"You are a idiot, you know that?" Annabeth yelled at Percy as he held her blueprint for Athena over her head, him being a towering 6'3 has his advanatges.
Annabeth used to be taller then him but of course she stopped growing at barely 5'7, which is considered a little taller then the adverage 16 year old but Annabeth loved it.
Not of course when Percy made her feel like a midget.
"Give it back," she whined. "I need to finish it before my mom gets up my ass once again."
"Never!" He laughed and held it up even higher in the air. "You've been working on it all day, you need a break," he insisted, and grabbed a blanket from his bed. "Let's watch a movie."
"You're kidding," she laughed. "We can't use TVs, phones, etc. Plus, we don't even have any TVs."
Percy smirked mischievously at her then pulled a tv out of his closet.
Annabeths mouth dropped, she couldn't decide if she was impressed or surprised Percy broke a camp rule. "Where the hell do you even get a tv?"
"The Strolls, duh," he smirked and dragged it over in front of his couch. He threw himself on the couch and flipped through the tv stations.
"What if we get caught? A boy and a girl aren't allowed in a cabin alone, remember? Also were not allowed to use electronics."
Percy shrugged, "Its not like we're gonna make out like Silena and Beckendorf. Plus, who's really gonna be barging in my cabin."
Annabeth groaned in defeat, "fine, you win this time."
He smiled widely but quickly disappeared when a large bang was heard on his door.
Annabeth raced over to the door and opened it slightly. It's was Chiron.
"Hello, mhm, breaking a rule?" He sighed as he looked over at Percy. "No boys and girls in a cabin alone."
"No offense Chiron," Percy muttered. "Annabeth and I aren't sticking our tongues down each others throat."
Annabeth could have sworn she heard Chiron say not yet.
"Annabeth, your father is on the telephone."
Annabeth looked at him surprised. "For me?"
He nodded slowly and smiled sadly. "Cmon, let's go."
Percy looked back at Annabeth and nodded as she left his cabin.
Her father never wants to talk to her, he of course doesn't call unless it's important.
Chiron led her to his office and gave her the ringing phone.
"Dad?" Annabeth whispered.
She could hear her fathers sigh of relief. "Annabeth!"
"Hi, not that I'm upset or anything, but why'd you call?"
"Ah, well, you see, your stepmothers sister is throwing a pool party and she wanted to meet you."
Annabeth glared at no one in particular. "Why would see want to meet me?"
"Uh, Helen may or may not have mentioned you running away at 7. She thinks your still a runaway."
Annabeth fake laughed. "Funny, I technically still am. I'm not going, tell her I died or something for all I care. Nice talk, see you in a another decade or two."
"Please don't hang up," he whispered. "Please?"
Annabeth groaned. "I really don't want to go, Helen hates me. Plus, I remember meeting her sisters kids and they're literally the devil spawn."
Fredrick laughed. "Ah yes, Avery and Elijah, those little troublemakers egged our house 3 months ago."
Annabeth smirked at the thought of eggs all over her old childhood home. "That sucks."
"Listen, I talked to them and they said you could bring a date."
Annabeth snorted. "I don't have a boyfriend."
"Well... Maybe you could bring Percy Jackson. He seems like quite the gentleman. I would say invite your friend Thalia but she seems like a troublemaker."
Annabeth smirked at the thought of dragging Percy to a all ready doomed family reunion. "I'll bring Percy, see you tomorrow."
She hung up on her and looked at Chiron. "I gotta leave for 2 nights, I'm taking Percy with me."
He nodded, understanding what she needed. "Be careful, Annabeth."
She nodded and smiled as she walked out of the big house, running right into Clarisse.
"Watch where your going, princess," she growled, glaring daggers at her.
Annabeth glared back and crossed her arms. "How about you don't run into me."
Before Clarrise could strike, Silena stood in between them. "No need to fight," she giggled. "Cmon Clarrise, Let's go spray paint the Hermes cabin in pink glitter."
Clarisse glared at Annabeth once more then smirked at Silena as she went to prank the Strolls and their siblings.
Annabeth sighed and turned around. Of course her father didn't call to just see how she was like any normal parent would do.
Of course he needed something from her.
Her father is many things, many bad, some good. He's a horrible father for one, him and his obvious self drove her to runaway at young age because of a evil stepmother.
He never cared for her the way she cared for him. She was always the second choice to him, Helen and the twins always came first, no matter what she did.
But he does care in his own way, she knows he will never stand up for her, or be there for her the way Chiron has been, but she knows that he does care about her. She clings onto the hope that someday, maybe, just maybe, he will be there for her.
She stormed Percys cabin and didn't even knock. She slammed the door open and shut and launched herself onto Percys bed.
"Oh, hi," he laughed as he sat at the foot of his bed. "What happened?"
She sighed and stood up in his bed. "My dad wants me to come out to show Helens crazy ass family that I'm okay and not a runaway anymore."
Percy snorted. "Good luck with that."
Annabeth giggled.
"Did you just giggle?" He laughed. "I've never heard you laugh like that before." He stopped himself and groaned. "What did you do?"
She smirked. "You're coming with me. He said I could bring a friend, other then Thalia though. Apparently she's too much of a troublemaker?"
Percy snorted and rolled his eyes. "And I'm not? I'm such a bad boy!"
"Oh gods, you sound so stupid."
"Are you saying I'm not a bad boy? I'm such a bad boy," he said as he attempted to flex his muscles, which made Annabeth blush. "See?"
Annabeth rolled her eyes and hit his arm. "You're anything but a bad boy."
He pouted. "Fine, paybacks a bitch," he said as he grabbed her and started to tickle her feet. He knew she was sensitive there.
She couldn't stop laughing, she got to the point where she was failing around and panting.
He laughed at her after a while and stared at her in awe. "You're cute when you blush."
She rolled her eyes and then smirked. "Did Perseus Jackson just call me cute?"
He blushed deeply and looked at his fiddling hands. "I- I- didn't say- oh shut it, wise girl."
She rolled her eyes and smiled as she lifted herself off of his bed. "Get some sleep. Tomorrow we gotta deal with a evil stepmother and her sisters devilish kids that just happen to be a year older then us."
Percys pov:
I was surprised when Annabeth said her father wanted her to come out, of course that meant he needed her for something, not just because he wanted to see her.
In some ways I feel pity for his best friend. She doesn't have the amazing relationship i have with my mortal parent. Although, my mom does treat her like her own kid. She even admitted that she wants me and Annabeth to date.
According to her and literally everyone at camp were "soulmates, one true pairing, true love," which I think is bull shit.
I mean, of course I love Annabeth and always will no matter what. I just, well, actually yeah I mean, I've always had a little banter with her.
I know she gets jealous about Rachel, which I try not to egg her on about too much.
When Annabeth does get annoying though, I always throw Rachel's name in a conversation and she gets all mad and pouty, which is pretty cute from my point of view.
I'm all for the whole best friends that fall in love story, yet they never get a happy ending.
In all the movies and shows I watch that had that happen, one of them died or something or they both died.
And in our lives, that wasn't a far stretch of what could happen.
I for one wasn't completely dreading this trip out to Annabeths dads place, what's the worst that could happen? We get in a fight with a mortal 50 year old bitch?
Annabeth pounded on my door, which completely drew me out of my line of thinking. "Yeah," I mumbled, throwing on a shirt. "Coming."
Annabeth hit my arm kind of hard, I pretend to be hurt and pout even though she hardly hit me.
She smiled madly and glared at me. "Do you even know what time it is?"
"Time to party?" I asked awkwardly. Annabeth only says that when we're late to something.
"Uh, it's 9:42, seaweed brain. Argus is picking us up at 10. Get a move on!" Then she walked out of my room and slammed the door shut.
"Great," I groaned. "This is gonna be a amazing weekend."
