"Shouto, it's so cold. Even with my fur in my wolf form, I was shivering and now I can't transform. What are we going to do?" sniffed Dana, curled in a crouching position around the meager fire they could maintain in the rocky overhang.

"Shh, Dana, I'm here. We'll be okay, but first, let me wrap your arm, it'll do us no good if we let it get infected," whispered Shouto as he took a torn strip of his shirt and wrapped the bleeding gash on her arm. He winced as Dana struggled to conceal a pained whimper as he removed some gravel from the wound before wrapping it.

The battle had been fierce, the new team of villains consisted of a teleporter, a technopath and a man with super strength. They had all put up a fight but unfortunately, they hadn't found out the teleporter's abilities until it was too late. She called herself Misappear but had largely stayed out of the battle. It wasn't until Dana intercepted a well-placed blow meant for Shouto. Shouto's pained scream of "Dana!" echoing through the warehouse. He raced toward his downed partner who was now back in her human form and struggling to sit up. He crouched down kneeling protectively in front of her as he faced toward the weapon. As Shouto and Bakugo fired at the weapon the teleporter appeared behind the pair and the second her hands touched their shoulders, the two disappeared in a flash of light, much to their teammates' horror.

The pair reappeared in an icy wasteland leaving them bruised, freezing, and alone as a mound of snow dumped on them for good measure. Their search for shelter had been painstakingly slow as they trudged through the snow. Dana had been growing weaker by the minute, her energy already depleted from the battle, causing her transformation to wear off, leaving her exhausted and vulnerable in her human form. Just as a small opening became visible in a rocky outcropping, Dana collapsed in the snow, flecks of her blood marring the freshly fallen snow with flecks of crimson. A panicked Shouto quickly picked up the wounded girl and carried her bridal style as he rushed toward the small cave, careful not to jostle Dana too much. Once they had arrived inside the cave Shouto was barely able to maintain a fire without dramatically depleting his own energy. The flame flickered weekly as Dana, who with Shouto's help, was sitting leaned up against the wall, shivered, her trembling wracking across her body.

"Shouto, just leave me and go find help. I'll be fine here and besides, I'm useless until I regain enough energy to transform, I'll just slow you down!" plead Dana hoping that he'd listen to reason. The cold was starting to get to her and they desperately needed to find help before the blizzard blocked out any rescue vehicles or the shaky mountain crumbles, leaving them without shelter.

"Don't be stupid, I'm not leaving you behind! If I leave you'll freeze!" shouted Shouto outraged at the very thought of leaving her behind.

"And if you stay, we'll both be stranded until dehydration gets us!" snapped Dana, trying to get her partner to see reason.

"I'm not leaving you! What happened to our promise? Our promise that we would fight as a team! I'm not just going to leave you here too drained to protect yourself!" he shouted, refusing to change his opinion on the matter.

"Listen we got what we came for, the mission was a success. Before he teleported us, I was able to swipe it from him. But they don't know we have it and our radios are shot. They have no idea where we are. This stupid piece of metal is the key to destroying a massive weapon. Why risk the lives of thousands just to keep me safe? I can make it a few hours, I promise," plead Dana hoping that a different more emotional approach may help him understand.

"Look at you, you're drenched and shivering, clinging around the fire I can barely keep lit. The second I leave it will go out, leaving you in the dark, cold and alone!" he screamed

"That's a price I'm willing to pay! It's my body, I can decide if I can handle my-" Dana's rant is cut by a bolt of pain caused by the chill, causing her to fall over, curled on her side.

"Dana!" panicked Shouto, jumping up and rushing to her side. "Come on Dana. Look you're not fine. We'll set off in the morning when you can shift, but until then we are both staying here," huffed Shouto, who was growing more worried by the minute as Dana's shaking grew worse.

"Really icicle, you choose now for an I told you so?" laughed Dana quietly, earning a strained smile from Shouto.

"Listen, Dana, you're not going to like this but do you trust me?" after a weak nod from Dana, he removed his jacket. "I need you to change out of your wet clothes and into this. Your skirt seems to have dried but the leggings and shirt need to go," he tells her tossing her the jacket before looking away.

"Don't worry I won't look," he chuckles trying to hide his worry as Dana changes into the drier clothes.

"I'm done," squeaked Dana, still trembling as Shouto turned around.

"Good, now come here," he whispered, blushing.

"Excuse me?" squeaked Dana, her own cheeks flushing red.

"I can up my body heat using my flame side, I should be able to keep you warm enough to reduce the shivering," he said, stuttering, his hand rubbing the back of his neck nervously, his blush deepening.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine! Please go find- achoo! " plead Dana as her own sneeze cut her off, causing Shouto to raise an eyebrow accusingly.

"See you are definitely not fine!" glared Shouto as Dana realized that she was not going to win this one.

"I don't see why you're so upset. We got the fuel cell. I grabbed it when that asshole threw me across the room, so mission accomplished!" snapped Dana, pouting as she tossed Shouto the small vial.

"It's not worth it if I lose you!" screamed Shouto, immediately freezing once he realized that he said it out loud.

"Shouto...I didn't know," stammered Dana.

"That's because I was afraid that you didn't like me that way, but, this is too much," he whispered, taking her hand in his, "seeing you today, injured and bleeding and all I could do was watch!"

"Shouto-," started Dana, but Shouto quickly cut her off.

"Wait, I'm not done. I can't keep doing this," said Shouto, rubbing his face.

"Doing what? Shouto, I don't understand," whispered Dana, as she laid a hand on his shoulder.

"I can't keep seeing you take hits for me, don't you realize, how difficult it is to see you injured like this!" screamed Shouto, as ice erupted out behind him as he punched the ground repeatedly, the pain in his voice echoing off the cave walls, as Dana froze, realizing what he was talking about.

"Shouto stop, you're hurting yourself!" cried Dana, grabbing his bloodied hands in hers. "I don't take those blows because I'm reckless, I don't take the pain because it's the 'heroic' thing to do, and I definitely don't do it because I don't think you can protect yourself, I do it because I know I can trust you. I care for you and I wouldn't put us through that unless I knew that when I go down, I that can trust you to finish the fight," said Dana, her chest heaving from the large outburst, as she leaned back against the wall, exhausted, as Shouto stared at her with wide eyes. Dana shivered weakly, the cold starting to get to her, as her body tried to transform, but was simply too exhausted.

Once he had snapped out of his stunned state, Shouto gazed and Dana and made his decision. He quickly erected and ice door around the entrance of the cave, blocking out the wind before he scooted over to her and wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace. For the first time in his life, he concealed the cold part of himself in favor of the flames. His right arm, now reduced to the regular temperature of a human and his left side radiated heat as he wrapped Dana in a warm embrace. Dana whimpered at the sudden contact jostling her wounds, but it soon turned into a contented moan as feeling returned to her cold limbs and her shivering stopped as the cold leeched from her bones.

"Shouto...thank you," whispered Dana as she let out a contented purr, as she snuggled closer, listening to the steady sound of Shouto's heart as she slipped into a contented slumber.

"Anything for you Dana...I love you," whispered Shouto placing a kiss on the slumbering girl's forehead, something he would be too embarrassed to do if she were awake, as he still hadn't told her how he truly cared for her as more than a friend, those thoughts echoing in his mind as he too fell asleep, her head tucked underneath his chin as he lay curled protectively around her.

As the two teens lay in a tight embrace, slumbering on, they didn't even notice the ice being cleared, as All Might stepped into the cave, his gaze lowering to the teens, where he let out a knowing smirk and whispered, "It's about time,".
