At U.A, flames of a human form traversed the halls to Nezu's office. His face was always stoic and answered with as much energy, becoming more apparent as of recent years. His son was in trouble,
and he would not fail as a father, not for something he caused.
Enji Todoroki, a.k.a Endeavor, arrived at Nezu's office and before he could even knock, Nezu called him in.
"Come in please."
Enji froze for a moment but figured it was expected of the chimera and his intelligence. Opening the door, Nezu was neatly sorting through files of the first years, mostly about the hero course due to the invasion of last week. Endeavor hoped to any god that could hear him, that perhaps his son had changed.
"Please, have a seat. Tea?" offered Nezu, which he graciously accepted. His nerves and stress were already high as it is.
"*Sigh*...Has there been any luck with Shoto?" Enji's eyes like that of any stressed parent, it appeared foreign on the face of the hellfire user.
"Hmmm, from what I've observed, only during the U.S.J crisis has been open in the slightest. Perhaps moving into the dorms by the end of this week will smooth his rough edges?"
"Dammit! Why and how did I fail this badly?"
"You can't blame yourself for a child's exaggeration of their mistake." supplied Nezu. In secret, he already felt the winds at their backs with what he suspected was to come. "The Sports festival will be a time where the competition may affect his perspective. I believe this is where he will learn to correct himself."
"...I can only hope your right like always."
Meanwhile at Dagobah Beach
"Alright little junior, Mr. Yagi said you came with a couple different kinks. What's the big reason for special training with us three?" asked Mirio, still smiling from the light air of the beach.
That and I mean...how the hell does one not smile after running their hands through something that fluffy!
Hado was completely devoid of urgency and focused her attention on the bed of Izuku's fluff green clouds. Her legs were alternating in an excited skip. Midoriya would say she's probably overreacting about his hair, but to this day, people will not stop bugging him about his curls once they take notice.
"W-Well, how do put this as casually as possible. I...have a second quirk." Izuku pursed his lips and stared, finding their reaction understand.
Their eyes were wide until Togata spoke up for them again. "Yeah, that is kinda hard to make casual. Still, that's awesome! You've got double POWAAAA!" Still keeping up s grin, Midoriya sweatdropped and wondered if that was just his thing or he was doing that on purpose.
Much to the other two's elation. Tamaki plucked up with a question to start their training. "...Well, we should probably figure out how this new quirk of yours works. There has to be some basics already, do you know them, Midoriya?"
"I a-actually have an idea about how it works, I just don't how it to use it." Izuku looked at his hands and as he thought, he still couldn't pinpoint a feeling or sensation to grab at.
"Let's make a run down of our quirks. Mine's called surge, I create shockwaves from vitality and store it for other stuff. I can fly and a bunch of other cool stuff."
"...It's a start I guess. My quirk is called manifest, I can adopt the features of whatever I've eaten." Tamaki mutated his hand into a giant chicken talon, shrinking as Izuku unnervingly watched with admiration and stars in his eyes.
"Finally, my quirk is permeation. It requires a lot of fine tuning to control in specific areas, but the gist is that I can pass through solid objects."
It then clicked for him, why these three seemed to have a powerful air to them. Midoriya began to review what he had learned so far about them, and the names were all he needed.
"W-Wait, the skill you've shown. Your names..." Izuku's eyes nearly leapt of their sockets, he figured it out. "Y-You're U.A's Big Three."
"BUSTEEED! Yep, that us. Hahaha." Mirio didn't seem apprehensive in the slightest about being figured out.
After some details and more pleasantries were exchanged, they returned to the matter at hand. Since Mythos was to be used at a certain point in the festival and he decided to train on his own time, he decided to simply inform them of One For All. The explanation was patchy at best, he'd have to find more solid ground to deflate any suspicious.
"The quirk I need help with is called Stockpile, a kind of enhancer. I access a pool of raw power that's been amounted to a certain to degree, how much and how to use or gauge it is unknown to me."
Despite Nejire having been the most oblivious of the three, she gave sound advice. "How about I demonstrate my quirk while aiming at the water. We can try and help you use your power once I give you a good idea about my activation."
"That's a-a good idea actually. I'm not sure what I'm capable of." With his confirmation, the trio of boys observed the water to their side.
The idol-worthy gal raised her arms in front of her, the sand beginning to twirl around her ankles a little. In one big effort, Hado's forearms were enveloped by yellow waves that sparkled with specks of fluorescent white. She built up her power in one go and released a devastating blast.
"Output level 30...GRING WAVE!!" Her bubbly excitement was a huge contrast to power that the assaulted waters.
While Tamaki and Mirio were obviously impressed, they didn't seem surprised about her strength. Midoriya on the other hand expected her to be as amazing as her looks, but he was starry-eyed from the display. She was definitely an attractive girl, so she obviously had to be taken in Midoriya's thoughts.
He pitted the man foolish enough to cheat on her.
"Woah...THAT WAS AMAZING HADO! You could easily counteract so many precision attacks. Constant propulsion at a weaker level could hinder falling debris and maybe even stabilize it in the air. You could maybe invert the flow and-" Without realizing it, the quirk inheritor revved up his unusual tick.
Amajiki sweatdropped for not knowing what to do. He was going to go against his better judgement and snap him out of his reverie, a hand from Mirio made him stop however. The blonde senior pointed towards their third clique member and the unusual muttering soon became an amiable trait.
Nejire was not ignorant about how she could be a bit of a handful at times, her curiosity being insatiable. Her two best friends were some of the few who could handle her or keep her in check. A tenderness took her chest when a kinship came between her and the mutter storm, Izuku still being deep his version of Hado's curiosity.
'He's like me, heeheehee.'
He stopped his nonsensical word vomit, freezing as he felt and caught the Big Three's amused stares. "I started muttering didn't I!? I seriously apologize, ididn'tmeantoI'msorrypleasedontthinkimacreep-"
"Woah buddy relax," laughed the permeation user. "I actually find it pretty impressive. You've managed to find more uses for Neji's quirk than all three of us have in less than an hour of meeting us."
"Hehehe, I thinks it's time to show use your quirk Midoriya." Nejire was practically bouncing in excitement.
After reigning in the moment, he stepped up to the same spot where Hado was and concentrated. Still, he could not see anything different, nothing he could see or hear. Only the howl of Mythos wrung inside his being.
He thought maybe he was just distracted from the happiness of the moment before, but he couldn't tell because of the warm feeling in him. The more he felt and thought about it, Izuku began to believe it wasn't a feeling. The warmth made him feel tingly in an exhilarating way, the pulsing flow ebbing in his core.
He realised this wasn't an emotional issue, it was One For All itself, calling to him. Being a quirk, Midoriya did the only sensible thing he could think of when feeling a power within. With his eyes still closed, he pulled on the warmth and quickly dropped his approach.
The sudden rush to his body had surprised him, he hadn't expected the quirk to jumpstart everything. Easily, that was a good 10% of its power and it felt like his blood was the most concentrated energy drink in the world. When he opened his eyes, they widened as within seconds, something happened that pleased everyone.
Red veins began to overlap his skin and a light hue of orange enveloped it soon after. Soon, his entire right arm was glowing, a quick burst of green lightning jumped from his flesh. The raw energy of the generational quirk kicked up the sands, Midoriya was just standing and already was creating a massive swirl of wind pressure.
The big three all had smiles on their faces but were struggling to keep themselves from being tripped up a little. Nejire was squealing from excitement as always and watched very closely. Midoriya's own grin got bigger and bigger, One For All was finally flowing through him like his own power.
"Aaalright Izu-bro, LET A RIP!!" cheered Togata.
Izuku ignited blazes in his green eyes and cocked back his fist for a punch, it just felt so right and so good. His Idol's power was intoxicating to every fiber in his arm, he steadied his feet and prepared. There was going to be recoil but who cares, right?
"SMAAAAAASH!!"
*BOOM* *Fwoosh*
One For All's unrestrained power tore through the ocean, leaving a trail of obliteration. The big three could easily say this kid was gonna go far. He had a long road ahead of him to hone his skills but he could make it.
"AAAARGH!!"
The first of the trio to notice the reason for Midoriya's pained scream ran for him, Nejire immediately held on to him and layed him down as collapsed on to his knees. All eyes turned to his purple arm as strands of blood trickled from various cuts, the mangled limb sat still on Hado's lap. He grunted and elicited pained groans as he tried to gain some ardor against the throbbing sensation.
Yep. A very, very long road.
Yaoyorozu flung shuriken after shuriken at her practice targets, beads of sweat rolled down her temple as she did. Her training for the sports festival was the only thing directing her high for the dormitories. She was going to get to live on her own with Izuk-
Friends. On her own and with friends...
Yeah.
She sighed in exasperation, the move in was killing her with anticipation. The idea of finally having some independence, albeit with some supervision from Ryukyu, was an experience she had wanted for a long time.
She wasn't ungrateful for everything her family did, but it was sometimes too much for even the simplest things. From her own chef's and trainers to tailors and hair stylists, nearly all tasks were done for her. With the boarding policy and design of U.A, she could finally live like a normal girl and try new things.
And then...then there was Izuku. A long decade of being apart had somewhat fermented a longing for him, even if she had only met him for one day. That little act of playing as a kid and not being a rich girl was one of the happiest days of her life, and it's not like a child could comprehend such emotional importance without some innocent ignorance. To Momo, it meant that meeting him the way she did, with Midoriya stopping three bullies for her, was something she truly could cherish.
A small part of her was teasing the idea that she might like him, and another was saying it was just hero syndrome. Yaoyorozu wasn't sure about either so it was best to just leave it for now. She apparently had been standing still too long in thought that her mother had in fact stopped to eye her.
"Oh, what am I going to do?" mumbled Momo to herself.
"You could talk to your mother for starters."
Momo turned to meet a woman who she clearly took as she was practically the spitting image of a grown up her. The differences was her hair had auburn color to it rather than black, her skin was just a tad bit creamier, and her eyes were a deep blue. She smiled at the house matriarch and recieved one in return.
"Sorry mother, just lost in thought over little things."
"When it comes to my daughter, nothing is a little thing and I can already tell what it is your dealing with." she paced over and wrapped her arms around Momo.
"It's about the dormitories, isn't it? I understand if you're nervous but you can always tell me when you need something."
"Then can I ask you something, mother?" She shuffled nervously in the women's embrace before looking up.
"Anything dear."
"How do you know when you like someone?"
At the U.A Dormitories
Once Izuku had calmed down his mother and assured her frequent visits, and the fact that she worked at U.A now, he finally managed to make for the dorms. It seemed he was the least excessive with his possessions, if the twelve boxes labeled 'bed' were anything to go by. His only two suitcases were filled with the basic necessities of a room, all his heavier furniture had been moved in earlier on announcement.
After dropping his things off at the door, he made his way over to the couch to rest. So many thoughts weighed on his kind, most of it having to do with the new responsibility of One For All. He still couldn't believe he was the All Might's chosen successor.
Had he known this to be the case for his future, he would've told his younger self everything about it. As a whole, much of his life had been spent in misery and self doubt. When it all came down to it, he could only blame it on his quirk, Mythos.
When All Might told him he could be a hero on that day, he didn't realize just how much he still needed to hear those words, even when he was already in the midst of training to be one. Throught battles, the miracles he called friends, and the mild acceptance of his power, it all felt so confusing yet clear at the same time to Izuku. When he saw the wonder and camaraderie in his friends, especially at the U.S.J, the answer fell into place.
He didn't love himself.
Whether it was the hate and fear of his quirk or the dimension of uselessness he saw himself in, Izuku Midoriya was just someone he'd rather not be. Knowing that his quirkless status was but a rouse, Izuku still took in the fact that all his personal struggles made him weak. It was hard to accept anything happening to him because of that.
Toshinori's words had made it impossible to look at life the same, and it was good. Mythos was going to be difficult to settle with, but it was his quirk and he promised the Symbol Of Peace that he'd do his best. Midoriya felt as though now was finally the day his as quirk became a hero's quirk.
"Oh? I didn't expect someone to be here already." said a sultry voice from the elevator.
When Midoriya looked over, he spotted Midnight wearing casual clothing. She had revealing black lacy crop top and white low-rise leggings with black boots. The outfit would have made him blush if it hadn't been for the surprise of her being there. The R-rated heroine sauntered over with a smile, happy to see one of her secretly favorite students.
"Ms.Midnight, W-What are you doing here?"
"Came down to check and make sure the classes each found the correct buildings to move into. You, lovely?~"
Midoriya's appropriate blush finally surfaced on his face all the way from his neck. The adoring nickname plus the noticing of her outfit didn't help, but he still answered. Let it be known that as a teenage boy, he still struggled to kick out the images of home stuffing his face in between her assets...either of them really.
"I-I-I w-was just taking a b-break." squeaked Midoriya.
"So I take it you've already moved in?"
"Yes ma'am, I just need to bring up the three suitcases to my room." Izuku gestured to the small luggage bags at the entrance.
"That's good to hear..." Kayama's smile had a tiny falter in it for a moment, something that Midoriya noticed. "Well, I'll leave you to it. Goodbye sweetie~."
She was nearly at the door when her wrist suddenly felt warm. Turning back, she found Midoriya's concerned eyes looking at her. She could barely hide it from even the more dense colleagues and friends, she wasn't exactly getting past a bright mind like Izuku's.
"Ms.Kayama...I'm just a kid, so I probably won't understand, but you can talk to me if something's wrong."
Deep down, Midoriya didn't know what on god's green Earth compelled him to offer comfort when he probably wouldn't be able to take in an adult's problems. However, he was a hero in training, so maybe he could understand some part of it. No guts no glory.
"I'd...I'd like that, actually." Nemuri gave a gentle, yet sad smile.
After taking a seat, there was an awkward silence between them. Neither knew how to start the impromptu therapy session, they were both in the dark about how a child could help an adult. Izuku began picking up confidence as it was him who offered in the first place, it still didn't make it comfortable.
"I-Is-"
"I'm sorry." Interrupted Midnight.
As baffled as his face said he was, Kayama continued in hopes of maybe getting the difficulties of her world straight.
"I'm sorry, it's just...I'm not sure how to not come across as ungrateful or shortsighted." said Midnight.
Midoriya smiled kindly at her, and inside, he kind of had an angle at what she was thinking about. The expression and silence signaled her to continue with more encouragement.
"You can probably guess that as a pro hero, it's hard to have a love life. Considering my whole gimmick, one would think I'd probably be a little less than decent when it comes to that. The sad reality of it is that a hero's world is a hard one to find that in, and the U.S.J only cemented my current thoughts that came from this."
In most situations, the emerald powerhouse would've been uncomfortable when the topic of her relationship status came up. He was NOT the guy you came for in search of help for this kind of thing, yet it was how crestfallen she sounded that kept him sincere and focused. It honestly surprised him that an honest gem of a woman was lacking in that department.
At 31 years of age, she had the looks of a 25 year old model. He didn't know her personally of course, though he'd stand his ground when saying that she was a wonderful person for the kind of life she loved. Her final words was what mixed this reaction with concern.
"What do you mean, Ms Kayama?" The worry from the beginning, stacked with his current feeling, surfaced on his face.
"I-" Her voice was shaky and was audibly more distressed. "I don't think being a hero was ever for me."
Midoriya looked saddened at her confession. He honestly couldn't fathom a single year of his time in U.A without the sensual themed heroine.
"I've tried actively having a love life and it just seems like there isn't a man who really thinks much of me. I know I was asking for that kind of audience when choosing my gimmick but my looks seem to be the only thing I am, I've never met anyone aside form my colleagues who thinks I'm really trying to do good. Then...the U.S.J attack happened."
Her face became even more downtrodden, and from her reasoning she had every right to feel like that. However, Izuku also saw the flip side.
"It was already hard to look at myself and continue to be convinced that I'm a hero. The public doesn't seem to think so, so how could I? I couldn't stop the invasion from happening and as a hero, I should have suspected more from that break in the day before. I know that many of the students are probably hiding their hate for me, I'd understand it though. I can't forgive myself either."
"...I wouldn't forgive you either. For giving up and proving them right, that is."
Midnight lifted her head with a tearful wince, only for her eyes to widen when she saw Midoriya's own look of dismay.
"The U.S.J was an ambush, Ms. Kayama. There was no way you could've anticipated an attack that they admittedly covered well. Even the teachers running the whole exercise and had strong suspicions were caught off guard, you can't blame yourself for that." Kayama's face didn't change, unsure on how to feel about his logic.
"Believe me when I say that you are everything I can see right now. If anything, the men who can't see past your looks are shortsighted, not you for looking for someone who's worth it." Izuku's face became stern and he stood up, looking down and over at the R-rated heroine. "In fact, you should have those standards. You're 31 and most women would kill to have your gorgeous glow, the men who didn't know any better should be in prostration, begging for chance."
The outburst of her looks and even using the age card in reverse, knowing its usual disastrous results, caused her to genuinely blush. Despite what her suggestive personality would say, being remarked on her beauty without a hint of perversion was refreshing. She felt even more flattered by his comments towards her previous attempts at relationships.
"What they missed out on wasn't just what made you a worthwhile love, but an amazing person as well..." Izuku sighed both sadly and dreamily before continuing, as the next field of conversation hit a lot closer to home, looking down in melancholy. "And that amazing person is why you're a hero to me."
A sharp intake of breathe was a sign that he'd broken through, he was determined to see it further in. "I always admired All Might and his smile, I held him to such a godlike degree that my nerd outs for him could be seen as insane." chuckled Izuku, which also elicited one from his focus.
"Still, that didn't mean that I thought any less of the other heroes. I always thought it was inspiring and remarkable to help someone, I've never seen anything else so cool...People with the most ordinary of lives can be heroes if they just did the right thing. Your gimmick is a dominatrix, I can understand the ogling, once again referring to your bonus beauty. However, I admired you because the breathtaking human being that can be as equally great as a lover, is also the hero I looked up to as a kid."
Kayama was silently crying, words she had longed for were finally spoken to her. Midoriya was only a child, but he was a child whose already put himself on the line for others. She could finally see why is it she had such an interest in him since the entrance exam.
The boy in front of her had portrayed in her everything she saw in him. He was kind, strong, and selfless. All these traits made her look out for him because she wanted to be that too, not knowing that, according Izuku, she already was.
"If you quite, I understand. But if not a hero, than be you. Stay and teach us how to be amazing like you."
It was at that moment that Izuku looked up to see a sweetly smiling, teary eyed Nemuri Kayama. At the same time, Midnight decided that she wouldn't quit, at least just to see the little cinnamon bun grow. In one fast movement, she sprang forth and brought him into a deep hug.
Normally, with his lower face in her bosom and the provocative outfit, Midoriya would be a steaming human boiler. Given the situation and moment however, he didn't care and he embraced her back. The warmth of one melting into the other, it became a feeling neither wanted to end.
"Tatsuma was right, you are a sweetheart."
Izuku continued to ignore everything that could scream wrong about the situation, but it was to nice to stop. And maybe, just maybe...
He needed this too...
I'm gonna try and get back into the swing of things so for I'm begging you...PLEASE LEAVE REVIEWS, I NEED THE ENCOURAGEMENT(Constructive ones are definitely welcomed)
Anywho, keep a lookout for my new story on wattpad to come soon. It'll be quite the unexpected crossover. Hope Kayama and Midoriya's talk made sense and the grammar wasn't as horrible as usual (though I suspect a specific word is used to often), I usually do three segments but I really want to finish the first chapter of my new story and move onto the next part of the script. Love you all and I hope I can continue.
