Chapter 6

It was a bright, sunny morning. Despite how bright the weather was, the day wasn't going to be bright for two half Saiyans. It was the weekend so Gohan didn't have to go to school. Even though his mother kept telling him to stay in the house and study, he didn't want to do that as there were other things on his mind. ChiChi was oblivious to the fact that Gohan had gone to see Goku on the lookout yesterday. He hadn't yet told Goten of the results of the meeting with their father. When the older half Saiyan arrived home last night, his mother had asked him where he was as she was staring at him angrily. Gohan told her a lie that he had some catching up to do with Videl, completely unaware that he had actually gone to meet up with their father to discuss the upcoming divorce and custody hearing. When Gohan asked his mother where Goten was when he didn't see his brother at the dinner table, the Ox Princess simply told him that Goten was in his room finishing up on some homework. But Gohan had a feeling that his mother knew more than she was telling. When he finished doing his homework, he wanted to check up on Goten but didn't in case he was asleep.

Flashback

Gohan had just arrived back home from the lookout, a smile on his face. His father had a strong resolve and that was to get custody of Goten. And he was definitely going to give Goten the news, knowing that his brother was going to be happy to hear that Goku was going to fight for him. Gohan was determined to help his father in any way that he could to get custody of Goten. And when they emerged from this battle victorious, he was going to move out too. He no longer wanted to live with his mother as her actions thus far had saddened him but at the same time... it made him furious. He remembered when his brother was in tears when ChiChi refused to let them see their father. The way she was treating Goten... it was horrible and disheartening. Those were the only words Gohan could use to describe his mother's actions.

Before Gohan could even open the door, ChiChi had already done that for him and the Ox Princess wore an angry look on her face as she was glaring daggers at her oldest son. He was supposed to come back right after school and it was late at night. She folded her arms at Gohan and asked, "Where were you?"

"Sorry I'm late mom. I had some catching up to do with Videl. She said she needed help with her science homework." Gohan lied, hoping that his mother would believe him and allow him to enter the house. The Saiyan hybrid knew what would happen if he told his mother the truth. She would go berserk mode as she had practically forbidden them from seeing their father. It was completely unfair. To both him and Goten.

"Fine. I'm letting it slide just this once. But it better not happen again. Do I make myself clear?" ChiChi said, trying to make her voice as intimidating as possible. Though for some reason, Gohan wasn't feeling intimidated by his mother's stare.

ChiChi stepped aside to give her older son room to enter. "There's dinner on the table. Eat it up, do your homework and go to bed!"

Gohan didn't respond to that. Instead, he looked around the rest of the house and asked, "Where's Goten?"

"Goten's in his room. He just had dinner and he's sleeping." ChiChi answered, even though that was a complete lie.

Gohan could tell that his mother was lying but he didn't say anything. He simply went to the dining room to eat the dinner his mother made for him. For some reason the dinner didn't look appetizing and when he took a bite, it tasted horrible. It was as if ChiChi didn't make an effort to make the food as delicious as she usually did. When his mother wasn't looking, he grabbed the plate of food and threw it in the garbage. He drank the rest of the water he had taken from the refrigerator and told his mother he was going upstairs to sleep. He had gotten a shitload of homework today, so he decided to finish up on it and then maybe see Goten if it wasn't too late.

Unfortunately for Gohan, it was almost midnight by the time he had finished all of his work. He figured that Goten was fast asleep so he decided to do the same too. He could talk to his brother in the morning.

End of Flashback...

Gohan gave a light sigh when he remembered yesterday's events. His brother was sad and angry at all of this and it hurt him to see Goten in that position. He had to think of something. He had to find evidence that his mother was unfit to take care of Goten. ChiChi had just left the house and told Gohan to take care of Goten, telling him that she'll be back in a couple of hours. She didn't say where she was going. Only that she wouldn't be back for a while, which meant that he and Goten had the house to themselves. Gohan felt that he could communicate with Goten better when their mother wasn't around so they didn't have to worry about her eavesdropping on their conversations.

Now that their mother was gone, Gohan decided to go and see Goten. However, before he set out for his brother's bedroom door, the Saiyan hybrid could sense that Goten's energy level was dangerously weak. This alarmed Gohan as this meant that something had happened to his brother. But when? And how?

Gohan quickly went and knocked on Goten's bedroom door and didn't get an answer. After knocking again and once again not receiving a response, Gohan called out, "Goten are you okay!?"

Goten wasn't responding to him. This meant that...

Gohan turned the door handle of Goten's door and found his brother lying on the floor. Not only was he lying on the floor, there were cuts and bruises all over his body. There was also a nasty purple bruise under Goten's left eye. The older brother rushed to Goten's unconscious body and carried him in his arms, with only one thought on his mind.

'I have to get him to Dende and quickly! His ki is diminishing rapidly!'

Before that however, Gohan used his free hand to grab his phone and snap a few pictures of Goten's injures while he used an arm to hold his brother. He took a picture of each and every one of his injuries. He was going to show them to Bulma and the others later.

He rushed to the bedroom window and flew out quickly, while holding Goten securely in his arms.

Gohan was flying at his fastest speed while taking note of his brother's limp body. Right now he was focused on getting his brother to the lookout. If he didn't Goten could... could...

Gohan didn't even want to finish those words. Goten's body was almost lifeless in front of him. Nothing else mattered to him except getting his brother to the lookout to be healed by Dende, and then he would have to decide what to do afterwards.

At the lookout...

Dende was in his usual position, observing the activities going on earth while closing his eyes. The Guardian of the Earth was alerted when he sensed Gohan's energy approaching along with another energy level that was dangerously weak. Gohan had arrived holding his brother's limp body in his arms, and Dende could see that Goten needed to be healed as quickly as possible before the worst thing happened.

"Gohan!" Dende asked shocked as he noticed Goten's injuries. "What on earth happened?"

"Dende! Can you please heal Goten fast!?" Gohan asked frantically. He didn't want to watch Goten die in front of him. His brother had to survive. He could only imagine his father's reaction when he came to discover that his youngest son was dead. Goku would be in tears and it was something Gohan didn't want to see. His father loved Goten dearly.

"Of course." The Namekian placed both of his hands on top of Goten's body and in a few minutes, all of Goten's injuries were healed. All the bloody scars, all the gashes that were seen on his arms and legs... they were all gone.

"Thank goodness." Gohan cried as he hugged Dende tightly. "You healed Goten just in time!"

"No problem Gohan." Dende responded with a calm voice. "But can you please tell me what happened? Were you sparring with Goten?"

"No." Gohan answered. "If we were sparring, I wouldn't hurt Goten that bad." At the moment, Gohan had no clue as to how this could have happened.

"Then what happened?" Dende asked worriedly. If Gohan and Goten weren't sparring, then what could possibly have taken place which caused Goten to sustain these injuries?

Suddenly Gohan had flashbacks from when he came home last night. When his mother told him that Goten was sleeping in his room. Gohan knew that his mother was hiding something. Goten was in his room... but he probably wasn't asleep. ChiChi probably didn't feed him or let him leave his room. He should have gone to check up on Goten but it was almost midnight when he finished his homework and he assumed that his brother was asleep. And then his eyes widened as he began to realize something. This was something that he should have figured out much sooner.

"Gohan are you okay?" Dende asked softly. Gohan didn't answer his question and Earth's guardian was starting to get worried. "What's wrong?"

"Mom... Mom is abusing Goten!" Gohan stuttered. He was having a hard time trying to believe it but now it made sense since he knew that his mother wasn't being truthful with him.

"What!?" Dende exclaimed with absolute shock as he looked over at Goten's body. "How could this have possibly happened!?"

At that moment, Mr Popo appeared. And when he saw Goten, he had a look of surprise on his face. "Oh my! What happened to Goten?"

Gohan couldn't bring himself to speak due to his shock so Dende answered Mr Popo. They were both disgusted by the fact that a human mother could do this to her own son. How could ChiChi hurt Goten like that? What had Goten done to deserve it?

Gohan reached into his pants pocket and grabbed his cellphone. He quickly dialed Bulma's number and almost immediately Gohan got an answer from the scientist.

"Hey Gohan!" Bulma greeted enthusiastically. "How's everything going with you and Goten?"

"Bulma, can you please tell everyone to come to the lookout?" Gohan asked with a serious tone as he tightened his grip on his phone. "Something just happened!"

Bulma's voice became serious when she realized that the tone in Gohan's voice wasn't one of enthusiasm. "All right. I'll tell everyone to meet us there!"

"Bring Trunks along with you too!" Gohan ordered.

"Got it!"

When Gohan hung up the phone, he began clenching his fists in anger. How could his mother do this? She was getting progressively worse and he didn't know what to do at this point. Gohan could feel Dende place a hand on his shoulder and he turned around to face his Namekian friend.

"Gohan, I'm sure we can find a way to fix all of this." Dende said calmly as he put a hand on the distressed Saiyan's shoulder. He wasn't quite sure what would help to calm Gohan's nerves.

"I know Dende. It's just so hard to take in." Gohan gave a sigh as he looked at his brother who seemed to be resting peacefully.

"Try not to panic so much Gohan." Mr Popo said to him. "You brought Goten here on time to get himself healed."

Gohan gave him a tight smile. "Yeah, but something needs to be done about my mother. How could she... How could she think about doing this to Goten?"

As they were waiting for everyone else to show up, Dende and Mr Popo tried everything they could to calm Gohan down.

At Fire Mountain...

The Ox King sat in his kingdom in Fire Mountain. He was alone by himself in the castle so he had time to gather his thoughts. He was deeply troubled as he thought about his daughter ChiChi and his grandchildren. Especially his daughter. Ever since ChiChi's mother died when she was very young, he had spoiled his daughter rotten, buying her whatever she requested without even questioning it. But now that he thought of it, the Ox King wished that he raised his daughter better. ChiChi seemed to get angry whenever she didn't get what she wanted. It was like she wanted everything to be handed to her on a silver platter. And it was that part of his daughter that he hated the most. When ChiChi told him that she and Goku had just separated and were later going to get divorced, he had allowed her, Gohan and Goten to stay in his kingdom. He later found a nice looking house for them to stay in and bought it for them because he knew that ChiChi currently didn't have a job.

The Ox King didn't like how ChiChi gave Goku a hard time during their marriage. Sure, Goku wasn't perfect but at least he was doing his very best to ensure everyone's safety. And yet, ChiChi didn't show appreciation. There was also a gut feeling in the Ox King that told him that his daughter was up to no good. He began to fear for the safety of his grandchildren. If he were being brutally honest with himself, he didn't want ChiChi to have custody of Goten. When he had gone to visit them a couple of times, he had seen how ChiChi had poorly treated Goten and couldn't stand to see the sad look on his grandson's face. ChiChi didn't have a healthy relationship with Gohan and Goten but yet... they had a strong relationship with their father. He treated them lovingly and always put a smile on their faces. If anything, the Ox King wanted Goku to get custody of Goten. As much as he loved his daughter, he didn't think she was fit enough to take care of Goten considering the kind of relationship she has with him.

'Goku, you deserve to have full custody of my grandson. I believe you're capable of taking care of Goten much better than ChiChi ever could. You must defeat my daughter in court and get Goten back.'

Goku was on his way to the mayor's house as there was something he wanted to speak with him about. He had just left the house, leaving Suno alone with her mother and Eighter. Now that the Saiyan knew what he wanted to do, he wanted some advice on how to approach this and he felt that the mayor might be able to do that.

Once he reached the mayor's house, he knocked on the door. Himari, the young maid who he had met the last time opened the door for him. "Oh Goku! I didn't know you were coming. The mayor isn't home right now. Do you need to speak with him urgently? I can call him if you want."

An idea came into Goku's head. The mayor isn't home, but what if Himari could help? It wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.

"I did want to see the mayor, but I think you might be able to help instead." Goku replied.

"Oh? Is that so? Come inside then." Himari stepped aside, giving room for Goku to enter the house.

She shut the door and asked Goku, "Would you like anything to drink?"

Goku shook his head and answered. "I'm fine."

The Saiyan took a seat on the couch, and Himari took a seat opposite her visitor.

"What is it that you think I can help you with?" Himari softly asked. She didn't want to make it seem as if she was acting nosy, especially if what Goku wanted to talk to her about was a sensitive issue.

"Well, the truth is that I'm about to go through a divorce." Goku answered. This caused Himari to gasp slightly. "My wife and I separated a few weeks ago and she took our two children with her. Suno has been helping me get through this ordeal emotionally and during the time that we've been together, I started to develop... feelings for her. Unlike when I was with my wife, Suno has never mocked me. She comforted me and was very understanding of my situation. I felt like I was... loved. Last night, I found out that she also felt the same way about me when I overheard a conversation between her and her mother. The reason why she doesn't want to tell me her feelings is because of my upcoming divorce. She doesn't want to hurt me and end up losing our friendship. She actually felt this way about me ever since we first met and has held onto her feelings for years. Suno is putting my feelings first before her own and she's hurting herself in the process. She's feeling... she's feeling lonely because she isn't with me." Goku paused for a bit before continuing. "I love Suno dearly, and I don't want her to feel that way. I want to tell her my true feelings but I don't know how."

It was the young lady's turn to speak. "Goku, if you really love Suno, you should definitely tell her. Talk to her in private. Tell her why you fell in love with her, when you started to fall in love. You said that she's feeling lonely, right? Well, now's your chance to make her feel special. Prove to her that she means a lot to you. The advice I can give you is believe in yourself. As long as you say what's in your heart, everything will go smoothly."

When Himari finished talking, Goku cracked a smile. "Thank you so much for the advice ma'am. I know what I have to do now."

"It's no problem at all." Himari couldn't help but smile at his words.

After giving her a handshake, Goku left the mayor's house, his resolve to confess to Suno much stronger than before. There weren't any doubts about this. Nothing could possibly go wrong if Suno genuinely loves him.

Everyone had just arrived at the lookout. Bulma, Vegeta, Videl, Yamcha, Krillin, Eighteen, Mr Satan, Buu, Tienshinhan, Master Roshi, Trunks and Piccolo were all present at the scene. When Gohan filled them in on what had occured, they all had looks of disbelief. They all couldn't believe that ChiChi would go as far as to verbally and physically abuse Goten.

"I-I can't believe this..." Trunks managed to stutter. "To think that your mom would go this far? I knew ChiChi was crazy, but now I believe that she's completely INSANE!"

"If ChiChi were here in front of me, I would give her the beating of a lifetime!" Eighteen said with venom in her voice. "Nobody deserves to go through that!"

"Buu would make her pay!"

The words of anger were interrupted when they heard groaning coming from Goten. He opened his eyes, looked around him and noticed that he was on the lookout and that everyone was staring at him worriedly.

"W-What happened?" Goten asked as he blinked his eyes.

Gohan gently placed a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Goten, tell us what happened yesterday when you were with mom. What did she do to you? What exactly did she say to you?"

As soon as Gohan asked him that, the memories started to come back to Goten. It was going to be painful talking about it but if they were going to come up with a solution, then he had to give them all the details.

"I was in my room yesterday afternoon. By that time, you were still outside. I was struggling to keep up with the homework mom was giving me." Goten's lips started to quiver. "I couldn't finish before she came to check up on me. She said, 'Goten, you haven't even finished half of your damn homework!'

Goten went on to explain how ChiChi said he was incapable of getting his homework done when Gohan wasn't around and how she was insulting Goku, saying that he was stupid, idiotic and how he knew nothing about raising a family.

"She... She said that she'll see to it that I'll never see Dad again because she's going to get full custody of me without any visitation rights." Goten said, quoting ChiChi word by word. "Mom didn't let me eat lunch or dinner. I was in my room starving while doing work! I remember she slapped me across the face twice and then she punched me. I... I couldn't bring myself to react at all. And then later, when she came to check up on me again and saw that I still couldn't finish my homework, she started to hurt me even more." Memories of when his mother was beating him yesterday was still fresh in his mind.

Goten was doing everything he could to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill. Bulma had placed a shoulder on the frightened boy to comfort him.

"And then sometime after I heard mom making a phone call. She said she was going to fake her emotions, make up fake stories in the court and convince everyone that she's the better parent than dad. The person she was talking to... I think mom said she was going to pay money to whoever was on the line by borrowing money from Grandpa." Goten began sobbing. "I think... I think mom's going to do something terrible in court."

Gohan hugged Goten. "It's going to be okay. Everything's going to be okay. We'll think of something."

"Yeah Goten. Gohan's right about that one." Trunks said in an effort to calm down his friend. "We'll find a solution to this issue."

Vegeta growled. It was obvious the Saiyan Prince was livid about these events. "I'm disgusted at this pathetic excuse for a human woman!"

"I would waste no time in beating her to a pulp." Piccolo said with anger in his voice. "If this is how she intends to treat Goten, she is obviously a terrible parent!"

Gohan then remembered something. He took out his cellphone and opened up the pictures of Goten's battered body and showed it to Bulma. She gasped when she saw it before passing the phone around for the others to see.

"H-How could ChiChi do this!?" Yamcha said angrily as he began to clench his fists.

"I don't know what to say." Roshi muttered.

"Hey Gohan. We can show those pictures to the court as evidence that ChiChi... was abusing Goten." Videl spoke up as she touched her boyfriend's arm softly.

Gohan nodded his head in agreement. "Bulma, would you be able to make copies of these?"

"Of course I can." She answered. "I'll get started on that as soon as I get the chance! Just make sure you send the pictures to my phone."

"Gohan... what are we going to do? I don't want to stay home with mommy." Goten asked with complete fear etched in his voice.

"Gohan. I think it's about time we start monitoring ChiChi's actions. We need evidence so we can expose her in front of the judge in court." Bulma explained.

"Exactly." Gohan gave Goten a soft look and said, "Don't worry Goten. I'll stay home with you all day. Mom won't be able to hurt you if I'm around."

Goten nodded his head. "Okay."

"We'll gather enough evidence of mom's activities and then we'll let dad in on it." Gohan said. "But we all know he'll be pissed once he finds out that mom was abusing Goten."

Everyone agreed with it.

"We have to make sure ChiChi doesn't know we're watching her. Who knows what she'll do if she found out that we know she's abusing her own son." Mr Satan spoke up. "Gohan, you should keep the evidence hidden."

"Of course I will."

"When I make photocopies of Goten's injuries, I can keep them in my lab and we can show them to Goku later." Bulma suggested.

"That's great." Gohan said in agreement.

"I think we should get going before mom gets back from wherever she is." Gohan grimaced at his own words. "As much as I hate to do so. If I come across any interesting developments, I'll let you all know."

Bulma crouched down to Goten's height. She was feeling sympathetic that she had to hear about him going through all this torture by his own mother. "You know Goten, if the choice were up to me, I would have you stay with me and Vegeta at Capsule Corp and you could play with Trunks. I'm terribly sorry you had to go through all this."

"It's okay..." Goten replied while keeping his eyes on the ground. "I miss dad a lot. I love him... and I hope that things turn out okay."

"Gohan... if there's anything more we can do to help, please let us know immediately." Videl said softly as she looked at her boyfriend intently.

Gohan grabbed Videl's hand in his and said, "Don't worry I will."

"Alright guys, I think it's best if we get going before mom comes back and discovers we're gone." Gohan announced.

Goten stood next to Gohan with the intention of staying with his brother the whole day. He didn't want to be alone with ChiChi all day.

"Alright Gohan. We'll meet up again." Bulma said. "Remember to call us when you've found something new."

"I'll definitely do that."

"The two of you should stay strong through this." Piccolo said to the half Saiyans.

"We will. It'll be difficult, but we'll overcome this." Gohan said to his former mentor in determination.

Piccolo simply cracked a smile in response.

Everyone present at the lookout watched as Gohan and Goten departed. As soon as the two Saiyan hybrids were out of sight, Bulma turned to look at everyone else.

"Is there something you just thought about Bulma?" Vegeta asked his wife.

"Yeah." The scientist responded. "If Goten actually... died, we'd have to tell Goku. If that actually happened, telling Goku would have been the hardest part."

Oh crap. That was something that none of them had even thought about. Goku's reaction to this. How would he feel if he discovered that Goten died? And even worse, how would he react to Goten dying at the hands of his own mother?

Krillin clenched his fists. "Goku would have been in tears!" He was already starting to imagine a scenario in his head where they all had to sit down and explain to Goku what had just happened and him kneeling down beside his son's dead body crying uncontrollably. He would track down ChiChi and make her regret ever having the thought of laying her hands on Goten.

"Damn it..." Tienshinhan clenched his fists. "ChiChi... almost killed Goten!"

"Let's all be grateful that it didn't get to that point." Roshi said to the group.

"We also have to take measures to ensure it doesn't happen again." Hercule added.

That was something they could all agree on. But they knew that if ChiChi ended up... killing Goten, the fact is that Goku wouldn't react well to the news.

And then afterwards, everyone left the lookout and went their separate ways.

ChiChi was walking down a dark alley, being mindful of the stares she was receiving as she walked. This was one area she would have tried to avoid as much as possible but the caller had said to meet her in this area. Once the Ox Princess reached an apartment complex, she knocked on the door and almost immediately, she heard footsteps approaching. When the door opened, the man said, "Hello ChiChi. Come on in."

ChiChi gave the unknown man a smile and stepped inside. "Thank you."

The two of them sat down and began to talk with ChiChi being unaware that her secret plans are about to be discovered and could possibly backfire.

Bulma sat in her lab and this time she wasn't working on a new invention but rather she was looking at the graphic photos from her computer. She pressed a button on the photocopy machine that was sitting next to her desktop. As she was about to start photocopying the pictures, she heard a soft knock on the door.

"Come in." Bulma said softly.

The door was wide open, revealing Trunks who had a worried look on his face.

"Hey Trunks sweetie." Bulma greeted her son. "What's up?"

The worried look on Trunks's face said it all. He was obviously worried about Goten and the fact that he was being abused by his own mother.

"Mom, I can't stand to see Goten like this." The purple haired boy replied, while moving towards his mother who was working on printing out the photos. "His mom is... abusing him."

"I know sweetheart. I can't stand it either but we can get through this." Bulma placed a hand on her sons shoulder and squeezed it gently.

Both mother and son watched as papers began to come out of the printer. Trunks gave a disgusted look as he looked at the photos. His closest friend Goten... being abused by his own mother. This would never be able to escape his mind.

As soon as Bulma was done photocopying, she pressed the power button on the printer, turning off the machine. She grabbed the papers and placed them in a brown envelope. The blue haired scientist gave her son a light sigh and said, "I'll keep these here in the lab. We'll have to show these to Goku later." Though in her mind, she was still thinking about Goku's reaction when he found out about all this. He would be distraught by all this and would be angry at ChiChi for doing this to Goten.

Trunks gave a slight nod, not really trusting himself to speak at the moment.

"Trunks, I know you're worried about Goten but trust me, everything will be resolved soon. Goku's going to get full custody of Goten and we're all going to ensure that it happens." The bluenette said softly. She couldn't blame Trunks for worrying about Goten. He had been through hell.

"I know mom."

Bulma gave her son a light smile. "To lighten up the situation, I've got to start planning the get together party. I'm just hoping Gohan and Goten will be able to make it!"

Bulma sat up from the chair she was sitting on. "Let's go get you some dinner Trunks."

Even though the half Saiyan wasn't really hungry, he decided to at least try and eat something. Hoping that food would temporarily get his mind off of this, he followed his mother to the dining room.

Meanwhile...

Gohan and Goten had just arrived home after Goten's near death experience. The younger sibling clung to Gohan's arm tightly. When they reached the front door, Gohan gave it a soft knock assuming that his mother had also arrived home. After knocking on the door a second time and not receiving any response, he opened the door with Goten following closely behind him.

"This is strange..." Gohan muttered. "Mom said she'd be gone for a few hours and there's no sign of her anywhere. I wonder what she could be doing that's keeping her out this late."

"Hey Goten, are you hungry?" Gohan asked softly. "There should be something in the fridge for us to eat." The Saiyan hybrid was expecting his brother to say he didn't have an appetite or that he wasn't hungry.

Goten responded with a slight nod of his head. He followed Gohan into the kitchen and the elder brother opened the refrigerator and looked through it's contents. He decided on some sandwiches and apple juice for himself and Goten.

Soon, Gohan brought out the sandwiches and the juice and the two began to eat. Through the entirety of their dinner, Goten hadn't said much but he only gave his brother one word replies. Gohan hated to see his brother like that. He had to do something. He had to search for more evidence aside from the pictures of Goten he took earlier.

Gohan broke the silence with his next words. "Goten, you can go to your room and rest if you want. I'll be doing the dishes. I'll be with you as soon as I'm done."

"Okay Gohan."

Gohan watched Goten leave for a split second before bringing the dirty dishes back to the sink to wash. It took him a few minutes to finish washing the dirty plates. He took a look around him, wondering what to do. And then suddenly, a random thought occured to Gohan. His instincts were telling him to go and take a look in his mother's room. ChiChi wasn't home, so why not?

He left the kitchen to go and was on his way to his mother's bedroom. He opened the door and was surprised to see that his mother's room was cluttered. Despite the fact that ChiChi was always talking to Gohan about cleaniness, she didn't exactly keep her room neat.

The Saiyan hybrid stepped inside, trying to think of why exactly he decided to come in here. And then almost immediately, the answer dawned on him. 'Evidence to use against mother in court!' She had to keep something in here which could expose her.

Gohan searched through his mother's closet for something that would help in exposing her wrongdoings. After finding nothing in there, he began to open her dresser drawers and searched long and hard. His fingers brushed against something, which he easily pulled out and it looked like a tape recording. Along with it came a phone. He was sure his mother had taken her phone along with him, so why was there another one here?

Gohan took out his cellphone and took pictures of what could be possible evidence to use against his mother in court and sent it to Bulma.

Gohan: Look what I found in Mom's room, Bulma. I don't know what they contain, but I think it may be evidence of her planning something.

Bulma: Nice Gohan! Can you bring it over to me tommorow? We can take a look at them together.

Gohan: Of course I can do that. As long as mom doesn't discover that it's missing.

Bulma: All right. I'll expect them tommorow.

Gohan quickly grabbed the two items and left his mother's room, making sure not to leave behind any evidence of his snooping around. He went to his room where he made sure to keep them hidden in case his mother ever came here to look for them. And after that, he headed for his brother's room.

There he saw his brother lying on the bed just staring at the ceiling. Gohan could immediately tell what Goten was thinking about. The younger sibling diverted his attention from the ground when he noticed Gohan standing in the doorway. He tried to give Gohan a smile, but the older brother could see right through it.

"Are you okay Goten?"

Goten gave a sigh. "I don't know Gohan. With everything happening, I just don't know." The fear that his mother would get full custody of him and never seeing his father again was taking it's toll on him.

Gohan sat next to his brother and hugged him. "Goten, I found something in mom's room which I hope can provide evidence of her secret plans. I'm going to show it to Bulma tommorow so we can figure out it's contents. If it gives us a clue, we can use it against her in court. The more evidence we have against mom in court, the higher the chances are of dad getting full custody of you."

"But mommy could also make daddy look bad. She insults him all the time and makes him look like a bad person when we know he isn't!" Goten replied to his brother's words.

"Goten, just have faith in dad. We both know he can pull through. Dad said he wants custody of you so he's going to give it everything he's got in court. Believe in him Goten. He can do it." Gohan said softly.

Goten gave a smile. "I love Dad a lot Gohan. I believe in him."

"That's the spirit. By the way, Bulma is organizing a get together party very soon at Capsule Corp. You'll get to see Trunks again. How would you like to attend?" Gohan asked his brother, awaiting a response from him.

"I would like that Gohan, but what about mom? You know she would make both of us study all day long. She wouldn't let us go." Goten answered. The thought of going to a party at Capsule Corp sounded pleasing to him, but ChiChi wouldn't like the idea of them going.

Gohan closed his eyes for a split second and began to think. Goten was right. Their mother wouldn't let them go to this get together party, so how would they be able to go? If she were aware, she would do everything in her ability to stop them from going so how would this be possible? And almost immediately after that thought crossed his mind, Gohan cracked a smile which made Goten give him a confused look.

"Goten, I have a solution. I'll ask mom if we can go. And if she refuses to let us go, we'll sneak out. It's not fair that she doesn't let you go outside." Gohan gave a wide smile.

"But what if mom discovers we're gone?"

"That doesn't matter anymore Goten. You deserve to go outside and have fun. Mom doesn't allow you to do any of that. She never gave you the chance to go outside ever since we moved into this house and I'm not letting this opportunity go to waste. What do you say, Goten? Would you like to go?"

"I'm going." Goten said in a firm voice.

The two Saiyan hybrids gave each other a smile and fist bumped each other. At the moment, nothing much mattered. They didn't care what their mother said as they were both determined to not allow her to ruin this chance for them.

Back at Jingle Village...

Goku had just arrived back from the mayor's house after he had spoken with Himari. She had been so helpful as his talk with her had given him a much clearer mindset. He wanted Suno to know that he genuinely felt the same way about her. 'Tell her why you love her. Tell her when you started to fall in love with her. You said she's feeling lonely right? Now's your chance to make her feel special. Prove to her that that you love her. The only advice I can give you is believe in yourself. As long as you say what's in your heart, everything should go smoothly.

However, even though he had a resolve to confess his feelings to Suno, Goku had no idea of the events that had transpired while he was away from his friends and family. And little did he know, finding out the truth was going to fuel his already strong determination of getting custody of Goten.

Goku knew that everything would go smoothly. He had to talk to Suno today. The Saiyan couldn't allow her to keep holding back her pain when he knew for a fact that she deeply loved him. He wanted to be her source of comfort. Just like she was for him. From the very beginning, Suno had been supportive of him. She had shown nothing but kindness towards him. She had comforted him when he was in pain. It was now his chance to comfort her when she was in pain. Goku wasn't going to allow Suno to keep holding back her feelings. By the end of the day...

He was going to show her just how much he loved her. He was going to make her his.

Goku could hear the setting of tables and he knew Suno and her mother were busy getting dinner ready. It was settled then. He was going to talk with Suno alone after dinner.

He went to the living room and found Suno and her mother, who had just finished setting the table. Suno's father was working late and Eighter was resting in his room so it was just Suno, Kaiyo and him.

"Goku. You're here. Please let me serve you your dinner." Suno said as she gestured for Goku to sit on the chair while she scooped up some food for him. He complied and waited while she was serving his food for him. As Suno had her back towards him, Goku studied her body language. On the outside, she was looking happy and energetic but at the same time Goku could tell that she was holding something back. And he knew what she was holding back. Her feelings for him.

"So Goku, how was your day today?" Kaiyo asked to break the silence.

"It was pretty good. I had a lively conversation with the mayor today." Goku answered. It wasn't true. The Saiyan originally wanted to talk to the mayor but found out he wasn't home so he got help from Himari, his helper. He didn't want to say what he wanted to talk to the mayor about to Suno and her mom as he didn't know how both women would react to it.

"That's great. I suppose it went well?" Suno asked while she placed Goku's food in front of him.

Goku smiled at her. "Yes, it did."

The topics began to shift wildly as the three of them began to eat. Laughter filled the air, bringing a positive atmosphere. After dinner, Goku helped Suno and her mother with the dishes and went to his room with only one thought on his mind.

Goku decided to get himself cleaned up and after that go talk to Suno. He could sense her energy nearby. As soon as he was done getting himself ready, he saw Suno by herself in the living room and she appeared to be lost in her thoughts. The look on her face looked like one who was gloomy. One who felt nothing but complete sadness. When she took note of his presence, she smiled but Goku knew it wasn't a real smile. It was a fake one. It was time to make things the way they should be.

"Hey... are you okay?" Goku asked softly as he took a seat beside his friend on the couch. What Suno didn't realize was that things between her and Goku were going to take a turn for the best since their friendship was about to blossom into something more. He placed a hand on Suno's shoulder and squeezed it gently, hoping to ease some of the pain she had been feeling. Goku knew that deep down, Suno's true feelings were sadness even though on the outside she was acting as if she was jovial. She was trying to suppress her feelings for him and act as if everything was okay.

"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" Suno smiled at him, while enjoying the feel of Goku's hand on her shoulder. She scooted closer to him as she said, "I mean... everything's going well." She could feel her voice quivering but she wasn't going to cry. Not in front of Goku.

Goku could tell that she was lying through her teeth. He closed his eyes and said, "Suno, there's something I need to talk to you about. Is it okay if we talk outside?"

Suno was confused by this but she nodded her head without saying anything as she didn't trust her voice at the moment. Her throat felt heavy and she was afraid that she would burst into tears if she tried to speak. Goku walked to the front door with Suno following closely behind him.

Once they were outside, the two began to walk a long distance from the house. Suno was confused because she didn't know where Goku was taking them nor did she have any idea what Goku wanted to speak to her about, but she continued to follow him to wherever he was planning to go.

"What is it that you want to speak to me about that you had to drag us all the way out here?" Suno asked in confusion while maintaining her fake smile.

Once they were far enough from the house, Goku gave a silent sigh and grabbed both of Suno's shoulders gently in order not to hurt her. He gave her a soft look and asked, "Suno, what's really bothering you? I could tell that something was wrong when we were at the dinner table." Goku already knew what the problem was, but he was hoping for Suno to tell him herself before he took action.

"Goku, what are you talking about? Nothing's bothering me." Suno replied to him. Her throat began to feel even heavier as she talked. "I'm perfectly fine. You... don't have to worry about me."

Goku shook his head. "No. You're not okay. It's written all over your face."

"But I'm fine." Suno insisted as her gaze was on the ground before she faced Goku again. "You don't have to worry about anything. Nothing's wrong with me!" She was surprised that Goku was able to read her emotions so easily. Her facade was starting to crumble and Suno was beginning to feel as if she had been defeated. She didn't know what else to say to convince Goku that she was alright even though deep down, she knew she wasn't.

"Suno, there's no reason for you to lie about this." Goku said as he looked at her softly. He was surprised that Suno was trying to deny all of this.

"Goku, I'm telling you that nothing's bothering me!" Suno insisted while raising her voice a little bit. "Can we please leave this alone!? I'm fine." How was it that Goku was able to see through her emotions like this? How was this possible? First, her mother was the one who was able to do this and now it was Goku.

"Suno." Goku said with a serious voice and he had a stern look on his face. He clearly wasn't pleased with her at all. "You know, you looked happy when we were in the house. But despite that happy expression on your face, I could tell you were holding something back. Tell me what's wrong. I want to know the entire truth. Don't you dare lie to me!" His voice was raised slightly as he stared into Suno's eyes, daring her to lie to him again.

Even though he wasn't yelling, the tone in Goku's voice and the look on his face made her gasp. She also admitted it scared her a bit. Why was he making it so difficult to suppress her feelings? Why didn't he want to leave this alone?

"G-Goku?" Suno took a step back from the Saiyan in shock. She didn't have the willpower to speak right now. When she looked at Goku's face, he looked absolutely serious. "I... I..." The frightened woman stuttered with her words as she had never heard Goku speak this way before. She avoided his gaze, not wanting to look at him. He had scared her with his voice.

Goku realized that he frightened her with his voice so he gave her a softer look as he said, "I'm sorry for the way I just spoke. It's just that I'm really worried about you because you seem to be holding something back. What's wrong Suno?" The Saiyan father mentally slapped himself for doing that. 'I'm such an idiot. Why did I snap at her like that? She's only struggling to let out her feelings!' This reminded him of when he snapped at his friends. That was when he was a complete wreck from ChiChi and his sons leaving him and he wanted to be alone. But this was Suno. The woman who had fallen in love with him and who he loved very much in return. Goku only wanted her to open up to him about her true feelings and his stupid ass just had to go and frighten her like that.

Suno still didn't want to tell Goku anything as she went on to say, "I'm fine Goku. Nothing's wrong with me."

Seeing that Suno was still trying to deny that nothing was wrong, Goku decided to take his next approach towards this as he went on to say, "You definitely aren't okay. The look on your face tells me otherwise. Last night, I overheard a conversation between you and your mother. You guys were talking about... me."

Goku quickly took notice of the fact that Suno's expression turned into one of shock. This couldn't be. "How... how much of it did you hear?" Suno was shocked that Goku now knew of her feelings towards him. The feelings that she had been trying to keep from him until he was through with his divorce. Goku knew everything now and she had no other choice but to tell him how she really feels. At the same time she had to be prepared to hear the worst from him. She had to be prepared if he decided to turn away from her because of it.

"I heard everything." Goku responded with a soft look as he could tell that the red haired woman in front of him was about to cry. "Suno... please tell me everything." The Saiyan grabbed one of her hands and squeezed it softly, hoping that it would provide some kind of comfort for her.

Suno began to stare at the ground as she didn't want to see the look on Goku's face. Goku was saddened that she was refusing to look at him. "Alright... I'll tell you. You see, the truth is that I've had feelings towards you for quite some time. Ever since we met as kids actually. When I asked my mother back then if we could keep you, I assumed it was because I was worried about you after I saw you lying unconscious in the snow. But then I began to realize that it wasn't just worry. It was a small crush at that time. After you left to go back to West City, I... I couldn't stop thinking about you. I didn't know what to do or if I should seek advice from someone. It was prior to when we met again that my feelings towards you had become even stronger than they were before. When you told me you were getting divorced and your wife took your two kids with her, I felt terrible. I put off telling you how I felt because you were overwhelmed from the separation and the upcoming divorce. What kind of person would I be if I just dumped my feelings onto you while you were going through a hard time? I was afraid... I was afraid of losing the friendship I have with you. I didn't know if I should keep my feelings to myself or if I should even tell you at all. When you told me you were planning to get custody of your youngest son, it wasn't that I wasn't happy if you got custody of your son but it was because if you left, I would have never gotten the chance to confess my feelings towards you. To put it bluntly, what I feel for you is love. I love you Goku. And the truth is that if you left Jingle Village... I would feel lonely because I would be battling my feelings for the person I love. I would be lonely because I never got to tell you how I really felt. My parents and Eighter would be there for me, but the person who I truly love wouldn't be there with me. It... It doesn't matter if you don't feel the same way towards me. You're about to get divorced and you only see me as a friend so it wouldn't... it wouldn't work out anyway." Suno couldn't control her emotions anymore as tears were flowing down her cheeks. She was crying heavily and there were no signs that her tears were going to stop anytime soon. "I... I told myself that I would be there for you through thick and thin even if you don't love me the same way that I love you. I wasn't planning on telling you any of this until you were through with your divorce. You don't have to give me an answer now Goku. It... it doesn't matter anymore." She began to cry even harder as she stared at the ground. Suno didn't even want to look at Goku even if she was finished speaking because she didn't want to see the look on Goku's face if he ended up saying that he didn't feel the same way about her. She was trying to wipe her tears fervently but to no avail as they just kept falling and falling. Suno was pretty sure that Goku was going to say that he didn't like her the same way. After all, they were just friends and they wouldn't be anything more than that.

Goku's heart began to cringe as he looked at Suno with such a soft look. He knew Suno didn't want to look at him and even though he wasn't showing it at all, it was hurting a lot. It was as if Goku could tell what she was thinking. She was expecting to hear the worst from him. Possibly a rejection so she didn't want to see the expression on his face as he did so. But that wasn't the case. He loved Suno just as much as she loved him.

Goku watched as Suno's tears were falling down her cheeks. He couldn't see her face since she was just staring at the cold ground. The Saiyan didn't know what to say at the moment so he did something he didn't think he would do.

Goku pulled Suno into a hug and allowed her to cry into his chest. He couldn't care less that his shirt was wet from her tears as he wrapped his arms around Suno protectively. Due to her face being buried into his chest, her cries were muffled. The Saiyan father felt a twinge of sadness in his heart. Suno was crying because of him. All he could do was rub her back softly and wait until she had calmed down. Goku genuinely loved Suno and he was going to make sure she heard him out. The fact that his love was in tears, made him want to start crying too.

"Goku please. Let's leave this..." Suno began to say through her tears but the Saiyan cut her off.

"Alone?" Goku finished the sentence for her as he was holding her in his arms. "Are you kidding? No way. Whether you like it or not, you're going to hear me out."

Suno continued to cry into his chest and Goku just continued to embrace her while looking at her in sadness. He hated seeing her like this. He hated seeing her broken and her resolve crumpled. She thinks he was going to reject her.

Once Suno's sobbing seemed to die down, Goku used a finger to touch her chin and lift her face to look up at him. Once she was finally looking at him, Goku was now in full view of her face. Her eyes were red from crying. "Goku... I told you it doesn't matter anymore. I-I'm sure you don't feel the same way about me. Why don't we just put all of this behind us and then we can continue to be friends, all right?"

Suno made an attempt to leave but Goku grabbed an arm to stop her in her tracks. He could see that Suno was still trying to avoid his gaze. He lifted a thumb to stop her tears from falling. Goku gave her a soft look and said, "Suno... please look at me."

When she finally did, the Saiyan could see that there were still unshed tears glistening in her eyes. It made his heart cringe, seeing Suno like this. Goku gave a deep breath and began to speak. "Who said I don't feel the same way about you? The truth is, I also began to love you the same way you love me. When I told you about my upcoming divorce, you did nothing but comfort me while my soon to be ex wife did nothing but make me feel miserable throughout our marriage. You never left my side even after I told you about the Saiyan race. You're the one who was able to put a smile on my face every time I was feeling down. My wife may have made me miserable, but you're the one who truly made me happy. Ever since we got married and had our children, she had been calling me and our children delinquents. She was the kind of person who never seemed to realize what was at stake because she was always thinking about her own feelings. She'd make our children study even if the earth was in danger and she never seemed to understand that fighting was in my blood. It was something I had been doing ever since I was a kid. But you..." Goku used a hand to touch Suno's cheek. "You're a kind hearted woman. You help others in need without any hesitation. The more I spent time with you, the more I began to realize that I love you. You said I don't love you the same way, but you're wrong. Suno, if there was one thing that my marriage lacked, it was love. I couldn't love ChiChi no matter how much I tried but with you, it's different. I feel like I've found someone who will finally respect what I do and somebody who will always have my back just like I have hers. I'll admit that at first I didn't understand what my feelings were towards you because I thought it was just some kind of friendly affection. The love that I should have felt for my wife... I'm feeling that love towards you. The affection that I never got from my wife, you're the one who's been showing me more affection and making me feel loved. The smiles that I don't see on my wife's face, I'm seeing those smiles on your beautiful face. I wasn't happy with my marriage Suno and for once I'm glad that I'm going to divorce my wife because the one who's been helping me get through this painful ordeal is my true love. My true love is standing before me. Right before my very eyes. I don't like seeing you in this pain because of me. I don't like seeing you cry because you'll be lonely after I leave. I'm right here with you Suno. Please don't cry." Goku began to stroke Suno's cheek gently as he looked at her with a soft expression. "It hurts me to see you in this pain. It's hurting me that you were keeping all this to yourself."

Goku squeezed Suno's hand softly, waiting for a response from her. Her hand relaxed under his touch and despite the fact that she still had tears flowing down her cheeks, she appeared to be relaxing.

But on the inside, Suno was shocked. She felt stupid to believe that Goku didn't feel the same way towards her. When she looked at his face, she could immediately tell that Goku was being sincere about his feelings. The way Goku spoke about her... it made her want to cry again. But those tears weren't tears of sadness. They were tears of joy. Goku cared about her so much. She wanted to be with him. She wanted to stand by his side and help him get through his divorce as well as giving him moral support during his custody hearing. If possible, she was going to do everything in her ability to help Goku out as much as she could because Goku's happiness meant the world to her. Suno was going to be there for Goku through each and every step. She could tell that Goku wanted her to be there for him.

Suno managed a smile through her tears, enjoying the feel of Goku's hand on her cheek. She began to release sniffles as she wiped her tears. "Goku... I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you also felt that same way. I had been so focused on keeping my feelings to myself. I kept trying to pretend that things were okay when they really weren't. I love you Goku. You've been through a lot, so I didn't feel that it was right to just dump my feelings onto you. I... I wanted to put your feelings first before my own even if it was going to hurt me. I thought our friendship would change in a negative way if I came forward with my feelings. You're the only person I ever want to be with. I don't want to lose this chance of being with you. You mean the whole world to me..."

After hearing those words, Goku pulled her closer to him. Their faces were closer together as they were about to show a display of love and affection for each other. The Saiyan grabbed both of Suno's hands in his and gave her a smile which warmed her heart. "Please promise me that if something's ever bothering you, you'll come to me. I want to be your source of comfort. I want to be there for you just like you were for me. I promise I'll be there for you always. You won't feel lonely anymore."

"Is that a promise?" Goku whispered softly.

"It's a promise Goku." Suno whispered back with a smile on her face.

Goku's hand was resting on her cheek while Suno's hand was on Goku's chest. Goku tilted his head as his lips drew closer to Suno's and without thinking, he closed the gap between him and Suno as he kissed her in such a rough manner. At first, Suno was shocked and then she opened her mouth to give him access as she was responding to their kiss. The Saiyan never had this feeling of desire at all while he was still married to ChiChi since they rarely ever kissed at all and partly because of her stubbornness. The only times he remembered kissing ChiChi was on their wedding day and on the rare moments they were actually alone together. ChiChi had been the one to initiate them and even then he felt nothing but complete emptiness when he kissed ChiChi. But with Suno... it was completely different.

Goku kissed Suno on the lips with such force and passion that he was surprising himself. Suno's hands were tracing down Goku's chest before she eventually put them around Goku's waist and deepened the kiss. They were both enjoying themselves in their moment that they didn't want to stop. Both Goku and Suno paid no attention to their surroundings as their kiss was becoming more and more passionate. Suno could feel her hat falling off from her head as she kissed Goku's lips softly but she didn't care because her moment alone with him was what really mattered.

They both pulled away from the kiss and looked into each other's eyes. Suno asked with a breathy voice but yet it was filled with so much lust, passion and most of all love for the man in front of her. "How... How did you like that?" She soon found herself cupping Goku's face in her hands as she asked him this.

"I think you already know the answer to that." Goku replied, his face full of love and affection for the woman standing before him. His voice was breathy from the kiss they just shared. He stroked her cheek gently as he went on to say, "You know, I should have realized my feelings much sooner. But I was oblivious the whole time... you were faking your emotions while hiding your true feelings for me."

"Goku... don't blame yourself for this. You were going through a difficult time with your wife leaving you and taking your sons along with her. You needed time to grieve for your loss and despite the fact that I was... hurt, I understood that you needed time." Suno said to Goku while she placed a hand on his cheek.

Tears began to slide down Goku's face as he looked at Suno. "Thank you so much... for understanding the pain that I was going through. I love you so much."

"Goku, please don't cry..." Suno replied while looking at him. Her tears were threatening to spill once more as she saw that Goku was crying. She was wiping his tears away with her finger as her tears finally poured down her cheeks once more. "I love you too, and I'll... I'll always be by your side."

"Your words mean a lot to me." Goku said as he pulled Suno into another hug, holding her tightly in his arms. They were both crying hysterically.

Hearing that response from Suno seemed to fuel Goku as he pulled away from their hug, tucked a strand of Suno's red hair behind her ears and pulled her in for another deep and passionate kiss. Her body pressed against Goku's as they were in the act of lovemaking. All thoughts, feelings and desires were put into that one passionate kiss. When it seemed that Suno was pulling away from Goku, the Saiyan pulled her back in and kissed her lips so fiercely that it surprised himself. Suno's eyes widened as she wasn't expecting that but she began to show that same fierceness Goku had just shown her. Nothing else mattered except for that one moment between them. Words didn't need to be said here as their display of love was proving everything.

Hours later...

Goku was sitting on a large boulder nearby and had just gestured for Suno to sit on his lap. He loved the fact that she was nestled comfortably in his arms as her head was resting on his chest and he had his strong, muscled arms wrapped around Suno's being and it was in a such a protective manner. Somehow Suno wasn't finding herself to be cold anymore as she realized that being in Goku's arms was protecting her from the cold. Their makeout session had ended a little while ago and the two of them were finding comfort in each other's arms.

They were no longer crying like they were before.

"Suno?" Goku's voice broke the still silence. Suno raised her head up to look at Goku. "My friend Bulma said she'll be organizing a get together party very soon. How would you like to come along with me? I think it will be a great opportunity for you to meet my friends as well as my sons, Gohan and Goten."

Suno gave him a soft smile. "Of course. I would love that. I'll come with you."

Seeing that Suno's head was still raised at him, Goku took that opportunity to lean in closer and give her a soft kiss on her lips. Next, he placed a hand on hers and squeezed it gently.

"I didn't realize you harboured feelings for me for that long Suno. You held on to those feelings for years until we met again." It was at that moment that Goku began thinking about how his life would have changed if he got together with Suno instead of ChiChi. Noting how different the two of them were, Suno showed more care and actual love to him than his own wife ever did. And it was something that he actually appreciated. Suno's presence and her warm smiles were enough to make him happy on each and every day. ChiChi had constantly yelled at him on each and every day and they hardly ever acted as if they were a couple. ChiChi made him feel miserable but Suno made him feel like the happiest man alive.

"Yeah. I held on to hope that we would meet again and we did. But we're together now aren't we?" Suno placed a hand on Goku's cheek and gave him another kiss. "I love you so much Goku."

Goku hugged her gently and kissed her forehead. He ran his fingers through her soft, red hair before he replied. "I love you too Suno."

He grabbed one of Suno's hands into his and looked at her. "Now that we're alone right now I need to ask you these two questions which I want you to answer truthfully." Suno nodded, ready to hear whatever Goku had to say.

"Will you be my girlfriend and go on a date with me?" Goku asked while holding Suno's hand, waiting for a response from her.

Suno looked at him for a moment. Goku gave her a soft expression but she could also tell that he was being serious. Once again she had tears falling down her face which Goku was wiping away. She finally addressed him as she said, "Yes. I'll go on a date with you. I'll be your girlfriend."

Goku kissed her passionately once again and Suno couldn't help but moan against their kiss. He smiled at her as he used his hand to caress her cheek softly. "You know you mean everything to me right? Aside from my sons, you mean the whole world to me."

"Yeah. I know." Suno replied, smiling at Goku as she put her head back on Goku's chest which the Saiyan accepted.

"Do you want to go back to the house?" Suno asked softly.

Goku shook his head. "No. Let's stay here a little longer. We've both just let out our thoughts and feelings. Let's spend some time together." Suno just smiled as she was satisfied with Goku's answer. Truth be told, she didn't want to leave either as she was enjoying the feel of Goku's strong arms wrapped around her petite figure with such protectiveness.

Suno looked at Goku with concern. "Are you okay Goku? Is there something you want to say?"

"You know... as I've stated before, the only good thing to come out of this marriage were my sons Gohan and Goten. They're the ones who kept me going each and every day. They mean everything to me. They're the only reason why I stayed together with ChiChi... all she ever did was sprout out hateful words towards me. Knowing how far she would go to stop me from training is hurtful towards me. She kept telling me that my martial arts abilities were useless and that it wouldn't get me anywhere. Every time she did these things, it made me question why I was still staying with her. Every time I thought about leaving her, I think about my two sons. How would they feel if I just got up and decided to leave their mother? It just didn't feel right. It wouldn't be fair either especially to Goten. I wasn't there for the first seven years of his life and knowing that I wasn't there for him during that time when he needed me was heartbreaking." The Saiyan father's face was flashing with guilt. "I'm sure he was wondering who his father was and... why he wasn't there for him."

"Goku..." Suno soon found herself using her hands to wipe away tears that were falling down his cheeks. "Everything's going to be okay. You'll see Goten again."

The Saiyan father tightened his hold on Suno as his tears continued to fall freely. "I may not know every single detail of what happened to you all those years, but I really don't believe that you're the kind of person your soon to be ex wife makes you out to be. Do you want to know what I think of you?" Goku looked at his girlfriend with a small smile. To Suno, it was heartbreaking to see Goku in tears.

Suno wiped away some of Goku's tears as she grabbed one of his hands, which he graciously accepted. She began to speak slowly. "I think you're a kind hearted person. You did your best for both of your sons. You think you aren't perfect but both of your sons look up to you so in their eyes, they think you're perfect. If ChiChi doesn't appreciate you or what you did, than that's her loss. She's already proven that she doesn't deserve a wonderful guy like you. You risked your life to save the planet, you tried doing what was best for your family and you sacrificed your own thoughts and feelings for the sake of your sons. Be strong for both Gohan and Goten. ChiChi doesn't appreciate you, but if there's somebody who does... it's me. I'm going to be here with you through every step of this painful journey, no matter how long it takes." Suno gave Goku a firm look as she said this. She truly wanted the best for Goku after everything he had been through. He didn't deserve the treatments ChiChi gave him. Goku needed someone to lean on for support and right now, she was here for him.

Goku gave his lover a tear filled smile after realizing just how serious she was. ChiChi had always had negative thoughts about him. But Suno... the way she spoke about him with that fiery passion was heartwarming to no end. He loved the sincerity in her voice as she spoke.

The Saiyan father touched Suno's cheek gently. "Thank you so much. You don't understand how much your words mean to me. I really appreciate it. When I came back to my family... I thought that Goten would despise me for not being there for him during those seven years. I thought that he wouldn't accept me as his father. But I was wrong. He... He looks up to me. There isn't a single day that I hear him say one bad thing about me. That's what I want. Despite ChiChi saying bad things about me, Goten never hated me but he loved me the way that a son should love his father. Another one of the things I didn't realize I really wanted was a woman who would appreciate me and love me for who I was. She's relaxing in my arms right now and I'm glad I found her." Goku said with a smile. He was putting aside strands of Suno's red hair as he looked at her. The look on the Saiyan's face was one of affection. "I love you Suno and I'm going to keep saying that over and over again. Nothing's ever going to change that."

Once again, tears were once again falling done Suno's face. She was speechless. "Goku... thank you so much for your words. I didn't realize how much I needed to hear that from you. I love you too and I'm willing to be there for you in court. Your happiness means everything to me."

Goku tucked a strand of hair behind Suno's ear and looked at her with a loving smile on his lips. He caressed her cheek softly and he could tell that Suno was enjoying it. One arm was around her waist.

"I appreciate you too Suno and I'm glad you're in my life again." Goku said while leaning his face closer to Suno's.

"Me too..."

Goku gave Suno a soft, passionate kiss on the lips once more. Suno closed her eyes as she returned the kiss. The kiss went on for a few more minutes before they pulled away.

The look on Goku's face turned into one of complete regret. Suno noticed this and asked, "Is there something you want to get off your chest?"

"I don't know if sometimes, I just say things without thinking about them." Goku murmured. The guilt over what he did earlier was starting to eat at him.

This caused Suno to look at him in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"

"I've always ended up saying things that I don't really mean. First it was with my friends when I kept telling them to leave me alone. I was so upset with how things had escalated. And then the second time was with you... when I snapped at you when you were struggling to open up about your feelings." Goku said with guilt. "I really just wanted you to open up to me about your feelings but I ended up frightening you."

"Hey." Suno said softly as she used both of her hands to grab his face. "I'm not upset about that. It's... It's my fault for not having the confidence to speak up about my feelings. You were only worried about me and little did I know, I had to let my feelings come out." She gave him a soft smile.

"Suno..." Goku began to say.

"I wouldn't have had it any other way." Suno interrupted. She leaned up to Goku and planted a soft, tender kiss on his lips before she pulled away. "Don't worry about it. I would never be upset at you."

"I'm... I'm so lucky to have you." Goku smiled at her, as he ran his hands through her soft, red hair.

"I'm lucky to have you too." Suno smiled. "You've changed my life in so many ways. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else but you."

The Saiyan father opened his arms wide and Suno soon found herself resting in his arms once more. She allowed her head to rest on his chest and Goku placed his strong arms around the woman who was now his girlfriend. He kissed Suno's hair and looked down at her petite form. "I want nothing more than you relaxing with me right now." Goku said as he ran his hands through Suno's soft, delicate hair.

"Me too. We're... We're both going to have a new start tommorow aren't we?" Suno asked as she wrapped her arms around Goku's waist.

"Of course. Things will change for both of us." Goku answered with a smile. He was already starting to imagine what tommorow would be like with him and Suno now being a couple.

"I'm glad about that." Suno murmured as she nuzzled her head against Goku's chest which caused the Saiyan to give her a soft smile. He found his girlfriend so adorable especially when she did that.

Goku surprised Suno by grabbing one of her hands and placing a kiss on it. Suno looked at him in shock. "Goku...?" Looking at the expression on her face, Goku proceeded to say, "I would do anything for you since I now know that you're the love of my life."

"I would do anything to show you just how much I love you." Suno responded as she laid back against Goku's chest. All Goku could do was chuckle at her. Right now, he was happy that he was with the woman he truly loved.

"I'm well aware of that."

Goku gave a loving smile at the woman who was resting in his arms. For almost the entire night he and Suno would whisper sweet words to each other or Goku would occasionally kiss Suno on the lips or on the forehead. He wasn't exactly sure what was going to happen between him and Suno from this point onwards, but what he did know was that he loved her with all of his heart. He would do anything to keep her safe. He would do anything to keep the smile that always seemed to warm his heart on her beautiful face. She was standing by him during the toughest situation of his life... she took his thoughts and feelings into consideration. That was the kind of person Goku wanted to be with. It was exactly the reason why he had fallen in love with her and he was glad that he found his way back to her after all these years.

Goku swore that he would never ever do anything to hurt her in any way. He would do just about anything to keep her happy just like how she made him happy during this difficult time. Goku was happy that he was divorcing ChiChi because he now realized that he found his true love. And no matter what happens from this point, he would always treasure Suno and his love for her deep in his heart. In the back of his mind, he swore that he was not going to lose her the way he did with his soon to be ex wife. He knew that his love for Suno would never die.

End of Chapter 6.

To be continued...

Author's Note: This chapter is one of the best ones I've ever written with Goku and Suno confessing their love for each other and realizing just how important the both of them are to each other. I keep reading this chapter over and over again. Remember to leave comments whether it is to give a positive review or for constructive criticism. And about the court scenes, it will happen in a future chapter. I'm going to do my part in brainstorming ideas. I want it to be as emotional as possible. If you guys have any ideas for how the divorce and custody hearing for Goten should be like, feel free to put it in the comment section. What do you guys think is going to happen with ChiChi, Gohan and Goten?
