The next morning, Edward was looking around for Thomas in the ffarquhar branchline yards, when a bright golden light shone through the shed door, before a certain boy walked out of it. As Thomas looked at Edward, the K2 driver gave him a stern look as he spoke.

Edward: Thomas. Where have you been? We have been looking all over for you!

Thomas: I figured as much and I'm sorry if I worry you and everyone else Edward, but...

Edward: But?

As Thomas sighed, he was hesitant to give his friend the truth for how ridiculous it sounded, but knowing that lying would not help, he'd give it anyway.

Thomas: Okay, so last night, was possibly one of the most frightening nights I had, for my older brother Timothy came back from the dead as a demonic ghost who's aiming to kill me!!!

As Edward took in Thomas's words, he could tell that it was indeed not a lie and that Thomas was being legit. As the E2 driver awaited for a scolding Edward spoke kindly to him.

Edward: Thomas, as crazy as it sounds, I actually believe you on the demonic ghost bit. As I think that I may have run into Timothy once, while I was on my way home. And ever since that encounter, I did just place it as me hallucinating from being tired, but when you said the ghost's name and the fact he was after you, well, I realised how wrong I was. That encounter was real and like nothing I can describe.

Thomas: Yeah, I bet. Timothy nearly choked me to death last night and almost succeeded in his quest to kill me.

Edward: So, how did you get away?

Thomas: I couldn't, his grip was too strong. If it weren't for Lady Allcroft saving my life, again, I'd...

But before Thomas could finish, Edward's eyes widened in shock and surprise as he heard the rescuer's name.

Edward: Lady Allcroft? Was that who saved you from Timothy?

Thomas: Yes, and the same girl who placed me in the shed after she found me in the rubble of my brother's cottage. Why do you ask?

Edward: (grabs the collar of Thomas's jacket) Because she's the Lost Lady of Sodor!

Thomas: Lost Lady? What do you mean?

Edward then sighed as his grip loosened, before clearing his throat to explain.

Edward: Back in the year of 1911, there was a family who arrived on the island named the Allcrofts. Though they were on the wealthy side, they were kind and treated many with respect. The one who was most kind and courteous was the younger daughter, Perta Allcroft. Petra loved to help people and would ask nothing in return. She was so kind and polite that she was given the nickname Lady, which coincidentally was what her engine was named. However, the Allcrofts had a secret, one of which they may cost them their lives. The knowledge and practice of magic. Though Lady only used it when she was at home, her older sister Strea grew tired of the restriction by her parents and longed to use it outside of home. with this in mind, Strea decided to see if there was a way to get Lady to see her point of view, by putting her in a situation where she'd had no choice but to use the magic she held. So, Strea secretly fatally wounded a man on purpose and called her sister over. Lady, then seeing there was no other way, used her magic to heal the man. Right as he saw this, the man ran off, got a group of his friends together, and sat out on a witch hunt. The mob killed Lady's parents and siblings, and were planning on killing the girl too, when she hopped into her engine and ran. Lady sat off in her engine so fast that no-one had time to hop into the cab. As Lady tried to get away from those who were after her, her engine went faster and faster until the sound faded. When everyone checked further up the line, all they saw was a dead end. they then looked around the area to see if it tumbled off the tracks, but to no avail. However, one year after Lady's disappearance, there were reports of the sound of an engine's whistle, crying out loud and long, with nothing there when people looked.

As Edward concluded his story, Thomas looked down, and began to feel really bad for Lady.

Thomas: How horrible. She went through all of that? betrayal and loss. That's heartbreaking. and yet I thought that my past was bad enough. But to also be called a witch after just ONE good use of magic?! Those people who chased her were idiots!! Why couldn't they see that she had no intention of harming them?! Why couldn't they see that she was good and wanted nothing more than to help?!

Edward: (sighs) When I was first told this story, I asked the same things, and to be truthful, some people just can't accept those who are different that easily, and thus could be pretty prejudiced or racist if not taught properly about them while others can be just plain insolent and inconsiderate. (places hand on Thomas's shoulder) However, I think after all the years of her pain, that you became a major light on her dark life Thomas.

As his ears picked up Edward's words, Thomas smiled. He felt pleased that he helped Lady in one way rather than none at all. As the two drivers then finished their conversation, they turned towards their respective engines and sat off to work, as a pair of red eyes watched them from the shadows.
