Tartarus, the Pit of Monsters. This place was many things, but it was not really her home. Medusa knew this to be true the moment she had escaped her reforming prison, a zit like growth that every monster was reborn in. She wiped her arms off, the ambient fluids coming off her in thick lumps as she slithered over to the closest river of the Pit. Looking into it, she frowned as she saw a rather voluptuous figure with unnatural beauty staring back at her. Was this some sort of trick of the light, she swiped her hand through the water before the same image returned.
She was beautiful again!
Medusa couldn't help but smile at this, before she thought of something. Maybe this was a reward from Lord Tartarus himself for being such a good servant? The Progentai was quite difficult to comprehend most times but this was something else, the once ugly monster thought to herself that maybe she was given some other abilities as well. Focusing her mind, she thought of her long snake-like tail turning into legs. Her tail shrunk before she was staking nude before the water, the opium of what sexuality and beauty was.
She then noted that her hair wasn't snakes either, but after a moment of focusing, the snakes returned. She returned them to hair, her new back length dark green hair, before her eyes flashed. Medusa nodded to herself, Tartarus gave her the ability to use her gift at will. How...generous of him.
"Thank you, M'lord," She muttered under her breath before turning her legs into a serpentine tail once more, heading deeper into the Pit.
Medusa slithered quietly through the rocky terrain that made up this part of the Pit, like it had been cracking from dehydration. She shook her head, letting that thought leave quickly as she found what she was looking for. Smiling, she quickly descended upon the forges of the last Elder Cyclops, finding the massive being working away at his anvil. The forge was pretty simple, Medusa noted, only having a bath of water to cool the weapons, a forge that was built into a constantly active volcano and an anvil. The Elder Cyclops looked up before frowning, his single golden eye studying her carefully.
The lamia monster decided to speak quickly, "Elder Cyclops, I wish to call upon your services this day."
"What do you wish of me this day, Medusa," The Elder Cyclops growled, clearly he wasn't in the best of moods, "I am very busy."
"I wish to have a weapon built that would suit me in both my new human form and this form you see before you." She said respectfully, knowing that if this Cyclops wanted to, he could tear her apart quite easily.
The Elder Cyclops studied her nude upper body then snake body, before snorting, turning back to his forge, "You would require a bow and a sword, Medusa. Unless you can do something for me, I will not do it."
Medusa held back a hiss, this was her only chance to get something that was actually good down here! She composed herself before bowing her head in respect.
"I understand," She said diplomatically, "What would you have me do to allow you to gain the favor of myself to earn those weapons?"
The Cyclops huffed, crossing his muscular arms over his broad, well muscled chest, "There's a monster that keeps hoarding all the good metal just south of my forge, I want you to kill it and bring me its stone head as proof."
Medusa nodded, this shouldn't be too hard for her to do. A simple kill and show proof of it mission, what could go wrong?
Medusa suddenly regretted thinking of those works the moment she saw the pit that the supposed monster was hoarding the metals. It was covered metal that the river Styx was dumping out of itself, all forgotten dreams and fantasies. This was clearly something that she was really starting to regret, she carefully traversed the metal stroon ground, looking for the monster. She paused, hearing a deep guttural roar behind her. She looked over her shoulder and her blood turned to ice, the monster was right behind her.
The creature was massive, standing well over twenty feet tall, with massive bat-like wings that were billowing smoke. Its body was vaguely humanoid, but it walked on massive taloned hooves that caused the ground to melt under it. Its head had two curved horns running along the sides of its face as it growled, its glowing maw dripping lava like drool onto the ground. Along its back was live flame, burning brightly as it looked around before grabbing a massive handful of metal and biting into it.
Medusa's stomach turned over as she watched the thing eat, making noise like a raging volcano and a live furnace as it munched away on the metals. She gathered her courage and shouted at the beast, gaining its attention. It roared, hot air washing over her before it beat its wings, the force of it sending her flying backwards. Medusa hit the ground, crying out as metal sliced through her skin and caused blood to ooze out. The beast slowly stalked towards her, with each footfall, it caused a miniature quake to happen.
She tried to back up but the heat from the creature but stopped, realizing she was trapped. Behind her was a pool of water that this waterfall of the River Styx was flowing into, causing it to be churning and writhing with the heat of the liquid. Medusa looked up at the beast as it closed in, clearly laughing at her plight before she snarled and let it see her power. Her eyes glowed in the dim cavernous place, as Medusa screamed at the thing, staring right into its burning eyes. The thing turned to stone, starting at its massive feet before it grew up to its hips.
It tried to escape but the petrification only claimed it faster as it roared if defiance, reaching to crush Medusa. Moments before it touched her, it was fully petrified, killed by her. Medusa let out a breath she didn't know she was holding before using her tail to smash the head of the beast off at the neck, catching the massive thing in her arms. Grunting, she slowly made her way back to the Elder Cyclops with her proof.
Once she had returned, Medusa put the stone head on the anvil, panting as the Monster Forger looked at it.
"Your head," She panted, looking at the Cyclops, "now my weapons?"
Without a word, the Elder Cyclops went to work right before her. It was like watching something out of a movie, the Elder Cyclops was forging, molding, changing and designing all at the same time. Something that was a sight to behold, that was for sure. Medusa was enthralled with the Monsters' work, having never seen something so beautifully done before. But, in a few short hours, it was complete, the Cyclops put the finishing touches on her weapons before handing them to her.
"This bow," He said, handing the powerful weapon to her, "is infused with the venom of every snake that has ever been. Think of one serpent's venom and your arrow will have it applied. Your quiver shall never be empty of arrows, but only you can call them forth."
He then handed her a sword, a long thin blade that felt perfectly balanced in her hand as she swung it a few times.
"This is Οχιά επιθετικός," The Elder Cyclops said, eyeing the weapon, "Viper Striker, able to be covered in any poison or venom of any serpent you desire. It will always return to you no matter what, only you can wield it properly as well."
"Thank you, Elder Cyclop," Medusa bowed her head as she felt a sheath for her sword form on her back, "I am most grateful."
The Cyclops waved its arm, signalling her to leave before he decided to harm her. Medusa left, weapons at the ready.
She didn't know how long she had been in the depths of Tartarus, as time flows differently here but she did know that there seemed to be way more pods that held monsters in them than normal. The serpentine monster held her bow at the ready, feeling her senses tingle as she looked around. She had caused her hair to return to its serpentine state, allowing her more coverage around her as her hair was made up of many different snakes. She looked up towards the stormy darkness before gasping as the clouds parted, showing off a figure that was burning like a falling star.
Medusa moved, her body making quick work of the terrain as she closed in on the falling figure. She climbed up a rocky ridge before having to cover her eyes as the falling star crashed into the ground, shaking it violently. The brightness of it like that of an Olympian's true form, but then the wave of dust and debris hit her. She cried out as she was flung back down the ridge before crawling under it for cover as their was a massive BOOM that shook the Pit itself. Closing her eyes, she clenched her teeth as the ground became much more violent before it slowly stopped.
Medusa looked up and frowned, the ground was clear of debris now but seemed smoother than before. She climbed back over the ridge, loading her bow as she slowly slithered towards the center of the explosion. The closer she got, the more it seemed like the Olympains had just dropped a nuke on Tartarus for the Hades of it. When she reached ground zero, however, she gasped in shock.
"W-what happened, little child of Poseidon?" Medusa asked in shock as she looked at the thing before her.
Before her was a block of ice, dark blue and cracked, but in the center of it was a person. She recognized this boy immediately, the only one to have killed her in who knows how long. Perseus Jackson was encased in this block of ice, his clothing torn and weathered but his trusted weapon was in his hand. Medusa had a sudden flurry of thought, like to kill the boy while he was trapped. But the more reasonable, and human, side of her won out. Pulling out her sword, Medusa stabbed the blade into the largest crack in the ice. The icy prison audibly cracked some more before she twisted the weapon, causing it to shatter. Medusa reacted with her lightning like reflexes, catching the demigod in her powerful tail as she sheathed her weapon.
Medusa ran a hand across Percy Jackson's face, brushing his bangs out of the way as she noticed he had a few new scars on him. None on his handsome face, of course, but it only added to his alluring looks. Just like his Father, that thought made Medusa melt a little inside before the boy started coughing. She quickly disarmed him of Riptide as he came around before looking at her.
"A-am I dead," He said, clearly drowsy, "Or have we met before?"
Medusa smiled thinly, "Yes, we have before, Percy Jackson."
Percy tried to jump away but Medusa held him in her coils, her tail having wrapped itself over each shoulder and between his legs, locking him in. Percy wiggled before groaning as she decided to tease him, smirking at his reaction.
"It seems that you have been cast away, like I told you years ago," Medusa said, making Percy look away in embarrassment, "You should have accepted my offer."
"Well," He said flatly, "This isn't the first time I've been down here either."
Medusa raised her eyebrow, she must have been still regrowing at the time.
"Then why are you down here, Perseus?" The Snake monster asked, using a hand to cup Percy's cheek and make him look at her.
"I-I," Percy gulped before he softly whispered, "I've been banished before 'betraying Olympus'...I didn't do anything."
