AN: Welcome to my new story, Star Wars: Shadows and Shin'o. This an an AU crossover of Naruto and Star Wars starting before the Clone Wars, operating on a primarily Legends continuity. I should state that this being AU means that Star Wars lore/history is modified as is that of the world of Naruto. This will be rated M for high amounts of violence, bloodshed, war and its realities. This is written with my co-author ShadowicHammer. It is only due to his assistance that this story is even possible. Below will be another Author's Note talking about upload schedule. Now, let us begin our tale.

Jedi Master Plo Koon pulled the throttle of his starfighter roughly back as his R3 unit whizzed in alarm. When his micro jump forced him into discovering this beautiful planet, he didn't expect the gravity well to be so strong as to pull his ship into orbit. Thinking swiftly, he detaches his ship from the hyperspace ring, and pulls the throttle. At his current trajectory, he would be landing safely instead of crash landing.

"R3, Patch me through to the Jedi Council." The calm baritone of the Jedi Master eased the droid's processors as the new task was given highest priority. Within moments, with a satisfied beep, R3 found a signal to send the transmission through and activated the holocommunicator. With a dull hum, the hologram burst to life, showcasing a small humanoid being with wispy hair sitting comfortably in a podchair.

"Master Plo Koon, a surprise this is. Of Service, how may I be?" The Grandmaster of the Jedi Order opened the conversation using his normal speech pattern. Plo Koon responded as he tilted his throttle through a heavy gale, still landing on the planet.

"Grand Master Yoda, I seem to have gotten too close to a planet that wasn't on the star maps. The gravity well was too large to safely jump out, so I am going to land." The elder Jedi nodded as he fiddled with some controls on the side of his chair.

"The coordinates of the Planet I have." Shutting his eyes, Yoda dived into the Force, sensing out his fellow Council member's energy. With a soft hum, Yoda opened his eyes," Strong with the Force, that planet is. Incredibly strong. Loose contact once landed, we will."

Plo Koon nodded, suspecting as such when he first got pulled into the gravity well and felt the planet himself. "There is a layer of death and despair on the planet, as if they are at war. I may require assistance." Plo Koon admitted softly as the transmission became shakier the closer the fighter came to the surface of the planet.

"Hear from you in 3 days, we do not, send help we shall. May the force be with- "With a warble, the transmission cut the Grand Master of the Jedi Order off before he could finish the traditional farewell. Plo Koon began to release the landing equipment, preparing himself for a rougher than standard landing.

With a thump, the starfighter came to rest in a clearing. As Plo Koon exited the craft, he stumbled slightly at the information that his Force senses were sending. Sliding deeper into his connection, Plo Koon gasped as he recognized millions of life forms on the planet, each having a strong connection to the Force. Yet, the connection wasn't as if he was looking at trained Force users, it was different in a subtle yet significant manner.

So caught up in his exploration of the Force was he that he nearly missed the three people who jumped from the trees into the clearing. He looked over each of the new arrivals, making note of their similarities. Each wore a green vest that had some form of plating between the layers, with multiple different pockets for cylindrical or rectangular items. Zipped up the front, it offered seemingly adequate protection, though Plo Koon questioned idlily if it would stop his lightsaber.

The only other significant similarities were that each humanoid wore sandals that appeared to be as armored as the vests, and pieces of cloth that bore a metal plate with a symbol on it somewhere on their bodies. Their differences were more pronounced. The one on the back left was a strangely ashen man with bags under his eyes and a pair of short swords strapped to each hip. From the manner he stood, Plo Koon knew that the man was a swordsman and able to cross the distance between them in an instant. The one on the back right seemed a jolly man, his body rotund and his cheeks covered in red swirls. If Plo Koon didn't see the man's eyes that glittered with some unknown emotion, he would have assumed he was the kindest.

But the one that took Plo Koon's attention the most was the man in front of the two. While the others were shorter than him by at least an inch, this man met his stare easily. The Force that the Jedi Master was just embracing swirled around this man as if it were his friend, yet the man held an air about him. Blond hair the color of the star in the sky with two large bangs framing his face and blue eyes that were calculating yet calm the man could be called handsome by most humanoid species.

The man took a single step forward, and Plo Koon recoiled slightly as the genial air of the Force in the clearing took a clear malicious edge to it as if knowing that the man was thinking of attacking and would do nothing to help the Jedi should it happen.

"Greetings. I am Jedi Master Plo Koon, a member of the Jedi Council. May I ask who you are?" Plo Koon's baritone using Galactic Basic made the man pause.

With a quick snap in a language the Jedi Master had never heard, the blonde man ordered the swords man to circle to the left while the large one shifted to the right. Then, he cleared his throat and started to speak, his voice pausing as he seemingly thought of the correct words.

"My name Minato. What are you doing here?" The words clearly came with great difficulty to the man, as Plo Koon realized that this planet likely had not had much if any contact with the Galactic Republic.

"I am a peacekeeper and came here by accident." Plo Koon spoke slowly, so that the words would be easier to understand.

"What. Are you?"

Plo Koon ignored the momentary flash of irritation at the question, reminding himself that these people likely never had contact outside of their planet. "I am a Kel Dor, from the planet Dorin. Is there someone who can translate for us?" There were mild flashes of confusion on the man's face at the names mentioned, but Minato nodded. As he brought his hands together, the large man barked in their planetary language. Minato angrily replied as he bit through the skin of his thumb before the larger man grunted and pointed at Plo Koon.

Minato moved his hands through various symbols faster than Plo Koon could recognize and slapped his palm to the ground. In a poof of smoke, a bipedal amphibian appeared, that looked suspiciously like Yoda if it had more wrinkles.

"Greetings, I am Jedi Master Plo Koon." The Jedi swallowed his surprise at the apparent appearance of the being.

"Oh! You from off the world are ya? Well that's great! Last time I saw one of you folks was a funeral. Whatcha need Minato boy?" The amphibian spoke easily in Galactic Basic, and looked up to the person that brought him here. Minato rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and replied in his formal language.

"Hmm, I see. You need to work on your Basic then. I'll tell Ma that's what you will be studying tomorrow when you visit." The toad nodded and turned back to Plo Koon.

"Apologize about that. Basic isn't taught here fluently other than by the Summoning Clans. We were the only ones around with that Meetra gal came around ya see." The creature gently tapped the ground and with a small rumble a rock appeared under him that put him at the same height as the Jedi Master.

"Meetra? Was that Meetra Surik by chance?" Plo Koon asked as he crossed his arms curiously.

"Hmmm, Possibly? I didn't ever get her full name, or if I did, the memory isn't as good as it once was." The toad laughed softly. "I'm an old toad Jedi, and I've forgotten more things than most remember."

"Such is the burden of age, I am told. Would you be able to answer some questions for me?"

"Hmm, some questions maybe. I figure worse case, I can't answer em, and I point ya to who can. But first, I think that I am going to give ya something incase my summoning runs out." The toad turned to Minato and spoke rapidly. The man's eyes widened and he blushed slightly. Pulling out a piece of paper, lined in blue, the man pulled a brush and ink from another pouch. Several strokes later, he handed the now completed paper to the toad who read it over.

Turning back to Plo Koon, the toad handed the paper to the Jedi Master. "Slap that there somewhere on your body, and you'll be able to speak and understand the language, at least for a time. The tadpole back there didn't think of it." The toad shook his head in disappointment as Plo Koon obeyed, and chuckled, reminded of how his own master would sometimes shake his head at the antics of the young Jedi. He crushed the wave of sorrow that rushed forth at the thought of his former master, now one with the Force.

The Toad and Minato both noticed the shifting in the man's body language and in Minato's case, could even sense it.

Minato decided that it would be a good test and asked the question that popped into his mind. "Why are you grieving?"

Plo Koon froze as the words translated themselves in his mind, and he merely said "Jedi do not grieve. There is nothing to grieve about becoming one with the Force."

Minato frowned and didn't reply to the automatic answer the Jedi Master gave. He opened his mouth to speak when the largest companion of his snarled,"Enough of this posturing. For the Leaf, I am bringing you in for interrogation!"

The large man rushed forward, catching Plo Koon by surprise at the speed the man possessed. With a twist and a Force enhanced leap, Plo Koon dodged the palm strike by the hand that was suddenly the size of his starfighter.

"You think you can invade the Land of Fire?! I'll capture you myself!" the man screamed as he grew, his form towering over the clearing.

"Chona! Enough! Stand down!" Minato yelled at his man as he raised a foot to stomp on the Jedi Master. As soon as the term stand down was yelled, Chona froze momentarily, giving Plo Koon the opportunity he needed to gather his mind and Push with the Force against the giant's raised foot. With a thunderous crash, the man fell as his balance shifted shaking the earth.

Plo Koon took a deep breathe before his senses screamed at him to move. Darting forward and twisting back, he saw the swordsman from before slash through the space he was just in, the man's face emotionless.

"We don't have to fight." Plo Koon attempted to reason with the swordsman as his hand drifted towards his lightsaber. Out of the corner of his vision he saw Minato blur in movement, but before he could even move, a blade was held to his throat while another Minato held the swordsman in a full nelson. If Plo Koon looked, he would see the giant with a blade being held to his left eye by a third Minato.

"Now. I don't know what has gotten into you two," Minato began, speaking directly to his comrades." But I am the highest-ranking Shinobi here. If I tell you to stand down, you do so. As for you, Mr. Jedi, I don't think you should be attacking anyone here." In a puff of smoke, everyone was released and Minato was back in his spot as if he never moved in the first place. The Toad merely sighed and gestured for Plo Koon to speak.

Plo Koon processed silently for a moment before he spoke. "It seems that I need to explain. As I said before, I am a Jedi Master, a peacekeeping warrior for a system of planets that go by the Galactic Republic. I came to this planet accidently, and only wish to go back home."

The toad nodded slightly and motioned for Minato to lean down. The elderly being whispered into the blonde's ear and Minato seemed surprised. He voiced his concern only to receive a slap to the back of the head by the toad.

"Are you sure Pa? Okay Okay! Ow!" Minato straightened and smiled at Plo Koon before reaching out and offering his hand.

"As the Fourth Hokage Incumbent, I invite you to the Village Hidden in the Leaves."

Plo Koon grasped the man's hand and said, "I would be honored to visit your village."

Minato's smile became mischievous as his two companions appeared beside them and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hold tight. It may be slightly bumpy."

In a flash, all four vanished, leaving a clearing with only a droid, a star fighter and Kunai stabbed into a tree. And a rather angry elderly toad that got left behind.

The toad grumbled slightly before hopping over to the space craft and slapping it lightly. In a puff of smoke, the craft vanished taking the docked droid with it, and with a few hand symbols, the toad vanished as well.

Plo Koon stood in front of the Jedi Council after reporting his first interactions with the people of Shin'o. His fellow council members were wearing mixed expressions. While the reformist block of the Council wore expressions of curiosity, some of the traditionalists such as Grand Master Yoda and Mace Windu wore expressions of disbelief colored by some suspicion. Mace Windu frowned as he asked the question that was on the mind of every Council Member's mind.

"In summary, you landed on an unknown planet in the Unknown Regions that happened to be extremely Force rich and inhabited by sentient lifeforms, the majority of which were warriors who all carry a Force Mutation that allows them to utilize their life given energies to create and control various aspects of life itself in the form of water, fire, earth, wind and lightning, can augment their bodies to the point where they were able to surprise a Jedi Master in a combat situation, and are militarily organized to the point of being considered, should the Republic catch wind of them, as an army. And you just now decided to report this, six months after discovering them?"

"Of course I am reporting it now. As you are undoubtably aware, I contacted Grand Master Yoda as I was forced to land on the planet, and reported in as instructed three days later. However, I did not leave the planet until 10 days ago, landing merely four hours ago." Plo Koon answered the question without any fuss, and after turned to the holographic form of Saesee-tiin who hummed thoughtfully.

"10 days to go from the Unknown Regions to Coruscant is an impressive time. Do you have anything to report about the new Starfighter?"

"The starfighter performed admirably, however it was also the cause of my landing on Shin'o in the first place. After landing on Ilum for several days, the navigational systems were… not as operational as I originally thought during my maintenance check. My astro-mech R3-D1 noticed the issue after we performed our first microjump, but by then the damage was done, and I was in the gravity well of the planet."

"I see. I suppose that we should decline on the offer of more Delta 6b's then. Does the Council agree?"

Saesee-tiin's proposal was shot down immediately by Ki-Adi-Mundi, another Council Member communicating via hologram. "It seems that the better course of action would be to repair these issues, and order them for our Jedi. As it was, until landing on Ilum, of which I suspect we are all curious about in the first place Councilor, the starfigher served well. As for the droid, which was also being tested, it seems that should be immediately added to our resources."

Grand Master Yoda hummed in response, cutting off the argument that was about to take place between the two Council Members. "Good Points, you both make. On topic, they are not. Master Plo Koon, more on these Shinobi have you?" The comment made Even Piell laugh aloud, gaining looks of irritation from the rest of the council while Oppo Rancisis, the master known for his tactics, leaned further in out of curiosity.

"The people of Shin'o come in two forms. The general populace, collectively have little control of their inner energies, even if they are all Force Sensitive. They are mainly civilians. However, the portion of the populace that is of the most interest is their warrior forces. Termed Shinobi by the populace, these fighters are highly efficient combatants, capable of performing nearly any task. They are masters of stealth, combat and the use of their inner energies. They are even organized similarly to the Jedi Order. Their padawans are called Genin, and are trained in teams of three under a master known as a Jonin. Jonin are easily the equivalent of Master Jedi. Between the two are their Knights, called Chunin."

"When you state that a "jonin" is the equivalent of a Master Jedi, what do you mean exactly?" Mace Windu questioned.

Plo Koon nodded, and thought for a moment on how he would respond. "I speak purely from a combative stance. While the Shinobi do not fight using the Force itself, their inner energies or Chakra as they label it, grant them techniques that showcase a great versatility. Several of their shinobi have a range superiority towards most Jedi, and their techniques are highly aggressive. In my opinion, most Masters would be overwhelmed before being able to organize an offensive."

"Again, these people seem to be a possible threat to the Peace of the Republic. Yet you stand here calmly as if that isn't the case. Please explain." Mace Windu ordered as his eyes narrowed. He knew Plo Koon well, and he would never allow a threat to the Republic sit by without some form of oversite or plan. His assumption was correct as Plo Koon straightened with success and produced a scroll.

"This is a copy of the agreement myself and the leader of the Leaf Village, Minato came to. We have labeled it the Shin'o Accords. There are several provisions of this accord, designed solely to ensure the safety of the Galactic Republic and the peace of the Shin'o planet and her populace. For 8 years the only representatives of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Council must arrive and be under myself, and are not allowed to bargain for use of shinobi forces off the planet of Shin'o. In exchange, Shin'o people have agreed to not take any mission or task that would take them off world for 8 years. Shin'o, as a planet, does not have a singular government, therefore they will not be joining the Galactic Republic. Instead, the leaf village will be allied directly to the Jedi Order, under an equal interference policy. Any interference of the Jedi Order or any allies of the Jedi Order, to the people of Shin'o will be considered an act of interference and will receive retaliation in equal measure." Many of the Jedi Council's faces darken in anger before Plo Koon continues. "In exchange, The Jedi Order, represented by Plo Koon, can at any time in the next 10 years, take one shinobi youth from the Shinobi Academy to train as a Jedi directly under Plo Koon." Instantly, the tension in the room eased slightly. Plo Koon once more continued,"Finally, any shinobi youth taken by the Jedi Order must receive shinobi training as well as being trained to be a Jedi. Further, that Shinobi will be considered to be on a life long mission, that will prevent the shinobi from ever being assigned another mission by the leaders of the village. The orders for that life long mission will be as follows: This shinobi will spend their life serving to the best of their ability the Jedi Order, until such an instance that order contradict the safety of the planet and or people of Shin'o. All missions taken under the Jedi Order fall under this mission's parameters and will be paid by the mission. Completion of the mission shall be completed only at death or the destruction of the Jedi Order, and all commissioned funds from the mission will be granted to the last of kin as listed under the Shinobi's records, payable by the Jedi Council."

The Council exploded in commotion as each member baring Mace Windu and Yoda voiced their outrage at the proposal. Mace Windu seethed in his seat before speaking, his low voice silencing the room.

"These Shinobi wish for us, the Jedi Council and the Jedi Order, to pay for the education of one of their own as a Jedi, while simultaneously granting training in their own Force teachings?"

"There is precedent towards that. I myself was allowed to train in Baran Do, the Force teachings of my planet. There is no reason we should deny the youth the ability to understand their own people's teachings." Plo Koon argued softly, his position on the matter was well known by the rest of the council.

"There is also the issue of the Jedi Code! A Jedi should hold no attachment baring that towards peace!" Mace Windu exploded.

"One of our own Council members violates that condition." Plo Koon gestured towards Ki-Adi-Mundi before continuing," Not only that, but you are asking a people who had no contact with the greater galaxy to allow their people to be whisked away never to be returned while engaging in politics that they as a planet are not prepared to deal with!" Plo Koon showed irritation for the first time since the meeting started. "These people have no centralized planetary government because they have been at war with each other at various points for the last millennia! Yet you wish for them to band together immediately upon learning that there is sentient life beyond their own planet, allow their future children to be picked up by the Jedi Order to be trained to be peace keepers for an organization that they have no solid comprehension of and not demand anything in return? If you had discovered the planet with that attitude, we would be looking for a dead Jedi Master!"

The council was silent as the normally calm and collected Jedi Master Plo Koon breathed heavily through his breathing apparatus. Once calmed, he finished his report. "I decided to accept the Accords as a member of this Council to allow the Jedi time to get to know the people, and possibly gain a valuable future Jedi. Should we decide that the planet holds too much risk, the people of Shin'o are open to never being apart of the Galactic Republic at all, and in fact, wish for only the Jedi Order to know their planet's location as of this moment. By agreeing to the Accords, I have bought a resource for the Jedi Order that is without equal, time. With time, I have faith that we will be able to forge a strong bond with the people of Shin'o and create a relationship that benefits the galaxy."

Grand Master Yoda spoke as the rest of the council sat thoughtfully. "Told first of this development, I was." Mace Windu turned to the Grand Master with a glare only to be silenced by a hand. "Meditated on the development, I did. The situation, complex it is. Ally agreements normally made with developed star systems they are. Hmm. The future is clouded, by the power this decision makes. The Shinobi people, similar to the Wookies of Kashyyyk they are. A great asset to have allied with, a terrible force if angered."

Oppo continued the line of thought," There are also several military advantages this Accord grants. Should we pick a shinobi trained child, we can learn of how they teach their Force Traditions, and depending on which child we choose, may gain valuable leverage over the Shin'o populace. Not to mention the fact that Master Plo Koon is correct in that it grants us a decade to prepare for any contingencies."

Mace Windu opened his mouth to speak, before being cut off once more by Grand Master Yoda.

"Plan for contingencies we shall not. Going to war, this order was not created for. Final that is."

"I agree with Grand Master Yoda. This order was created to keep peace, not create war. While I am of the opinion, we should leave Shin'o alone, to do so without oversight is preposterous. With this Accord we can continue to send Jedi to build rapport and to keep an eye on them." Mace Windu continued when it was clear that the Council wasn't going to interrupt him. "Now, Master Plo Koon, you stated that you went to Ilum, did you find what you sought?"

Plo Koon stood silently, thinking of his mediations in the force on the sacred planet. He traveled there in his grief, hoping to ease his mind of the passing of his master. His mind flashed towards having conversations with Minato and Hiruzen, two of the smartest men he had the pleasure of meeting. He replayed moments of playing games with a man who had a black goatee and scars and watching as every strategy he utilized was countered no matter the game that they played. He remembered looking at the star set over the village from the vantage point atop their monument, watching as dozens of colors danced across the buildings, trees and lakes. He remembered the last conversation that he had with Hiruzen before leaving, that those who pass are not just part of the Force, but apart of us and live on through our actions.

"Yes, I found the peace I looked for."

AN: I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter. This series is the one that has taken my muse from my other story Harry Potter and the Potter Grimoire. I have already prepared a further 4 chapters for this fic and will publish them every other Thursday baring any complications. My goal is to always be 4 chapters ahead.
