A young black-haired male in his late teens, maybe early twenties walked down the sidewalk with clear depression written all over his body language. His hands were in his pockets, he was hunched over slightly, and he was almost dragging his feet.
People walked passed him without a second glance, not even a first glance. It was almost as if he didnt exist to them.
The boy was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, he had black hair and cold blue eyes. Everything about this boy was average.
The only thing about him that was not average was his height, it was above average. It was the only thing that he was proud of.
He stood at six feet and five inches, eat your vegetables, kids.
This boy's name is Thomas Klaus, his father was German, he got most of his features from him.
He didn't have the accent though, that was the only thing of his mother he got. She was American. He also got her pale skin tone.
Thomas was on his own, his parents were gone. His mother passed because of a rare disease, his father died in a freak accident.
A semi collided with his car, it was discovered that the truck was sabotaged to continue to accelerate and was unable to stop. The driver did everything he could to try to slow the truck down, when he couldn't do anything, he detached the trailer on a long stretch of road so it could slide to a stop.
He tried to steer it away from any people, unfortunately, he was forced to choose between a family in a minivan, his father's car, or his own life.
It was also later discovered that the trailer was full of several steel pipes of varying sizes, it could have done so much more damage if the driver didn't detach it.
He managed to shut the engine off after some drastic measures.
Thomas didn't find out about this until after his father had died in the hospital. He was twelve years old at the time.
He had gotten home from school to see a police car in his driveway.
Now, he was on his own. He moved away to a new town, now he was looking for a job.
He was walking to a place called 'Freddy Fazbear's Pizza'.
Its a children's pizza place with robots, he was going to apply for the night guard position.
He arrived after a few more minutes of walking.
He stepped into the place, kids were running around.
Parents were roaming.
And the robots were singing.
He looked around for someone wearing a uniform of some sort.
He didn't see anyone.
Suddenly, everything stopped. And when he said that, he literally meant everything stopped, frozen in place.
Children were frozen mid step, he saw a mother reaching for a dropped phone, also frozen.
'What the hell?'
He looked around, he felt chills. He had an urge to turn around, so he did.
He almost let out a yell of fear, there was a golden figure that looked like the bear on stage. It was floating just a few feet off the ground.
Its eyes were white dots, he felt like it was staring into his soul.
Thomas just stayed silent, feeling that speaking would be a bad decision.
"You interest me…"
Thomas was so very confused, he was about to say something when the bear vanished, sound invaded his ears.
Everything was moving again, everything was un-frozen.
"Excuse me!"
Thomas turned to see a woman with purple hair approach him. She was dressed in a purple uniform and had purple eyes.
He just looked at her, still processing what he just saw.
"Um, are you lost, sir?"
Thomas had to say something, anything to not look like a fool.
"Entschuldigung, ich bin nur müde"
His brain was too mixed up to realize he just spoke in his first language. It always happens when he gets upset or is not focusing.
The girl looked at him like he was an alien.
"Uh, do you speak english?"
His eyes widened, he spoke German to her by mistake.
"Sorry, I was not focusing"
"Are you new here?"
"Yes, I just moved here a few days ago, im looking for a job"
"Oh! Are you here for the night guard position?"
"Yes, i-"
"Great!" she cut him off, her eyes sparkled with joy. "Come with me!" she grabbed his arm, pulling him along. It probably looked funny to see the girl pulling the tall boy with her.
She had to look up to look into his eyes, she had to be below six feet.
The purple girl pulled him into an office.
"Here! Sign these and the job is yours!"
Thomas was not dense, he wasn't just going to sign anything without reading it first.
"I'm not signing my soul away, am I?"
The girl giggled and rolled her eyes. "No, i'm not the Devil, these papers just state that if signed, you don't mess with the animatronics, don't break the rules, stuff like that"
"Ok" he debated on telling her what he saw, but did not want her to think he was mentaly unstable.
He signed the papers.
"Great! Im your boss now, your shift starts at midnight, and ends at six" she grabbed a box and shoved it into his arms. "Here is everything you need to get started"
She pushed him to the door. "Don't be late, big boy~"
He was shut out with a red face.
XXXX
Thomas was now dressed in a security guard uniform, he had a flashlight, that was it.
He walked back into the building. It was pretty much empty except for the robots and his new boss.
The woman approached him. "You actually came!"
"Yeah, why would I not?"
"Well, I had a lot of people never come back after they read into the history of the company"
"Did something bad happen here?"
"Wait….. You don't know?"
"Know what?"
A sparkle of something grew in her purple eyes.
"Nothing! Don't worry, just get to your office, you start in five minutes"
Thomas was now slightly scared.
"Oh, I never got your name"
"Thomas"
"Well Thomas, Im Veronica, nice to meet you"
She took this time to look him over.
"I like tall boys~" she got close to him looking directly up at him. "Maybe you can take me on a date after your shift"
"Huh?" Thomas was dumbfounded, this girl is weird.
She giggled and walked out of the building.
Was she serious?
Thomas sighed and went to his office, the lights shut off about halfway there.
"Scheiße!" he put his hand over his racing heart.
He continued to his office and sat in the chair, this office is disgusting.
Thomas took out his phone and earbuds, he began to play some loud music.
He wasn't able to hear the phone ringing because of it.
'I should probably start walking around' that's what security guards do right? They walk around with their light?
Thomas began to wander, he missed the confused and surprised looks from the robots on stage, walking from room to room.
There was a thump, Thomas paused his song. Listening.
He unpaused when he didn't hear anything. He searched the party room and found nothing.
Thomas turned to leave the room, he froze when he faced the door.
There was a large purple bunny in the doorway, it was staring at him.
'What the hell?' he walked up to it, he matched the bunny in height. The bunny was taller only because of its ears.
This thing was supposed to be on stage, why is it here?
"Hmm…...what are you doing here?..." he was speaking to himself, so he didn't expect a response.
"I was wondering the same thing"
Thomas froze.
"Did…. did you just speak?"
"I think I did"
Indeed it did, its mouth moved and everything.
"I uh, wasn't expecting you to be able to speak"
"I have to be able to speak in order to sing don't I?"
"Well yeah, but I didn't expect for you to speak freely like this, as if you were human"
"You are pretty tall for a human"
"I know, im a freak right?"
"No, you're just a tall human, if anything we're the freaks"
"Why would you say that?"
"Well, we're sentient, more than any robot should have a right to be"
"I don't mind, as long as you guys don't try to kill me"
"Did you not listen to the man on the phone?"
"The what?"
"There's a phone in your office, someone always leaves a message for the night guards"
"Oh, I guess I didn't hear it"
"Well, don't bother, that man speaks lies about us, he says that we kill people"
"Do you?"
"It only happened one time, a long time ago. And it was an accident"
"Well, accidents happen"
"You're really not afraid of us?"
"I don't have a reason to be afraid of you, are the other two like you?"
"Yes, would you like to meet them?"
"Sure, why not. I'm going to be working here, so I guess I should know you guys"
"Ok, im Bonnie by the way"
"Thomas"
The bunny smiled, it looked kinda funny.
"Oh, just one thing-" Thomas figured that telling these robots about his strange vision would be fine.
"What is it?"
"Well, when I first came here, I had a strange vision"
The bunny's eyes went wide. "It….it didn't involve a floating golden bear did it?"
"Uh yeah! It did, do you know anything about it?"
"Oh no….."
The bunny had a look of pure fear in his eyes.
