Etheria, year 5891

A great war is brewing on the once peaceful planet. To one side, the conquering Horde, consuming all in its path. To another, the Alliance, where Kings and Queens struggle to maintain the peace.

As the common people suffer in attacks from the Horde that the Alliance is stretched too thinly to defend, a band of champions rose up, led by a young man named Trevor Belmont, who wields a whip of magical properties.

As he defends the people, mysterious monsters never before seen have risen up in the crimson waste, bringing with them plague and famine.

Now, all will change, when one young man, will be faced with the worst of possibilities.

Out of the whispering woods, and past a field of pink flowers, lies the canyon that leads into the Fright Zone, capital of the Horde, a metropolis of spires and wires built into a crater.

Within the canyon is a lone man, with jeans, boots, a red sash, a blue tunic with black shoulder pads with a symbol on his back of a white dragon fighting a black dragon, with a black armguard on his right hand, and a white glove that reaches his elbow on his left hand. He is tall, and lined with slim muscle, his face is handsome, with a light tan, and silver hair that reaches his chin, and blue eyes that seem to glow in the darkness of the wasteland. He snarls as he approaches the metal city, "I'm coming for you, Isaac."

-ELSEWHERE-

In the barracks, a teenaged girl is getting dressed. She is wearing a white long sleeved shirt, black pants, a green belt that boasts the Horde Symbol, red boots, with a slightly hardened face, accentuated by the blonde hair kept in a ponytail. She is donning armor of green glass that lights up. She looks at a picture taped to a punching bag of a shadowy figure with a twisted smile, "Hey, Princess...You looking at me?"

She kicks it, before the intercom goes off, "All squadrons report to the training area immediately for evaluation."

She runs over there, finding that a tall and muscular lizard man in a red tank top with fingerless gloves has arrived first. She runs up there with a scrawny boy with a mop of blonde hair, and a dark skinned girl with a thicker and more muscular frame than her, with her hair kept in cornrows. She whispers to them, "Anyone seen Catra?"

They all shrug, making her groan, "Not again."

"At attention cadets, your training exercise will be traversing through the whispering woods to reach the heart of the rebel insurgents, Bright Moon. The mission is to defeat the queen of the princesses and liberate in Lorde Hordak's name."

The drill sergeant, a blue muscleman with quills on his body, spots the missing cadet, "And where is Catra?"

The girl assures, "She will be here, I promise."

The drill sergeant continues, "The whispering woods will be full of princesses. Vicious and violent instigators. They will take you out if given a chance. Don't give it to them. Good luck recruits."

A doorway opens behind him, showing a jungle gem of spires and branches, an artificial forest of metal. The girl presses a button on the side of her visor, giving to her a modest heads up display. That's when she spots three princesses.

They start shooting red lasers at them, and they scramble. As they run, they spot a series of spheres that open up thin legs to start walking and shooting at them as well. The girl throws a grenade at it, making it collapse due to EMP. The girl orders, "This way!"

Unaware, they are spied on, by a pair of mismatched eyes, one blue, one yellow, with an animalistic growl.

As they run, the blonde boy is shot in the chest and falls with a red x on his chest. He groans, "Dang it."

The girl adds, "Seriously, Kyle?"

The other girl crosses her arms, "Bra-Vo."

They quickly get surrounded, and make a run for it.

As they run, the girl hears a low beeping below her.

The cornrow girl cries out, "Adora!"

Adora looks down to see the panelling she is standing on is now red.

She steps off quickly as the ground collapses from under her. And out of the hole is one more robot. Only this one is...Wild guess, a hundred times bigger. On the HUD, what they see is the shadowy queen shooting at them. As they dodge, Adora pulls out a baton that extends into a staff.

She uses the staff to vault around the laser shots. She lands on the sphere and begins jamming the staff into whatever she can and jumps off.

Adora watches a girl with torn, purple leggings walk by bare footed with black claw like toenails with a black tail. She has on a red tank top with a belt hanging loosely along her hips. Her arms are firm, lined with brown stripes. Her face has a mischievous look, with a smirk, angular features, freckles, ears poking out above her mane of brown hair, with a red headpiece that looks almost like a crown. A literal cat-woman.

She leans against the robot, making it fall into the chasm. She points to Adora's feet, where the ground collapses under her. The girl strolls up to the new hole and chuckles, "Hey, Adora. How's it hanging."

Adora is dangling from her staff, stuck in between the walls, and growls, "Catra, did you really show up late to let us do all the hard parts? That is low, even for you!"

Catra coos, "Aw, you know nothing's too low for me."

With a laugh, she helps her up, "Now come on, you look stupid down there."

The intercom blares, "Training exercise successfully completed."

The pair are now at the lockers, where Catra is doing a childish reenactment of the squad, making swishing sounds, and martial arts hoots. Adora, now wearing a red short sleeved jacket, groans, "Catra, we are senior cadets. We don't need to keep doing childish, immature-IS THAT A MOUSE!?"

Catra stops what she's doing and stares in the pointed direction, "Where!?"

Adora laughs now, "Are you ever not gonna fall for that?"

Catra snorts, "I dunno, you ever gonna stop reminding me? It was one time."

Adora smiles, "I know. But it's always funny."

"Adora…"

A sinister voice calls out, making Adora stand on the edge of her toes. Out of the shadows steps a woman in a dress red, almost like blood. Her right sleeve is much more loose, but this shows her left hand is chalk white, almost claw like. She's wearing a mask just as red with a crystal in the center, and only white slits for her eyes, ears pointed, her hair levitating in the air. Adora gives a salute, "Shadow Weaver."

She speaks in her fake generous voice, "You have done well, completing the training course in record time."

Adora humbly replies, "Well, that wasn't just me. I had a team, and Catra helped a lot."

Shadow Weaver contempt can be heard, "Ah, yes. How someone as unmotivated as you completed that course in record time, I'll never know."

Catra looks away, "Always serving out pep talks, eh, Shadow Weaver?"

Shadow Weaver's voice deepens as her hair grows and blocks out the light, "Silence! Do not be flippant with me, cadet."

Catra halfheartedly complies, "Sorry, Shadow Weaver."

Shadow Weaver moves to the door, "Adora, walk with me."

Adora follows the levitating woman, "Lord Hordak has been watching you. He thinks you are a fine candidate for Force Captain."

Adora shockingly asks, "Really? Force Captain? Lord Hordak said that about me?"

Shadow Weaver replies, "Oh yes. He sees great promise in you. In fact, he has elected you in having the honor of leading a squadron in the invasion of the rebel fortress of Thaymor."

Adora's eyes widen, "Thaymor? You mean we're going into active duty?"

Shadow Weaver points to her, "You will see active duty."

Adora's curiosity gets to her, "But I'll be able to bring my team along, right?"

Shadow Weaver bluntly tells her, "Your team is not ready. They'll only slow you down."

Adora becomes bold, "Shadow Weaver, with respect, they've been training hard for this too, and Catra only wants to go out there and prove herself."

Shadow Weaver counters, "Then she should've worked harder to prove herself to ME. This is what I raised you for, Adora, now is your chance to prove yourself. I saw talent in you when I found you as an orphan child and took you in. Is this not what you've wanted since you were old enough to want anything?"

-ELSEWHERE-

While the tallest building in the Fright Zone is indeed Hordak's palace, there are several spires that come a close second. Hunched over on one is a dark skinned man, with no hair, not even eyebrows, dots tattooed to the left side of his face, wearing only white robes. A small fairy with a pink crystal piercing its body flies up to him, whispering in his ears. He smiles, "So, you've returned, prodigal son."

-LATER-

Adora is leaning against a railing, holding onto the green badge with the bat wings that symbolizes that she's a force captain. She puts on the badge onto her jacket and walks off, but is tackled by Catra, who pesters, "What'd she say? What's this?"

The blonde demands, "Give it back!"

The Catgirl holds it high, "No way! You've been promoted!?"

Adora blushes, "Well...Kind of...Not yet. It's not a big deal."

Mismatched, innocent eyes look into hers, "Are you kidding!? That is awesome! We'll see the world and conquer it! Adora, I need to blow something up!"

Adora interrupts the purring, "Um...Shadow Weaver says you're not coming."

Wheel's stop turning in her brain, "WHAT!? My time was just as good as yours today. What is her problem with me?"

Adora looks away, "I mean...You were kind of being disrespectful."

Catra points out, "She's done nothing and has nothing besides Hordak to keep her powerful. She's done nothing to earn my respect. She likes people pleaser like you."

Adora follows after her, "I'm sorry, I didn't know you even wanted to be a force captain."

Catra tosses the badge back, "I don't. Here. Take it."

Adora catches it, and Catra continues, "I just wanna get out of this dump before I die of boredom. We haven't even seen outside the Fright Zone."

A key is tossed to her, and the blonde beside her chuckles, "Why don't we find out?"

-ELSEWHERE-

The silver haired man runs past the main gate of the Fright Zone, passing by steel beams. He stops eventually, and calls out in an echoing voice, "Show yourself, Isaac! I know you're here."

All he hears is the howling of the wind. A smooth voice calls out, "Hector? Is that you?"

He looks forward, finding the dark man in white robes. Standing beside him is a demonic creature with leathery wings, curved horns, claws, and a pink crystal piercing it's chest. Hector snarls, "I finally tracked you down."

Isaac lightly chuckles, "You tracked me down? I was the one who lured you here."

Isaac removes his robes, "Hector...The fool who betrayed Lord Dracula...For Carmilla of all Vampires."

Hector clenches his fists tightly, "That matters not! While I was naive before, that doesn't excuse my betrayal, even if I didn't mean to. I've come to exact revenge on you! For the death of Rosaly!"

Isaac glares at him, "My priority is rebuilding the army and ensuring Dracula's final wish. How do you know it was me? For all you know it could've been that sun kissed Vampire girl...What was her name? Lenore?"

Hector grabs his shoulder, remembering a phantom pain, but the dark priest continues, "And how will you exact revenge when you have no power? You relinquished your powers so that Carmilla's sisters would lose interest in you. Couldn't even protect the one human you actually loved. And you think you can beat ME? I've spent three years getting stronger, while you were nothing but Carmilla's slave. And how did I do that?"

Hector gasps, "Devil Forging…"

Isaac nods, "Indeed. Now I have an army, and I plan to put it to good use. Now please, begone, I have a meeting with the lord of this domain for a...Mutually beneficial alliance."

Hector points out, "And since there's only two Devil Forgemasters left in Etheria...To my utter shame my powers were used against my consent. While I refuse to use that power for the rest of my life, I will regain that power, if it means my revenge!"

Isaac nods, "Then let it be a game. Who will have revenge first, you or I?"

Isaac walks away, making the forgemaster call out, "Wait! Isaac!"

He's suddenly hit by something, and it sends him off his feet.

Darkness greets him.

-LATER-

"I take it back, you're officially awesome! I can't believe you actually stole a skiff!"

"Borrow! Please don't make me regret this!"

This is the banter between the two, unaware that dragging at the bottom of the skiff is Hector's unconscious form. Catra pushes Adora out of the way, "I've always wanted to drive one of these things, give me!"

The two start to argue over the controls, going further and further into the wasteland. Eventually, they find themselves deep in the forest. They hear snarling sounds, making Catra ask, "What is this?"

"This must be the whispering woods. No Horde squad has ever been able to map it, because they never return."

Catra smirks, "Let's go in!"

She revs the skiff, knocking Adora to the floorboard. She looks forward, "Tree!"

A vine grabs Hector by the ankle and he's now dangling upside down. Meanwhile, Adora is snagged by a vine around her neck.

-MEANWHILE-

Hector awakens upside down, and remembers what happened, "So, let's summarize my life. Mom and Dad hated me. Made sure they had nothing to do with me ever again. Met the lord of the night. Joined his army. Accidentally betrayed said army. Found love. Love betrayed me. Lost power. Found REAL love. Love murdered by someone who has something against me...Although I still think Isaac did it...And was run over by two girls around my age. I can't tell if it's the world that hates me or if my luck with women is that bad."

He sees a blue light in the distance, and pulls out a blacksmith hammer out of his pocket. Using the sharp end he cuts himself free. He lands near Adora, who drearily calls out, "Catra?"

Hector crosses his arms, "No. Hector. The man you ran over."

Adora's eyes widen, "That explains so much. Wait, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, we've never had permission to drive those before."

Hector shrugs, "No issue. Now would you like to explain where your friend is?"

Adora doesn't answer, instead looking behind him. He follows her sight to a sword with a golden handle with a blue crystal at the base of the blade, with blue light shining out of it, nature growing itself into a sheath for the sword.

She walks up to it, and Hector stops her, "Are you sure you want to mess with that?"

Adora's eyes start to glow, "It's kind of cool looking."

Hector sweats as she continues, "That does not answer my question."

The blonde touches the sword, and everything becomes a bright blue. The light clears, and Adora is in the lap of the other girl. Adora sits up, "Catra, what happened?"

Hector nods his head, "I did warn you that the sword might not be messed with."

Catra looks at him, "Who are you anyway?"

"Hector. The guy you ran over and dragged under your skiff for ten minutes. Unconscious."

Catra's eyes widen, before she looks away, "Oops. Sorry."

Hector assures, "No issue."

Adora looks around, "Where is the sword? It showed me some stuff."

Hector's sight hardens, "Then in that case, stay away from it. That isn't natural."

Catra takes Adora back to the skiff and flies off, "What he said. If we stay out too late. Shadow Weaver will kill me. And then demote you."

Hector looks around, "Now then, what do I do next? Do I really dare to take up Devil Forging once again? Rosaly, forgive me."

Hector runs off, brandishing a sword, running until he can feel the dark energy he once forsook.

After the brightest moon has set, he finds a garden, surrounding a fountain with a statue of a stone pixie. Hector glares, "This unearthly power...Is it coming from the pixie?"

That's when he has an epiphany, "Isaac left this here. How conscientious of him. He carved the instructions into stone, along with the most difficult visualization. He even signed his name. So that's how badly he wants me to regain my power. But do I dare? Carmilla will sense my return."

Hector thinks of Rosaly, the blonde maiden in a modest blue dress. He inhales, "Very well. Heed my words, O great powers of darkness! Release to me one of the tortured souls! Let me infuse him with my life-force and awaken him to the world of the living! Immaculate Being...Appear before me now."

The pixie comes to life, with a bob of hair, but an otherwise featureless body glowing blue. It has four dragonfly like wings, with a pink crystal coming out of the end of it's spine, like a bumblebee stinger. It floats around Hector before landing on his hand. Hector mirthlessly chuckles, "What a seemingly innocent looking creature. I think I'll call you...Chi."

Hector looks around and spots a treasure chest. He gets an idea, "Chi, unlock that treasure chest."

Chi points its hands at the chest, and it opens, revealing silver metal. Hector grabs it, "Dragon Ore. Very useful."

Author's Note:

So the year is She-Ra's original debut in reverse.

Hector takes after the classic game with a blend of the Netflix show, while Isaac is essentially the show version, not much of a large ham. And they're both young adults, not "Just out of puberty" teenagers, but they are old enough to date the supporting characters without an age gap to gross people out.

Speaking of which, since the original game had little plot (Castlevania 3 I mean), it will follow the Netflix show. And yes Hector chose to cut off his own power to get away from Lenore and Carmilla. He got lucky they didn't kill him.

Also, since at this writing season 4 isn't out yet, mass guessing on my part.

If some parts were a little dialogue heavy, sorry.

Now this, I've uploaded as I wrote it. Now if there's any errors, constructive criticism is ideal.
