"I want to talk."

These were his words last time.

"I'm withdrawing my divorce petition." He said.

"What… what do you mean?" I asked.

He must be joking, right? What did that even mean?

"You didn't really think I was going to leave her, right?" he laughed.

"I trusted you." I was too shocked to react, but still I managed to say that.

"I know." He said, "I had a great time with you, and I'm sorry for ending it like this." He said.

He had a great time with me? Was this just all about that?

"But I think I've realized I'm not ready to leave my wife." He said.

We were completely fine before I left for an outdoor shooting two weeks back. Did those two weeks change everything? Did he realize that during that time that I was not the one he wanted? Did he realize he didn't love me at all and that I didn't mean anything to him?

"I'm sorry for what happened between us, and I'm sorry I couldn't understand my feelings earlier," he said.

I didn't even know how to react. It felt like I was looking at a completely different person.

"I understand," I said.

I was too shocked to say anything on that day, and we didn't have any conversation on that topic after that. I had accepted that as a fact, without questioning anything.

But I had no control over my thoughts after I heard Angela's gossip. I wanted some answers. I knew this was not going to help in anyway, but I needed them, at least to calm me down.

"Talk about… what?" he asked. He knew what I was talking about, but he had to ask.

"About everything." I replied.

He waited for around five seconds before responding, "Okay. We can talk now. Let's go."

We went to his makeup room and he pulled up a chair for me.

"Tell me."

I had revised quite a few times about how I'd approach him, but this was difficult. I wasn't even sure if I was ready for this.

"I…"

Before I could say anything, I heard a Facetime chime on his phone.

"Excuse me," he said as he pulled out his phone from his pocket, "Riley is facetiming me."

I sighed. I didn't know why and what exactly I wanted to discuss with him. His family meant everything to him, and I was just a distraction that happened last year for some duration. This conversation wasn't going to give me anything but a disappointment. I think the best idea would be to tell him that I didn't want to have this conversation with him any longer once he was done talking to Riley.

"It's okay," he said as he disconnected the call without answering, "She can wait."
