Finn sat with a handful of pebbles. He threw them one by one into the bushes while his two friends Drew and Killian were watching him. They were at Killian's house, enjoying a cold lemonade spiked with some sort of alcohol. Finn's best guess was tequila. Drew thought it was vodka. Killian enjoyed keeping his recipe secret.

"Would you mind stopping that?" Killian asked. "Half of those pebbles land in my garden. It's gonna be hell walking bare footed through it if I step on one of those every other step I take."
"I'm bored," Finn said.
"Smart people don't get bored," Drew smirked.
"Don't give me that," Finn smirked back. "You're bored too."
"I never said I was smart," Drew said.

All three men chuckled at that. Finn got up and walked over to the bushes to make sure the rest of the pebbles got thrown in there instead of landing in the garden.

"Good boy," Killian teased.

Finn walked back, grabbed his glass of lemonade and emptied it.

"Shit, that's good," Finn licked his lips. "What was it again? Tequila?"
"Nice try. I'm not telling you," Killian said.
"Give it up," Drew chuckled. "He'll never tell us his secret recipe."
"Can I have some more then?" Finn asked.
"There's no more. Sorry," Killian said.

Finn shrugged and put his glass back down. This Summer was getting to him. There was nothing to do.

"Why is everything so god damn boring?" Finn complained.
"Gee, thanks," Drew said. "Do you want me to dress up as a clown to entertain you?"
"I have an idea," Killian said.

Finn and Drew both looked at Killian.

"If you're up for it," Killian added.
"Anything but sitting here," Finn said.
"There's a field I know about," Killian said.
"A field? What the hell will we be doing in a field?" Finn asked.
"Shut up and let me tell you," Killian answered.

Drew gave Finn a push. Killian emptied his own glass of lemonade before continuing.

"It's a beautiful field. The grass is growing high. Like up to your knees high. There's an old cottage with a porch. No one owns it. On that porch mushrooms grow. You know, magic mushrooms. You're gonna get high and have a great rush," Killian said.
"What type of mushrooms?" Drew asked.
"No one knows," Killian answered. "It's a type that doesn't grow anywhere else. But I'm telling you, it's gonna be worth the high. What you'll see..."

Killian stopped talking and looked out in the horizon. He was thinking back to when he went there and what he experienced. What he wouldn't give to have that experience again.

"What? What did you see? You can't leave us on a cliffhanger like that," Drew said.
"It was beautiful," Killian said. "I can't say anything else. Either you go there and see for yourself, or you laugh and think I'm drunk and making up stories."

Drew and Finn looked at each other and then back at Killian.

"Take us there," Finn said.
"I can't go with you," Killian said.
"Why not?" Drew asked.
"Those are the rules," Killian answered.
"The rules? What rules?" Finn asked.
"I don't make them," Killian shrugged. "You have to go there without me. I'll give you directions."

Finn and Drew looked at each other again and nodded in agreement.

"Give us directions," Drew said.
"Might as well be tripping when there's nothing better to do," Finn said.
