Kakashi groaned as he heard the blaring of an alarm. Successfully smashing the poor clock once more, he rolled out of bed and onto the floor. He had been awoken from a dream, and that thoroughly pissed him off. He had been having dreams more often recently. Not to mention the dream was about Naruto-sensei. He blushed as he remembered the events of the dream.
Naruto-sensei had brought him Ichiraku's and given him a rose, and after they had left he gave him a kiss. He shook his head as he grabbed a tiny notebook from his bedside table. It was his dream journal given to him by Naruto-sensei. He had given this to Kakashi after he had told him that he started having dreams. Naruto had smiled at him and brought him to a nearby store and bought it for him, saying, "you should keep a dream journal, 'Kashi! It's fun remembering your dreams! Besides, if you're bored you can read through it!" Kakashi had mumbled a thank you to his sensei. That was a week ago, and he had a dream every night since them.
Gingerly flipping through the few pages of the journal, he felt a twinge of pink on his cheeks as he noticed that his sensei had been in all of them. He read through the first entry, seeing that Naruto-sensei had asked him out in this dream. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears, and his skin felt on fire as he read more. Before he could get to the good part, he heard a knock on his window and jumped straight up. Whipping his head up, he was met with a pair of startling blue eyes glinting with amusement.
Kakashi felt his blush grow more and more blood rush to his face. His sensei opened the window and clambered in, landing gracelessly on his floor in a heap. "Well well well, if it isn't my little genin looking through that journal I bought him," his sensei laughed, sounding like a narrator.
Kakashi looked away, slightly embarrassed. This only caused him to laugh even more as he scooted next to Kakashi. "You've been keeping up with it," he mused. Kakashi looked at him with a startled look, "wha-?" He started but was cut off by his sensei's laughter. "Don't worry, Kakashi! I didn't read anything, I just noticed how many pages had been flipped out!" Kakashi felt a wave of relief wash over him, if his sensei read what he dreamt about he would be thoroughly disgusted. "Unless..." his sensei said, suddenly sounding serious.
His blood ran cold, "unless there's something bad in there. Like everyone being massacred." He could suddenly breathe again, once more glad for his sensei being so dense. "No, sensei. Nobody's being massacred..." 'except for me...' he left unsaid. His heart rate picked up, hoping his sensei wouldn't notice that he suddenly stopped breathing and his face looked like a tomato.
His sensei smiled at him and stood from his spot on the floor next to Kakashi. Kakashi felt disappointed and bit back a sigh as he felt his sense's unusually warm body leave from next to him. The more he thought about it, his sensei was kind of like a human radiator. Shaking those thoughts from his head, he looked up at his sensei, "what are you doing here sensei? I thought we didn't have any training today?"
His sensei grinned and sat down on his bed, "no, we don't. I'm just bored because granny Tsunade said I need to rest, so I just came here." Kakashi looked at him quizzically, "why did you choose to come here? Why not anywhere else?" His sensei put on a hurt face and brought his hand to his heart, "Kakashi, are you trying to tell me you don't want me here?" He said in a fake hurt tone. Kakashi felt his face flame red, "no! That's not what I meant! I swear, I'm sorry sensei."
Naruto-sensei patted his head, "I know Kakashi, I'm just teasing you." he laughed, "I came here because I don't think we hang out enough! We need quality bonding time, I'd say!" Kakashi gave him a dubious look, 'bonding time? L-like what kind of bonding?' He thought as he felt flames dance beneath his skin.
Naruto gave him a blinding smile and held out his hand to him. Kakashi stared at the offered hand for a second, before taking it and Naruto-sensei hauled him to his feet. "So, 'Kashi, have you eaten yet today?" His sensei asked him. Kakashi shook his head slowly. "well, it's your lucky day! I've been told that I'm a great cook, so you just sit back and I'll make what I can with what ingredients you have." Kakashi thanked him and sat down on his bed.
"Uh, Kakashi?" He heard Naruto call from the small kitchen-like area. "Hm?" He responded. "You have basically no ingredients I can cook a meal with, I'm sorry to say." His sensei informed him. Kakashi watched as his sensei closed one of the cupboards and looked at him apologetically, and the look pulled at his heartstrings. "Ah, I'm sorry sensei. I haven't had time to grocery shop in a while." He explained quickly.
His sensei's grin returned immediately, as he walked over to Kakashi and grabbed his elbow, hauling him to his feet. Kakashi felt blood rush to his face as he looked up as his sensei's face, trying to ignore how close they were right now. "Sensei?" He inquired softly. His sensei looked down at him and his grin widened, and he released his elbow and put some space between the two. Ignoring the disappointment coursing through him, he looked to his sensei.
"Well, I have plenty of ingredients at my place, so we can just go there for breakfast instead!" Kakashi stared at his sensei, he had never been to his home. "O-okay sensei," he agreed. But Naruto was already climbing out of Kakashi's window. "Come on, follow me I don't live too far from here." And with that he leapt from his window and to the nearest rooftop. Kakashi followed after him, forgetting about his dream journal sitting forgotten on his floor.
(Time skip with them heading to Naruto's apartment)
"Wow, Naruto-sensei. I didn't think you'd be the type of person to enjoy taking care of plants." Kakashi commented, looking around his sensei's apartment. It was unsurprisingly messy, but he had been surprised when he saw how many plants were there. Not to mention they looked wonderfully taken care of like someone had cared for them relentlessly. Naruto just grinned at him, "yeah, it's actually pretty fun! If you want, I can help you pick out a plant when we go shopping for your groceries later." Kakashi had never agreed to let his sensei go with him for grocery shopping today, but he just nodded.
Naruto-sensei walked to his cupboards, and pulled out numerous ingredients. "This will take about 30 minutes, so you can just do whatever you want until then, alright 'Kashi?" He nodded to his sensei and looked at the two framed pictures on his sensei's dresser.
One was of their team 7, Naruto-sensei patting his and Sasuke's head with sakura in the middle of them smiling. Kakashi looked at himself in the picture, noting with distaste that he had a blush on his cheeks from the contact with his sensei. Sasuke looked slightly annoyed, but that was nothing new. His eyes looked to his sensei's smiling face, noticing the slight dimples on each of his cheeks, which made the whisker-like scars on his face stand out even more.
He looked at the other picture, noticing that a much younger Naruto was looking back at him through the photo. He looked at the people around his sensei, deciding to look at him later. (Save best for last.) He saw a smiling girl with purple markings on her face, throwing up two peace signs. A boy about their age was on her other side, grinning at the camera with a sucker clearly in his mouth. He looked to the sensei with obvious interest, his mouth tugged downward in recognition. The man had a strong resemblance to Kakashi, and smiled at the camera seemingly without a care in the world. He glared at the man, recognizing him as his father. He looked at the younger Naruto, he grinned slightly at the camera, and Kakashi noticed that his hair was more messed up than usual because of his father's hand. He put down the picture, not wanting to think of his father when he was at his sensei's house.
He looked from the images, and his eyes darted to his sensei making a mouthwatering meal, not like the food was the only thing mouthwatering here- no. He shouldn't think of things like that. His thoughts had taken a dirty turn when he had started reading the Makeout Series. He blamed it entirely on those books. But he couldn't really help himself from glancing at his sensei more often when they were at the hot springs, his eyes absorbing the taut muscles in his back and biceps, even more so drawn to his sensei's chest and stomach, where his chiseled abs made it hard for anyone present to focus on anything else.
He was certain his sensei had noticed at some point, and that was probably why he now sunk lower into the water whenever they were at the hot springs. Kakashi was disappointed in this but shook it off when he remembered he didn't really like being stared at. No matter how loud he was, his sensei was surprisingly bashful. Shaking his head, trying to rid himself of such thoughts, he was twelve for Kami's sake!
He ventured around the small apartment, taking note of organized papers on his sensei's desk, and decided to ask him what it was for later. There were a lot of pictures in his apartment, no surprise there. His sensei enjoyed having his precious people around him, whether it be in person or only in a photo. His attention was snapped back to his sensei as he called him over, telling him the food was ready.
Kakashi rushed over and took a seat across from his sensei, thanking him for the meal he had made. Digging into his food, he swallowed in surprise as he realized that his sensei wasn't kidding when he said he was a good cook. "Wow, sensei. This is really good, are you sure you're not a chef or something?" he laughed at this, and it filled Kakashi with a warmth he had never felt before. He just now realized he loved his sensei's laugh. "Yeah, I'm quite sure. After a lot of trial-and-error, I discovered that I am indeed not a natural at cooking, it took forever to get the hang of." Kakashi laughed and shoveled some more food into his mouth.
"Uh, Kakashi," he heard his sensei say. He hummed in response, his mouth too full of food to respond with words, "how, uh, are you eating with that mask over your mouth and nose." He looked to his sensei and saw his lips were pursed together, attempting to hold in his laughter. He felt his cheeks tint a light shade of pink and swallowed his food. He quickly explained that he had cast a jutsu so he could eat without his mask on but it appeared as though the food just disappeared into his mask to others. His sensei was still trying to hold back his laughter and started to shake with the effort of holding it in.
Kakashi, knowing his sensei was close to breaking, shoveled some more food into his mouth. This seemed to finally get his sensei to break, as he started to laugh hysterically. This caused Kakashi to try to fight back a smile that kept creeping onto his lips but eventually broke out into laughter. He hadn't laughed so hard and in so long, he knew that his sensei was doing strange to Kakashi. He was making him better, making him laugh, making him blush, and making him care for his comrades. The two shinobi finally contained their laughter, and the rest of the meal was filled with comfortable chatter, talking about everything from how to correctly throw a kunai, to which one of them would walk the best in heels.
Kakashi couldn't remember the last time he had so much fun and remembered it was all because of his sensei. As they walked out of the small apartment, Kakashi gave it one more look, not knowing how exactly he knew this wasn't the last time he would be there. "Alright!" His sensei exclaimed, "now, let's go get you some food for home, and a new friend." Kakashi looked to him, "a new friend?" His sensei smiled at him, "or friends. We can get you a plant and a dog, if you want." Kakashi gaped at his sensei as he left him, walking down the hallway. Snapping out of his daze, he ran to catch up with him. He knew this day would be far from over.
If y'all come for me because Kakashi had unholy thoughts and dreams, I already clarified nothing will happen between them until they're both adults, and it's normal for Kakashi to have dreams and thoughts like that about his crush. Please don't come for my head. -Author
