Placed in and the day after "Wilson's Heart". Focus on Thirteen her disease and feelings. I don't know if there are still fans of House MD here, but I hope so. It's not one shot. English is not my first language. Probably there are mistakes, so you can let me know and I will correct them. Enjoy!

Chapter one

She decided to do this. It was an impulse. Amber was dead. She had to deal with life. With the future and past. She was feeling like in trance. Dr. Hadley prepared the needle and put in in her arm. She felt the prick but didn't even flinch. She was observing how her blood is moving in the test-tube. One, two, One two. After a few minutes she put blood in the machine. "Results will be in three hours" Remy thought and put on the labcoat, if someone would see a trail after needle, questions would start. She returned to House's office and started doing some paperwork. Everybody already went home. It was a difficult day for everyone. Thirteen didn't think about anything, she was just filing the records. She checked the time, three hours passed. Dr. Hadley went back to the lab. She took out results and looked at the paper. It was positive. The expression on her face didn't change. Thirteen was ready for that. 50% chance, she knew before it's a big chance. Wondering she didn't feel panic or terrified. She was feeling... Nothing. She folded the paper on a half and put it in the labcoat's pocket. Remy went home and to bed.

The next day she still wasn't terrified. Dr. Hadley heard that House was feeling better. He came out of a coma that he fell into after stimulating the brain to remember something that would help Amber.

She knew she had to tell him. He would know somehow anyway. Remy put the results to the envelope and hide it in the handbag. After an hour she was walking to House's hospital room. Thirteen came inside and put the envelope on his bed. Then she took a few steps away. House looked at the envelope but didn't even touch it. He examined the young doctor with his look and looked into her eyes. "I'm going to the clinic," Remy said after 30 seconds. "Ok" House nodded. "Thirteen" he stopped her when she was already on the way to the door. She looked at him. "Good for you"

Remy came across Cuddy in the hallway. "Dr. Hadley, what are you doing here?" she asked wonder. "I'm working here" Thirteen smiled. She tried to avoid the question but she knew what Dean of medicine meant. "I gave you all some time off, it was a hard time and House can't work now anyway". "It's flu season, I can help in the clinic" she smiled again hoping Cuddy will leave her alone. "Doctors who's colleague didn't die yesterday can giving out caugh pills. Go home Thirteen" That was the last thing dr Hadley wanted. "I can help dr Cuddy, we have lots of patients" young doctor said. Dean of medicine sighed "Your choice" and went to her office.

Clinic was boring. Only flu, colds overprotective mothers and arguing with patients because "Google said something else". But better be bored than go home and have to think about Huntington's. She started to feel something. She started to feel bad. And that boring work was the only thing that was keeping her from falling apart. She needed something more, something difficult, something that would take her mind, fight for life or at least a mystery. Still, she only could have the clinic, the boring clinic. However, she was more worried about ending shift in an hour. Theoretically, she could stay and help Cameron in the ER but she probably would ask why she is still in the hospital. Of course she could lie but she didn't want to even talk about anything. And with too caring Cameron it would be impossible because of Amber's death. She decided, she will do House's paperwork. So after the clinic was closed she went to her boss office. Remy sat on one of the chairs and sighed, she was keeping in herself lots of emotions. She burst into tears. When a strong attack of crying ended she took two big breaths to calm herself. She pulled a tissue out of the pocket. She had red and swollen eyes. Dr. Hadley went to the bathroom to wash her face with cold water and correct the makeup. She stood in front of the mirror and looked into her reflection's eyes. She looked weak and exhausted. No wonder, she started work at eight, it was midnight and she was still in the hospital. Remy knew she should go home and take some sleep but she didn't want to. She didn't eat anything today except for a sandwich in the morning. "That is not healthy Remy" she said to her self and make herself get a grip. Anyway she decided to finish the paperwork. She was too afraid of going home. So she returned to the department.
