The Last Ranger
Inspired by a PJO and MHA crossover fic. Includes many references.
Prologue:
One change. That was all it took for destiny to change. Everyone knew of Demiyah Oliver the soon to be sixteen year old who revolutionized medicine for the Rangers and saved the world time and time again. She had a bright future ahead of her. But one day she went missing shortly after being given the Pterodactyl and Dragon Power Coins by her parents.
Daniel Kaminari, her closest friend and confidant was sent a premonition of a future where there were heroes and Demiyah was standing proud with a boy who looked like him. Which meant the boy was his descendant or his reincarnation. He heard the name Denki Kaminari so he filled a journal with letter from the Rangers and placed it in a safe deposit box to be opened when a boy named Denki Kaminari turned sixteen. With Helios' help he packed up Demiyah's things. Her movies, books, gear, computer, and all of the gifts she had from family events. Before one day, The Rangers Morphers were sealed by a spell in various places. Daniel escaped the seal, but asked him Gem to wait for Denki. He didn't know why this boy would be important to his Best Friend. Before he returned home he saw various flashes of light and wondered just what the Morphing Grid just did.
Chapter 1: The Hero From The Past!:
Four hundred years past since Demiyah went missing. The world changed but no one ever forgot the girl who spread hope. She became the Symbol of Hope. There was a festival in her memory in Odaibah every year. It was held on her birthday Every June 30. Daniel took his kids and grandkids to it. then they took their own children and grandchildren to it. Denki was planning on going to the festival that year. When something happened that would cause the entire World to turn.
Eraserhead, All Might, Present Mic, and many more were raiding an abandoned villain base. Denki, Eijirou Kirishima, Izuku Midoriya, and Tenya Iida were in a lab when Izuku of all people screamed, "Holy Shit! There's someone in a cryotube over here!" The heroes walked in as All Might said in shock, "Young Midoriya, you have somehow solved a four hundred year old missing person's case. That is Demiyah Oliver. Everyone would be shocked to discover her body has been in cryostasis the last four centuries." Tenya Iida said in shock, "Sensei, according to this computer, she isn't dead. It's saying she alive." That got everyone shocked as Eijirou asked in amazement, "She's really alive in there?" Iida nodded. The Heroes called in medics to transport the cryopod to UA High.
The media was in an uproar outside the school. While Present Mic handled them, the medic and some lower level fire Quirk users were slowly melting the ice. The pink Gem on her bracelet began pulsing with light causing Demiyah to open her eyes in the first time after 400 years. Her amber eyes fluttered open as Eijirou Kirishima looked at her with the spring sunshine glowing behind her. She was beautiful. The two talked for a little while as she cried for the loss of her family.
She asked if they could walk around outside. Which meant they would be in view of the media. The media swarmed even more as they saw the so called 'dead' Symbol of Hope. They asked her questions about her time and what life was like before Quirks. Demiyah shook her head and chuckled, "Four hundred years and the one that doesn't seem to change is reporters. First off, I suppose I would be a ward of UA unless some descendant of my family exists still somewhere. As for education, I wanted to get some fresh air and sunshine before discussing it with the Principal. I was quite literally on ice for four centuries. As for how I feel about the loss of my family, well, talking is never easy for me. So hopefully this helps."
Demiyah: Walking my childhood shore
I miss you so
Mama my music's yours
I cry till the water's blue
Where the stars still sing
Remember when we sang it too
As the sun rises and falls
I close my eyes and you
Return to me
Return to me
On waves of Cosmic melody
No magic can make you reappear
But in the song of the stars
You are always here
Papa you'd be so proud
The way I shine
Wish that you could see me now
Oh great spirit of the Land, Sky, and Sea
Please hold their Hearts
For all of Eternity
And like a Comet's Lullaby
I know you always will
Return to me
Return to me
On waves of Cosmic melody
No magic can make you reappear
But in the song of the stars
You are always here
Ooh
Always
Return to me
Return to me
On waves of Cosmic melody
No magic can make you reappear
But in the song of the stars
You are always here
But in the song of the stars
You are always here
Always
The entire school and all of the reporters were crying. Even those watching were crying which included the League of Villains save for Shigaraki. It was a testament to the members wh shed tears. Himiko wore her hair is Sailor Moon odango because she admired the raspberry haired girl for her strength. Dabi once said as a kid he wanted to be a Hero and be the Symbol of Courage like Demiyah Oliver had become the Symbol of Hope. However both of them ended up joining the League of Villains. It made the pair rethink their decisions seeing their long thought dead idol standing there answering questions.
Himiko Toga by birth Davia Togata the cousin of Mirio Togata wanted to be just like Demiyah Oliver. To be able to show the adults, you didn't have to be a grown up to be a good hero. To help people with her Quirk when it came. But her parents abused her after she awakened it. It was why she ran and joined the League of Villains because they made her believe she could never do ANY good with a Quirk that used blood as a catalyst. But now that her idol was there, she idly wondered what she thought.
Dabi, by birth Touya Todoroki was the older brother Shouto, Fuyumi, and Natsuo Todoroki. He watched old videoes of Demiyah no matter what Hero Persona she used. Because, she inspired Hope in everyone. She taught people that Family didn't have to end in blood. It continued in the Bonds of Love and Friendship they made. She taught people that Heroes weren't just those who wore a costume and had super powers. She trained to become a doctor and worked closely with the police despite her powers. She taught people that Doctors, Fire Fighters, and Police Officers were just as much Heroes as the ones who fought the villains. Because she said Heroes couldn't help everyone at every moment. The Everyday Heroes she called them stating that real Heroes did what they could to protect no matter what. While, it may seem disgusting, sometimes Heroes had to put down a threat because not everybody could be saved. Not everyone wanted to be rescued. Seeing the young but wise Heroine, he couldn't help but wonder. What will happen now?
After she dispersed the reporters, Demiyah was led by Present Mic to the Office of Principal Nedzu. She sat down as the Principal said, "You are something of an annomaly Miss Oliver. Legally Quirkless, but you have more power's and abilities than any other student here. My question is this. Why would you want to attend the Hero Course? Wouldn't General Studies suffice for you if your goal is to become a Doctor?" Demiyah's eyes held a far off look, "My Aunt Dana used to tell me, 'The ones who abandon those they care for are scum, but are far lower if they refuse to help the every day person.' I was a Hero once. Doing whatever I could with my powers to protect the people. It was always my duty, my destiny to protect the people of Earth and beyond the stars. So I intend to continue on that path. If I need to complete the Hero Course here then I shall. I vow here sir that I will do everything in my power to protect my classmates and care for them as I would my own family. I will stand by their sides until no semblence of myself exists any longer. Even when my inner star no longer shines."
Present Mic was intrigued. As a child he read his anscetor Takeru Takaishi's journals and books. He once wrote Demiyah as an inquisitive girl with a heart of gold and loving spirit. He said in his journal, 'Demiyah is something of an oddity. a fierce fighter but a wonderful friend. She's the sort of person who could probably make a long time villain change sides because of her kind and empathetic nature. Her past was riddled with sadness and hurt but she never let it get to her. Instead she turned her pain into a strength and a motivation to fight for a brighter future. A future where people were judged by their own actions. Not their powers or the circumstances of their creation. Just they as individuals. Present Mic had to wonder, what it was that made Takeru say and think that? Who as an individual was Demiyah Oliver? This was one mystery that would take time.
Shouta Aizawa called into the Principal's Office was told, "Shouta, it has been decided that Demiyah Oliver will be joining your class come Monday. Please accompany Midnight in taking her shopping. She will be housed in the Dorms for now until we can track down any living relative. Adoptive or otherwise."
Demiyah while mindful to what she spent, was sitting in her new dorm room. Her room seemed pretty bare. She laid on her bed and said aloud, "Wish Helios was around then maybe I could find out what happened to my things." A sparkle of light revealed the Stallion Reave. It glowed showing the white haired Guardian of Dreams. She smiled and asked Helios what happened to her belongings. He in turn revealed Daniel sent them all to Elysian. He said the Amazon Trio, Peruru, Selene, Artemis, and White Blaze would pack up her clothes and personal effect such as her photo albums, movies, music, and her posters would be delivered to the school in a few days. Her Star Locket would be delivered as well.
The weekend before school, there was some boxes delivered to her dorm room. Midnight asked, "So what's in these things?" Demiyah smiled "Some personal belongings. I found where they were hidden. So I sent for them." The first thing she pulled out was picture of her and her parents Tommy and Kim. It was the last one taken before she was held in cryostasis. She put the frame on her desk as photo albums and her books were placed on her shelf. on one wall her few posters were put up. On another her collection of Keychains for her Keyblade were mounted. Her last shelf was full of her movies and music. Her clothes put in her closet and dresser. Finaly she set her Star Locket on her bedside table. It felt like her room finally not a bland dorm room. Midnight asked, "You miss your mom and dad don't you?" Demiyah let a few tears drip on her face, "I really do. They were always there for me. Cheering me on and giving me support no matter what. Now, I'm all alone. I know have to be strong for their memories, but I can't help but feel sad. Knowing every single person I ever loved is gone. My home, my entire life is gone, because I wasn't able to escape fast enough." Midnight, "For what it's worth, I think you were meant to be here. You said in your first interview as a kid, 'Everything happens for a reason.' Maybe you were needed here the most. Because of the fact Hero Society is starting to fall. The people were starting to lose Hope. You were called the Symbol of Hope. Maybe it's your job to restore the Hope the people started to lose." Demiyah hugged the older woman, "Thanks for the pep talk Aunty Midnight." Midnight smiled at the title she had been given. "Anytime Princess."
