Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Mechs and Mayhem. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Borderlands; Gearbox and a few others do.

Moze climbed out of the rubble and started to hear talking.

"Oh, we got a live one… put your guns down, one Vladof Iron Bear unit isn't worth it." She and her Iron Bear looked up to see a Flash Trooper along with an Arbalest assault mech.

Her Iron Bear pointed its weapons at the duo while the soldier bristled.

"Lady, if you're going to shoot us? shoot us, I think it's a waste of ammo… but then again, I am Maliwan... or former Maliwan, so technically? I'm formerly a scumbag." He joked before turning to the mech next to him.

"You good since I tore out your Maliwan loyalty circuit?" the mech asked before Moze looked at the soldier again.

"What are you doing anyway? shouldn't you be reporting to command?" Moze didn't mean it, but she was curious why a soldier was waiting for someone to climb out of the rubble.

"Lady? Command doesn't give a damn about us and you know it. they're just going to file this under 'operation oops' or some crappy title and move on… second? I was looking for guns, ammo, fuel for the walking armory next to me… something you should do." he paused for a second before looking over his shoulder.

"You coming, lady?" he asked before patting the mech next to him and resting a Cyclotron shotgun on his shoulder, he might have been able to use other guns… but he preferred Maliwan weapons even if he stopped working for them.

"Going…?" Ail could still feel her guns trained on his back, he patted the blaster pistol on his hip.

"To come to the only damn Maliwan dropship still around on the planet that can get us out of here? unless you'd like to stay and wait for a better plan to come along here?" Ail leapt down from the ledge and started walking away, his shotgun draped across his shoulders all during this.

"If you're going to come? Pack up some guns, get some bullets, pick apart those war mechs and come. Your Iron Bear is going to have to stay in the cargo hold like most of Maliwan's soldiers do…" He walked away while the Arbalest looked at the duo for a moment before leaping down and following his owner.

Moze looked at Iron Bear, who looked at it's owner for a moment before she started looking through the wreckage.

(10 minutes later)

Moze found Ail leaning on the dropship, without his mech around. he keyed in a code and the door opened.

"You going to shoot me and take it?" Ail asked, turning his head entirely to the ship.

Moze watched the man hunch over, probably used to killing and death. Then again, they had just been through a war, one which killed all the soldiers around them, it numbed them to the pain since they had killed off the rest of the military.

"Your just full of life, aren't you?" Moze joked as the soldier looked at the former Vladof Commando.

"I just watched a bunch of soldiers, most of which don't give a damn about me and only signed on for severances and to get what they want. I joined a company now run by a man child who last I heard? Is gunning for Atlas. Lady? If you're going to kill me because I'm Maliwan, do it. I really don't care at this point, just do me a favor and put a bullet in my boss next time." he stated, with nothing short of pure annoyance for his enemy.

He hated his boss, Katagawa, the man had the tactical leadership of a goldfish, had no loyalty to the men under his command like the rest of the Katagawa family did.

He hummed and watched Moze climb onto the ship as he sighed and followed.

Ail had no idea what was going to happen in the future, only that his boss was going to die if he lived.

He'd hunt down Katagawa, put a bullet through his head and take over the rest of the group… Maliwan deserved better leadership then the deathly loyal Traunt Family who had less brains then a bandit clan.

"You know we're going to have to go somewhere to eat or something… and I don't have a single dollar in my wallet." Ail waded to the controls, having no real idea what was going on.

"Hmm." Moze took over the controls, ail shrugged and settled into just dealing with the aftermath of the failed siege.

Wherever they went? He didn't really care, but if she left him alive? He'd own Maliwan by the end of this year.

"Ugh, this is going to suck." Maliwan dropships usually only had room for one pilot, but this one was larger, it needed 2. He knew Maliwan was one of the most powerful companies… but it wouldn't last the year.

Author Notes

Phew, another chapter done! I'm going to point out that neither Moze nor Ail get along yet. next chapter is going to show them making a pitstop for supplies and set up them coming to Pandora. I also want to point out that Ail is a very dry and reserved character. Next chapter will be in a week or so. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
