Chapter 6 Put them together again part 2

(Ikuto's pov)

I was surprised when Amu pulled me to her and kissed me. I pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around her and deepened the kiss. After a few minutes, she pulled away.

"Sorry Ikuto" she said quietly. "I didn't mean to cross boundaries. I just wanted you to know that even you hate me that I love you."

"Amu, I don't hate you" I told her as I buried my head into her neck. "I love you. I should have never listened to my dad"

There was a soft knock on the door, and I saw Nagi poke his head through the door.

"Amu?" Nagi asked quietly. "Why? Why would you do that?" he asked her crying. "I know that he hurt you, but I love you too you know" he continued walking to her bed.

"Nagi, I know you do. I love you as well. But you have Rima and she will never accept me and that doesn't matter to me anymore" Amu told him just as quietly.

"Wait" I asked them both. "Are you two a couple now? What do you mean to love each other?

"No Ikuto" Nagi said with venom in his voice. "We are not a couple, nor will we ever be. You promised that you loved her, but you failed. It's because you broke her. You made her destroy herself from the inside out. I was forced watched it. I couldn't help her" he said as he started crying. "I watched as her parents gave up on her. I watched her friends cursed her to die early. I watched you abandon her!" he yelled at me.

"Nagi" Amu said. "It's okay, you don't have to do this."

"No Amu, I do" Nagi responded. "Ikuto, I will always love Amu and she will always love you. I'll let you have one more chance with her, but if you break her one more time, compared to me, a dragon will look like your best friend. Do you understand me?" he asked me with anger and hatred in his eyes.

"Yes Nagi, I do" I told him. "I'm sorry you had to care for her. I won't allow her to get hurt because of me again. I promise."

I watched as Nagi walked to Amu and hugged her. They both started crying and I could tell that the threat Nagi gave wasn't a threat. It was a promise.

"Thank you Nagi for caring for her" I said with my hand out to him.

"I did it for her, not you. But you are welcome" he said and shook my hand.

Amu, Nagi nor I noticed when Utau, Kukai and the rest of the group walked in. I guess it was a while ago because a short blonde was fuming and glaring at Amu.

"Hi everyone" I said and the all said hi back except for Rima.

"Amu did you just steal my boyfriend?" Rima asked Amu. "Do you think that is the best way to make me like you again?" she asked in anger and tears running down her face.

"No Rima, I stole no one" she responded. "Nagi is the one who helped me. He kept me going and yes, he loves me. But he also loves you. I love Ikuto. The person you told me to give up on. And quite frankly, I don't care if you ever like me again. We used to be best friends but now I don't care. You can leave Rima" she said looking at her.

Rima got up slowly and walked out the door crying angry tears.

"I'm sorry Nagi" Amu said. "I know I just severed any bridge to be friends again, but I refuse to be friends with her if that is the way she wants to behave."

"I know, it's okay Amu" Nagi told her and sat next to Kukai. "I'll deal with her later. You're more important anyway" he said smiling at. Then he looked at me, "Keep your promise Ikuto" he said.

"Well, this is fun" Kukai said and Utau elbowed him in the stomach. "Ouch, sorry"

After a few hours everything turned into normal conversation. But I never told the rest of the group they were my friends again. In addition, my parents never showed up to see if I was okay. I didn't care. I wasn't planning on staying with them anymore anyway.

"Ikuto, do you know where you are staying?" Amu asked me.

"No, I figured I would just crash on your floor" I said smiling.

"Ikuto, I told my parents I would be out tomorrow, so I have to get to the house and take down my pictures of you before my parents destroy them.

"I'll do it Amu" Nagi said.

"We will help" Utau said grabbing Kukai's hand. They got up and left Tadase and Yaya left as well, and we were left alone.

"Ikuto, I know your upset at Nagi, but please understand, he really did care for me" she said.

"Do you love him?" I asked her in pain in my eyes.

"Yes, I do, but I love you as well. The way I love Nagi is a brother and someone I can always count on" she told me. Then she took my hand in hers, "The way I love you is the way I would love my husband" she told me then kissed me again.

***one week later***

After I left Amu in her room, I helped Nagi, Utau and Kukai love all her belongings from her room and into a storage unit. I found a house with three bedrooms and started renting it with the option to buy later. I moved Amu's things from the unit to the house and set up a room for her.

"Hi Amu, you are ready to go home?" I asked her. She smiled and said yes.

As we drove to our new house, she noticed a bunch of cars in around the driveway.

"Ikuto, what's going on?" she asked me.

"Well, your friends and I threw you a welcome home party. I hope you don't mind" I told her.

"No, I don't mind, I am happy that you're back. I can't wait to see Nagi, Kukai and Utau. You are the only family I have now. Thank you Ikuto" she said while smiling.

When I walked into the house, I saw that Rima was there and so were my parents along with Ami. "Um, not that I'm not happy to see you, but why are you here?" she asked them.

"We know that you were staying true to your love, Amu. I am sorry for what we did" Midori said.

"I know, and right now I don't see you as my family. If you want to be family then you need to earn it. Will you three except that?" she asked her parents. They agreed and Ami hugged Amu.

"Please don't do that again Amu-nee, don't leave me like that" Ai said crying. "I only acted cold because Mama and Papa told me too. I love you Amu" then she hugged her and refused to let go.

"I wont Ami. I love you too" she hugged her back let go.

"Amu" Rima said.

"Yes?" Amu responded.

"I know that Nagi loves you, and I know you love him. I know you won't take him from me, but he may still leave me" Rima explained. "He told me that if I treated you like that again that we would be done. I won't do that again. But I do have one question for you."

"Yes?" Amu said.

"Did he really help you shower?" Rima asked like it was nothing. The whole room gasped and went silent. Ikuto stared at Nagi and Nagi just stared at Rima with his mouth open.

"Rima!" he yelled at her.

"What I have a right to know!" she countered back.

"Amu, you don't have to answer" Nagi said coming up to me. "I know Nagi, you helped me more than anyone. Thank you" Amu told him and kissed his cheek.

My anger was ignited but I knew that I had no right to be angry. I wasn't here for her when she needed me, and he was.

"Yes Rima, he did" Amu stated. "But as you recall, he used to be a girl and he saw us both when we were younger. He may have seen me, but he gave no notice. He just saw the cuts, burns, bruises and scars. He was professional about the whole situation. And if you can't understand that, then you aren't ready for a serious relationship" Amu said without blinking.

"Now, if this is a party, can we get to celebrating please?" she asked everyone in the room.

(Amu's pov)

Everyone in the house started talking and soon everyone was okay and the question that Rima asked was forgotten. My parents understood and Nagi was able to hug me without people thinking weird things.

After 4 hours the party ended and I went to bed knowing that even though my road to healing was going to be hard, this time I wasn't alone. I had Ikuto back. I had Nagi, Kukai and Utau forever and the rest of my friends would be okay. They would earn back my trust and would my parents.

Ikuto and I were broken but together we fixed each other. And we both had support that we both forgot we had. Together we would be okay. It would not be tomorrow, and it may not be in a month, but hey, Rome wasn't built in one day either.
