Chapter 1: A Tale of A Song

Eric was listening to his men singing of old tales on the sea.

He was enjoying his time sailing through a small rain storm heading home after his visit to another kingdom for a wife failed.

How many princesses in the world do NOT want to have a lifetime adventure?

Eric was getting tired of it. He was ready for someone real and to come his way.

He was going to do it. He was going to make the request with the guardians.

Once they returned, Eric made his mind up. "Grimsby. I'm getting help from the guardians." He said.

"Sir Eric. Are you sure that's a good idea?" Grimsby asked.

Eric nodded. "I am sending for one to come and help me now." Eric said.

Before Grimsby said anymore, Eric was in his room writing to the guardians.

There was no stopping him.

Max was sleeping away in his little bed dreaming of him and Eric playing on the beach. Which is what they do everyday.

Eric finished his letter and sent it off.

He went to bed happy with his decision.

By the next day or two, Eric got visitors.

"Prince Eric, you have a couple of guests here. Guardian, Jack Frost, Rapunzel, and Merida." Carlotta said.

"Let them in." Eric said setting his glass down and stood up.

Walking in was a tall man-no. Boy. He was pale with silver hair, wearing a blue sweatshirt and gray pants. He didn't have shoes on, which was odd. But Eric moved on.

Her knew of Rapunzel and Merida being guardians as well as princesses. Merida was a long boat trip away and a close friend for years. Rapunzel was fairly new, but he's been getting invitations to visit her and her family. Possibly for a marriage proposal.

But he wasn't interested with blondes. But he wasn't one to be rude.

"Welcome." Eric said.

Max came running and Jack was thrilled. "Hello doggie. Your a playful energetic one. Prince Eric, I am here to help you find the wife you want of your dreams." Jack said.

"Thank you." Eric said.

"Why don't we go somewhere we can talk?" Jack asked.

"Sure. I have my study. Let me finish eating and I'll meet you there." Eric said.

"Yes. And I have my guardian mates here with me...because...Well, Merida wanted to come as backup since my friend Hiccup wasn't going to be here on time. I don't know why Rapunzel is here."

"I'm here for support." Rapunzel said. "And I also and here to be a shoulder to cry on. I know how hard it is, to find a soulmate." She explained.

"Very well. I'll be right there. Carlotta, fix them some tea." He said.

"Right away. I'll get on it. Green tea?" She asked.

"Please." Merida said.

"Sure. Do you have any lemon with it?" Rapunzel asked.

"I'll stick with black thank you." Jack said. He walked right out of the room.

The girls slowly followed.

"Prince Eric. Are you sure this is the only way?" Grimsby asks him again.

"I am sure. I'm tired of traveling so far to visit other kingdoms to be unimpressed at all these princesses. I'm ready to find her. I'm ready for this to be over." Eric said.

Grimsby sighed and let Eric do what he needed to do.

Eric finished breakfast and headed to his study, where Jack was sitting and reading a book.

"The song of the maid." Eric said.

"A story about a mermaid who sang her song at night, but instead of attracting sailers, she was heard by a king, he loved hearing her voice. Every night he would look out at the sea to listen to her. When the king married, the queen had the maid hunted down. But as they killed the maid in the water, she turned into a fish. The king cried and cried, and drowned. He jumped off his balcony. It's a very bitter sweet story." Jack said.

Eric nodded. He took a seat and Jack put the book away. "You've read it before?"

"No. The song is of legend among us guardians." Jack said. "Now, tell me, what is it, you want in a wife?" He asked.

Elsewhere...Under the SEA...

"Elsa! Ariel! Anna! Moana! Where are you?!" Sebastian was calling for the girls.

Ariel, Elsa, Anna, and Flounder were all hiding in the seagrass, Moana and Maui were hiding in Ariel's grotto while Sebastien was looking for the other girls.

*Giggling.

"Ariel. This is the best idea of a hiding spot ever!" Anna whispered.

"Thanks. I'm glad you like it. Sebastien will never find- Huh? Elsa? What are you doing?" Ariel asked.

Elsa was looking up through the tall grass. Why was she getting this odd feeling of...need on the surface?

"Elsa. Sister O mine?"

"Oh. Sorry Anna. I was..."

"Found you girls!"

"Ah!" Sebastien found them and the girls screamed.

Sending the little crab off into the air? Water. And he landed in front of the grotto.

"Wow. That was loud. We could hear that through the rock." Moana said.

"Sebastien. Don't scare the girls. You know that." Flounder said.

"Sorry. I forgot how loud they scream." Sebastien said.

"Elsa. Are you alright?" Anna asked her again. "You've been acting a little weird. Are you thinking about those...dreams again?" Anna asked.

Elsa thought about her dreams. Her dreams of a strange prince with legs. He smiled at her. Why?

"No. More like Ursula." Elsa said.

"Oh no! We aren't going to talk about her again." Anna said.

"Come on girls!" Ariel said.

"Let's go." Anna smiled. Elsa swam along with her into the grotto.

"Well, what do we have to add to the collection of...the surface?" Anna asked.

Elsa smiled seeing Ariel so happy. Why didn't she also feel happy with her life? But then again, why was she dreaming of a HUMAN prince?!
