DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry Potter :(

Harry doodled on his parchment until Snape billowed into the classroom. How does he do that? Harry wondered.

"Today we will be doing some revision. Hopefully the lot of you aren't as incompetent here as in potions." Snape sneered at the Gryffindors while the Slytherins snickered. "We will be revising on werewolves. Let's hope that you can remember things, those I highly doubt it with those idiotic brains of yours."

Harry glanced at Ron who rolled his eyes and put his head in his hands while Hermione suddenly looked very pale.

"Werewolves. The beasts of nature. One bite from them on the full moon and you'll become one too. When in wolf form most werewolves have no control over their actions. They act like predators, like real wolves." Snape paused for a second and flicked his wand, showing pictures.

"They maul-" flick

"They bite-" flick

"They kill." Flick

They were now looking at a picture of a dead girl with a werewolf standing over her. The girl had several larges gashes around her body and as they watched coughed out blood before going limp while the werewolf howled.

Hermione looked positively sick now.

"Werewolves are monsters." Snape drawled softly.

Harry felt white-hot fury wash over him as he glared venomously at Snape. Remus was not a monster!

He was so engrossed in trying to kill Snape with his eyes that he nearly fell out of his chair when Hermione pushed her chair back and, muttering "I can't do this anymore", left the classroom quickly.

"20 points from Gryffindor!" Snape shouted furiously. When Hermione didn't come back, Snape glared venomously at Harry. "Werewolves have been around for…"

"Hey Herm! Where'd you go?" Ron asked with a mouthful of food.

Hermione glared at him. "I couldn't take it anymore. I went to Madam Pomfrey for a stomach soother. Do you want to know anymore while we're having lunch?"

Ron quickly shook his head and continued to shovel food into his mouth.

When they all finished, they headed outside to enjoy the sunshine, sitting by their willow tree and talking about nonsensical things.

"Hermione? Hermione!"

Hermione's head snapped up. "Huh? Oh…Sorry Harry, what did you want to say?" She asked, yawning heavily.

"Did you do the homework on how to change a desk into a pig and back again?"

"Oh! I completely forgot! I'm going to the library right now. See you!" She cried before rushing off.

"Hermione Granger forgetting her homework?" Ron asked incredulously "What's gotten into her?"

"I don't know," Harry replied as he watched her retreating figure "But I would like to find out."

Harry fiddled with his quill as McGonagall took the register. He jumped when Hermione burst into the classroom, hair flying everywhere and a faint sheen of sweat covering her forehead.

"Sorry I'm late professor McGonagall." She panted out

"5 points from Gryffindor Ms Granger" Professor McGonagall said sharply before gesturing for her to take a seat.

"I have marked your essays on the impact Transfiguration has on the world as the examiners would for your N.E. ."

As she handed them out, Harry's heart soared, and he felt like doing a happy dance. He had gotten an O! He showed it to Hermione gleefully.

"Well done!" She whispered. She smiled half-heartedly at him.

"What did you get?"

Hermione flushed. "I'd…I'd rather not say." She whispered back quickly. She stuffed her essay into her bag, but not before Harry saw dozens of red marks on her parchment and a large P on the top.

Harry frowned. Another thing that was wrong with his friend. Hermione never got a P!

"You may go." Hermione rushed out of the classroom like a bullet.

Harry found Hermione sobbing outside a classroom on the second floor. "Hermione?"

"Oh! Hi Harry." She sniffled, rubbing her eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

"It's…nothing. Nothing at all. Oh look, it's time for charms!"

Harry knew they had plenty of time for charms, but he humored her. He would find out eventually.

Harry glanced at Hermione. She was sitting in the desk next to him, her eyes drooping as Flitwick lectured them on how to do a switching spell. It was strange. Ever since he had seen her since the battle in the Department of Mysteries she had been…different. She had certainly become thinner, and her face was always extremely pale. She also jumped at the slightest movement. She was definitely not the Hermione he knew at all.
