Breaking Point
Disclaimers: All Kingdom Hearts characters are owned by Disney and Square Enix and are all copied without permission. I have made this story for fun and not profit.
Writer's Note: I had been thinking of doing some dark fanfics for many of the characters of the KH franchise and I feel that Demyx may take much of the blunt of the organization's frustrations.. That and I had felt that Demyx could possibly be pushed too far.. I apologize if they may seem out of character, and hope you enjoy the story. (Takes place during KH 358/2 Days)
Prologue
Demyx quietly strummed his sitar as he was lost in his thoughts as he sat in the grey lounging area of the castle that never was. Aside from the recent missions to collect hearts, the week had mostly been quiet. However, an all too familiar voice soon rang out, causing Demyx to stiffen.
"There you are." Larxene said as she approached from behind. "Being lazy as USUAL."
Demyx did not respond to her as he continued to lightly strum his Sitar.
"All you do is lounge around and not do ANYTHING!" Larxene practically shouted.
Demyx tried to ignore her jabs and insults. He already knew where this was going as Larxene grabbed Demyx and spun him around to face her.
"Look at me when I'm TALKING to you!"
Demyx only looked at her before he spoke up.
"What do you want?"
Larxene gave him a look.
"Oh, so you CAN talk back?" she sneered. "I thought maybe you became too stupid to speak."
As the words left Larxene's mouth, Demyx felt something within him stir. It was something that seemed to smolder and burn.
He wanted to say something but could feel a tightness forming in his throat. Finally, Demyx turned away from her.
"I'm busy.."
"Busy?" echoed Larxene. "Busy being USELESS?"
Demyx remained silent before responding.
"Why don't you go bother someone else.?"
"EXCUSE me!?" she snapped.
"You heard me.." Demyx replied. "Go bother someone else.."
Demyx let out a grunt of pain as he was struck across the face.
"You think you can tell ME what to DO!?" Larxene growled.
Demyx remained silent as he began strumming again, only to have his Sitar torn from his hands. Larxene struck the instrument against the floor, caused the instrument's neck to break with a hollow snap. Demyx stared at what remained of his instrument as the smoldering feeling began to rise within him.
"You are NOTHING but a unless COWARD!"
Demyx's breathing became rugged as something within his finally snapped.
There was a loud tearing of fabric as the decorative chain that hung from Larxene's cloak was torn away.
Demyx let out a scream of unbridled fury as he knocked the other Nobody to the floor.
His vision blurred as he continued to angrily throw punches, nailing Larxene's left eye. However, Demyx did not stop. Taking hold of the chain that had been torn from Larxene's cloak, he looped it around her neck, pulling it tight. Larxene's eyes grew wide as she began to gasp for air.
Demyx stared at her with a feral grin, showcasing his teeth.
"Who's useless NOW, you creepy WITCH?" Demyx growled.
Larxene stared at him as she continued trying to breathe, taking notice that Demyx's usual cyan colored eyes flashed a cruel golden color.
Demyx continued to pull the chain tighter as raised his fist into the air for a final blow. Just as he brought his fist down, the door to the room burst open and Demyx was tackled to the floor by Lexaeus while Vexen and Xaldin helped Larxene. Larxene took in a lungful of air as Luxord removed the chain from around her neck.
"Let me GO!" Demyx growled, struggling in Lexaeus's grip.
"That is enough." Lexaeus said.
"You're siding with that WITCH!?" Demyx snapped.
"There is no point." said the taller Nobody.
Demyx continued struggling. However, as he saw the agony on Larxene's face as well as the noticeably forming bruise across her throat, his eyes grew wide, the gold slowly fading back to their natural cyan color.
As he ceased his struggling, he turned his gaze to the floor. Lexaeus took that moment to let Demyx go, and Demyx dropped to the floor, overtaken by shock and confusion.
Demyx glanced up to find many of the other Organization members had gathered within the room at the sudden commotion. He could see the shocked and disapproving looks they were giving him, causing him to turn away.
Roxas, however, was a bit concerned and took a step toward him only to be stopped by Axel. Roxas looked up at him and Axel shook his head.
Demyx slowly got to his feet and turned back toward the broken instrument on the floor and could feel his rage bubbling up within him again. However, as he turned toward the others around him, his anger vanished within an instant and he wordlessly gathered up the broken pieces of the instrument and calmly made his way out of the room.
Author's Note: I had this idea for a while now and I had wanted to write this story.. I'm not sure how this will go, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.. I will try to get more up soon..
