misty said breaking the hug and then pulling Dawn to her for a hug and whispering in her ear. "You were a great, and really hot, cheerleader for Ash even if you annoyed me the entire time."

"I think the battle has gone to your head a bit." Dawn said returning the hug as friendly as she could before pulling back as soon as she could. "Thanks though, it was a great one to watch just as I expected it would be."

Dawn didn't notice that her bra had accidentally caught Misty's now loose bikini and pulled it away from her body with her before it was dislodged. The result was that the fabric was shifted away and to the side by a few inches. It was already barely covering Misty's assets so any shift was going to reveal something Misty might not want revealed.

"Ah." Ash said blushing deeply and instantly turning to avert his gaze so that he wasn't looking at his oldest friend in a way that he definitely shouldn't be looking, though he had still caught a glimpse of everything.

"Huh?" Misty said as Ash walked off and left the arena with a confused looking Pikachu making sure to not looking at them while Misty was still holding Dawn's arms after their hug.

Dawn for her part looked down to see why Ash would react as he did, blushed, and then right back up again and into Misty's eyes. She had seen what Ash had seen and Misty was clearly still oblivious to it, at least Dawn hoped that she was but with Misty she couldn't tell.

"Um Misty, slight wardrobe malfunction." Dawn whispered glancing down again to draw Misty's attention to it. "You may want to deal with that."

"What?" Misty asked before looking down and seeing what the problem was, a wicked grin spreading across her face at it before she looked back up at Dawn. "I don't see a problem now, do you Dawn?"

"Misty!" Dawn exclaimed glad Ash and Pikachu were now out of the gym and it was just them. "Cover up! This may be acceptable in the changing room but not in the middle of your gym!"

"Why don't you correct it." Misty said coyly. "You are the one who seems to be fixated on it."

Dawn just grumbled as she let go of Misty, something she hadn't realized she was still doing, grabbed the excuse of a bikini and readjusted it so that everything was covered up again. She made sure not to touch Misty at all, she didn't want to and if she did it would just give Misty even more fuel in their perpetual battle.

"Don't you like what you see?" Misty whispered when Dawn was done. "I thought pink was your favorite color?"

"That is it, time to cool off." Dawn said forceful finally giving into her frustration as she suddenly tackled Misty taking both of them into the cold pool.

Misty was just laughing as they fell into the water knowing that she had scored a victory despite the sudden dunking. Dawn was pissed at Misty as usual but glad she had lost to Ash despite how it had ended after the battle. Overall it had been a good day. Ash had won his second full battle with a gym leader and Dawn had watched Misty lose to him.

As they broke apart underwater, Dawn and Misty swam to the surface and over to the side and Dawn finally joined Misty in laughing at everything. Their perpetual war still on, this time it was a stalemate but as with before the pair had gained more respect for the other despite their rivalry. They still weren't friends, at least not in the traditional sense, but they were getting there.

Despite this, Dawn was still ready to leave Cerulean behind them and continue on their journey. Vermilion City awaited them. Dawn couldn't wait for what adventures were in store for her and Ash as they continued their journeys to achieve their dreams.

Well there it is, Ash's second successful full battle has been completed. There are a few things to address here regarding this chapter. The first is that this is the peak of Dawn and Misty's little war with each other. After this things should mellow out a little though with Misty you can never be too sure. She is set to appear twice more in Dreams in two multi part arcs down the road including one of my favorite, hopefully fluffiest, parts where Misty will get to have some more fun at Dawn's expense just not at the level of this Part. The second thing I want to address here is that Ash's team didn't have a Pokemon with a type disadvantage against Misty. I realized this during the edits when it was too late to change anything but there is a reason for it that Ash will address when he faces Surge in a few Parts time but the short of it is that the Pokemon weak to water aren't really able to battle on a pool. The next Part is going to be more of a filler Part than anything else but there will be one important thing in it, after that it will be Vermilion City and Ash's battle with Surge in the shortest gap between challenges for Ash in Dreams. Before all that though is the next Supplement which will address something brought up in the Part but that is otherwise not relevant to the main plot but raises to the level of Supplement status given what the request is. That is all for this long part and post part note. As always, please follow, favorite (both this story and me in general in order to be notified of any new content), review and just in general keep enjoying my work. Until next time.
