Chapter 1

The Bellwether Unit had just graduated; Tally, Abigail, even Raelle were all ecstatic. They had made it into War College, even though the main reason was because Abigail was a Bellwether. They went through hell, from not trusting, to trusting each other, to Tally turning in Scylla. Scylla…Scylla was a completely different story. She was Spree; she had her own reasons for doing what she did and joining The Spree's cause. That was until she had meet Raelle.

Raelle still didn't trust Scylla, even though she loved her with all her heart. They sat deep in the woods as Raella listened to Scylla. Her eyes closed and tears streamed quietly down her soft cheeks.

Scylla sat down on the ground next to Raelle, whom was sitting on the grass floor, leaning up against a towering oak tree. Scylla reached her hand out to the other woman and slowly pulled back, wrapped her arms around her knees, resting her chin on top of her knees as she looked up at Raelle. "Look Rae, I can't tell you how incredibly sorry I am that I lied to you, that I tagged you along with me. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Raelle's eyes snapped open and she looked into Scylla's brilliant blue eyes. Their eyes locked onto each other and Scylla let out a breathy sigh. Raelle quickly wiped the stream of tears running down her cheeks as she looked down, "I know you said it wasn't all a lie. But where did the lie end and the truth begin? I loved you Scylla and lying to me from the moment we met. Did you orchestrate that? You being out in the field when I was."

Scylla tore her eyes away from Raelle's and looked down as she nodded her head slightly. Raelle stood up and backed away from Scylla, looking down at the women. She felt her chest tighten, as if her heart was shattering in a million little pieces. Tears ran down her cheeks, unable to stop them, "You…you lied to me from the moment we met!" Raelle screamed out as she kept taking steps away from Scylla, watching her. She just wanted to turn and run; she didn't want anything to do will Scylla anymore.

Scylla looked up at Raelle, tears flowing down her smooth cheeks slowly as she met Raelle's eyes. She wanted to tell her the truth and not lie to her anymore. "Raelle, I…" Scylla slowly stood and looked into Raelle's eyes as she stepped toward the blonde hair woman. Seeing Raelle still step back from her, Scylla stopped in her tracks. "It started out like that. I was supposed to take you to them. I didn't know what they wanted from you, but I knew it wasn't good. I knew they probably wanted to turn you…" She paused for a minute, watching Raelle's reaction. Raelle had stopped moving away from Scylla, so she took a small, half step toward Raelle and stopped. There was still a good five feet between the two women. Scylla continued, "But…do you remember at the wedding…?"

"The wedding from hell? The one when the Spree…attacked us?" Raelle cut her off.

Scylla let out a small sigh as she took another small half step toward Raelle. Raelle took two steps back and Scylla stopped moving. "Yeah…that one…when we were dancing and the clock chimed six o'clock, I was supposed to take you there. I was supposed to hand you over to them…but I told you that I love you…" She took another, full step towards Raelle. Raelle didn't move from her stance, tears still streamed down her face, but Scylla took that as a good sign and continued, "I still love you Raelle. I never lied about my feelings towards you."

Raelle quickly wiped her eyes, seeing Scylla move closer to her still, "You may not have lied about your feelings towards me Scylla. But you lied about everything else. How am I supposed to trust someone who lies to me?" She paused for a minute and took a small step back. She planted one foot behind her, keeping her eyes on Scylla, "I still love you Scyl…but I don't trust you." As fresh tears flowed down Raelle's cheeks, she turned on her planted foot and started off at a fast run back towards the barracks, to her unit.

Tears flowed down Scylla's cheeks as she listened to the other woman, "Rae…" Before Scylla was able to get out a sentence, Raelle was gone from sight. Scylla fell down to her knees, screaming loud as tears kept spilling from her eyes.
