Chapter 3: Big Discoveries…

Log – Day 15 (2900m): so there are according to my PDA and my Environment Scans around 35 lifeforms in the leviathan class or bigger, 16 of them leviathans. There are 4 sea treaders at approximately 3500m depth, and 5 Ghost Leviathans between 1000 and 3000 meters. 500 meters south is an extremely hot place, probably a cave system like the lava zone in the crater; there are 3 sea dragon leviathans and 2 sea emperor leviathans there. There are 2 reefback leviathans at 2000, but in a wider range there are probably more, as they are the prime food source of most Torrent Gargantuans (only 450m long, being one of the smallest species in the Gargantuan class), whom are detected around 3 in the same radius. In a wider range there are probably around 7 Prime Gargantuans detected, there are maybe more. Those are all known species, leaving around 9 more unknown leviathans or Gargantuans. My Cuddlefishes don't like it. Neither do I, but I think I don't have a choice; there are metal masses scanned. Maybe Degasi Wrecks, maybe Alien structures: both are useful enough. I'm worried about the possibility of living precursors: their technology is extremely advanced, but is their hospitality?

Log – Day 17 #1 (3700m): No. no. no. no. no. No. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.
Okay. Breathe. Breathe…

*Inhales heavily, then exhales and starts crying*

I… I… I'm gonna die. Yes. The things…

*sniff*
Wait.
*PDA beeps*

Log – Day 17 #2 (3700m): Okay. Don't panic. Don't. Okay. Listen.
Remember the prime gargantuan?
Fuck, there's more. More. I don't know. It was like a reaper, but black… around 2 kilometers long I think, with a massive mouth, 200 meters thick... but the head. It had six tentacles around it, and it was sleeping in is hole I think, a big cave in the wall of the volcano… the tentacles… as big as reapers, at least… fuck!

*starts crying again, and PDA beeps*

Log – Day 17 #3 (3700m): I made a picture, I got it when it woke up… I swam away as fast as I could, entered my cyclops, silent mode, flank, and GO. I'm at the other side of the crater now. But it probably swims around it in 2 seconds. I just… picture is attached to the log. I can't… but I need more materials. I am not gonna last long enough without.

Log – Day 18 #1 (4000): Haven't slept. I descended down a little and the cave of the Serpent Gargantuan (as I call it) is through the whole volcano. That is NOT what I want. I got around it, and I am on the bottom of the cave. I dared to go out my cyclops and entered the cave, and it's a little like the lost river: it has the same green substance and there are evolved Jellyshroom Leviathans (passive and scanned) of 200 meters long. I'm going deeper, but I don't think this is the only Serpent, just as the Sea Emperor (bad name) wasn't. there are multiple passive Sea Dragons and Sea Emperors here: I think it's the food source of most Gargantuans. Wait…

*Cracking sound*

"So, did you come here to play? Or merely to investigate? Others came here once… They built the forcefield. They were scared of me… I wonder if you would let me free, or keep me safe… Not that you would add anything to my calorie intake, haha... Oh, check your screen thing. I added information to it."

*Cracking Sound*

What the fuck

*PDA beeps*

PDA – Data Entry à Fauna à Other Lifeforms à Gargantuans à Serpent Gargantuan – Received Data, added environment scans:

This huge creature usually lives in herds of 5 to 10, living in large empty biomes at 7000 to 15000 meters deep. Despite their enormous teeth and predator appearance their only food is micro-bacteria. The assets are only used to keep other fauna away from their nests or territory. The eggs are protected by the mother for 2 earth years before they hatch: the juveniles then are 100 meters long, and they grow to their maximum length until their third year. They become independent and swim out to make their own herds, coming back after many years to lay their own eggs. The Serpent Gargantuan scanned is trapped in a forcefield. Scans are detecting the technologies are similar to those from the Precursor Primary Containment Facility and Gun, and is possibly trapped for the same reason as the Sea Emperor Leviathan. As seen on the photo that is taken, there is an light source and air above the cave, probably leading into an Precursor Facility. The forcefield connects to a power source with signals from around 10 kilometers depth, most likely in a cave system. To disable this forcefield you have to shut down all power, but maybe there is an advanced on/off switch in the nearest facility, 4500m depth. This facility is most likely the control room of this forcefield.

Snake-like body:

This body shape also occurs on the Ghost and Reaper leviathans and the Prime Gargantuan, marking it as a theory those fauna is related. The body has muscles that curve the body. Those muscles are extremely strong, maybe because the body is used to grab things, like the Earth constrictors used to strangle other lifeforms before they went extinct.

Six tentacles around the head:

The tentacles are only used to steer and swim, also seen by their shape: they most likely cannot bend to point forward. They resemble the tentacles of the Sea Dragon and the Sea Emperor.

Bulb trails on the body:

The bulbs seen on the body are used to filter micro-organisms to directly feed the muscles. This is most likely because the body is too big to transport everything through the whole body from one point.

Head and Skull:

The head and skull really resemble the Sea Dragon and Prime Gargantuan, as seen in the head shape and the little tentacles on the nose. Just like many lifeforms on 4546B it has 4 eyes.

Assessment: May be passive. Encounter with extreme caution.

PDA – Added Note: Scary.
