Hey y'all!

WARNING: The next chapter is going to have the funeral. I have been blessed enough to not attend a funeral for a close family member, so I am not completely sure if I am going to be writing this correctly.

Steve slipped his jacket over his shoulders and looked into the mirror in the guest room. Today was the funeral and knowing that it was going to be a hard day for Robin, Skye, and himself, he was preparing for a very long day. He ran his hand through his hair and he felt his body sag for a moment, before straightening. He needed to be strong today for Robin and Skye.

He walked out of his room and down the hall before stopping in front of a door with princesses on it. Knocking Steve heard a small voice call out for him to enter. Opening the door, he looked in and was greeted by the sight of a little girl that was playing with some stuffed animals. He smiled and walked over to join her on the floor, "Hey Angel, what are you doing?" The little girl didn't look up as she answered her godfather, "Stevie and Skye are going surfing." Steve still had a soft smile on his face as he watched his goddaughter in silence. He still needed to talk to her about coming to Hawaii with him, he knew he should have asked her before today, but he didn't want to upset her.

Steve looked at the young girl, "Skye do you know where we are going today?" Skye hugged her two animals close to her chest and nodded. When she looked up Steve saw that she had tears in her eyes, "We are going to say goodbye to mommy and daddy." Steve picked up the girl and moved her to his lap and hugged her, "Yes we are, but just because we are saying goodbye, doesn't mean that they are truly leaving us. They will always be with us; we just might not see them every day. Does that make sense?" The young girl seemed to be deep in thought for a few minutes before nodding, "It's like with you and me Uncle Steve. Mama told me that just because you weren't here every day, doesn't mean that you didn't love me." Steve nodded and tightened his hold on her, "That's right. Angel, your granny and I were talking and we were wondering if you wanted to come and live with me in Hawaii?"

The little girl turned to look at her uncle, "What about granny?" Steve thought for a minute, "Granny is going to stay here, but I'm sure that she'll come and visit and we can even come and visit her sometimes." The girl nodded and looked deep in thought before turning back to her uncle, "Uncle Steve I think that I would like to live you." Steve nodded and smiled, "I would like that very much. You are going to meet some of my friends. They are going to love you." The little girl looked nervously at him, "Really?" Steve just nodded at her. Steve looked at his watch and saw the time. He moved the girl off his lap, stood up, and stretched out his hand, "Alright, it's time to go kiddo."

The girl just gave him a sad look, before taking his hand and standing. The pair walked out of her room and down the stairs and saw that Robin was standing in the entryway, waiting for them. Seeing the pair come down the stairs the woman gave them a tight smile before opening the door and heading to the car. The pair followed her and climbed in as well before heading to the church for the funeral. When Robin pulled the car into the parking lot, she looked around and was glad to see so many people had shown up to say goodbye to her daughter and son-in-law.

Climbing out of the car she headed towards the church after taking her granddaughter's hand. Entering the church, they met with the pastor, who greeted them warmly though his greeting to Steve was a bit less warm, "Hello Ms. Robin, Miss Skye, Mr. McGarrett." Robin returned the greeting, "Hello Pastor Rick." The woman tried to go around the man, but he stopped her by speaking again, "If there is anything that I can do for you and your family, please let me know." The older woman nodded again and was finally able to move around the pastor. Entering a hall, the woman stopped and faced Steve. She gave him a look that spoke a thousand words. Steve just returned her look and shook his head in resign before gesturing forwards. The trio entered the sanctuary and saw the two coffins at the front.

The woman tried to walk forward but was stopped when she felt a pull at her hand. Looking down she saw that Skye was frozen looking at the coffins. Robin looked up at Steve who gestured for her to go ahead and sit. He kneeled down to look the little girl in the eyes, "What's wrong Angel?" He had to strain to hear the whispered question that she responded with, "That's where mama and daddy are?" He sighed and pulled her into a hug, "Yes sweet girl. Your mama and daddy are up there. We are going to say goodbye to them. Remember just because we are saying goodbye to them, it doesn't mean that they are truly gone. They are in our hearts and memories. Are you ready to go sit down?" The young girl nodded and let the older man lead her to the seats.

Before they could sit, they heard a voice call out, "Steve." Steve McGarrett turned and saw his father come up the aisle. He walked to greet him, "Dad. I'm glad you could make it." The older man hugged his son tightly before pulling back, "Like I'm going to let you go through today alone. I'm also not the only one that came. Your sister is here along with your team." Steve looked around his father and saw his sister Mary and his team. He walked to greet all of them before facing Danny, "Danno what are you guys doing here?" The Italian man shook his head and used his hands as he explained, "Like we are going to let you go through today alone you caveman. Besides, I figured Skye would need someone her age so I brought Grace." At that moment Grace broke through the crowd of adults and greeted her father's partner, "Hi Uncle Steve." The man smiled at the young girl, "Hi Gracie. Do you want to meet my goddaughter Skye?" The girl just nodded and followed her honorary uncle down the aisle to the two females sitting down and watching them. Steve gestured for Skye to come out to the aisle before he grabbed her hand, "Grace this is my goddaughter Skye. Angel this is my partner's daughter Grace. She is your age and my partner Danny figured you would like someone your age here for today. Do you want her to sit with us?"

Skye looked at the girl for a minute, deciding whether or not she liked this girl. Deciding that she liked her because Uncle Steve did, Skye nodded and the two girls sat down next to Robin. Steve turned and faced the rest of his Ohana, before he could say anything Chin spoke, "We are going to be here in this row brah. We have your back today, yours and Skye's grandmother." Steve nodded before making the introductions between Robin and the rest of the group, he figured he could introduce them to Skye after the funeral since she was busy talking and giggling with Grace.

At that moment more people entered the sanctuary and began sitting down. Coming down the aisle was Ruby's siblings along with Scott's family. Pastor Rick walked to the podium in the front of the sanctuary and stood there for a few minutes while everyone quieted down. It was time for the funeral to begin.

Hey y'all! I figured I would end it here. Don't forget to review and tell me what you think please!
