It was a beautiful exciting day in Southampton, England, on April 10th, in the year 1912. RMS Titanic, the largest said-to-be "unsinkable" ship in the world had her first boarding passengers from there to New York City, America. People all over town embraced the passengers who were lucky enough to get her tickets with tearful goodbyes on the pier. Those already onboard the ship smiled and waved down to their dearest friends and loved ones.

Meanwhile, in a pub across from all the excitement and boarding on Titanic, a serious game of poker was on between four men. Two Swedish brothers, Olaf and Sven, against twenty-year-old handsome American fellow, Jack Dawson, and his Italian friend, Fabrizio De Rossi. Peeking her head over Jack's shoulder behind him, was his eleven-year-old sister, Annie.

Jack and Annie had the closest bond with each other more than anyone else in the world. Since their parents died in a fire years back, Jack raised Annie under his care, giving her all the love and support he had for his little sister. They were best friends, and did everything together. Including traveling around the world. They met Fabrizio De Rossi in Italy, whom they befriended and let tag along with them on their travels. Now, was the biggest opportunity for them to win this poker game and something big that Sven had betted them on; two third-class tickets to Titanic, plus one extra. The perfect chance for Jack and Annie to board the ship home to America at last.

Annie enjoyed watching and playing poker games with her brother, but this one was going on forever, making her anxious. She was beginning to get to not being able to take it any longer. The one thing Annie was praying for, was those tickets to Titanic. She looked out the pub window, smiling at the beauty of the ship where she stood.

I'd give anything to get on that beautiful large boat, Annie thought to herself. But her smile faded as her focus went back to the game. It's gonna take a miracle to win this game.

Olaf and Sven were personally arguing with each other. But since they were speaking in Swedish language, Annie couldn't understand what they were saying.

"Jack," Fabrizio spoke to Jack. "You are pazzo (crazy). You bet everything we have."

Jack took a cigarette out of his mouth, puffing out smoke. "When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose," he replied.

Annie glanced down at Jack's cards.

Still nothing.

Olaf and Sven continued to argue in Swedish, making Annie curious to know what they were saying.

"What are they saying, Jack?" she whispered.

"Shh," Jack shushed her. He went back to the game. "Sven?"

Sven placed a card down, with Jack doing the same. They traded.

Annie did nothing but watch as the game continued. She hopelessly watched as Jack picked up another card. Once he added it to his others, Annie's anxious frown turned into a large beam of enthusiasm. She let out a small gasp of excitement.

Jack shushed her again, indicating that he wanted to surprise Fabrizio. Annie winked at him, and did her best to hide her reaction, secretly grinning down at the tickets.

Just then, the whistle blow came from Titanic again. The final warning for people to board the ship.

"All right," said Jack. "Moment of truth. Somebody's life's about to change. Fabrizio?"

Fabrizio set his cards down.

"Niente (nothing)," Jack said.

"Niente," Fabrizio admitted.

"Olaf?" Jack to Olaf.

Olaf set his cards down.

"Nothing. Sven?" Jack turned to Sven.

Sven set his cards down. Nothing but a two pair.

Jack raised his eyebrows. "Uh-oh. Two pair." He turned to Fabrizio. "I'm sorry, Fabrizio."

"Che sorry? Ma vaffanculo (fuck you)! You bet all our money!" Fabrizio yelled. He seemed ready to kill Jack.

"I'm sorry," Jack said calmly. "You're not gonna see your mom again for a long time."

Fabrizio was confused. Especially when he noticed Annie trying to hide the enormous grin on her face.

"Cause we're going to America!" Jack blurted out. He slammed his cards on the table. "Full house, boys!"

Jack, Annie, and Fabrizio exploded into great excitement with their winnings.

Everyone in the pub turned their attention to the group, surprised by the loud noise. But neither of the three seemed to care.

Fabrizio happily snatched the tickets up. "Dio mio, grazie (My God, thank you)!"

Annie danced around with joy while Jack started to collect their winnings. Until Olaf grabbed him by the shirt. Annie stopped dancing when she saw her brother in trouble, shocked and quite frightened by this.

Olaf cursed in Swedish. He put his fist up, ready to strike Jack, who braced himself for impact.

Annie cringed, covering her eyes.

But Olaf swung around, sending his fist into Sven's face instead.

Peeking through her fingers, Annie sighed of relief and put her hands down.

Like the crowd, Jack laughed at the Swedish men as they continued cursing and fighting with each other. Jack turned to Annie and Fabrizio. "Come on!"

"Figlio diputtana (Son of a bitch)!" shouted Fabrizio.

Jack grabbed the tickets and kissed them. "I'm going home!" He said happily as he hugged Fabrizio.

Jack then turned to Annie, sweeping her up off her feet and swung her around as he hugged her, too.

Annie laughed, completely over-excited by her brother's victory.

"We're going home!" Jack beamed at Annie, as he put her down.

"Yes!" Annie returned his beam. She hugged him again.

"I go to America!" said Fabrizio.

"No mate." The pub-keeper spoke up to them.

The celebration died down as the three looked at the pub-keeper. "Titanic off to America in five minutes." He warned, pointing to the clock behind him.

Annie's eyes widened at that. "What?!"

"Shit!" exclaimed Jack. "Come on! Come on, here!" He held out a bag.

Fabrizio scooped up their winnings and dropped them into the bag. "Andiamo (Here we go)!"

Annie knelt down to pick up the items that were dropped, and added them to the bag as well.

Jack, Annie, and Fabrizio sprinted out on the streets to the ship entrance.

"We're riding in high-style now!" Jack said as they ran. "We're a couple of regular swells. Practically goddamn royalty miei amici (my friends)!"

Fabrizio agreed. "You see, it's my destino (destiny)! Like I told you, I go to America to be millionario (millionaire)!"

The trio nearly ran into some horses pulling a carriage.

"Bastardo (bastard)!" Fabrizio said to them.

"Sorry!" Annie apologized to the people riding the carriage. She continued on with Jack and Fabrizio.

"You're pazzo!" Fabrizio told Jack once more.

"Maybe, but I've got the tickets!" said Jack.

Annie sped up past the boys, gazing at Titanic. She couldn't believe this was really happening to them. After traveling from town to town for months, she decided that this was a perfect way to end her trip with Jack around the world for awhile. And they deserved it, too.

"Aspetta, Annie! Aspetta (Wait up)!" Fabrizio called after her.

"I warned you, she's a fast runner!" Jack told him. "Anyways, I thought you were fast!"

At last, the three arrived at the ramp to the third-class gangway entrance.

Flushed and panting, Jack waved their tickets in the air. "Whoa! Wait, wait!" he shouted. "Hey wait! We're passengers! Passengers!"

The trio ran up the ramp to Sixth Officer James Paul Moody, who was standing at the entrance on ticket duty. Looking at their tickets, Officer Moody said to them, "Have you been through the inspection queue?"

No, Annie realized. Since they were in a big hurry, they had no time for a proper check up before boarding the ship. Especially since they won the tickets over Olaf and Sven, they didn't actually purchase them for themselves. Still, she wanted more than anything to board Titanic.

"Of course!" Jack lied. "Anyway, we don't have any lice. We're Americans. Three of us." He motioned himself, Annie, and Fabrizio.

Annie didn't like having to lie. But this was now or never for her and Jack to return home to America. So she played along, nodding her head and smiled innocently.

Officer Moody nodded. "Right. Come aboard."

With that, Jack, Annie, and Fabrizio hopped onboard the third-class hallways of the ship. Annie was so grateful they had made it, just as she heard the doors close behind them.

"We're the luckiest sons of bitches in the world! You know that?" Jack happily told Fabrizio.

"What is a bitch, anyway?" Annie asked curiously.

Jack quickly realized the way he was speaking. Especially in front of his little sister. With Annie asking what those words meant, he did not want people to view him a bad influence on her. "Don't say that word, bitch, Annie," he simply told her.

"I didn't say it. You did," said Annie, smirking.

Jack sighed annoyed, shaking his head. "Well, you can't."

The final whistle blow came again, indicating Titanic was now setting sail. Crew members untied the ropes which kept Titanic to deck, and threw them down into the water.

Jack, Annie, and Fabrizio reached the top of the deck.

Jack leaned over the railing on the starboard side, waving to the people as Titanic began to set off. "Goodbye!" he shouted.

Annie and Fabrizio looked at him puzzled.

"You know somebody?" Fabrizio asked.

"Of course not. That's not the point," Jack answered. He continued to giving out pointless goodbyes. "Goodbye, I'll miss you!"

Shrugging, Annie and Fabrizio joined in.

"Goodbye! I will never forget you!" Fabrizio joyfully yelled.

Annie blew a kiss and waved down to the people remaining on the pier. They had been on Titanic for nearly two minutes, and yet, they were already having a blast.

In no time at all, the propellers were spinning away. Titanic had began to make her way out, passing by smaller boats as she sailed out into open water ahead.

After Titanic had set sail into the horizon, all the cheering had died down. Jack, Annie, and Fabrizio went to look for their room in the crowded hallway of third-class. The hall was a narrow corridor with doors lining both sides across from each other like college dorms. Jack read-over their room number as they pushed past people, who argued over their luggage in several different languages or just wandered the hallway in confusion.

Jack glanced at one of the rooms, finally finding their number. "Oh, right here," he said, opening the door. He went inside with Annie and Fabrizio behind him.

The room was nothing much. Just a couple of bunk beds, a dresser, and a small window. Other than that, it was good enough for the three. Two other men were in the room as well.

"Hey," Jack friendly greeted one of the men, shaking his hand. "How you doing? Jack. Nice to meet you." He shook the other man's hand. "I'm Jack Dawson, nice to meet you. How you doing? My sister, Annie," he introduced Annie to the men.

Annie gave a friendly wave.

Jack and Annie set their kits on two open lower bunks. Fabrizio climbed onto one of the top bunks, lying down on it.

"Who says you get top bunk? Huh?" Jack asked. He playfully tackled Fabrizio.

Annie laughed to herself. Then she went back to her bunk to unpack. Jack doing the same.

"Where's Sven?" One of the men asked the other. In Swedish language, of course.

This was going to be the best trip Jack and Annie would ever have of their lives.
