Chapter 1: Crash Landing
A/n: Ok so a quick heads up, This story is gonna escalate real fast so sorry on my part if the pacing for the beginning is too quick for anyone's liking. I always struggle with how to properly start stories. Hopefully this is a good start for this fanfic.
Also this chapter may be short and I apologize for that, but the chapters will be longer than this.
-Georgia-
Jesus school was taking forever to end. School more like Seven Crappy Hours Of Our Lives. I couldn't help, but pay more attention to the clock on the wall than whatever bullshit was coming out of my teacher's mouth wasn't gonna remember what he was talking about even if I did listen.
1:30...1:35...2:00.
"Just ten more minutes and we're outta this hellhole at last.", David spoke from behind me.
Summer break was just ten minutes away so goddamn close. The school bell finally rang and I wasted no time packing my things and dashing out of the classroom like there was a fire.
"Jason hold on! Wait for me!", a female voice called out.
I slowed down just a tad bit and turned my head to see Stacy. One of my female friends approached me holding her belongings as well panting hard after running after me. "Oh Hey Stace.", I smiled.
"Who's ready for summer break!", David yelled.
"Who isn't?", I joked.
We joked and laughed as we all made our way out of the school. "So what are you two doing for your summer break?", Stacy asked with curiosity. "I'm going to Ocean city with my grand parents."
"I'm visiting my cousins in New Orleans.", David answered. "What about you Jason?"
My best guess is probably nothing like every other summer. I've always wanted to go out of town, but my parents could never really afford it. "I'll probably just chill in my bedroom for the whole summer like always.", I said.
Now we were outside of my house. "Well I hope your summer break is just as eventful as ours.", David emphasized patting me on the back.
"Eh, I'll try.", I shrugged. I then waved goodbye while watching the two of them get further and further away. "Until next year..."
I hated school with a passion, but it made me feel better that I wasn't the only one going through school life. It hurts to see the people you've spent so much time with leaving you to go live their lives somewhere else, but it's not like I won't see them again in tenth grade.
I clutched the chain around my neck and used my house key to unlock the door. I stepped inside closing the door behind me. "Mom! Dad! I'm home.", I announced making my presence known.
"We're in the living room.", Dad called to me.
Heading to the living room I found my father and mother on the couch watching a nature doctumentary. I set my bookbag next to the couch and joined them, lazily plopping on the couch next to mom.
"How was your last day at school Jason?", My father asked.
"Meh."
I just spent the whole day waiting for it to end. Now I'll have to wait for three months just to see my friends again being stuck in this damn house.
Mom leaned forward giving me a worried look. "Are you ok?", Mom worriedly asked.
"It's nothing.", I shrugged.
Dad then proceeded to smile, "We almost forgot to tell you the good news.", Dad mentioned my Mom also began smiling for some reason that was unknown to me. "What good news?", I questioned.
"We're going to Africa!", They both announced with excitement. After hearing it come from their mouths my heart skipped a beat. I actually couldn't quite believe it.
"Hold on really?", I blinked. "You two aren't pulling my leg are you?"
They then showed me plane tickets as proof they weren't playing around. "When are we going?", I asked in anticipation.
"In about a good hour or so. You should start packing some stuff we're gonna be there for a good long while.", Dad stated. I nodded and headed upstairs into my room.
I had felt so happy upon hearing the news, the happiest I'd ever been in a long time. I'd be going out of town for the first time and I'd be doing something fun for the summer. I wonder if I'll get the opportunity to meet a Lion. That'd be a dream come true for me.
"We'll it's probably best not to keep my curiosity waiting.", I thought happily.
-18 Hours into the Plane Ride-
I stared out the window of the plane while listening to ferocious storm roaring outside the window. I shifted my gaze to face my Mother and Father who were fast asleep like most of the other passengers.
Suddenly a bright light flashed through the window along with some terrifying turbulence struck the plane. My heart raced while I clutched my seat as the plane rocked from side to side.
CRACKLE!
BOOM!
Everyone else seated around us seemed unaffected including my parents who hadn't woken up from the sound of thunder. I peaked out the circular window seeing flames quickly spreading across the left wing.
I took a deep calming breath to relax myself and left my seat heading for the plane cock pit. I pushed and squeezed my way through all rows of chairs getting closer and closer to the cockpit now in front of the door that lead inside the piloting area.
Knock!
Knock!
Knock!
"The plane's caught fire!", I yelled.
BOOM!!!
The last thing I remembered was the plane crashing and shaking violently once again sending me flying into the wall. The last thing I saw before my vision blurred were my parents now awake rushing to my side.
"Jason!"
"Jason!"
"Jason..."
