Hiccup's POV:
"You've done it! You get to kill the Dragon!" Gobber cheered at me. I was picked up by Fishlegs who had put me on his shoulders. Most of Berks villagers had gathered around the arena to applaud and cheer at me. When I glanced up at my Dad, he was smiling a big proud smile at me. "Let's celebrate this victory up at the Great Hall everyone." My Dad announced to the whole of Berk. Once I was placed back down from Fishleg's shoulders, I stood in the middle of the arena and watched everyone head to the Great Hall. Once I was sure that everyone was gone I took off running towards my house as I knew I could never kill a dragon and if I did, I would lose Toothless trust. So I knew I had to take Toothless and leave Berk forever.
No One's POV:
When Hiccup got to his house he ran in and went straight upstairs to his room. On the way to his room Hiccup grabbed a basket so he could pack his things. He went to his closet and took all his clothes and put them in the basket, followed by a pillow and blanket, books and spare books. Next Hiccup went to the forge and grabbed all his drawings off Toothless and plans for Toothless tail. He also grabbed some spare leather, papers, and charcoal and put them in his basket. Then went back to his house to write 3 letters.
Once the letters were written Hiccup placed one on his Dad's bed then went to Gobber's house and place one on his mentor's bed. And the last letter was placed on the young blonde Vikings bed. Hiccup then grabbed his basket and ran into the forest to the cove. But what he didn't know was that a certain blonde Viking was following after him.
Hiccup's POV:
At the Cove
"We're leaving, we are so leaving. Come on Toothless let's pack up and take a little vacation... Forever." I sighed as I place my basket down which was full of the necessities that I needed. Toothless came running over to me and he jumped on top of me causing me to fall to the ground. "I know bud. It's good to see you too." I kneed Toothless so he would get off me. After he finally got off, he gave me his toothless smile. "What do you say bud, wanna leave this place for good?" I asked him. In return for an answer, Toothless jumped around in a circle with his toothless smile. "I take that as a yes." I laughed at my best friend's behaviour.
I was checking my basket making sure I had everything that I needed and wanted to take with me. So I made a list in my head and went through my checked list checking it off.
'Clothes... Check, Books, and spare books... Checked, Spare leather... Checked. Drawings of Toothless and his plans for his tail, papers, and charcoal... Check and Check.'
I was just about to close the lid of the basket when I heard a branch snap and footsteps behind me. I turned to look at the spot where Toothless was to find him not there. He must have hidden when he heard the snap. After letting out a breath that I didn't realise I was holding. I turned to see Astrid standing at the opening of the cove with her axe in hand ready to strike if needed too.
When my lifetime crush was walking towards me I stumbled backwards. "Um... Wha... What are... you doing here?" I stammered. "I wanna know what's going on? No one gets as good as you. Especially YOU! Star5t talking. Are you training with someone? It better not involve this?" She said as she grabbed my flight suit top. When I looked into her eyes all I saw was pure rage towards me for beating her in dragon training. "What me? Training with someone?" I said trying to lighten the mood up a bit. That's when I heard a growl from behind me and knew that Toothless was the one behind me. By the look on Astrid's face, I knew she saw him/ " HIccup don't move there is a dragon behind you." She said with a slight hint of fear in her voice. I turned around and saw Toothless walking towards us with his teeth showing and growling. "Get Down!" Astrid shouted as she pushed me down to the ground under her. I got up just as Toothless started to run at Astrid and as Astrid was about to yell out her battle cry. I grabbed Astrid's axe and disarmed her then threw he axe along the ground out of Toothless sight.
I jumped in between Astrid and Toothless putting my arms out signalling to calm down to Toothless. "Calm down!" I said. "You just scared him, that's all" I explained trying to keep Toothless back. "I scared him! Who is?"
"Astrid meets Toothless. Toothless, Astrid." I introduced them to each other. Toothless snarled at Astrid, while Astrid on the other hand just shook her head as she stumbled backwards then took off running through the forest back to the village. "Dun Dana... We're dead. Whoa whoa... where do you think you're going?" I asked an annoyed Toothless.
Astrid POV:
I can't believe that fishbone beat me in dragon training. Out of all people, it was him. It should have been me that won, not him. I was sitting on the steps that led to the Great Hall, everyone was celebrating, but not me. As I was sitting there I noticed a figure heading towards the forest so I decided to follow this person, to see who was sneaking around the village. A few meters into the forest I saw the person that I wad following was Hiccup and he had a basket on his back. "What are you up to Hiccup?" I said to myself as I thought out loud. I carried on following him deeper into the forest as he came up to an entrance into somewhere. I hid behind a tree so he wouldn't see me.
I crept up to the entrance to spy and to see what he was up too. But I couldn't see anything, I only could hear him. "I know bud. It's good to see you too." I heard hem say. I was wondering who he was talking to since I didn't see anyone else enter. "I take that as a yes." What's a yes I thought. I then decided to enter to see what was going on. As I took a step I had ending stepping on a branch and it went 'snap'. Crap I thought, so much for being sneaky. I waled the rest of the way in and saw that it looked like a cove and it was beautiful. I then looked at Hiccup who stumbled backwards which a shock expression on his face.
"Um... Wha... What... are you doing here?" He stammered. "I wanna know what's going on" No one gets as good as you. Especially YOU! Start talking. Are you training with someone? It better not involve this?" I said grabbing him some sort of suit that he was wearing. "What me? Training with someone." He said sarcastically. I let go of his weird suit thing and took a step closer to him. That was when I heard a growl from somewhere behind Hiccup. Then I saw a black creature... no not a creature a dragon. And no just any dragon but a Night Fury. "Hiccup don't move there is a dragon behind you," I said with fear in my voice. As Hiccup was turning around slowly the dragon started to walk towards us while growling and showing its teeth. I then pushed Hiccup to the ground while saying "Get down." Just as I was ready to strike the Night Fury, Hiccup disarmed me and threw my axe to the side then he jumped in between me and the dragon. I was waiting for the dragon to attack Hiccup and was shocked and relieved at the same time when it didn't' attack him at the same time. "Calm down." He said to the dragon which I thought was weird.
"You just scared him, that's all." Hiccup said as he turned to face me while holding the dragon back. "I scared him! Who is him?" I asked in a shaky voice. "Astrid meet Toothless. Toothless, Astrid." He introduced us. The dragon that Hiccup called Toothless was still growling at me when I realised that Hiccup befriended a dragon, who is our enemies and that Hiccup was a traitor to our village. I stumbled backwards before taking off into the forest back to the village, si I could tell the Cheif about what Hiccup has done. As I was just about to land after jumping off a log, something grabbed my right arm, then I was lifted away from the ground. I screamed then looked up to find Hiccup sitting on top of the Night Fury. The Night Fury carried me above the trees when suddenly I was dropped onto a tree branch and the dragon landed on the branch beside me making the tree dip towards the ground. "Hiccup get me down from here!" I demanded while trying to hold on for dear life. "Astrid please..."
"I'm not listening to anything you say!" I interrupted. "Then I won't speak. Just let me show you. Please, Astrid." Hiccup said as he held out a hand to me. I looked to the ground then at Hiccup and knew that going with Hiccup was the only way down. I then started to climb on up onto the branch that I was hanging from and I slapped Hiccup's hand out of the way and mounted up behind him. "Now! Just get me down." I said nervously.
"Toothless down, gently," Hiccup ordered the Night Fury. "See? Nothing to worry about..." He started to say when suddenly Toothless the Night Fury shot up to the sky and because I wasn't holding on when it happened I was thrown back. "Ahhhhhh!" I screamed in terror. Hiccup leaned back so I could grab his waist. Once I grabbed is waist I held on for dare life. "Toothless! What are you doing? We need her to like us!" Hiccup yelled at the Night Fury. Toothless plummeted into the ocean then back out. I was screaming when the Night Fury Toothless shot back up into the sky then back down towards the ocean again. "Thank you for nothing you useless reptile." Hiccup scowled. I hid my face into Hiccup's back as I said "Okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Just get me off this thing."
Hiccup's POV:
"Okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Just get me off this thing." Astrid said into my back. She was holding me so tight that I thought she was going to squeeze me to death. Toothless then started to glide across the sky peacefully. "Astrid you can open your eyes now," I said to one freaked out blonde Viking. The grip that Astrid had on me loosened a bit. I turned my head to look at her as she reached out to the clouds with both hands. Toothless took us above the clouds before diving down slowly to show Berk. I felt Astrid wrap her arms around my waist and smiled into my back while hugging me. I knew then that Astrid was enjoying herself which made me smile. Alright. I admit this is pretty amazing. He's amazing." She said as she leaned down pat Toothless. Toothkesslooked at me and smiled his Toothless Smile.
"So what now? Hiccup, your final exam is tomorrow, you know your gonna have to kill... kill the dragon." She whispered the last part into my ear. I didn't answer straight away as o was thinking. I knew I couldn't or even wouldn't kill a dragon and of course I knew if I did I would lose Toothless trust and that I couldn't lose. "That won't happen."
"What?" Astrid said with a shocked sounding in her voice. "What do you mean by that won't happen?" She asked me. I didn't answer her instead I guided Toothless back to the cove.
